Also in OOo 3.3, so inherited.

Ideally, spacing for colon should follow locale (e.g. space before for French,
no space for English).

I figured out what the problem was. The problem was not occurring on my laptop
(which essentially the same setup). Apparently, something in my gnome
configuration was grabbing the keystroke and not sending it to LibreOffice.

I went in with gnome-tweaks
Under Keyboard & Mouse I selected Additional Layout Options
Under `Key ... 3rd level` I selected `Right Ctrl`
(not sure if this one was necessary).
Under `Non-breaking space input`, I selected `Non-breaking space at the 4th
level`.

Now the Ctrl+Shift+Space sequence seems to be generating a non-breaking space.

Hopefully this will be useful to somebody else experiencing this problem.

I was just bugged by this and finally decided to submit an issue but I see it's
already here.

As others mentioned - icons are not "retina" - no matter if it's SVG or PNG
versions, they are pixelated.

It's not only top toolbar icons, but also icons in sidebar, zoom slider dot,
find toolbar icons, the triangular thingies for wrapped toolbar to show mor
icons.

This is the case in OOo 3.3 as well, so I am marking as inherited.

However, if you use the Tools > Line Numbering feature for the document, you'll
see that the default setting is to continue the numbering across pages. So the
numbering of the comments matches the numbering on the page, which is
definitely what we expect from the feature.

Now, change the line numbering setting to "Restart every new page": you'll see
that the comments now follow that numbering in the printout too.

Syncing with the line numbering settings is the important thing.
And it is possible to switch "Restart every new page on", then choose to not
show the line numbering, to end up with what you were hoping.

I am closing as "not a bug", I hope that makes sense.

To add another example: 1,2,3,3 in A1:A4 and 1,2,3,3 in A6:A9. Click A1 and
apply the filter to the first group of numbers, and then the same for the
second. Selecting the whole row does not enable Reset, neither selecting A1 to
the end (shift+ctrl+down) but A6.

We could simply solve the problem by extending the selection to the whole block
as it happens for applying a filter - you cannot filter A1:A3 separately from
A4:A6 but need some empty cell between.

[Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 124093] EDITING Selecting filtered cells with hidden rows in between causes a bug in filter reset.

2023-07-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124093

To add another example: 1,2,3,3 in A1:A4 and 1,2,3,3 in A6:A9. Click A1 and
apply the filter to the first group of numbers, and then the same for the
second. Selecting the whole row does not enable Reset, neither selecting A1 to
the end (shift+ctrl+down) but A6.

We could simply solve the problem by extending the selection to the whole block
as it happens for applying a filter - you cannot filter A1:A3 separately from
A4:A6 but need some empty cell between.

This is wrong; the actual dependency is not on *extended* tips, but simply for
tips (which is still configurable in expert configuration, and used to have a
checkbox in UI).

so ignore this piece.

I think https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148764 is about
this exactly (should be added as "related"?)

I think this one (#127138) is not only GNOME/KDE specific as I just ran into

I'm sorry, I can't follow the closing of this bug - especially this way.

* It is asking for the opposite compared to what happened in the "duplicate"
bug - so it's no way it could be a dupe;
* It is a valid request, and bug 43650 created a regression - so I don't
understand the decision to close it;

Sorry, my previous error report was wrong!
There is a problem with the frame overlap, which causes the entire content of
the page to disappear when scrolling. I tried it with the given parameter and
the gtk3 interface, the error still exists in the case of a document created in
Windows (docx). Under Windows and in WPS, there is no such appearance error and
the frame does not overlap to the next page. When we resize the frame in
LibreOffice so that it doesn't overlap, the problem goes away.

I have attached the problematic docx.

OS: Linux (All)

Description:
I have a document which has styles called selah and endnote xtra. If i use
these a second time, the paragraph reverts to (i think) parent style, yet the
new paragraph is the correct style

Steps to Reproduce:
1.type text
2.change style to selah
3.selah selected, type text
4.enter for new paragraph

Actual Results:
the paragraph just typed reverts to parent text(in example this is Body Text).
the new par however, is correctly Selah, until enter, then same happens
The same occurs for endnote style which has a continuation style called endnote
xtra

Expected Results:
styles should not automatically change to parent style

Stuart provided information in comment 2, but you haven't replied to that.
It looks to me that, with the features Stuart highlighted, and the potential
for customisation, this is either "not a bug" or "works for me". The feature
was never "dropped". Maybe you made the toolbar visible one day, and on
updating the software it went back to its default of being hidden?

Mike Kaganski changed:

So:

1. The commit identified by Stéphane made the tooltips dependent on *two*
options (for unclear reason): *both* "ShowScrollBarTips" expert config must be
enabled, *and* Options->LibreOffice->General->Extended tips (why???);
2. It made "ShowScrollBarTips" false by default.

In view of already resolved (at that point) bug 43650, it was overkill - both
"Extended tips" dependency, and "disabled by default" (note that i#25945 was
also filed against the problems when *mouse-wheel* scrolling).

3. Commit 4ed26badfd6fd9190cb6e54078b41eb38cb37dca (use resolution independent
positions for writer's screen-rendering, 2022-01-20) broke ShowScrollBarTips.
Before that, it "worked" (if someone ever used it; it seems, that it degraded
since then).

So besides the regression fix, IMO, it needs some love, and then remove both
Extended tips dependency, and "off by default".
