[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46060] Writer corrupts DOCX file, recovery not possible with Office 2010
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46060 --- Comment #5 from Philip Gillißen gue...@freenet.de 2012-02-15 06:41:16 PST --- Hi Nino! (In reply to comment #4) @ Philip: Seems as if saving the document did not produce a document of type MS XML but rather of type ODT. Adding the file extension .docx does not automatically change the document type. To be able to tell, if this was caused by a software misbehavior (bug) or by a somewhat not-as-designed user action, the question is, how the corrupted document was created exactly and if this behavior can be reproduced (and under which conditions, i.e. OS/platform/etc). So you should give exact step-by-step instructions, what you did (which button you pressed, and so on) to save the document. Then somebody (using the same Platform if available) should try to reproduce the behavior. Thank you for the test and the clarification! I will try it if I did use the wrong format and report back (propably this evening). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46071 --- Comment #1 from Andy silva...@katamail.com 2012-02-15 06:50:29 PST --- I have now restored the user profile, and the formula editor is working again. However, it remains to be seen why the upgrade from 3.4.5. to release 3.5 caused the corruption, and if there is some other less drastic way to awake the formula editor other than completely resetting your profile. For some users who use LO just as it is by default, this could be a non-issue, but if you (like me) have heavily customized your L.O. install, with modified and optimized toolbars for each app, hotkeys, etc., starting from scratch means replicating a LOT of effort, with the fear of having to do it again soon. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

On the laptop display The menu switch over occurs at about 320px, i.e at only about a sixth of the way across the laptop display, and is very off putting as it is entirely unexpected and counter intuitive. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1 more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html Tested in 3.5.0 rc3 Bug still persists. The cause of this bug is that the Data Labels field in a chart is a set globally for all data ranges in a chart. To remedy this, it would have to be possible to set different data labels for each data series. In many scientific applications it is essential to be able to control how all data points on an X-Y graph are labeled, so this would be a very useful feature -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46071] EDITING: Math formula editor frezees after upgrading to 3.5 - PLEASE HELP
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46071 --- Comment #2 from Andy silva...@katamail.com 2012-02-15 07:34:58 PST --- Created attachment 57101 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=57101 config file that blocks the math formula editor since upgrading from 3.4.5. to 3.5 After fiddling a bit, I concluded that the single file registrymodifications.xcu keeps track of all customization: if I delete only this file from the user profile, all toolbars revert to the default ones, and Formula editor is working, while all the rest of the profile is unchanged. So now the problem is: what is the bit of registrymodifications.xcu that blocks the formula editor? I opened the file with the Notepad, but it is actually difficult to see through it if you're not used too. And it is quite big too. So I am attaching my guilty registrymodifications.xcu in case anyone knows how to check it and give hints on the issue. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46117] New: EDITING: changes to formulae by clicking in a cell not shown in formula bar
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46117 Bug #: 46117 Summary: EDITING: changes to formulae by clicking in a cell not shown in formula bar Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release Platform: x86-64 (AMD64) OS/Version: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: domwo...@gmail.com Normally it is possible to edit an equation by pointing and clicking on cells. E.g. (1) type = (2) click in cell A1 (3) type + (4) click in cell A2 ... the formula =A1+A2 is shown in the formula bar and applied to the active cell once enter is hit or tick is pressed. However, If while entering a formula the user clicks in the formula bar to move the cursor location (for example, to enter text in the middle of an existing equation) this ceases to work. Specifically clicking in a cell fails to update the text shown in the formula bar even though it does change the formula saved once enter is hit. Minimal method to reproduce bug: (1) active cell is A3 (2) type = 1 + + 2 (3) click between the two +'s in the formula bar to edit the mistake in this equation (4) click in cell A1 no change is shown in formula bar (5) hit enter contents of cell A3 are now = 1 + A1 + 2 * If at step (4) user click multiple times in A1 because they do not see anything happening, the cell reference will be added multiple times to the formula. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43849] Autocorrection non-functional in documents created from template
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43849 --- Comment #3 from Fabian Tröster fabian.troes...@gmx.de 2012-02-15 08:43:52 PST --- Thank you, yes, I know how to turn Autocorrection on and off from within the application. That's not what I was saying. (Is my English that bad?) I haven't tested the issue with a more current version of LibreOffice. Anyway, in Version 3.4.4 (running under Windows) the templates for a basic Writer-document which you can select from Windows-context Menu NEW-New Writer-Document (whatever it is in an English installation of Windows) Autocorrection is NOT WORKING, while it IS working all the same when just starting Writer from the Start-Menu. Please note: I haven't changed a sinlge option from within the application at this point! Writer's Autocorrection behaves differently depending on HOW the document was originally created. You will agree that this is not correct! There is a bug within those templates selectable from the Windows context menu. Creating a new default template is not correcting this, since the template used when starting Writer from Start-Menu is obviously different from the template used by creating a new document from the context menu. And anyway, that should be working correctly out of the box. Trust me on that, I have been using every version of OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice since 2003. I just re-tested this issue with my own installation of LibreOffice 3.4.4 on Windows XP SP3 32bit. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46060 --- Comment #8 from Philip Gillißen gue...@freenet.de 2012-02-15 10:40:45 PST --- I reanalyzed my problem and found the real problem corrupting the files. The document is unrecoverably corrupted by LO 3.5, so that MS Word 2010 is not able to open the documents. The source is the TOC, added by Word. I added two new documents (1 clean, 1 corrupt). Here's the procedure, how I created them: 1. Create new document in MS Word 2010 2. Insert TOC (standard template) 3. Add some headlines 4. Refresh TOC 5. Save document as docx file. 6. Copy document with Windows Explorer. 7. Open copy with LibreOffice Writer 3.5. 8. Add a line break 9. Save it in the current format. 10. Open it in Word. Not recoverable (problem in Line 2, document.xml). I compared the contents with WinMerge[1] and the docx addon[2]. I found the differences in the TOC area. I really hope, this information may help you. I will edit the bug title according to the new information. Removing *two* entries off the end of pHistoryList in SvtTemplateWindow::OpenHistory (svtools/source/contnr/templwin.cxx) indeed looks odd, but is effectively in there since the beginning (subsequent commits just changed the underlying data structures). What apparently happens if you follow the steps described in bug 38009 and you reopen the dialog after you had selected a template from My Templates the last time it had been opened, is - a call to SvtTemplateWindow::AppendHistoryURL with the .../templates/en-US URL - followed by a call to SvtTemplateWindow::AppendHistoryURL with the .../templates/en-US/My%20Templates URL - followed by a call to ClearHistory -- this apparently comes from UpdateHdl_Impl, no idea what it is supposed to do - followed by another call to SvtTemplateWindow::AppendHistoryURL with the .../templates/en-US URL and in particular no calls to OpenHistory involved (which might therefore be a red herring after all) That code apparently needs further investigation... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
