Yes, it is not there, because beta0 was tagged before the fix was committed.
Yet, it is fixed. I saw it fixed in my own build.

--- Comment #16 from Winfried Donkers o...@dci-electronics.nl 2011-12-05
00:43:22 PST ---
This bug applies to all LibO versions (up to 3.5MASTER) and all O/S and seems
to be 'old' OOo-code.

This bug is also reported under 34271, 35104, 35272 (which is marked as DUPL)
and 41755. it may be good to mark all these as duplicates of this bug.

Any labels chosen in the createlabel-dialog from manufacturers 'Avery A4',
'Hema A4' or 'Hema A5' produces a document with an incorrcet pageformat (i.e.
custom and not A4 resp. A5).

The dimensions in
/core/officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Labels.xcu are correct
(that is, I checked some and the sum is exactly A4 page width/height).
I tried to find where the document is created (and so where the page format is
determined), but I haven't been able to find that code.

With some hints I might be able to help with a patch (when it is an easyhack :)
)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34425] [EasyHack] formatting background color toolbar button

(In reply to comment #8)
Just dont hesitate to ask, if you need further hints.

Still working on it. The compiling and linking and debug-attempts made me wish
for a faster computer, which I now have ordered (I don't want you to be waiting
to long for me :)).
I have created a SvxColorExtToolBoxControl class which possibly works OK, but:
-does it need a new ID (e.g. SID_BACKGROUND_COLOR_EXT instead of
SID_BACKGROUND_COLOR in /core/svx/inc/svx/svxids.hrc)?
-in /core/svx/source/tbxctrls/tbxcolorupdate.cxx,
ToolboxButtonColorUpdater::Update is called whenever you select/enter another
cell, so that I cannot test pressing the left part of the toolbutton (apply
last used background color). The toolbutton-color should be updated only when
selecting a new backgroundcolor from the palet (right part of the toolbutton.
Do you have hints where/how to disable updating the toolbutton color?
-I see lot of german comments. Is it wise to translate these in the same patch
(should I succeed), or should I commit two patches (one bug and one
translation)?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43527] New: help text regarding inserting notes does not apply for calc

2011-12-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43527

 Bug #: 43527
Summary: help text regarding inserting notes does not apply for

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: o...@dci-electronics.nl

The help text covering 'Inserting Notes' states that notes can be inserted in
writer, calc, draw and impress. Then it states that the name of the author and
the date/time are shown at the bottom of the note.
This is not correct for calc. Neither author, nor date/time are in notes, unles
the author puts them there).

I assume that it is a bug in het help text and not in the behaviour of calc.
However, the functionality as stated in the help text would be welcome in calc.

Very sad that Calc allows selecting range of cells that are not one by one only
just by adding ';' symbol at the end of first value. You have to push that
button to enter select mode, then choose a cell, then put ; at the end and
try not to delete all of the chosen and so on...
Why can't user do it with a mouse + Ctrl button? It's much faster and more
convenient thus productivity won't suffer.

Macro recording is **highly** buggy and problematic; perhaps it doesn't crash,
but the macros it uses are really awful, ~impossible to read, often execute in
a fragile way, and this code is a maintenance disaster area.

Macro recording should continue to be disabled except in experimental mode; it
is not a feature we can stand behind and maintain currently IMHO.

:-) I notice August reverted his commit removing the need for the experimental
switch in master too (thanks).

Of course - it would be lovely to come up with a complete, holistic macro
recording and replay solution; -but- we need more infrastructure work, testing,
robustness etc. to make this work well.

BTW, I fixed this before seeing this bugzilla bug, this issue have annoyed me
since the first time I first used OOo and I think there are tens of bug reports
about this in OOo bug tracker, all ignored.

The issue is GTK specific; in RTL mode GTK mirrors most of its widget, but
OOo/LO (who is directly using low level GTK APIs to draw the widgets itself)
does not take into account this mirroring which results in this mismatch. The
aforementioned commits fix all the three widget I've noticed (combo box, combo
box entry and spin button).

And yes, the behavior is consistent: without the extra monitor, libreOffice

So a rather unusual situation here..

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43530] New: Indexing of book

2011-12-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43530

 Bug #: 43530
   Summary: Indexing of book
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: chrisleff...@uwclub.net

1. I am puzzled also about the indexing application in Writer. I am indexxing
a long transcript of a historical document. Entering an index entry has
pitfalls because the Help does not make it clear that Entry and the first
Kkey need to be the same, with any extra text added (Barker, Sir Richard -
will of when Barker is the Entry.) because First Key is what appears at the
head of the actual index, whereas Entry, which in my (latest) version appears
after the first and second keys needs to be told not to print.

2. I also find that the Index Entry dialogue behaves very peculiarly if you
leave it up but go to refer to another file for information or whatever; it
reverts to its first entry or qa string of other entries from previous
indexing, and it is not clear in any help that I have seen how the up-down
arrows and the right and left behave. This has been very frustrating when doing
two or three hundred entries!!

3. After attempting it in OOo and now in Libre - which I like! - I still have
not managed to understand the process for entering hyperlinks in the Indexing
system. If the row of boxes with the E and the # etc were better explained
and it were to say This box is for and is where the start of the
hyperlink goes and similarly for the ending,it might help the elderly llike
me!

4. Autocorrect -
I use it a great deal with shorthand abbreviations to save retyping a lot of
long words and short phrases which recur in the book I am writing, Why is it so
slow to appear and idsappear when you press ALT -T- A and OK to revert to the
document?? It cqn take six or seven seconds, which is not helpful to
productivity

Its a great program and my wife and daughter now use it. Perhaps I am testing
it more, soI would like to hear from someone authoritative if they can spare
the time.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41865] Make Macro recording work without turning Experimental features on (in the Options)

(In reply to comment #2)
Macro recording is **highly** buggy and problematic; perhaps it doesn't crash,
but the macros it uses are really awful, ~impossible to read, often execute in
a fragile way, and this code is a maintenance disaster area.

Might all be true, still people do use it.

Macro recording should continue to be disabled except in experimental mode; it
is not a feature we can stand behind and maintain currently IMHO.

Problem here is that I alone have seen 5 or more people asking how to record
macros/why it does not work.
And then when people need to turn on a switch that activates exerimental code
that may destroy data, I see a problem.
Therefore obviously I opened this issue.

:-) I notice August reverted his commit removing the need for the experimental
 switch in master too (thanks).

Of course - it would be lovely to come up with a complete, holistic macro
recording and replay solution; -but- we need more infrastructure work,
 testing,
robustness etc. to make this work well.

I know the old explanations around this situation, so expect the chances for
this are pretty low ;-)

Oh my, I was badly confused.

The keystrokes ctrl-minus actually insert a soft hyphen, which LO help
text calls definite separator or custom hyphen. I am changing the
summary accordingly and setting the bug status back to UNCONFIRMED.

When my build-in-progress has finished, I shall look at the help text
for non-printing characters. Meanwhile, I find it funny to have two
different renderings, but until I can look at my Writer options, I do
not have an opinion about which rendering is right.

(Note to self ... Repeat twenty-five times: the keystrokes for
non-breaking hyphen are ctrl-shift-minus.)

@Rainer:
I am sorry for contributing noise.

--- Comment #5 from Damon bugz.d...@spamgourmet.com 2011-12-05 07:49:20 PST

I do not see whose fault it is as mattering much.

You may be complying strictly with ODF 1.2, but it is obvious that something in
your output changed when going from version 3.3 to 3.4 that is causing Excel to
choke.

Everyone knows that Microsoft is horrible at following standards, so I suspect
you are correct, it's their bug.

But the important part here is that whatever you implemented in version 3.4 is
breaking the interoperability with Excel. Find a workaround for this, such as
the option of disabling it or saving into ODF version 1.1, which I did not see
as an option.

File exhibits similar behavior reported in bug as well as additional strange
behavior.

The file was from my wife who originally reported having trouble saving frames
in LibreOffice. After failing to save frames in LibreOffice I had her work
with Microsoft Office 2007 to create the frames and save. She was curious and
opened the file afterwards with LibreOffice and once again the frames she
created with MS Office were missing. However, when opening the file with MS
Office or Word viewer the frames and content are all present.

I find this too, using Ubuntu 11.10, Libreoffice 3.4.4. When you add a 3D
ogtrans transition under the transitions pane, the effects do not appear in the
presentation or in the animation preview, and the presentation continues as
though the effect was not added. The standard 2D effects however still work.

I tried to create a new database with a new install of LibreOffice on a Windows
7 64 bit system. I installed using the defaults. I selected database from the
general window. The database program stated. I selected create a new database.
and clicked Next. I did not change the defaults and clicked finish. The
database naming window came up and I left it unchanged and clicked finish. The
wizard and naming window closed and a new window opened. It was initially
transparent and then turned black. It stayed that way for an hour. I closed
the window manually and killed the process. The database file did seem to work
after I reopened it. I tried this with both 3.3.4 and 3.4.4 final. It I did
not wait long enough the database file was not usable. Sorry but I did not
determine how long I needed to wait.

I am pretty sure that this is a user error. You can not do changes that would
touch position of protected contents, so in my Sample0.ods you only can
delete rows/columns below/behind the protected cell.

Help and documentation seem to be a little vague concerning these facts, in the
Calc Manual under Cell protection I read Use the Cell Protection options to
protect cells against certain types of editing

Just stumbled upon this bug. This seems similar to bug #41541 and bug #42660.
In the latter one, I made the installation using group policy, which
essentially means that an unattended installation (possibly using the /qn
switch) takes place.

I do not understand the necessity and reasoning behind installing all language
packs. For that purpose, I am reopening this one in the hope that someone will
modify the installation logic and include *only* the necessary language files.

A FILEOPEN problem is [Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.4.4 - WIN7 Home
Premium (64bit) German UI [Build ID: OOO340m1 (Build:402)], frames below
Match the scenario to the domain it would go under are missing in LibO, but
shown with MS WORD Viewer.

After having saved Chapter15Worksheet.docx as Chapter15Worksheet2.docx with
LibO the frames missing in view with LibO also will miss viewing
Chapter15Worksheet2.docx with MS WORD Viewer, but I doubt that that's an
independent problem.

Still a problem with Server installation of MSVC Master LibO-dev 3.5.0 – WIN7
Home Premium (64bit) ENGLISH UI [Build ID: a286353-090bcba-3bf3b94] Win-x86@6

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41541] LibreOffice very slow to start when installed with /qn option

I noticed that a big amount of files are copied to the \basis\share\registry
and \basis\share\registry\res folders when the installation is made with /qn
options and that the problem can be solved by deleting the aditional files.

Found bug #40481 which indicates the installation of all language files as the
culprit. And there is also bug #42660 in which I made installations using
active directory group policies, which essentially means that an unattended
installation (possibly using the /qn switch) takes place.

Perhaps you'd like to join forces on bug #40481 to have this resolved.
