[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33791] Print system fails to use or allow user to select correct paper size for printing
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33791 --- Comment #8 from kgumerl...@gmail.com 2012-03-12 07:41:33 PDT --- This problem has existed in LibreOffice now for quite some time, and as I understand it, could be a regression from as early as OOo 3.1. Steps to reproduce: System: Mac OS X 10.7.3 (this bug does not affect Windows systems, apparently) Printer: Lexmark E260dn, (observed with other printers as well) LO version: 3.5.0rc3 1. Open Writer, New Document 2. Format - Page, Page tab, in the Format drop-down select #10 Envelope 3. File - Print, Show Details, then in the details drop-down, select Paper Handling 4. Notice that Destination Paper Size reads Suggested Paper: followed by whatever is set as the Default paper size: under OS X System Preferences - Print Scan 5. Attempting to change the output tray under Paper Feed in the Print Dialog to a tray that has #10 Envelope loaded results in the dialog The Media Source option, [tray name], is not available when the destination paper size is set to [system default paper size]. To scale to fit to Envelope Monarch, click Continue. To keep Media Source at its current setting, click Cancel. 6. Clicking Continue at the previous dialog results in, under Paper Handling, Scale to fit paper size being checked, and the Destination Paper Size drop-down is enabled. However, when printing, the output is the image of a #10 envelope projected on to a sheet of paper, then *scaled* down (rather than cropped) to fit a #10 envelope. Using US Letter as a default paper size under OS X, here are the correlations between sizes selected in the Format - Page menu in Writer and the resulting Suggested Paper sizes in the Print dialog: A6 - A6 A5 - A5 A4 - A4 A3 - US Legal B6 - US Letter B5 (ISO) - B5 B4 (ISO) - US Letter Letter - US Letter Legal - US Legal Long Bond - US Letter Tabloid - US Legal B6 (JIS) - US Letter B5 (JIA) - JIS B5 B4 (JIS) - US Legal 16 Kai - JIS B5 32 Kai - A5 Big 32 Kai - A5 DL Envelope - US Letter C6 Envelope - A6 C6/5 Envelope - US Letter C5 Envelope - US Letter C4 Envelope - US Letter #6 3/4 (Personal) Envelope - A6 #8 (Monarch) Envelope - US Letter #9 Envelope - US Letter #10 Envelope - US Letter #11 Envelope - US Letter #12 Envelope - US Letter Here are all the sizes currently defined in my system, as selectable in the Default paper size drop-down in System Preferences - Print Scan: US Letter US Legal A4 A5 JIS B5 B5 Envelope #10 Envelope DL Tabloid A3 Tabloid Oversize ROC 16K Envelope Choukei 3 Super B/A3 OS X seems to have a system-wide Page Setup dialog that is normally found under File - Page Setup (implemented in e.g. Firefox), with system-wide defined paper sizes. MS Word 2011 also implements this feature, and changes in page size are expected to be made there, rather than in any Word-specific Format dialog. I believe that the solution to this bug rests somewhere in implementing the system's Page Setup dialog. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Steps to reproduce: 1. Write some text in Impress 2. Select it 3. Right-click, select Character 4. Go to the Position tab 5. Select Superscript 6. Click OK Current behavior: Text is squished. To restore it to normal size, I need to go back to the Character→Position tab and adjust Scale width in inverse proportion to the Relative font size entry. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47246] New: EasyHack: Remove the duplicate linked objects in gbuild
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47246 Bug #: 47246 Summary: EasyHack: Remove the duplicate linked objects in gbuild Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO Master Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Libreoffice AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: bjoern.michael...@canonical.com Duplicate linked objects are do not have to be a deadly problem, but they can introduce very hard to debug problems. As we set stuff like compile flags and include paths on the linktarget (aka the library) and in the above case the object file is linked in by two libraries, the flags it is compiled with are actually nondeterministic. That is Very Bad(tm)! So the smoketest/smoketest.cxx will either be compiled with the CFLAGS of Library/libsmoketest.so or with those of CppunitTest/libtest_smoketest.so -- actually it can be compiled different on different machines with the same code. It can even be compiled different on the same machine! So again: This is Very Bad(tm) and we should probably never ever have let that happen. Now it might be possible that the one doing the initial migration carefully checked that both libs are compiled exactly the same on all platforms (I highly doubt that), but even then this totally unproof against future changes. Someone might innocently add a define to the compile flags of one library and create a terribly hard to reproduce heisenbug. So this has to go, it should never have been there in the first place. How can this be removed? There are two possibilities: a) create a smoketest/smoketest_libtest_smoketest.cxx with this content: #include smoketest.cxx and then use that file instead of smoketest/smoketest.cxx in CppunitTest/libtest_smoketest. That way, the object gets build twice (with possibly different flags and defines) and everything is fine. Ugly, but does the job. b) create a static library smoketest and add the smoketest/smoketest.cxx to it. Now instead link that static library into both of the dynamic ones and everything is fine. Once all the warnings are gone, we should probably make gbuild abort if it detects one of those. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47252] New: FILESAVE: cross-references do not export well to DOCX file
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47252 Bug #: 47252 Summary: FILESAVE: cross-references do not export well to DOCX file Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.4.4 release Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Status Whiteboard: BSA Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: a...@trigonic.com Added cross-reference links in an ODT file to numbered paragraphs earlier in the document using Reference. In Writer, this shows up as the name of the paragraph being referenced. These look fine until exported to DOCX. Opening the DOCX file back in Writer shows the reference text as __RefNumPara__173_1178930885. Typing around these refs in Writer appears to fix them. Looking at the DOCX archive, word/document.xml appears to actually have the reference ID as text: w:rw:rPr/w:fldChar w:fldCharType=begin//w:r w:rw:instrText REF __RefNumPara__173_1178930885 \h /w:instrText/w:r w:rw:fldChar w:fldCharType=separate//w:r w:rw:t xml:space=preserve __RefNumPara__173_1178930885/w:t/w:r !-- here -- w:rw:fldChar w:fldCharType=end//w:r -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47254] New: Adobe Pro Optical Fonts scrambled in LibreOffice font list (Spanish Langpack)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47254 Bug #: 47254 Summary: Adobe Pro Optical Fonts scrambled in LibreOffice font list (Spanish Langpack) Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release Platform: x86 (IA32) OS/Version: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: cardenas.marcel...@yahoo.com Created attachment 58346 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=58346 Figure 1 Pro Optical fonts are collections of fonts that include up to 32 optical size variants for the caption, regular, subhead and display character sizes. So, for example, the 'Caption' size would include: '(regular) Caption', 'Light Caption', 'Italic Caption', 'Light Italic Caption', 'Bold Caption', 'Semibold Caption', 'Bold Italic Caption' and 'Semibold Italic Caption'; so on for the other size variants. (I'm using the Jenson font family for this example.) In the attachment (Figure 1), The 'Character' panel shows the 'Adobe Jenson Pro (regular)' font family selected. You can see, also, that below the selection there're more Jenson font variants available, such as 'Pro Capt', 'Pro Disp', etc. The 'typeface' area is however showing the 'caption' option selected when it should be showing the 'regular' option instead. Note that the 'regular' option is not present on this list, nor anywhere else (in the spanish langpack this one would appear as the 'predeterminada' option). So, the content is scrambled. I've noted that something similar occurs when using Libre Office in English, too. This bug doesn't prevent using the font, but prevents using the font correctly in the document; that's the issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
