The same problem with LibreOffice 3.4.3 OOO340m1 (Build:302)

I wanted to go to right of the document (calc) and then i couldn't ever go back
with the horizontal scrollbar, nor with the middle button... I just could use
the "home" key to go back to bottom left of the document (or the arrow keys)!
the horizontal
scrollbar seems to have a graphical bug... I took a snapshot if someone is
interested.. I don't know how to post here the attachment (png)
KDEsc i use is 4.7.2

@Stefan Lindel:
We can't fix your problems, only LibO-bugs.

May I ask you to read hints on
carefully?
Then please:
- Write a meaningful Summary
- Attach atest ket (not only screenshot)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
mouse click how to reproduce your problem (and if possible how to created a
  sample document from the scratch)
- add information
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
-- concerning your PC (especially: video card)
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
(video hardware acceleration ...)
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
–- If you can contribute an OOo Issue that might be useful
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

I think, for the ods file type not the export of LibreOffice is wrong, but the
import by Excel. The ods files open without any error in Gnumeric.

It is not worth to look, whether the export to ODF1.2 can be changed to allow
opening in Excel without errors, because Excel drops all functions anyway and
accepts only functions in its own namespace but not in the default open formula
grammar.

The error in the xlsx file is already tracked in bug #fdo35062.

Patch to allow the use of real access() calls

Hi,

this is a bug inherited from OOo (#101891, unfixed for more than 2 years): File
permissions are determined by a stat() call and manually checking the
permission map. This is plain wrong when filesystems not using UNIX semantics
(e.g. OpenAFS or Linux ACLs) are in place, and causes perfectly writeable files
(haven't checked that behaviour with libreoffice, but its wrong anyways) to
open write-protected. Instead access() calls must be used to determine
readability and writeablitity. On the other side it seems there have been
problems using access() in the past:

> We don't use access(...) because access follows links which
> may cause performance problems see #97133.

(comment in sal/osl/unx/file_stat.cxx)

If that's still the case it would be nice to have a compile time option to
switch between the two behaviours.

Patch against master is attached.

Summary: : Character encoding when pasting from Writer to Calc
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

What is typed in Writer and what I get when copy-paste to Calc

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Writer and type letters with non-latin symbols, like "āčēģķ"
2. Copy those letters and paste them in Calc

Current behavior:
When pasting from Writer to Calc non-latin characters, I get wrongly encoded
characters - "âèçìí"

Expected behavior:
I expect that pasting from Writer to Calc will not change characters and the
result will be the same - "āčēģķ"

Platform (if different from the browser):
Windows 7, 64bit

Shahar Or, in order to have \n treated as a new line, one must click the "More
Options" button -> check "Regular expressions". Thank you for reporting this
and feel free to report any future bugs you may find.

Christopher M. Penalver,

I am aware that the "Regular expressions" checkbox needs to be ticked.

However, this doesn't help. It is still treated as text.

Notice that this is in the replace field and not in the search field. Actually,
it doesn't find newlines either.

In Calc's search and replace feature, entering "\n" in the replace field is
treated as regular text.

It would be useful to use "\n" for new line in Calc.

This is first reported on Ubuntu:

Never seen this problem with whatever old files I use.

So to be able to track down to the source of this partictular issue (some
damaged file, as suggested in an earlier comment?), having a simple test
document would be useful.

This one is a DUP of "Bug 43065 - DRAW, WRITER, etc Modifies SVG
"stroke-width", it describes an unavoidable consequence of the current
behavior. The inserted picture is no longer a vector graphic, and so it can't
become a vector graphic when exported. the exported reult only can be a vector
svg view box with an embedded pixel picture.

Further research will have to be done in Bug 43065
