https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44260 --- Comment #16 from Petr Mladek pmla...@suse.cz 2012-01-12 05:24:54 PST --- I am not sure if I understand the diff correctly. I see this diff format for the first time. Also it does not help that it is in German ;-) My understanding is that the left 3 columns describe the old (broken) configuration and the 3 columns on the right describe the new (working) configuration. Also, I guess that the word keine means that the file in missing. So, one big difference is that the new configuration does not include javasettings_Windows_x86.xml. It might mean that Java is disabled, some functionality is not used. I wonder if some java stuff might trigger the crash again if you configure it. Another difference is that the new configuration includes just en-US config files. The old configuration included localized config files for de, en-GB, en-ZA. I am not sure if this could make any difference, though. One easy test might be if you use the working configuration, copy the missing files there and try to run LO. It would be great if you could do it in two steps. Just copy the java configuration in the first stage (or configure it via Tool/Options/LibreOffice/Java). Then you could copy the missing *.so? files in the second test round. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37860 --- Comment #27 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com 2012-01-12 06:16:01 PST --- 5) The toggle option does not sound like a sound approach. If anything, there should be a toggle to turn on the current default, not to turn on what has been the default for more than a decade. That's no problem; we can add a toggle option that is a per-document setting, and is set to 'on' for older documents that we import :-) Of course - what is required is for someone to work on the easy hack; IMHO it'd be better to separate that work from this bug - since this bug is (by now) long and tangled, with good and more mixed ideas in it: eg. the idea of new file extensions is a vast pain in the backside more than can be imagined, and isn't going to happen :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44720] New: EasyHack: compatibility options for older spreadsheets ...
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44720 Bug #: 44720 Summary: EasyHack: compatibility options for older spreadsheets ... Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: michael.me...@novell.com bug #37860# has some complaints about changes to behaviour of some corner cases in calculation to make us more interoperable. It would be good to add some per-document settings that are tweak-able to allow these things to be altered. I snip Kohei's description: [snip] The goal: introduce a configuration option to toggle this behavior in an user-friendly way. One idea is to use the Formula options page to add such option. But consult with the UX people on the libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org to get their opinion on how such configuration option should be introduced. ... Also, there are other conflicting formula behaviors between OOo and Excel, so it's probably best to make such option extensible to make it easier to add more configuration options in the future. ... Code pointer: Formula interpreter: * sc is the module where all the Calc code is kept, including the formula interpreter code (look for class ScInterpreter). * ScInpterpreter::GetCellValueOrZero() is the method that gets called to retrieve the value of another cell. This method is relevant for this easy hack. Configuration options: * This configuration option should be stored with the document, so look for ScDocOptions class to add a new document configuration option (also in sc). It has one child class ScDocCfg, which handles loading and storing of the options from and to the user configuration directory. Add the new option to the aFormulaItem member. * Now, every user configuration option needs to be defined in the officecfg module. Look for officecfg/registry/schema/org/openoffice/Office/Calc.xcs. The new option should be under the Formula group. UI: * First, you need ask on libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org about how best to add this new configuration option in the UI - no subscription is required. * Tab pages for Calc related options pages are all located in sc/source/ui/optdlg. I hope this is enough pointer to get started. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37361] LibreOffice 3.5 most annoying bugs
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37361 --- Comment #90 from Tor Lillqvist tlillqv...@suse.com 2012-01-12 06:48:52 PST --- I am still confused about the usage of nominate here. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/nominate says it has two meanings: 1) To name someone as a candidate for a particular role or position, including that of an office. and 2) (obsolete) To entitle, confer a name upon. So, when people nominate a bug for the coveted Most Annoying membership, does that mean they 1) suggest it as a candidate for being Most Annoying, i.e. invite discussion whether it is or not? Or that they 2) directly entitle it, say that it *is* a Most Annoying bug? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. I think that the main confusion is whether to update bug dependencies together with the explanation comment or wait for someone to accept it. My suggestion is to update dependencies immediately if you are pretty sure that it is annoying for many users. You could just leave a comment if you are not sure. It is how it works now and I think that it works well. I agree with Rainer that we do not want long discussions about every bug. Most people nominate reasonable bugs. This is why the initial comment suggest to add the dependency immediately. By other words, both approaches are good. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44702] SVG import broken, imports as rendered image, not objects
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44702 --- Comment #3 from mathog mat...@caltech.edu 2012-01-12 08:25:06 PST --- Not valid? Under 3.4.4 insert -picture - from file does: open SVG and import as objects Under 3.5.0b2 insert-picture-from file does: open SVG and import as an uneditable image The behavior is completely different. Either it is a bug or a change in design. If the latter, why that change, and where is it documented? (It isn't in the release notes, as far as I can tell.) Every drawing program that I can think of with a similar open picture from file option acts on SVG, cgm, etc. by importing them as objects, not as a bitmap. If the file was imported as objects it could always then be exported as a bitmap, but the inverse operation isn't possible. So the behavior in 3.5.0b2 is a loss of function. File - open on SVG files is so unreliable that I gave up using it under 3.4.4. 3.5.0b2 is the same. It only works on the simplest of drawings, and when it fails there is never a clue why. Either nothing comes in, or the general error results. Very strange that under 3.4.4 insert-picture-from file will work (perhaps not well, but at least it always did something) when file-open does not. One would assume they use the same code. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44732 Bug #: 44732 Summary: EasyHack: linking / PDF import cleanups Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Libreoffice AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: michael.me...@novell.com Currently we have to build two copies of 'basegfx' in order to link one dymamically, and one statically into the PDF import plugin. The latter used to be an extension we'd ship separately, but for LibreOffice this is always built-in so the separate library is un-necessary. So: what needs doing ? :-) The pdf importer is in sdext/source/pdfimport/ - we need to turn it, from an extension, into a normal component, and link against a non-static version of basegfx. That involves a few tweaks to the makefile.mk to drop rules that create the .oxt and tweak the linking a little. [ the dmake includes that make all those rules work are in solenv/inc/ ]. It would be worth re-basing that top-level makefile.mk on eg. ucb/source/ucp/webdav/makefile.mk - that generates a component that will be bundled. Then we need to tweak 'scp2' to distribute the shared library instead of the extension; git grep for 'dav' in scp2 to see how to do that. Finally we need to register this built-in component in: postprocess/packcomponents/makefile.mk if it is enabled. Test compiling from clean is prolly a good idea to check it. Thanks ! :-) it should clean the code, and shrink the install size too. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44585] Downloading libreoffice is too complicated
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44585 --- Comment #2 from Andreas Nilsson nisses.m...@home.se 2012-01-12 11:37:06 UTC --- (In reply to comment #1) I bewlieve it's not really complicated, but some behavior is non-standard, and at many places explication is missing It is over the phone. :) 2. The green check button explains nothing for someone who is here the first time, especially when all are green. Start Texts for 3.4.4: Current stable version, suitabl for most users users. Before downloading, please ... for 3.3.5: Stable version for conservative users, focus on reliable function of old documents and proven templates. Before downloading, please ... So every user can see the difference. Yes, the round check icons needs to go, they serve no purpose. I think part of the problem here is that the two versions are offered as equal, when most users are better of with 3.4.4, I would optimize for this and have it say something along the lines of go here for other versions... 3. An explication for what the helppack is needed is missing on the download page If more text is added, some other text needs to be killed, because it's already too much text already on the page. 7. Difference between _all_lang.exe and _install_multi.exe needs explication. Yes! We should not show then filenames here, but rather a descriptive name of what it is. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

The default width is 0.25 and the reseted line border width is 1.2 (here).
