[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45606] New: EDITING: Default-value in GUI doesn't work in SQL

Summary: EDITING: Default-value in GUI doesn't work in SQL
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Default_value - on table in GUI, second in SQL. Try to change relationship to
"set default"

When editing the relationship between two tables you could choose: On update -
default. I tried this with a foreign key edited as delault in the GUI. The GUI
shows this default-value. The editing of the realtionship doesn't work. A popup
appears: Missing DEFAULT value ...
When trying this with a table, where the default-value is set by SQL you could
change the relationship to "On update - default".
Seem the default-value in the GUI is only set as a GUI-value. It appears when
editing a new row during editing. When you don't whish the default-value in GUI
you have to delete the default-entry in the row first.
The default-value created in SQL isn't shown in the GUI. The default is set
when saving the new row and the field is already empty. This is the right
behaviour of tables.
If you want to use a GUI-default you could better set the default in
form-controls.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45603] LO Misreporting Works 7.0 Chart Template

--- Comment #1 from Charles McCullough 2012-02-03 22:02:48

Sorry...in the pic, only the Office 2003/2007 chart should be compared with the
LO chart for accuracy. The Works version pic of the chart was taken from an
older version of the file. The file is updated annually, and I don't update
the Works version anymore...

Chart Views

I imagine this will be down the list of problems.

I have a spreadsheet calculation file I created in MS Works 7.0. One of the
associated charts was created using a format forsaken by MS for inclusion as a
template in MS Office 2003 and 2007. Don't know about 2010.

I have attached a picture that shows that LO misreports the chart. Both Office
2003 and 2007 report the chart format correctly, even though it is not
presented as a template.

I can think of a thousand uses for this format. Would be a nice twist to see
it incorporated into the templates for a future version of LO.

Primary uses would be revenues v. costs by month or year, etc., but there are
numerous other examples of cases where total events can be compared against one
type of the event over time, etc.

Thanks for the hard work from all the developers at LO...

contains the form/table you close the window of?

I'm on pc Debian x86-64 and used brand new documents for both tests.

Have you got error messages in console ?
Do you have the problem on brand new documents ?
If it's specific to some documents, could you attach one ?
Did you mean with your explanation that if toolbar is docked at the bottom,
everything is ok ?

[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.4.5 German UI [Build ID: OOO340m1

I found a general border line minimum width limitation of 0.25pt. I checked
page heading, footer, paragraph, CALC cells.

I also see that limitation with a 3.4.1RC based daily, I believe problem
started with 3.4.0.

This limitation does no longer exist with "LibreOffice 3.5.0 RC3 German

2012-02-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

 Bug #: 45600
Summary: Jump List items in Windows 7 are not visible in
Libreoffice 3.4.5
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: j.a.eijgenr...@caiway.net

In Libreoffice 3.4.5 the jump list items are not visible or not available. I
checked them with the icons of scalc.exe and swriter.exe on the taskbar. No
recently opened files are shown and as a consequence it is not possible to pin
documents.

In order to make sure that for previous release (Libreoffice 3.3.4) it still
worked I de-installed Libreoffice 3.4.5 and re-installed 3.3.4
This confirmed to me that the jump list items were available with 3.3.4

I knew already that you must open a document by double clicking on the file
name in Windows Explorer in order to add the document to the jump list. Opening
a file within Libreoffice does not add the file to the jump list.

@Chip Eastham

If you successfully reproduce the problem, please:
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
mouse click how to reproduce your problem (due to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to created a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
-- concerning your PC (video card, ...)
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
(video hardware acceleration ...)
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41192] [EDITING FORMATTING VIEWING] New pages messes frames anchored to character

2012-02-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #4 from Mirosław Zalewski 2012-02-03

Sasha: I could not reproduce main problem (shown in video) in neither 3.4.5
(Debian testing AMD64, LO from Debian repository) nor 3.5.0rc3 (Windows 7 32
bit, LO from LO web page). I am able to insert new page before frame anchored
to character and aligned to top of printing page area without any side-effects.
It seems to be fixed, as you state.

In both version Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V scrolls document to beginning (the same as in
3.6), though. Perhaps title of this bug report should be changed to better
reflect topic? Could you please do it, if you find this request valid?

Best regards and thanks for your reply
Mirosław Zalewski

2012-02-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #4 from mab 2012-02-03 11:25:58 PST ---
> Do you know which version?

  OpenOffice 3.2.1

I have just tried the same file on PCLinuxOS 2011.6, which has LO 3.4.5 and
CUPS 1.4.6.

The result was the same as for OpenSUSE 12.1:

The file displays correctly for Print Review (in landscape) but prints as
Portrait, right to the right-hand edge of the physical page, thus truncating
the layout at the same column where LO 3.4.5 on Mandriva stopped printing
columns (in landscape)

As before, if the LO Print Settings for the file are changed from "PDF" to
"Postscript (from the driver)", the file prints perfectly, in landscape.

I now see your additional info on the users list. Thanks.
Pasting it here for reference:
" A workaround has been found by 'TJ' in the Mandriva newsgroup:

When in LO's 'print file', go in to Printer Settings and change
'PDF' to 'Postscript' (any level).

(Unfortunately the change does not stick, unless the document is
changed and Saved.)

The reason why OpenOffice is able to print the file perfectly is that
it already uses Postscript in the output.
  For background to that, see:

  https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=94173

where the proposed change from Postscript to PDF (to solve *other*
problems) did not make it into OpenOffice before it ws handed over to
Apache, whereas they *did* make it into LO! "

Hi,
thanks for the report.

(In reply to comment #0)
> N.B. The same file prints perfectly under OpenOffice on those systems.

Do you know which version? As from OOo 3.3.0 and DEV300m105 (the untimely ended
line towards 3.4.0).
I have and see a pile of issues with page handling and printing. And the most
slipped in LibreOffice :-\
I tried to help with QA in the OOo time with some issues and comments in that
time, but aparently there were not enough people working on it.

I think it would be good if we set up a special group/taks force to work
together in ditching out all the issues and make a clear overview for the devs
to step in..

By the way: I'm on the train and cannot check the issue (forgot to carry my
printer ;-) ) but simple expect that indeed it is a bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34559] Complex Dialogs should be resizable

Astron changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||heinzless...@gmail.com

--- Comment #5 from Astron 2012-02-03 09:25:03 PST ---
@Rainer: Making dialogues resizable in LibO is pretty hard (this is only
becoming harder the more elements there are in a dialogue) and has so far only
been done for some (often new) dialogues. The homegrown GUI framework we use,
VCL, is sadly pretty dumb when it comes to positioning UI elements. They are
literally placed fixed at a certain point and have an exact size. Now, when
resizing a dialogue, people usually expect that the elements in it resize, too.
That is the point where some poor coder has to spend a good amount of time to
write some custom C++ to define how to resize which element by how many pixels
when people do what.
All this is unlike modern GUI toolkits like GTK+, Qt, WPF, XUL etc that make it
pretty easy to define such things.

VCL hinders UI development all the time and the two possibilities are:
* switch to another toolkit (extremely expensive in the short run, but won't
require much maintenance)
* update VCL with some modern functionality (maybe a little less expensive in
the short run, but will require maintenance)

In any case, this is probably "Wishlist LibO 4.0" material.

The "good" news is that Microsoft Office has had the same problem with resizing
dialogues (at least until MSO 2007, haven't worked with any later versions).

Can reproduce the behaviour on Master (to-be 3.6,
b878715-39746e8-4a486bf-76be866), but I believe this is not a bug, and instead
expected behaviour that prevents worse from happening.

I say that because...
* After selecting text, table cells, ..., the cursor is always put after/before
the place that was just selected -- this, in fact, enables selecting stuff
continuously
* Ctrl-A behaves like starting a selection at the top left and finishing at the
bottom right (debatable, but sensible, I think)
* if, after Ctrl-A, the cursor were now set somewhere in the middle of the
table that would completely break selecting via keyboard

So, unless there's something clever we could do that does not break keyboard
navigation, I'd recommend resolving this as WONTFIX.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45597] New: FORMATTING: Wrong Paragraph Inserted with Direct Curser

2012-02-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45597

 Bug #: 45597
Summary: FORMATTING: Wrong Paragraph Inserted with Direct
Curser
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: harald-koes...@htp-tel.de

In order to reproduce do:
[1] Open new text document.
[2] Enable viewing "Nonprinting Characters" in order to view the results of the
following steps.
[3] Enable Direct Cursor (Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Formatting
Aids) and select "Tabs" (or "Tabs and spaces"). Then "OK".
[4] Move the mouse pointer over the document. The cursors follows the pointer
and there is a little triangle at the right side of the cursor. Click somewhere
into the document and a left-aligned paragraph is inserted with tabs (and
spaces) up to the cursor position.
[5] Now move the mouse pointer slowly and horizontal exactly to the middle of
the document. When you reach the middle, at both sides of the cursor little
triangles are displayed. Stop here and click into the document. Now a centered
paragraph is inserted !!!

Expected behaviour: At all positions a left-aligned paragraph should be
inserted in the modes "Tabs" and "Tabs and spaces".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39053] EMF are not drawn correctly.

2012-02-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39053

--- Comment #10 from mathog 2012-02-03 08:44:28 PST ---
Created attachment 56580
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=56580
Wide lines drawn as narrow, rotated text misplaced

Other EMF import bugs (3.5.0rc1 Windows XP)

1. On EMF input of this example several of the wide lines are drawn very
narrow, probably one pixel wide. Internally they show a width of zero. This
happens, for instance, with the 72pt and 36pt lines, but not the 144pt (180px)
line.

2. On modify->break rotated text is offset from the correct position.

Note, this example was designed for testomg EMF insertion into PPT2003. To get
the right text sizes first set the LODraw page size to 10.84" x 7.5", margins
all zero. Import the EMF, then stretch to fit the page. Modify->break. Font
sizes will then be as marked in the example.

On Windows use "preview" to see what this EMF should look like.

--- Comment #5 from Vlad 2012-02-03 08:36:49 PST ---
I think that if for some task that may not benefit from multiple selecting may
not offer this multiple selection feature, while task that *do* benefit (as
inserting pictures or opening multiple documents at once) may have this
enabled.

I don't know the especifics of the widget toolkit you're using, but i guess
that it has to have a mechanism to enable/disable multiple selection, which may
be used for this.

Also I know it's not only matter of adding that capability to the file selector
and I see this bug not as a trivial task, but it's needed for being more
user-friendly.

I came across this a lot of times per day (I often need to insert 15 pictures
in a document for a weekly report) and something I may do in 3 clicks
translates in 45 clicks without this.

I confirm that the file is a mess when opened with LibO 3.4.5.

When opened with LibO 3.5 Beta2 is result is good, but not yet perfect (header
formated in "Times New Roman" instead of "Arial" as with Word 2003 or 2007).

Tested with Windows XP and Windows Vista 64.

WWI-File seems to be an RTF file with another ending.

Problem description:

While cutting and pasting from one cell to another, spreadsheet became
unresponsive (target cell selected but no content appeared from the paste
operation). MS Windows 7 mouse went to "clocking" mode (swirling circle).
Application generally unresponsive (no menu would open, app would not close).

Several cut-and-paste operations (less than a dozen) had already been
successful to this point (in a new document). Task manager did not display any
suspicious information.

After force close by shutdown/restart, recovery in LO Calc was unsuccessful
(blank document opened).

I'll try and reproduce the problem.

Please check all the other settings, which are shown in the other pictures at

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39690] Contribute Desktop icons as .svg

2012-02-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39690

--- Comment #13 from Petr Mladek 2012-02-03 05:47:52 PST ---
Created attachment 56573
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=56573
Screenshot of the strange broder around macro icon

First, I am sorry for the late replay. There were more urgent things that
needed to be done before 3.5.0 release.

Second, I was not able to download the svg icons from
http://rghost.net/35903405. The file was marked as deleted. Also it asked for
my credit-card number that I did not want to give.

Third, the picture from
http://linuxgraphics.ru/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=1149&getfile=11782 looks
promising. The only problem is the strange border around the icon. I do not see
it in the original svg with all the icons.

IMHO, the tarball with all icons should not be that huge. We need the following
icons:

scalable/apps/calc.svg
scalable/apps/base.svg
scalable/apps/main.svg
scalable/apps/math.svg
scalable/apps/writer.svg
scalable/apps/startcenter.svg
scalable/apps/draw.svg
scalable/apps/impress.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-drawing.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-web-template.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-drawing-template.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-master-document.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-database.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-text.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-spreadsheet.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-presentation.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-spreadsheet-template.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-text-template.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-formula.svg
scalable/mimetypes/oasis-presentation-template.svg

Please, look at
https://gitorious.org/libreoffice/core/trees/master/sysui/desktop/icons/hicolor
to see how the corresponding .png icons look like.
Note that the "startcenter" and "main" icons are the same.

Also note that the primary source should be accessible via
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice. Unfortunately, this service does not
work today, so I send link to the read-only copy on gitorious.org.

Conclusion:

Could you please remove the strange border?
Could you please attach only the wanted svg icons to this bug?

It would help a lot.

2012-02-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45589

 Bug #: 45589
   Summary: Show boookmarks
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: gilvan.vila...@gmail.com

Writer should let the user see where are text bookmarks. Bookmarks could be
treated as non-printable characters. When user clicked on the "pi" button,
there could be some kind of visual effect to show bookmarks inside the
document, just like tabs and paragraphs.

Best regards,
Gilvan.

I looked at the slide deck under Windows XP and can see it flawlessly, so
apparently the file is not corrupted in any way. Without a Mac I cannot confirm
the bug though.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45588] New: : Writer: Use of different items for Formatting Marks (Formatierungszeichen) in German Localization

2012-02-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45588

 Bug #: 45588
Summary: : Writer: Use of different items for Formatting Marks
(Formatierungszeichen) in German Localization
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Localisation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: harald-koes...@htp-tel.de

Trenner" (Strg+Umschalt+-)
[2] " Benutzerdefinierter Trenner" = "Bedingtes Trennzeichen" = "Optionaler
Trennstrich" = " Weicher Trenner" (Strg+-)
[3] Für das "Geschützte Leerzeichen" habe ich (erstaunlicherweise) keine
weiteren Begriff gefunden. (Strg+Umschalt+Leertaste)

Erwartung: Verwendung gleicher Begriffe.

Wo gefunden?
[1] Einfügen > Formatierungszeichen
[2] Extras > Optionen > LibreOffice Writer > Formatierungshilfen
[3] Hilfetext zu [2]
[4] Hilfe, "Einfügen von geschützten Leerzeichen, Bindestrichen und bedingten
Trennzeichen"
[5] Hilfe, "Formatierungszeichen"
[6] Hilfe, "Einfügen von geschützten Leerzeichen"
[7] Hilfe, "Tastaturbefehle für Textdokumente"
[8] Hilfe, "Silbentrennung"
Weitere ?
