@angelo...@gmail.com:
That seems to show that you do not have a dictionary installed or that the
document is in a language for what yo do not have a dictionary or may be that
you suffer from "Bug 37195 - Dictionary access lost after LibO upgrade" (I
agree with vitriol's suspect).

I added you to CC for Bug 37159

If you believe you have a different problem from Bug 37159:
May I ask you to read hints on ?
Then please:
- Check whether your problem is the one of Bug 37159
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- add information
-- Concerning your available dictionaries (Menu 'Tools -> Options ->
Language settings -> Writing Aids -> User defined Dictionaires'
-- concerning your PC (especially: video card)
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO localization (UI language)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read a.m. URL

- Reported with Bug Submission Assistant -

I don't understand reporter's comment 8 at all, am tired with that close-reopen
game, see this as INVALID with wrong status field.

@Reporter:
It would help if you contribute requested information, not information you
believe that it might be useful.

--- Comment #17 from Rainer Bielefeld
2011-10-27 23:18:04 PDT ---
Modified Version due to report date.

[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.4.4RC1 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German
UI [OOO340m1 (Build:401)]"

Steps I tried:
0. I prepared my Address Database Spreadsheet with a filter criteria for
   4 addresses and save/close.
1. opened new WRITER document and saved it as "source.dot"
2. Opened a Letter document with Address Fields for Mail Merge Address
data (Name, Street/No, Zipcode, Town) I use for my business
3. Copy/Paste address fields from my Letter document to "source.dot"
4. Menu 'Insert -> Frame'
   Frame will be inserted.
5. Select Name field from Address , for copy
6. Click into Frame from step 4
7. Menu 'Tools -> Mail Merge Wizard'
8. 'Use Current Document'
9. 'Letter''
10. Select Address List
11. 'Filter' Select my filter criteria from step 0'
12. In Dialog "Preview and edit the document" I switch through 4 filtered
Addresses, everything is ok, Name also visible in text frame

13. Print merged Document dialog:
Select "Print merged Document", Select Printer "FreePDF"
Print all Documents

Printout will start
14. I proceed FreePDF until PDF with Printout opens
Expected: All Address data, also in frame, visible in document with 7 pages
(I did not suppress empty pages), contents in pages 1,3,5,7
Actual: as expected

I can't see any problem. Same result with LibO 3.3.3 Portable, but that's not
unexpected, reporter said that everythin works if the document contains text
outside the frame.

So new Test:

20. Address Database Spreadsheet still is prepared
21. Open reporter's "Step_1.odt" and saved it as "Step_1_source.dot"
22. Opened a Letter document with Address Fields for Mail Merge address
data (Name, Street/No, Zipcode, Town) I use for my business
33. Copy/Paste address fields from my Letter document into the empty
("inner") frame of "Step_1_source.dot"
37. Menu 'Tools -> Mail Merge Wizard'
38. 'Use Current Document'
39. 'Letter''
40. Select Address List
41. 'Filter' Select my filter criteria from step 0'
42. In Dialog "Preview and edit the document" I switch through 4 filtered
Addresses, everything is ok, Name also visible in text frame

42a. In Step 7 Dialog "Personalize the mail merge document":
   (Result document will open)
Document has 7 pages as expected, but contents only in page 1, pages
 3,5,7 are empty, that's UNEXPECTED
42b. Click in message box 'Return ot mail merge wizard'

43. Step 8, Print merged Document dialog:
Select "Print merged Document", Select Printer "FreePDF"
Print all Documents

Printout will start
44. I proceed FreePDF until PDF with Printout opens
Expected: All Address data (Name) in frame visible in document with
7 pages
Actual: contents only on page 1, all following empty

Same result with "Step_1.odt" with empty frame: frame only shown in step 44 on
page 1

@Caolán:
I am a little sceptical concerning the red herring hypothesis. When I type a
simple x into the document outside the frame in a step 33a, the mail merge
process will have the expected result with an x and frame with contents on all
odd page numbers, but Copy with -> -> switch to other
document -> still will only paste the "x", but not the frame. To
heal the copy paste problem the "x" plus an additional will be
required.
So the copy/paste problem might be a different issue, but of course, I am not
sure.

Please feel free to reassign (or reset Assignee to default) if it’s not your

what is to misunderstand in that:

DRAW: doubleclick on a group makes ANY element of the group editable/movable
("go into group" as default) - the properties of text-of-objects are different
to those of grafical text, which ALWAYS results in unforeseeable results, when
they are joined in a group

TEXT: doubleclick on a group makes the text editable of the object(the group
itself remains intakt) - but either text-of-object or grafical text is scaling
- but as above not both together or with unforeseeable results

disable quickedit-option from OPTIONS in DRAW does not function, and it is not
an option in TEXT.

btw: upscaling of text(font-size) with frame does not function in no modul.

inconsistence in different modules, an it had been better in the past, so
feature is broken
regression
reopend

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42330] New: Ether no explicit uninstaller, or very poorly advertised one

2011-10-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42330

 Bug #: 42330
Summary: Ether no explicit uninstaller, or very poorly
advertised one
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.3 release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: blocker
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: mcl...@gmail.com

I am using Win XP
I usually instal software using
CONTROL-PANEL ->SET-PROGRAM-ACCESS..-> ADD-NEW-PROGRAM ->program-installer;
in the hope that by telling the OS about the programs installation,
I can un-instal with a minimum of consequences;
via CONTROL-PANEL ->SET-PROGRAM-ACCESS..-> CHANGE-OR-REMOVE-PROGRAMS;
This doesn't work for LibreOffice3.4.3,
apparently due to  the absence of an explicit uninstaller ;
When I tried deleting the installation directory.. etc ;
this creates a huge mess presumably due to registry residue.
Experiment has shown that 'AbsoluteUninstaler'for example will do
a proper uninstal, but more naive users may finish up formatting the
drive and reinstalling windows.
LibreOffice will quickly gain a bad reputation with this behaviour;
please fix this

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42327

 Bug #: 42327
Summary: Envelope center position landscape prints portrait
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.2 release
  Platform: Other

Hi All,

I can not print envelopes. This is a serious problem.

My printer is an Okidata B4350. I use the CUPS Foomatic/ljet4 driver. My
envelopes feed center position landscape. I am selecting the fifth from the
left / second from the right that shows center feed landscape for my envelope
orientation.

Problem: it prints landscape across the middle of my envelope.

Would you please fix this for me?

Many thanks,
-T

Same issue, but color selector doesn't show if the button isn't visible on the
toolbar. Does not matter if the window is maximized or not, just narrow enough
so the button does not display on the toolbar.

When the button moves from the toolbar to the toolbar-dropdown, additional
dialog windows are not displayed. This also happens with the Borders dialog.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42324] New: When editing in Writer, the cursor ignores diacritical characters added to the letters in RTL languages.

2011-10-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon

 Bug #: 42324

ReportedBy: dovijac...@yahoo.com

Created attachment 52834
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=52834
A sample ODT text with multiple diacritical marks in the letters

In some RTL languages (and perhaps in some LTR languages too but I don't know),
there are diacritical marks added to the letters which stand for vocalization,
syntax and other matters. These marks are independent Unicode characters, but
they appear within or attached to a specific letter. One letter can have
several such marks attached to it.

In most common word processors (e.g. Word and Google Docs), the cursor takes
these marks into account when it moves. For instance, if a letter has two such
marks the cursor will move over the letter in three steps. This allows for
convenient manual editing, because an individual mark can easily be selected,
deleted, or copied elsewhere.

In LibreOffice Writer, however, the cursor moves over each letter in a single
step, no matter how many diacritical marks it has, thus making it difficult or
impossible to accomplish basic editing functions in vocalized texts.

This bug was originally reported to the Hebrew OO/LO forum, where it was
pointed out that the LO behavior also has an advantage in making it less
tedious for the cursor to pass through large blocks of text. The discussion
appears here (in Hebrew):

http://whatsup.org.il/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=57683

The question therefore is whether LO currently provides an option to choose the
behavior of the cursor. If that option currently exists then no one has yet
been able to locate it; if it doesn't exist then it should be provided to the
user at least as an option and possibly as the default. Otherwise, the cursor
should behave as in Word and Google Docs so that all normal editing functions
are possible.

A sample ODT text with multiple diacritical marks in the letters is attached.

Very easy to reproduce crash – here's how:

1 Open LibO Calc with a new file
2 Click on Insert > Names > Define...
3 Enter any name into the box, then click Add
4 Select the name just entered
5 Click Modify and experience crash

I can reproduce this consistently on Windows Vista (32-bit) and Ubuntu 10.10
(64-bit).

(The very similar Data > Define Range... dialogue doesn't have this problem.)

When a Table of Contents is created not hipperlink is added for each entry.
When building a PDF is very useful to have this hipperlinks.

The editing dialog for Table of Contents helps you to add manually hiperlinks
to selected Levels, but isn't intuitive on where you "PUT" begin of hipperlink
mark and where to "PUT" the end, I think this is hard for people doesn't
knowing anything about HTML like markup () (just as an example, because
you must need to know where to locate the bigging and where the end).

May is more easy if the GUT have quick button to add an imperlink to all
entry's elements automatically, or even to all entries in the table's showed
Levels.

If a cell (or group of cells) contains the @ (at) character, doing a Find &

the character indicated in the Find field.

How to replicate:

1) Select a cell containing an email address
2) Type any string on the Find field (e.g. a period)
3) Type any string on the Replace field (or leave blank)

Pressing Replace will substitute the @ character with the string in the Replace
field or simply delete the @ character if the Replace field was blank

NOTE: this doesn't happen on today's MinGW master build or in LibO dev 3.5

Bug 76318
http://openoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=76318
Reported: 2007-04-12 16:35 by chanon
Original attachment included.

The bug is still not fixed and occurs in the current LibreOffice version. It's
totally annoying if you work with macros and templates for a group of users of
medium/large size. Please fix this.

--Original Description:--
Using Trusted Sources with certificates for Macro Security is difficult with
templates.

When a new document is created based on a template (.ott) file, all the
signatures are removed, including the ones related to the security of the Macro
modules (Basic). So when the newly created document (based on the template with
signed module) is reopen by the user, he is prompted again to enable/disable
macros (while the content of the macro module itself is not modified).

How to reproduce:
Sign the macro of a new document (Tools > Macros > Digital Signature) and save
it as a template e.g BugExample128.ott.

Ensure that the settings for Macro security (Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org >
Security > Macro Security : Security Level set to Medium and trusted Source >
Trusted certificates should contain the certificate used for signing.

Start Writer, file Open and selects the template in my case BugExample128.ott:
a new document UntitledX will open. And the macro signature is gone!

Although this may look compatible with the initial requirements. I think this
not the best possible behavior.

Hi,

I know there was a bug for what every Greek letter was shown as a rectangle in
formulae.
I have Ubuntu 10.04 and Libreoffice (local: Italy) as follows:

LibreOffice 3.3.2
OOO330m19 (Build:202)
tag libreoffice-3.3.2.2, Ubuntu package 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu2~lucid1

The greek capital letter Omega (%OMEGA) is shown both in menu and in writer as
a square. Remaining letters are ok.

As a further info that can maybe useful:

Opening an existing file made with OO from standard Ubuntu distribution
repositories (which I completely removed before installing Libreoffice from the
specific repositories), capital Omega is correctly shown until I open the
formula using the formula editor.
Escaping from the formula editor, capital Omega is shown as a square.

Regards.

2011-10-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42312

 Bug #: 42312
Summary: Base Report Builder, Beanshell, and Javascript
extensions disabled
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO Master
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: blocker
  Priority: medium
 Component: Extensions
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: alex.thurg...@gmail.com

In the daily build from 26/10/2011 the following extensions are present, but
disabled/non-functional. If you inspect the list of installed extensions these
appear greyed out.

The corresponding entries for the script providers in the menu are not present.

The ORB fails to launch when attempting to create a new report. An error
message appears stating that it is required but not installed.

As a reference, what Excel does in such cases is to set external reference to

here.

Shows document style and paragraph style preview not matching.

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create empty new document.
2. Write at least one character so you can see the changes, for instance
"Test."
3. F11 - show "Styles and Formatting"
4. Right-click "Default" style and select Modify from the context menu.
5. Change font style from "Regular" to something else, for instance "Bold".
6. Click "Apply" and the first time you do this, you will see the "bold" style
is applied.
7. Now change font style to something else, let's say "Bold Italic", and click
Apply again. Text in the document will not be changed.
8. Sometimes the Apply button manages to work twice, but try to change
font-style - Apply - font style - Apply more than 2 times, and it will stop
refreshing the document.
9. If you move the "Paragraph style" window and click it, it will not do the
"Apply" job, but will move the window back to the original location!

Also, selecting "US English" is not always what you need. You may actually be
running LO with a US English locale and you want to open a CSV file in another
language.

I think both the thousand separator and the decimal separator should be
configurable.

"Sheet A.ods" contains fields, referring to fields in "Sheet B, C and D.ods".

When you open "Sheet A.ods" there's a prompt to update the references. If you
say yes, then the references are broken.

If you rename the file "Sheet B, C and D.ods" to "Sheet B C and D.ods" (no
comma) all works fine.

The funny thing is I cannot reproduce this with simple sheets as described
above. But the bug does pop up with two rather large worksheets, one of which
converted to ods from xls.

The sheets in question contain some confidential information. If needed, I can
try to purge the data, replace it with some dummy data, and attach them here.

just a file with which the bug occurs

Problem description: When editing the attached file, if you add a line break at
the end of a line then paste some syntax copied from GUI Octave, LibO will
crash.
NB: doesn't seem to occur when creating a new file, but I have several files in
which I can reproduce the behavior. Those files haven't been corrupted in any
way as far as I know, but do share a common ancestor.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Type some syntax in GUI Octave and copy part or all of the line
2. Open attached file
3. Place your cursor _at the end_ of a line, hit return, then paste

Current behavior: crash

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37620] Data in reports created by Report Wizard do not display all data records in LO 3.4 RC1

Alex: you're absolutely right, I tested on Master and there have been changes
on this part.
I reinstalled 3.4.3 after removing profile before (since I made some other
specific tests).
I tried to reproduce the pb, I haven't succeeded in it and no error messages in
console.
I attached the screenshot of the result which seems correct (since I find 25
like the corresponding query).

If you don't reproduce it with 3.4.3, I propose you to put this bug to
RESOLVED/WORKSFORME (I'm not sure about "WORKSFORME" is the most appropriate).

Hi Chad,

I've noticed this too on my Ubuntu Oneiric 32bit version with LibO 3.4.3.

Try removing the mozilla plugin :

sudo apt-get remove mozilla-libreoffice

Hi Julien,

Are you testing on master ?
The behaviour you see might have something to do with the Java wizards having
been rewritten in Python on master, and perhaps this has affected the Report
Wizard ??

Error messages in console

When I opened the report Prescriptions, I've got no prescriptions at all and
have all the error messages I attached.
The result is like if I would have opened it in edit mode except that fields in
title columns were no more grey.
Perhaps I did something wrong.

lionel: have you succeeded in reproducing the pb with 3.4.3 or 3.5 ?

Gabor: Would you have some error messages before the crash or better a
backtrace (ideally with symbols) ?

@rl:
Unfortunately your report is too imprecise to allow a test. Why did you not
attach the requested documents?

Please
a) attach a sample document containing some screenshosts and information
concerning styles, font, font size you see before you start the test and ant
the end of the test. If possible you should copy / paste the result of every
important step so that the results are visible.

b) contribute more precise information. Most of your info in Comment 12 is
imprecise or can not work in the way you write (at least on my PC):

1. How do you "Enter" the empty line? What is a " line break and an empty line
after xxx"? Please mention every key press and every mouse click!
3. for what is this step important?
4. That way to select does not work for me with WIN, I selected with
   + 3x
6. does not work for me. First arrowup unselects, second one does nothing

it comes out as "12" instead of "1"
