In our case we create the RTF with Apache FOP, see
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=51484. We can
work-around the issue there, but according to my understanding of the spec that
I found at http://www.biblioscape.com/rtf15_spec.htm#Heading27, this seems to
be a problem in LibreOffice.

@sasha:
Migt be a feature and not a bug?
When I enter a Textbox-X, leave OLE object, Type 1234, I can undo that
1234 with the undo icon immediately or,when I enter the OLE object, the undo
icon wil undo the x. That looks like independent undo stacks, and that IMHO
is rather useful.

What do you think?

Illustrate steps

Hello,
I searched for this bug, I didn't find anything related to this problem.

When I creat a table with several cells merged. When I want to optimise 2
columns sizes the whole table is affected.

Steps to reproduce

- Creat a table with 3 rowa and 8 columns
- Merge some columns
- Ajust some columns sizes
- Select 2 rows and 2 columns
- Click Optimize - Distribute column Evenly

See attached file.

Sorry, if ever, this issue is a duplicate.

Thanks for working on it.

Bunty

If user intendedly changes OLE object, then this is indeed feature. But in this
bugreport is another situation:
User unintendedly (accidentally) scrolled OLE object (not changed). Initial
document becomes look different. And user press Ctrl+Z to restore it initial
look. But nothing happens.
I expected that using Undo I can restore document to it initial look (state).
My be all changes inside of OLE can appear as one step of undo outside of OLE.

behaviour. And if it is feature, then is serious need in new option to disable

http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#General_information

ANumber of columns problem is [Reproducible] with Parallel Dev-Installation
of LibreOffice 3.5.0 Beta2- WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) English UI [Build-ID :
8589e48-760cc4d-f39cf3d-1b2857e-60db978]. Opening the sample document with MS
WORD Viewer I see 2 columns. Opened with Beta2 and also 3.4.5 document show

version.

I will have to check for DUPs, currently Bugzilla is grunding :-(

@Cor
For other problems (Page orientation) please open separate Bugs with reference
to sample documents here.

For the crash problem I submited 44381 - FILEOPEN particular .docx causes

(In reply to comment #67)
 hello,

 I re-openend https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36681.

For an average user this bug is very confusing and dissapointing. Should
be corrected before releasing a new version. I also did see it in the
 main-build, 3.6.

I agree that it is quite annoying = adding here. Well, I am not if we will be
able to fix it. Random bugs are always hard to cope with.

2012-01-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

 Bug #: 44383
Summary: cut plus paste special with move cells incorrectly
updates formulas
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: o...@dci-electronics.nl

Created attachment 55043
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=55043
document to illustrate the described problem

This bug is a bit difficult to show because of bug 42265, but can be reproduced
by using a macro that bypasses the problem of bug 42265.

-use the simple document that I have attached;
-select columns D,E,F;
-cut;
-select cell A1;
-use paste special with 'move cells to right' or use following basic macro with
the following code to bypass the disabled option problem:
  sub insCol
dim document as object
dim dispatcher as object

document   = ThisComponent.CurrentController.Frame
dispatcher = createUnoService(com.sun.star.frame.DispatchHelper)

dim args2(5) as new com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue
args2(0).Name = Flags
args2(0).Value = A
args2(1).Name = FormulaCommand
args2(1).Value = 0
args2(2).Name = SkipEmptyCells
args2(2).Value = false
args2(3).Name = Transpose
args2(3).Value = false
args2(4).Name = AsLink
args2(4).Value = false
args2(5).Name = MoveMode
args2(5).Value = 1

dispatcher.executeDispatch(document, .uno:InsertContents, , 0, args2())
  end sub 'insCol
-note that the formulas that were in C1 and C2 and are now in F1 and F2 no
longer produce the sum of the two cells to their left.

Bug is also present in master, and occurs with Windows and with Linux.
I suspect a connection with bugs 42261 and 27987 as these also report problems
after inserting/delting/moving columns/rows.

 A1+A3+A6

is supported in named range, and it contains 3 disjoint references, but

A1;A3;A5 (or A1,A3,A5 depending on your locale)

is not a valid named range.

I disagree (in part) with this.
(A1;A3;A5) or A1~A3~A5 or (A1:A3;B5:B7) are valid named range.
They cannot be defined with mouse but entered manualy.

You can also use multiple cells range in formula (excepted array formula)

2012-01-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44372

--- Comment #3 from Fady feedo...@yahoo.com 2012-01-02 07:18:10 PST ---
Created attachment 55046
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=55046
the attached file is a newly written document using libO

- I mean by what is expected is that when you create a document and you save it
and you open it, it should be as it was saved but when you find that all your
work is corrupted as the attached files this is the unexpected.
- The file was written and saved by MS WORD 2007 and when I opened it with libO
it appeared as the attached document.
- I wrote the file again using libO, I used all the options in the program as
the following:
1- I chose the format of the document to be A4 not a letter.
2- I saved the file as Microsoft Word Document 2007 XML.docx
3- I began typing and I pressed ctrl+S couple of times to save my progress.
4- I used the numbers and the bullets options to insert the numbers and
bullets.
5- I used the spacing option to make the spaces between paragraphs using line
spacing 1.5 and 2
6- I inserted the photo using the insert menu Picture from file
and then I chose the photo and I edited it using the options wrap through
and checked the background option in order to move it freely.
- about my pc: it's Pentium 4 with 3 GHZ and 2 MB cache memory and 2 GB of ram
and a stand alone PCI express with 512 MB and western digital hard drive with
160 GB and a samsung DVD writer.
- about my OS: it's Ubuntu 11.04 english united states and I installed the
arabic language on it in order to use arabic keyboard.
- I launched libO from the Launcher and I opened the sample document by double
clicking on it and some other times by launching libO and choosing file
open.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44385] New: BASIC: Incorrect type returned for date math

2012-01-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44385

 Bug #: 44385
Summary: BASIC: Incorrect type returned for date math
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: and...@pitonyak.org

Problem description:
DateValue(Now + 2) fails in a macro because Now + 2 returns as a double
rather than as a date. The same is true for Now - 2.

This bug was introduced by Noel Power 06-Dec-2010 with commit
1421b098ae19a10acb4836fa3752188cf7c52eb2 (thank you Regina for looking that up
for me, I do not know how to check that)

The problem is found in file:
core/basic/source/sbx/sbxvalue.cxx

There is a switch statement around line 1312. Following the switch statement,
there used to be the following code:

 // #45465 Date braucht bei + eine Spezial-Behandlung
if( eOp == SbxPLUS  (GetType() == SbxDATE || rOp.GetType() == SbxDATE ) )
  aL.eType = SbxDATE;

I am not an expert on these things, but, it looks like the checks to see if
either operand is a date, and, if so, sets the type to be date. This was done
after PLUS, EXP, MUL, DIV, MINUS, and NEG.

That line was removed and added after PLUS as a comment, so, I assume that NOEL
was unsure why it was required. Still waiting on input from NOEL.

I speculate that this was done as part of clean-up because this check was
performed every time. Off hand, I can not think of why you might do this for
anything other than PLUS or MINUS, but, this breaks existing macros. so I would
call this a regression bug.

I reproduced this on a Fedora Linux system (64-bit), but, I expect this to
affect all platforms.

The picture wrap and issue is a DUP of Bug 39802 - Wrapping Style is not
correct when open a docx file.

I tried to reproduce the bullets problem with LibO 3.5.0Beta2, but I failed.

Other bugs are not obvious visible for me.

@Fady:
I hope these beginner problems are not too daunting for you.
In your comments still a clear and obvious description is missing. Of ocurse

Please submit separate reports for every bug!
 http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#General_information
Please feel free to report separate bugs for other problems (bullet list, ...)
you see in your document with a reference to your sample document here, but I
recommend to create new sample documents: you should reduce your sample
documents to the relevant part and for FILESAVE problems please attach the ODF
source, that eases to find out the roots of the problem.

Some examples for bug reports what are as short as possible but although
containing all relevant information might be Bug 44040, Bug 43705.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44387] New: double shadow on rectangle shape

2012-01-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

 Bug #: 44387
Summary: double shadow on rectangle shape
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: All

ReportedBy: bor...@web.de

Created attachment 55047
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=55047
Example picture of the double shadow

Bug in LibreOffice Draw

Under some circumstances a double shadow is drawn, like you can see in the
attached pictuture shadow-example.

Steps for reproduction:
* create a rectangle with the basic shapes menu
* open the styles and formatting menu (F11)
* modify default style
* select shadowing tab and check use shadow

You can also create a new style, which base on the default one.

The expacted behavior is that you can see a simple shadow below the rectangle.
Another weird behavior is, when you disable the shadow over the format-area
menu you get a simple shadow. Although no shadow should be visible, now.

This bug is not triggered, when you add the shadow over the format-area menu,
or when you use another shape.

Also this bug did not occure with version 3.4.3. I can only reproduce it with
3.4.4 (both are release version, on windows and Linux)

Printing with printer language PDF or exporting to PDF a document with form
elements, the resulting PDF has added further text to the side of form elements
('checkbox',...).

Exporting to actual PDF forms, this does not happen. The graphical
representation of the elements changes, however.

Printing with printer language PS does not include that additional text either.

or if Excel works the same.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44389] New: UI: Certain cursor move and range selection keyboard shortcuts do not work when entering formulae

2012-01-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44389

 Bug #: 44389
Summary: UI: Certain cursor move and range selection keyboard
shortcuts do not work when entering formulae
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All

 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: edmund_ey...@hotmail.com

LibO on Windows XP.

You can use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+Arrow to move in any of the four arrow
directions to the end of the current data range, and Ctrl+Shift+Arrow to select
from the current cell to the end of the data range. You would expect this to
work when entering a formula: the formula-editing process allows you to move to
and select cells whose references are then inserted into the formula.

However, when entering a formula, none of Ctrl+Down Arrow, Ctrl+Up Arrow,
Ctrl+Shift+Down Arrow and Ctrl+Shift+Up Arrow work correctly: they move to or
select to the edge of the spreadsheet, not the end of the data range.

Strangely, all of Ctrl+Left Arrow, Ctrl+Right Arrow, Ctrl+Shift+Left Arrow and
Ctrl+Shift+Right Arrow do all work correctly: they move to or select to the end
of the data range.

I tried to create a new user, logged in as this new user, started Calc with K
symbol - applications office calc.

Within the blank sheet proposed by Calc when starting, i input 1/1/1700 in
cell A1 and after hitting enter, the value displayed is 12/31/99

Localisation is standard English-US for interface and documents.

So neither my profile nor the localisation in French seems to be the origin of
the problem.

Steps how to reproduce with Parallel Dev-Installation of LibreOffice 3.5.0
Beta2 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) English UI [Build-ID :
8589e48-760cc4d-f39cf3d-1b2857e-60db978]:

1. Open attached sample document
2. Click into A1 if necessary
3. Arrowdown to reach cell A2
Expected:perfect view of 15 In input pane
Actual: small artifact in open arc of the 5

It's a general Master problem, IMHO related to multi row input line.

I did not observe the problem with a Master build from 2011-09-06 without
multirow input line.

The effect is not 100% reproducible, sometimes expected artifact will not
appear.

No problem when you reach the cells by mouseclick

Anti aliasing and hardware acceleration are without influence.

Please change the default/automatic icon theme from Tango to Galaxy on windows.
Although it won't look like other GTK programs on windows, it will make LO look
more like a native windows program (as it should).

OS/Version: All

 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: harald-koes...@htp-tel.de

Problem description:

These bugs (Editing, Remains) occur, if the option Tools, Options...,
LibreOffice Writer, View, Display, Tables is disabled. I described them here
together because I guess that there is close relation between these two bugs.

Steps in order to reproduce the bug Editing:
[1] Create a new text document.
[2] Insert a table.
[3] Disable option Display Tables. The table is replaced by a grey box, the
content of the table is no longer visible.
Comment: This box is not really a bug, but to my opinion it is not satisfying.
A display similar to a non-displayed graphics would be better.
[4] Click into different cells of the non-displayed table and type in
characters. The text cursor and several lines and boxes are displayed during
this action! The typed-in characters are not displayed but they are inserted
into the non-displayed table. You can view it if you enable the display of
tables again. A nice feature, but surely not intended!

Steps in order to reproduce the bug Remains:
[1] Create a new text document.
[2] Insert a table.
[3] Disable option Display Tables. The table is replaced by a grey box, the
content of the table is no longer visible.
[4] Remains of UI elements (lines and boxes) are left under different
conditions inside the non-displayed table:
(a) Open a context menu (right-click) so that this menu is displayed above the
table and close it again.
(b) Scroll down the document with the mouse wheel, so that the table is no
longer visible and scroll up again.
(c) Scroll down and up by using the scroll bar (slowly).
(d) Move the table to the top of the working area. Select an item of the menu
bar and move the mouse pointer along the menu bar, so that the displayed menus
change and are displayed above the table.
(e) Enable the option Tips (Tools - Options - LibreOffice - General -
Help), if disabled. Move the mouse pointer above the non-displayed table
(slowly). Tips relating to the non-displayed table are displayed! Remains of
the tip boxes remain visible.

Reproductible using your macro with both LibO 3.4.4 and 3.5.0 beta2 running on
windows vista.

But not reproduce using shorcuts :
1. Select column D E F
2. Cursor in one cell of those columns
3. Drag in the first column with mouse
4. Press Alt key before drop.

This way, I have expected result with both versions.

We have been waiting for this many years! Please fix this as this is very
important in multilangual environments. Please implement it as in MS Excel
where we can specify thousand separator and decimal separator. Guessing or
suggestions to use US English is not appropriate because we receive files in
every possible combination of separators, e.g, space or apostroph as thousands
separator and comma or dot as a decimal separator.

LibO on Windows XP.

When you open the Format Cells dialog for a cell you have not previously
formatted, the 'Format' is preselected as General, and the 'Decimal places'
is preselected as 0. This is contradictory: the General format has no defined
number of decimal places, and will display as many decimal places as the value
has that is in the cell (up to a point). Furthermore this presentation may
lead the user to think that he/she can set the decimal places to zero just by
pressing Return on this dialog presented in this state, but this, of course,
does not set the decimal places.

I would suggest that this dialog contains a blank value for 'Decimal places'
when 'Format' is General.

At this point I expect, that the ruler and the scroll bar change back their
