I can confirm the behaviour in the case that the CELL SELECTION CROSSES OVER
HIDDEN COLUMNS:
Copying this selection from CALC and pasting it into Thunderbird leads to
hang-up of both LibO and Thunderbird unless CALC becomes terminated by
Task-Manager.
Then Thunderbird will be released.

reproducable on Windows Xp SP3 with LibO 3.5.0 and
LOdev3.5.2RC0-nightlyBuild-20120312

it does not happen in LibO 3.4.5

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47332] New: Drawing, FILESAVE, Embed colors palette in document does NOT work

2012-03-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47332

 Bug #: 47332
Summary: Drawing, FILESAVE, Embed colors palette in document
does NOT work
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Drawing
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: jpmor...@gmail.com

- new drawing in slackware Linux, draw a rectangle,
   with ... Area... > Colors, new color Yellow-Gray-jp (R,G,B)=(254,254,50),
   [x] Embed
   > File > Save: tst-color-embed.odg
 - Open as other user on same slackware (OR copied to Windows XP),
tst-color-embed.odg file: rectangle has correct color, but NO name of color.

Same problem if ... > Colors, [x] Embed + Save Color List in a file:

 - Linux, draw NEW file tst-color-embed.odg,
on filled rectangle Area... > Colors, new color Yellow-Gray-jp
   (R,G,B)=(254,254,50), [x] Embed,
   + > Save Color List in .../tst-colors-embed/Yellow-Gray-jp.soc, [x] Embed;
   > File > Save.
   (creates ~jpmoreau/.config/libreoffice/3/user/config/Yellow-Gray-jp.soc).

Note that LibO Draw takes its color palette NOT from saved .soc file, but
from same file name in user configs:

- Approx, after saving a Color List and saving file as above (with [x] Embed):
  - rename ~/.config/libreoffice/3/user/config/Yellow-Gray-jp.soc
to .../Yellow-Gray-jp.soc-bk0
  - Re-Open document test-color-embed.odg : Yellow-Gray-jp color name NOT
there!
- Search in uncompressed .odg file, Gray-jp found in only ONE file:
user$ mkdir t; cd t; 7z x ../test-color-embed.odg
  fgrep -l Gray-jp *.xml; emacs settings.xml # C-x C-s Gray-jp
  only ONE location,
 ...$(user)/config/Yellow-Gray-jp.soc
 ...

So the Path+Name of .soc file conserved in .odg document, NOT the color table
itself.
What's more, it has the user libreoffice config dir Path, NOT the path of file
where I did 'Area... > Colors > Save Color List'!

Ouff! Excuse me for this technical description.
I hope it is useful.
An thank you a lot for your work.

LibreOffice can not create within the ODT-archive folder with
the contents of all OLE-objects, which were placed in DOCX-file, and creates
these folders only for some objects. The mechanism of passage I do not
understand, any OLE-object, regardless of its type ( "image" or "formula") may
be lost. Most often, lost objects, starting with the second, if DOCX-file are
located in a row, one after another.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47331] New: Link to External Data doesn't use Accept or Content-Type and makes N requests

2012-03-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47331

 Bug #: 47331
Summary: Link to External Data doesn't use Accept or
Content-Type and makes N requests
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: c...@clarkevans.com

When connecting to a data source via "Link to External Data", the Spreadsheet
doesn't set an Accept header, hence there is no way for a web server to know
which response file format is best for the user agent. We send plain text
formatted for human convention in this case... which obviously is the worst
possible case for this feature. If you have a good HTML parser that scans for
a TABLE object, then please add "Accept: text/html" to your request header?

It also seems the import doesn't look at the mimetype when receiving data, we
send back text/csv or text/tsv and your tool plus a marker saying it is UTF-8
encoded the link tool ignores this information, guesses incorrectly about the
structure of the text file, and prompts the user. If someone sets text/csv or
text/tsv they are probably following the RFC.

Furthermore, when we return an HTML file with a _single_ table, it prompts the
user to pick one of 3 tables. This user interface dialog doesn't make sense,
since the file itself has exactly one table. I don't know how it's listing
them.

Finally, this tool sends several PROPFIND and GET requests for a single open.
I'm not sure why PROPFIND is needed, but one GET should be sufficient.
Instead, each request amounts to ~8 PROPFIND, ~3 HEAD, and ~3 GET requests.

Being able to pull in web resources with this tool would be absolutely great.
If you would like to test, feel free to use:

http://demo.htsql.org/school
http://demo.htsql.org/school/:html
http://demo.htsql.org/school/:tsv
http://demo.htsql.org/school/:csv

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47325] New: : Existing Base reports won't open in LibreOffice 3.5

2012-03-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47325

 Bug #: 47325
Summary: : Existing Base reports won't open in LibreOffice 3.5
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Database
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: fro...@yahoo.com.au

Problem description:

I have many (painstakingly designed) reports originally done in Oo 3.3 using
the ('old style') report wizard (which I used because, after much trial and
error, I could not get the result I wanted with the Oracle Report Builder v
1.2.1). All my saved reports run fine in LO 3.45, but NOT in LO 3.5.

In LO 3.5 when I click on a particular report to run it, the expected window
saying "Connecting to data source Importing data" opens for a brief
instant, then disappears, leaving just the window with the report template
layout showing...but no report is ever generated. Note: All the queries my
reports are based on run perfectly (in LO 3.5) so it doesn't seem to be a
database connection problem. As a further test, I set up a new report (again
using the 'old-style' wizard) but this time using LO 3.45, and it runs fine,
but it still does not run in 3.5. Other people have reported this problem on
Windows (see http://en.libreofficeforum.org/node/2589)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create & save a report (based on some query) using the 'old style' wizard
using OO 3.3 or an earlier version of LO (not 3.5). You'll need to disable the
Report Builder extension to use the 'old style' wizard.

2. Open the file in LO 3.5 and try to run the report.

Current behavior: See problem description above.

Expected behavior: See problem description above.

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/11.0

I observed same problems with LO3.5.1.2 on Windows Vista 32bit. Without
hardware acceleration the slide show runs fine. With active acceleration
graphics objects and images disappear. In addition, in my system there is no
slide change. the information of all slides is rendered over each other, change
to a new slide does not erase the previous content. A sample file and screen
shoot after stepping through slides 1 to 4 is added as attachment

When graphics objects are animated they are shown during animation, but
afterwards disappear. Any following animation triggers a flash of graphics
objects drawn before (can be seen in slide 5 of the sample file).

The rFontFace appears to have an mpGraphiteData that has bogus contents an
mnRefCount of 775041900 or some such reasonable number ;-) and the busted
mpFace pointer that ultimately causes the crash down the stack.

We regularly run LibreOffice and our extensive test suite through valgrind on
Linux, which dungs out -tons- of errors and problems.

However - on Windows, we don't get anything like the same level of coverage.

If you install 'DrMemory' - http://www.drmemory.org/ (choose to add it in your
path works best).

Then run:

drmemory -- soffice.exe

You should get a long slew of uninitialized warnings, and wrong malloc/delete
pairings and so on I'll attach a very limited sample of these. You really want
to install a pre-compiled Windows build from libreoffice-3-5-1 with debugging

Then you can get nice precise stack traces. Then it'd be great to try to hunt
down the errors. Unfortunately uninitialized memory errors can be hard to find
- they can propagate through the code at great length, and need tracing right
back to the first non-initialization.

Thanks !

Why is there no activity on this bug? Basic editing functionality is broken.

The code introducing this bug has to be rejected from the code base asap.

The summary of this bug is bad. All full wor operations like drag&drop,
rearrange... do not work anymore!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47318] New: Problem Installing Sparkline Extension

2012-03-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47318

 Bug #: 47318
   Summary: Problem Installing Sparkline Extension
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.1 RC2
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Extensions
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: librestep...@gmail.com

I am getting an error while trying to install a free extension called
EuroOffice Sparkline. The extension is listed in the OpenOffice extension
catalog and also here:
http://www.multiracio.com/index.php?lang=en&style=eurooffice&page=eo_ext_sparkline

I have tried installing it in various ways. It succeeds in LibO Portable 3.4.5.
But it fails in LibO Portable 3.5.0, LibO 3.5.1 RC2(not portable version), and
OpenOffice Portable 3.2. I am including the three error messages at the end of
this submission.

I contacted the extension author. Here is what he wrote:

OpenOffice.org Portable is an alternative of OpenOffice.org. We have
tested compatibility of our latest extensions on OpenOffice.org 3.2 and
3.3, LibreOffice 3.3 and 3.4 and EuroOffice 2010. Please use one of
these applications for avoiding any problems.

Tibor Brenner

The website for the extension says, “Our extensions need Python 2.6 or newer
versions.” I understand that the LibO 3.4 and 3.5 releases both use Python
2.6.1. However, the file location is slightly different:

3.4.5 (succeeds)
E:\PortableApps\LibreOfficePortable345\App\libreoffice\program\python.exe

3.5.0 (fails)
E:\PortableApps\LibreOfficePortable\App\libreoffice\program\python-core-2.6.1\bin\python.exe

My system is a Win XP SP3 with 4GB RAM.

Here are the three error messages:

Compressed 6 text CrashReport files, automatically generated by Mac

Problem description: LibreOffice crashes every time I try to use the "change
case" function.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a new text document with LibreOffice
2. Write a few words
3. Select one, few or all words
4. Right-click over one of the select words
5. In the Menu that appears, choose Change Case > UPPERCASE (or in fact any
other option)

Current behavior: LibreOffice crashes

Expected behavior: The selected words should go UPPERCASE (or any other option
selected by the user)

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_8) AppleWebKit/535.11

Additional information:
I had report previously this bug under LO 3.5-RC1 and I notice the problem was
still present with the 3.5 Released version, so I when back to add a commentary
to the bug-report. Surprisingly, I did few test yesterday and I had no
crashes! Everything worked fine while changing case. But today, I had the
same problem again. I tried many times, using different format (.doc, .odt,
.docx) and with more complex os simple formated documents, but the results were
all the same (as shown on the attachement): CRASH...
I'll be glad to do further testing and provide any feedback necessary.
Thanks.

I'm using two keyboard layouts - US and HE. In HE layout, the Q key produces /.
I defined a keyboard shortcut ALT-Q to change paragraph style. When typing in
Hebrew (HE keyboard layout), pressing ALT-Q fails to change the paragraph
style. Defining the same paragraph style change to keyboard shortcuts ALT-E and
ALT-W works fine. For the sake of completeness, in HE layout, the W key
produces ', while the E key produces a Hebrew letter. Also, it did not matter
if the shortcut was defined for LibreOffice or Writer.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46519] embedded VC++ runtime install fails

2012-03-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46519

--- Comment #15 from 0ru...@gmail.com 2012-03-14 10:32:25 PDT ---
First of all, for the record, I advice everyone NOT to remove those folders
like I did, since I have several programs totally not working now!

Andras, I fail to understand how it will use the latest versions, since in your
link it states to remove áll of those folders, which of course include the
latest versions.
Anyway, it didn't help even with the latest ones.

Next trial (without putting those folders back yet):
I had 3 "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008" entries in "Remove programs"
(Redistributables I think), removed them and restarted.
Still not installing.

But you are talking about 2008? I hope that doesn't mean I had to remove VC80
folders and not VC90? Since your link points to a problem of VC80 and proposes
to remove VC80 folders, I gathered that for a VC90 problem VC90 folders should
be removed. Which ones did you remove?

I think after 2 man-days working on this problem, some fix in some next version
is very welcome.
I am giving up. I am going to a corner now and cry.

Thanks for trying though!

System will always use the latest available version from WinSxS folder. So
older versions of the same components are just backups, if you happen to remove

I can also reproduce it, on Windows 7 32bit with 3.5.1.2. Now, I think the
severity should be raised by a notch, it not only causes wrong display of font
characters, but enabling hardware acceleration also causes images to not be
displayed at all on my system.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47303] FORMATTING: Behaviour of Options "Basic Fonts (Western)" is not transparent

2012-03-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47303

--- Comment #1 from harald-koes...@htp-tel.de 2012-03-14 09:54:16 PDT ---
Additional Problem:

If you create a new HTML document the Default basic font is used for nearly all
predefined paragraph styles. The other basic fonts are not used in HTML
documents. If you change this basic font 'Default' while displaying a HTML
document the fonts of this document are not changed. This is different to text
documents where the font is changed, when you save the options.

Expected behaviour: Hence there is a separate category for HTML documents
("LibreOffice Writer/Web") I expect, that the options under "Basic Fonts
(Western)" have no influence on HTML documents.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47313] New: Installation fails with non alpha-numeric characters in program path

2012-03-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47313

 Bug #: 47313
Summary: Installation fails with non alpha-numeric characters
in program path
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.1 RC2
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: bellga...@iftc.uni-hannover.de

I tried to install LibreOffice in parallel to older version as a network image
by using the DOS command

msiexec /a LibO_3.5.1rc2_Win_x86_install_multi.msi

into a folder named d:\$temp. Short before the installation finished the
following message appeared:

MS Visula C++ Runtime Library
Program ...\unopkg.bin
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it
in an unusual way.

Starting soffice.exe then also led to an error message. This behavior was
caused by the $-sign in the path name, which is actually a permissible
character for a Windows path. After removing that $ from the path by a rename
operation soffice.exe could be run! I suppose that other non-alpha-numeric
characters cause the same problem. But another user reported "(" or ")" worked
for him in the path name.

When the installation path contains no $-sign the installation finishes
successfully.

A similar problem can be found for LO Portable. This also fails to run when
being installed into a path containing "$".

I suspect that the original problem may be due to the fact that in certain

However, I think it may be a different problem after all.

 Bug #: 47309
Summary: EDITING: Scrollbars let move the slide almost out of
view space
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: b7.10110...@gmail.com

Created attachment 58438
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=58438
Screenshot

Problem description:
See the screenshot. I've moved the scrollbars to their terminal positions, and
instead of just getting to the corresponding end of slide, I have the slide
almost go away from the viewport.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create an empty presentation
2. Move vertical and horizontal scrollbars to terminal positions
3. See slide almost go away from viewport

Expected behavior:
Scrollbars shouldn't appear when the slide is fully visible in the
corresponding direction, and scrolling shouldn't be possible in this case (the
slide should be centered in the viewport in this direction).
Also, it'd be really useful if when the slide is fully visible, mouse scrolling
switched one slide up/down, like it used to be in MS PowerPoint.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46071] EDITING: Math formula editor frezees after upgrading to 3.5 - PLEASE HELP

2012-03-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46071

--- Comment #11 from Andy 2012-03-14 08:01:27 PDT ---
After some people confirmed the problem I wrote about, I am a bit puzzled since
it is not clear to me if this a problem for all or for a restricted number of
installs. Nobody with any authority to do so has certified this bug as real or
not, actually. But my puzzlement is perhaps due to my being used to Openoffice
bug reporting process, and this works differently here. I just do not know.

And it is to me unclear as well whether incoming upgrades (3.5.1) have this
same problem solved or not... how can I know if it is sensible to install
them?? I have tried to look into the fixed bugs list, and I think I did not
find any mention.
So perhaps this is a problem worrying only the dozen of people reporting it
here, and to nobody else in the world??
Anybody knowledgeable enough please help... thank you

I suspect, because the source document has a footer, that this is a duplicate
of bug 46038, which is now fixed in 3.5.1.

If I'm wrong, and this still crashes in 3.5.1 let me know

I also have this problem, and I think I tried everything. Besides that
information that I will put below, I am completely stuck. What is the the thing

P.S. Check the "processorArchitecture="amd64" in my error below? Is amd64 OK
for a 64 bit intel processor? Maybe it's just a term for compatible processors
or?

INFO:
**ERROR first words
Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly
'policy.9.0.Microsoft.VC90.CRT,publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",version="9.0.30729.6161",processorArchitecture="amd64",type="win32-policy"'.
Please refer to Help and Support for more information.

** Tried:
- if service "Windows Modules Installer" was missing.
It wasn't missing, it was even "started"
- Keeping "Windows Modules Installer" service on manual, stopping it and trying
to install again
Same result. Funny: it's not started at all, ever. (Manual should start it
when requested!)
- Stopping and restarting WMI and then starting setup
Same result.
- Deleting values under registry key
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions
No improvement
- Reinstalling dotnet (developer edition, x86 x64)
No improvement
- Reinstalling "windows installer" is not on option on windows 7
(redistributable for 5.x doesn't exist)
- Running installer with default options (otherwise always custom, because it's
not in the language I want, etc.)
No improvement
- sfc /scannow
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them.
(Log : "D:\Users\Ruben\Documents\Configs, addresses\Software\Windows
problems\scannow log 2012-02-28.txt")
But this is to my opinion, as stated above, possibly normal Windows status for
a developer laptop where some installs have that effect.

Sight. How should I debug on Windows 7? I am not a programmer you know...
Reproducing the crash using this
(http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/win32-debug/libreoffice-3-5/LibO-Dev_3.5.1rc1_Win_x86_install_en-US.msi)
will be any help?
