--- Comment #1 from Jean-Baptiste Faure jbf.fa...@orange.fr 2012-01-29
00:54:39 PST ---
I do not reproduce with LibreOffice 3.4.5 nor LO 3.5.0 rc2+ under Ubuntu 11.10.
For 3.4.5 I have checked both Ubuntu and vanilla versions, both open the pdf
file when I give the password.

Please update your version to current release and try again.

Best regards. JBF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45360] New: FILESAVE: Saving and loading a presentation results in formatting changes

2012-01-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45360

 Bug #: 45360
   Summary: FILESAVE: Saving and loading a presentation results in
formatting changes
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: josephsonjunct...@gmail.com

Problem description:
When I create a presentation, and specifically one from the slide designs,
add content, save it, close impress and then reopen the file - the formatting
(font, bullet shape) of the slides change.

Specifically, the sub item formatting in the list (title, content layout)
changes.

Steps to reproduce:
1. open impress, next on empty presentation
2. choose noise paper presentation background and create
3. add a title, content type slide
4. add some items and sub-items (with tab)
5. notice font and bullet shape of sub-items (bullet is a brown dash)
6. save, close impress
7. reopen impress, open file.
8. notice sub-item formatting (bullet now black dot, font changed)

I have attached a sample file, with 2 pdfs: one exported RIGHT AFTER THE SAVE,
and one exported RIGHT AFTER RELOAD. Notice differences in slide 2 sub-items

Current behavior:
the reopened presentation is different than the saved one

Expected behavior:
the reopened presentation is the identical to the saved one

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Ubuntu; X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/9.0.1

 [Problem]

 It needs to wait for quite a while to paste (Actually I didn't see its
 successful paste in 6 mins standing by, and still waiting).

The waiting time here is about 13 minutes with Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU
T9550  @ 2.66GHz.

It works for me in LibreOffice 3.4.5 under ubuntu 11.10. I have checked both
the version provided by Ubuntu (Oneiric_proposed repository) and the vanilla
version.

What is also interesting is that the defect is reproducible with LO 3.5.0 rc2+

Cédric: please, could you have a look? Feel free to reassign if you can't
handle this bug.

[Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.4.5 German UI [Build ID: OOO340m1

Some further investigation showed that each of following text lines causes the
crash:
Also single words from the pages in that languages (i tested bn, bo) cause the
crash.
Has nothing to do with wiki or copy paste, even a simple fileopen of a document
containing listed strings causes the crash (see attached sample)
Also Calc is affected (see attached sample)!

Regression: no crash with LibreOffice Portable 3.3.0 - WIN7 Home Premium

@Franz Gstättner, Urmas:
Your OS is?

@András:
It seems that LibO is currently not suitable for several Asian languages. So we
should try to fix that also for 3.4.6.

I checked for TIBETAN UI and reproduced Bug 44208. Can you please check whether
your fix (also for for Bug 45107) also covers languages in subject line (to be
on the safe side)? With a little luck your fix also will fix this problem here
(or can help to find how to solve this problem for 3.4)

MSO 2007 import result.

The original document layout is mostly arranged by Tab.

Ye, they look like not aligned exactly the same between LibO and MSO. But
considering non printable characters, I didn't see any inappropriate of
importing.

So even different fonts could bring such a not so tidy layout.

Attaching mso import result for reference.

I'm sorry, but the same effects with libreoffice-3.4.5.2-1.fc16.x86_64: I enter
the correct password (if I'm asked for), but then the opened document contains
only a text field with: This PDF file is encrypted and can't be opened.

Perhaps this depends on my installed LO language package:
libreoffice-langpack-de-3.4.5.2-1.fc16.x86_64?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42543] Report Designer Wizard missing Label display and editing capability

2012-01-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42543

--- Comment #16 from Julien Nabet serval2...@yahoo.fr 2012-01-29 02:54:58 PST
---
(In reply to comment #15)
 The first bt (attachment 56205 [details]) is interesting:

  dbtools::throwGenericSQLException (_rMsg=There exists no query named
 \Adresse\. ...)

 Some code tries to use a query named:
  Adresse.
 insted of just:
  Adresse

 So we have to hunt where that extra dot comes from and hopefully this will
 solve this bug!

I put a breakpoint on RowSet just before the message :
(gdb) b RowSet.cxx:2382
Breakpoint 1 at 0x7f7c39cc31d5: file
/home/julien/compile-libreoffice/libo/dbaccess/source/core/api/RowSet.cxx, line
2382.
(gdb) c
...
Breakpoint 1, dbaccess::ORowSet::impl_buildActiveCommand_throw (this=0x353d360)
at
/home/julien/compile-libreoffice/libo/dbaccess/source/core/api/RowSet.cxx:2382
2382sMessage.SearchAndReplaceAscii( $table$,
m_aCommand );
(gdb) print m_aCommand
$1 = Adresse
(gdb) n
2383throwGenericSQLException(sMessage,*this);
(gdb) print sMessage
$2 = There exists no query named \Adresse\.

So m_aCommand seems ok, it's just the message which shows this . in extra.

BTW : I got a log of segmentation faults where trying to gdb the report part.

 I'm sorry, but the same effects with libreoffice-3.4.5.2-1.fc16.x86_64: I
 enter
 the correct password (if I'm asked for), but then the opened document contains
 only a text field with: This PDF file is encrypted and can't be opened.

 Perhaps this depends on my installed LO language package:
 libreoffice-langpack-de-3.4.5.2-1.fc16.x86_64?

Surely. Please try with the vanilla version :

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)

  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=56284
Document demonstrating the bug.

When viewing the attached image from Word 2007, the picture of Alice holding a
flamingo is not visible. The author presumably used a previous document
announcing a children's theater presentation of Alice In Wonderland as a basis
for creating a similar announcement for Snow White.

Win32 v3.4.4 also exhibits the same bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45364] New: DLL search order wrong when safe DLL search mode is ON (default)

2012-01-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45364

 Bug #: 45364
   Summary: DLL search order wrong when safe DLL search mode is ON
(default)
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: heinz.r...@arcor.de

Replacing a dll (libeay32.dll) in my GnuWin32 bin directory (which is in the
search path) I found out that it was in use by soffice.bin. LibreOffice comes
with its own libeay32.dll in Installdir/program, but that is not used.

My system is a german WinXP Pro SP3, but this should happen on almost all newer
Windows versions beginning with XP SP2, because:

On newer Windows Microsoft introduced the safe DLL search mode
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms682586%28v=vs.85%29.aspx),
which is ON by default on everything newer than XP SP1, and this puts the local
directory later in the search path to circumvent certain security concerns
especially with web servers. For local programs to be able to load their own
DLLs they have to issue a SetDllDirectory call
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms686203(v=vs.85).aspx)
before loading the dynamic libraries. soffice.bin seems not to do so, however
it should.

There is a (severe?) security issue connected: when an attacker successfully
places a rogue dll anywhere in the default dll search path (or adds the
directory with his rogue dll to this path before soffice starts), soffice will
happily load the attackers dll and not its own safe version.

IMPRESS presentation - also fails

Try this version of the file as well

In the past 10 minutes or so I have opened this file on three occasions, and it
has 'crashed' on me each time.

This is different from my previous example upload of the file as I have done no
actions on the file - all I wanted to do was continue editing it but when I
scroll down using the mouse or page down using the page keys, it gets to about
slide 10 and then hangs up.
To recover I then have to do a FORCE QUIT, so the top left options are still
'live' (the X, _ and [square] at the top left of the screen for Ubuntu).

Screenshot of plot, can see white data points ontop of blue/red ones after
saving/opening xls. Also shows secondary axis labels over primary axis labels.

Problem description:

a. Colour of third data set in chart always saves as white
b. Secondary axis value labels imposed over primary axis

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create scatter plot with three sets of Y values
2. Save as xls
3. Open xls, third data set is coloured white
4. Recolour, save, open, still white.

Current behaviour:
Third data set always coloured white when saved to xls

Expected behaviour:
Colour of data points should be saved correctly.

  I'm sorry, but the same effects with libreoffice-3.4.5.2-1.fc16.x86_64: I
  enter
  the correct password (if I'm asked for), but then the opened document
  contains
  only a text field with: This PDF file is encrypted and can't be opened.

  Perhaps this depends on my installed LO language package:
  libreoffice-langpack-de-3.4.5.2-1.fc16.x86_64?

 Surely. Please try with the vanilla version :

This leads to some inconsistencies if I try to install all packages after
unpacking the tar.gz containers:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45370] New: EDITING: some formulae fail to update when data is deleted

2012-01-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45370

 Bug #: 45370
   Summary: EDITING: some formulae fail to update when data is
deleted
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 RC2
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: john.pr...@cantab.net

Created attachment 56290
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=56290
First attachment

When deleting an area of data only some of the formulae which reference that
data update (somtimes).

The first attachment is an old file, but the second one is a new version
(same/similar formulae, but created from scratch in 3.5.0rc2).

This seems to be a reliable way to make it happen:
1) Open either of the attached spreadsheets
2) Highlight cells A1:B9 and copy
3) Place cursor on A10 and paste
4) Highlight A1:B18 and press delete (on the keyboard)

Result: C10:C18 disply the text test test
Expected result: C10:C18 display the text .

Alternative step 4:
4) Undo the previous action

Result: C10:C18 disply the text test test
Expected result: C10:C18 display the text .

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42684] FILEOPEN very slow, network/dns related, it takes about 15 minutes

2012-01-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42684

--- Comment #22 from mboh...@gmail.com 2012-01-29 07:53:52 PST ---
I just installed Kubuntu 12.04 alpha1.
It contains LibreOffice 3.5.0beta2, and there the file opens fine again,
without any delays, and without having to change any contents

Thanks a lot for fixing it, now I won't have to use an old Kubuntu version
anymore to be able to use my homesheet again.

It is a sheet in which I keep all my home stats like
- bank records
- electricity, water use
- solar panel production

So I needed it fairly often.

I guess the bug report can be closed with status solved.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45371] New: url corrupted when adding a word in the cell

2012-01-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45371

 Bug #: 45371
   Summary: url corrupted when adding a word in the cell
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: jbf.fa...@orange.fr

Step to reproduce:
- open a new spreadsheet
- in a cell type an url, for example http://something.com;
- click outside the cell - the url is automatically transformed in an
hyperlink
- select the cell and click in the formula bar
- add several characters *starting with a dot*, for example: .test
- validate

what happens : the hyperlink is changed in httestt://something.com.

what is expected : the hyperlink is not corrupted.

An user (ubuntu 11.10) has the same problem if the url modification is done
directly in the cell.
It seems that the bug does not affect KDE users, nor MS-Windows users.
No bug if automatic url recognition is disabled.

From my side I encounter this bug with LO 3.4.5 (ubuntu and vanilla versions)
and LO 3.5.0 rc2+ (LibreOffice 3.5.0rc2+ Version ID :
20ec7c1-ed94322-5cd2479-2386a41-138191a)

 So m_aCommand seems ok, it's just the message which shows this . in extra.

Ah yes, I confused the dot namespace separator in SQL and the dot end of
sentence in English.

2012-01-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #18 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu 2012-01-29 08:19:35

OK, the code path that leads to the SQL exception is:

switch (m_nCommandType)
{
case CommandType::TABLE:
{
   (...)
}
break;

case CommandType::QUERY:
{
Reference XQueriesSupplier   xQueriesAccess(m_xActiveConnection,
UNO_QUERY);
if (xQueriesAccess.is())
{
if (xQueries-hasByName(m_aCommand))
{
   (...)
}
else
{
String sMessage( DBACORE_RESSTRING(
RID_STR_QUERY_DOES_NOT_EXIST ) );
sMessage.SearchAndReplaceAscii( $table$, m_aCommand );
throwGenericSQLException(sMessage,*this);
}
}
}

My guess is that in the example you test on, Adresse is a table and not a
query, so m_nCommandType should be CommandType::TABLE, but it is
CommandType::QUERY. So now the interesting question is: where is that value of
m_nCommandType set, and why is it set incorrectly? Probably somewhere a call to
setPropertyValue(PROPERTY_COMMAND_TYPE).

This also suggests that it might work if one selects a query, and not a table
in step 1 of the query wizard. To be tested.

[Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.4.5 German UI [Build ID: OOO340m1
(Build:502)] parallel Server installation on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)
and also  3.5.0 RC2 and OOo 3.1.1

The flamingo picture is in .doc, but invisible in WORD (2011 Starter) because
outside paper sheet. If you change paper size to A3 and/or landscape it becomes
visible on the paper sheet.

LibO forces the picture into the paper sheet area, so that it's always visible.

OK, LibO should respect the way how WORD whos those pictures, although to me
the WORD behavior seems some nonsense. I doubt that that's a WORD feature.

Shows formulas now and hints at what a walkup function would look like.

A walkup function could simplify this type of spreadsheet greatly, by allowing
a pulldown copy of a canned formula at the top instead of manually tweaking all
the cell references every time a row is deleted or inserted.

Jean-Baptiste good afternoon.

I have just checked and confirmed this on LibreOffice 3.4.4
OOO340m1 (Build:1403) under openSUSE 12.1.

It occurs when saving a file as XLS. You can save the file with a password of
sixteen or more characters without incident, however when you try then to open
it with the same = 16 character password it complains that the password is
incorrect.

However, if you only enter the first fifteen characters then it opens
correctly.
=
You are correct that this does not occur if the file has been saved as an ODS.
But it does occur if you save as an XLS.

Kind regards, Andy

I noticed the pb with CommandType::TABLE.
So in gdb, I changed dynamically the value.

Then I had select * from Adresse (something like that) and this time it has
CommandType::TABLE (so 0) instead of 1 CommandType::QUERY. (Hope I don't
mistake, I didn't record it somewhere)
So I changed this too dynamically on gdb but the result wasn't better :-(

If you let attackers place rogue DLLs in arbitrary places on your system, then
indeed you have a security problem.

That said, I *am* surprised by the claim that soffice.bin would pick up DLLs it
needs from locations in PATH in preference to the one in the program
subdirectory. That hardly can be the intention. Either something has broken
this, or there is something special in the bug reporter's case that makes it
happen.

I reproduce the problem with all versions I tested (3.3.4, 3.4.5, 3.5.0 rc2+
with FR UI) but I do not know how it may occur in normal work: step to
reproduce:
I tried with the French word nœud (EN: node): if I type noeud auto-correction
change it in nœud.
step 1 : type noe
step 2 : insert a comment by ctrl+alt+C, type something in the comment
step 3 : click just after the letter e and continue to type the word: ud
step 4 : hit space bar

current behavior : auto-correction does nothing

2nd test :
1/ open a new empty text document
2/ insert a comment on the first line by ctrl+maj+C and type something in the
comment
3/ click at the start of the first line and type noeud + space

current behavior : auto-correction works (noeud becomes nœud) and the comment
arrow points on the blank character after the word. You can continue to type,
the comment arrow remains at end of your text.

[Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.5.0 RC2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID:
e371a95-bf68a13-5a1aa2b-d3c1ae9-b938258] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

Very old problem, I also see it in a Master from July 2011

But woks fine with LibreOffice 3.4.5 German UI [Build ID: OOO340m1
(Build:502)] parallel Server installation on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

Problem is not limited to particular formulas, I also see it in a new Document
mysample10.ods with simple =A11+B11. The only condition is order of actions
'Copy - Paste to empty cells - Delete'

Steps how to reproduce with mysample10.ods:
1) open document
2) Highlight cells A1:B10 and copy
3) Place cursor on A11 and paste
C11 ... C20 shows values
4) Press Del to delete still highlighted A11:B20
   Expected: values C11:C20 become 0
   Actual: values stay

Menu 'Options - Cell Contents - Update' will not work
Toggling any checkbox in menu 'Tools - Options - Calc - Calculate - Input
Settings' will make the values change, after a new paste - delete a new
checkbox toggle will be necessary to update calculated values.

Step 4 works as expected if A11:B20 were not empty before you start the test (I
checked with all 1).

That's serious.

I am pretty sure that this one has the same roots like Bug 44143 - formula's
that use data from pivot table don't update with the pivot table

@john.pratt
Good shot!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45376] New: [FORMATTING] Incorrect text wrapping around drawing shapes (depending on zoom level)

2012-01-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45376

 Bug #: 45376
   Summary: [FORMATTING] Incorrect text wrapping around drawing
shapes (depending on zoom level)
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 RC2
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: openoff...@schierla.de

When using a drawing shape with contour page wrapping, the text is wrapped
around a virtual object left or right of the shape after changing zoom level
and entering page preview (or printing / PDF export).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Add some text to a writer document
2. Draw a rectangle somewhere (right half of page) on the text
3. Switch the rectangle's wrapping to page wrap (this will automatically enable
contour wrapping)
4. Zoom out a bit (make sure the entire page width is visible, and the page is
centered)
5. Switch to page preview

Expected result:
Text wraps around the rectangle

Actual Result:
Text wraps around a white space left of the rectangle

«ហើយគ្លានេះជាភាសាខ្មែរ។»

Current behavior: All punctuation marks are detected as English rather than
Khmer, regardless of what keyboard layout was used to type them, and regardless
of the Khmer characters immediately after or before the punctuation marks.
Currently there is no way to use a Khmer font for punctuation marks unless a
Khmer font is also chosen as the western font - which inhibits multilingual
documents because Khmer punctuation marks are positioned slightly differently
than they are in western fonts - so the punctuation looks slightly off if a
font such as Times New Roman is used for punctuation rather than Khmer font
such as Battambang. This error also hampers grammar checkers such as
LanguageTool which use the LibreOffice language detection for various
grammatical rules (so some rules for Khmer are broken).

Expected behavior: LibreOffice should detect punctuation around Khmer Unicode
to also be in the Khmer language. Or at least allow the user to over-ride and
change the language of the punctuation to Khmer (currently punctuation cannot
be changed to the Khmer language because punctuation is seen as Western, and
Khmer is CTL).

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/535.7 (KHTML, like
Gecko) Chrome/16.0.912.77 Safari/535.7  Also on Ubuntu 11.x

Hi,

This is an old bug which has already been fixed in newer versions of the
upstream LibreOffice. You need to update your version to at least either the
3.3.4 version, or the 3.4.5 version, from the LO repositories. I believe that
it may even be fixed in the 3.4.4 version available from Ubuntu.

Closing.

Checked w/ LibO 3.5 RC2, Ubuntu 11.04.

Can confirm, not only with the test db but using the postgres-sdbc driver also.

In the later case the error message is pretty much the same:
pq_driver: [PGRES_FATAL_ERROR]ERROR:  column LEFT_birthCity does not exist
LINE 1: SELECT * FROM public.Master ORDER BY LEFT_birthCity
 ^
 (caused by statement 'SELECT * FROM public.Master ORDER BY
LEFT_birthCity')

To reproduce:

open any Report Builder report definition
Open the Sort/Groupding dialog
Select any text field to group on
Under properties set Group Interval to 'Prefix Characters'
Any value in Group Intervval

Run the report - error

 But it is Linux specific bug. We need test it only on Linux.
 Return status to Unconfirmed

Ok, so in order to be able to compare, could you attach a screen copy of actual
behavior on your linux box and a screen copy on MS-Windows (as a reference).
In other words : a screen copy for what is expected and a screen copy for what
you get.

From my side I do not see a problem with your bugdoc in LO 3.5.0 rc2+ under
Ubuntu 11.10. Page 1 seems identical to page 2.

Best regards. JBF

did you try 3.4.5? is the bug still present?

if yes, is there any chance to backport this to future 3.4.6 since the issue
seems already fixed in the 3.5.x branch?

Not a valid Bug report!

@chuck598:
May I ask you to read hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport
carefully?
Then please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
  problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
  into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
  mouse click how to reproduce your problem (and if possible how to created a
  sample document from the scratch)
- add information
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
  -- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
  -- concerning your PC
  -- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
  -- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language, Locale
setting)
  –- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
  -- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
  -- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44836] Leaking page breaks ...

2012-01-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44836

--- Comment #3 from Yifan Jiang yfji...@novell.com 2012-01-29 22:46:14 PST ---
I tried in 2 machines, found this might be working to reproduce:

1. Create a new document

2. Insert a manual page breaker in the first page

3. Insert a manual page breaker in the second page

4. Insert a manual page breaker in the third page

Now we got 4 pages ( the last one appended by libreoffice automatically when
adding page breaker)

The magic begin when the page numbers go beyond 4.

5. Ctrl+Home to go to the beginning of the document

6. Ctrl+End to go to the the beginning of the last page

7. Page down (or scroll mouse down)

= A strange page breaker line located right in the middle of the last page. It
seems not inside the document, hover on line will diminish it. However
repeating from step 5 can bring it back again always.
