Jan,

Thanks for offering help!

Basically I have 3 problems:
-not familiar with the LibO code (structure). That why I started on this
easyhack :)
-the button bitmap color changes when you select another cell. it should change
only when you select another color from the pallette. I do not know how to
differentiate between the two in tbcontrl.cxx, nor where the call comes from
(in the case of selecting a cell)
-the left hand button does not change the background color (or font color in
case of the other button). I haven't found out yet how the mechanism works.

I have changed the code in a pre-patch-style (make changes that can be undone
easily, work with trial and error, use fixed values for test (e.g the bitmap
color in the current diff), use printf() to see when what happens.
I am not familiar with gdb, kdbg goes better, but my LibO-development machine
at work is slow and at home I have a new machine which I am still setting up. I
hope to be able to spend some time this weekend on it.

It's a learning process but some hints do help to get myself unstuck ;)
Currently I want to find out how the SID_..._EXT is connected to the
...ExtToolBoxControl as they are registered with SID_... .

Has to be checked with 3.5.0 Beta2

@Mike Van Wormer II:
Please do not submit Bug reports concerning 3.5 Beta0. Some bad luck, that
version "3.5 Beta0" was terrible buggy. I believe it's not useful to do tests
with tat version, please wait for Beta1 (just uploading to mirrors) ad do your
tests with that version (or with Master from
, of course).

Tests with Beta0 are wasted time.

Thank you for your attention, please excuse that we did not remove download

The Record Macro entry is hidden behind the experimental flag because it is
still unstable and not ready for every day use.

Can you add a test document for your second problem or open a new bug report
with a test document?

Winfried: Glad to hear about the progress so far! :-)

Please - can you attach here the patch you have so far? An output of 'git
diff' is perfectly OK for now - so that one can see exactly what you have done.
That will be the easiest way to help to unstuck you.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41524] PRINTING multiple pages printing results in multiple system print jobs

2011-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41524

--- Comment #3 from NoOp 2011-12-15 14:52:05 PST ---
I have both 3.3.4 and 3.4.4 installed so I can test in parallel. 3.3.4 prints
properly (1 job, multiple pages) as long as the 'Collate' option is
checked in the print dialog. Unchecking 'Collate' and printing results
in multiple print jobs as expected. So as to not waste ink, just test by
printing to a cups-pdf printer.

In 3.4.4 it's as if the 'Collate' feature doesn't exist. 3.4.4 prints
multiple print jobs whether the 'Collate' option is checked or not.

Ubuntu 10.10 linux: versions are directly from LO.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43870] New: EDITING: Calc AutoInput broken

2011-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43870

 Bug #: 43870
   Summary: EDITING: Calc AutoInput broken
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Beta1
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: nn.l...@kflog.org

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. create new spreadsheet doc
2. enter a word in cell A1, e.g. "elephant" (w/o quotes)
3. try to enter a different word in cell A2, e.g. "environment"

Current behavior:
After typing the "e", "elephant" is auto-completed without the possibility to
accept/change it. You are not allowed to enter a different entry to that cell
without disabling AutoInput.

Expected behavior:
As in earlier versions: offer the choice to accept AutoCompleted suggestion,
scroll between different suggestions by TAB or dismiss them and continue typing
a new entry.

Platform (if different from the browser): Linux rpm 32-bit

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0

This fix works for a time.

I am wondering if a java upgrade would help fix this issue?

Has anyone had any luck with this issue at all?

Well, you didn't attach any example, i made one in Microsoft Office Excel, I
put an image as a header, i saved it, and I opened it with LibreOffice in
spanish 3.4 running on Windows 7 32 bits.
My result is that the image is not displayed when you open it with libreoffice,
so i can say it is a reproducible bug.

Hi Paul,

(In reply to comment #0)

> Steps to reproduce:
> Run Mail Merge
> Create new document
> In Document, insert a default header
> Edit header, add a few blank lines
> Add an image into the header
> Add text into rest of document
> run mail merge, print or create merged document

I do your steps above, and for the last one:
  Tools > Mail merge Wizard
  Jump to step 8
  > crash

So confirmed on Ubuntu, in my case with 3.5.0 beta1
Thanks for your report!

Nailed it down to: It crashes if a presentation object has got a custom
animation.

Take new presentation with a layout, that has outline text or title.
Write some lines into the outline text.
Apply a custom animation to the outline text, for example a "Fly in".
Start the presentation mode ==> crash

@David re comment #47:

"I've love to have the time-expertise to hack around, but I don't. I'm going to
have to move to good old-fashioned handwriting for my Christmas card
envelopes."

Try this workaround: In Writer select the data sources (F4). Right-click in the
data source (where Bibliography is) and select 'Registered databases'. Click
'New' and browse to where your existing .odb is located. Select the .odb &
click OK. Verfify that it works by selecting the database and viewing Tables.
If so, from there you should be able to File|New|Label|Labels|Database and
select the database that you just added. Note: I can't get File|New|Label to
work from Writer, I have to go back to the main menu and select it from there.
But I reckon that's another bug report...

Hi Steven,
Sorry for not replying before.
When your document has two pages, they will be numbered odd-even-odd-even...

Writer assumes that every first page is uneven.
See also the options at Tools >Options > Writer > Printing ...
So this is not a bug, but with design.

Please...

- Open Writer
- Enter the word "Test"
- Press the bullet button
- Save as "Microsoft Word 97/200/XP/2003 (.doc)"
- Close and Reopen the document.

Note: There is a nojn-standard special bullet. Opening in Word gives the same
result which indicates that this is a bug of the export filter.

I can reproduce this bug with "LibreOffice 3.4.4 Portable MultilingualNormal".

But I CANNOT reproduce it with "LibO_3.4.4_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US".

Thus I don't know if it is a general bug of the windows build or only a bug of
the portable build.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41524] PRINTING multiple pages printing results in multiple system print jobs

2011-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41524

--- Comment #2 from Don 2011-12-15 11:20:54 PST ---
I have the same problem. I'm running LibreOffice (version directly from
LibreOffice) 3.4.4 on Ubuntu 11.10. I tried printing 75 copies of a single
sheet with significant graphics (large file size) on a black and white
Konica-Minolta PagePro 1400w laser printer. I had no idea that LibreOffice
would be sending 75 individual print jobs to the printer instead of 1 print job
with 75 copies. It crashed the printer, and also the driver after several
copies. Then there was the horrendous mess of getting all of the unprinted jobs
deleted. I was able to use my inkjet (HP OfficeJet Pro 8000) to finish the
printing after the laser crashed. Once again individual print jobs were sent
for each copy, but the printer did not crash. Once everything was printed, I
had about 10 minutes of icons coming on the screen saying printing started and
printing completed when the printing was all done. The icons were playing
catchup with all of the print jobs. I've tried to research this. The only way
I've found that you can print a large number of copies is to export the page to
pdf, and then print the pdf. Programs other than LibreOffice (GEdit, Document
Viewer) send 1 job to the printer with multiple copies. This problem did not
exist in OpenOffice a year ago with whatever was the current version of
openoffice on Ubuntu 10.10 back then when I printed the same job on the same
laser printer.

Hi Rainer,

Are you sure you uploaded the right test kit? Your file is named "test -
Kopie.zip" and it is in fact an .odt.

That said, I observed several time the problem you describe, but until now, I
am not able to obtain a clear scenario.

Best regards. JBF

Known Problem "Bug 42914 - Terminal (command) window is opened when launching
any executable". Fixed in Beta1 and Master.

@Mike Van Wormer II:
Thank you for your attention, please excuse that we did not remove download
information timely

An example of the list that is causing this error

When creating a list of items, it appears an unexpected indent in the 13th
element, the "m" element. This happens if I use letters for the numbering.

I have added an attachment to show this problem.

P/S: sorry me for my bad english...

Hi Markus.
Doesn't work, even with relative references, specialy when saved under .xls:
works, then I save the document, then close it, reopen it and REF inserted in
place of formula.
Tried even with OpenOffice: same bug.

2. Close document
3. Open with LibO 3.4.4
   Expected: page margins all 5mm

As expected, when you save document with 3.4.4, 3.5 will show 20-0-20-20mm

LibO 3.3.3 portable and OOo 3.1.1 show the same margins as LibO 3.4.4 for

--- Comment #4 from Don 2011-12-15 09:58:41 PST ---
I'm running LibreOffice (version directly from LibreOffice) 3.4.4 on Ubuntu
11.10. I tried printing 75 copies of a single sheet with significant graphics
(large file size) on a black and white Kinoca-Minolta PagePro 1400w laser
printer. I had no idea that LibreOffice would be sending 75 individual print
jobs to the printer instead of 1 print job with 75 copies. It crashed the
printer, and also the driver after several copies. Then there was the
horrendous mess of getting all of the unprinted jobs deleted. I was able to
use my inkjet (HP OfficeJet 8000) to finish the printing after the laser
crashed. Once again individual print jobs were sent for each copy. Once
everything was printed, I had about 10 minutes of icons coming on the screen
saying printing started and printing completed when the printing was all done.
The icons were playing catchup with all of the print jobs. I've tried to
research this. The only way I've found that you can print a large number of
copies is to export the page to pdf, and then print the pdf. Programs other
than LibreOffice (GEdit, Document Viewer) send 1 job to the printer with
multiple copies. This problem did not exist in OpenOffice a year ago with
whatever was the current version of openoffice on Ubuntu 10.10 back then when I
