[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47698] New: After version 3.3 critical problem with svg and pdf export

2012-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47698

 Bug #: 47698
Summary: After version 3.3 critical problem with svg and pdf
export
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: lorenzodetom...@isotype.org

Created attachment 58849
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=58849
Pdf files and screenshots of Writer interface showing the problem.

I have created some Writer documents that include svg images and svg images
with text.
1. Before (>=) version 3.3 everything was ok.
2. After (>) version 3.3 some visualization bugs have appeared for svg files in
Writer interface: doubled contours, bigger strokes etc. Exporting as pdf,
everything was ok. I have tried resolving the bug saving the files without
fonts embedding (only vectors, creating outlines for fonts) but the problem
persists.
3. From version 3.5 visualization bugs for svg files in Writer interface are
incremented: some vectors (no text) are "exploded" (for example an envelope has
become a composition of triangles) and the problem is extended to pdf export.

The odt file is always the same and, if I install older versions of LibreOffice
, the problem decreases or disappears (3.3).

Thank you.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47699] New: FILEOPEN: object saved with 3.4 opens bad with 3.5

2012-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47699

 Bug #: 47699
Summary: FILEOPEN: object saved with 3.4 opens bad with 3.5
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Drawing
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: yusufb...@yahoo.com

Created attachment 58850
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=58850
the pictures of saved and opened object.

Problem description: I had an odg drawing created some time ago with OpenOffice
Draw in Windows. I opened it with LibreOffice 3.5 and saw that an object was
distorted. I opened the file with LibreOffice 3.4 in Windows, there was no
problem.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In LibreOffice 3.4 (or below) open a new .odg document.
2. Draw three rectangular strips close to each other.
3. Group the strips.
4. Draw a circle on the strips to cover them partially.
5. Select the grouped strips and the circle together. Take intersection of
them, so you'll have three strips with their narrow edges rounded.
6. Select the shape and give it some some rotation from Position and Size.
7. Save it as .odg
8. Open the saved odg document with LibreOffice 3.5.
9. The drawing is not what you created.

Current behavior:A specific object created and saved with 3.4 (or below) in odg
format doesn't open the same in 3.5

Expected behavior: An odg file is expected to be stable between software
versions.

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101

Artefacts in LibreOffice Start Center

When the LibreOffice Start Center is displayed, it apparently does not redraw
the entire background of LibreOffice window anymore. Please have a look at
attached screenshot.

When you have opened any document, please close the document so that the
LibreOffice Start Center appears again. You will see artefacts/fragments of the
previous document still in the background of the LibreOffice Start Center.

I assume that this is an easy to fix bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47495] Problem with RTF documents created using Oracle Report

Created attachment 58852

Eample files of MSOffice rtf file, corrupted by LibreOffice

One more problem Example 4

Create a document in Microsoft Office 2007 SP3, write in it a single line of
text, save as RTF (Example 4 Step 1.rtf). Exit Microsoft Office 2007 SP3.
Open the document in LibreOffice 3.4.5 or 3.5.1. Copy this line of text and
paste it into document, to get two identical lines of text one after another.
Again, re-save document in RTF format (Example 4 Step 2.rtf). Exit LibreOffice.
Try to open file "Example 4 Step 2.rtf" using the Microsoft Office 2007 SP3.
File does not open, says that it is corrupted.
Try to open file "Example 4 Step 2.rtf" using LibreOffice. File may be opened,
but the text is completely unreadable (instead of the Russian text we see
strange set of symbols or sometimes something like "arabic characters").
As a result, file "Example 4 Step 2.rtf" is completely unsuitable for further
use.
Sorry for my poor English.

Hi Matt,
I have the same behaviour (Ubuntu 11.04) but when running the presentation, the
movies show fine. Of course, if supported by my local media players.

Doesn't the move show when you run the presentation ?
Are you able to play the movie in your local media players?

This is intended behaviour yes.

This too.

So all is clear :-) > I close this issue.

Reproducible in 3.5.1 on Fedora 64 bit
IMHO it is not a bug but uncompleted feature. It intended for reuse path for
different objects or animations. So, path not deleted automatically.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44010] Frame borders not visible with text direction set vertical

2012-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44010

--- Comment #3 from flychopp...@livedoor.com 2012-03-22 03:14:43 PDT ---
This problem is observed both on LibreOffice Writer 3.4 and 3.5, both on
Windows (XP 32 bit & Vista 64 bit) and Debian Squeeze.

Further investigation revealed that this problem occurs when the direction of
the text flow inside the frame is set to “vertical”.

Vertical writing can be enabled by setting following:

Tools – Options – Language setting – Languages - Enabled for Asian languages

By enabling this option, vertical text flow can be selected within frame
option.

As of the time of release of L.O. 3.5.1, this problem has not fixed.

--- Comment #5 from Jean-Baptiste Faure 2012-03-22
05:39:17 PDT ---
I see two problems with the import of this RTF file :
1/ titles without numbering -> 0 is added in front of the line
2/ RTF filter seems to not accept negative first line indent.

Side note : if you consider formatting as data, there is nothing in a document
that is not data and the keyword dataloss becomes useless.
In this case, no text fragment has been lost in the RTF export, so no data
loss.

Miklos : this one is for you. Please feel free to reassign if you can't handle
this bug.

Best regards. JBF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42939] SVG: Export: Line width ratio wrong

2012-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42939

--- Comment #4 from Christina Rossmanith 2012-03-22
06:55:15 PDT ---
The problem can be solved if "stroke-width" with an appropriate value is added
to the paths. 1cm equals 1200 units in circle.svg, thus the circle border
(0.1cm) needs stroke-width="120" added and the grey lines stroke-width="12".

The result then still looks different from the odg original (grey lines too
wide). BUT if you change line thickness of a single grey line in the odg from
0.01cm to something different and back to 0.01cm that line width is like in the
exported svg (cf. attachment circle_work.odg)

Having just tested version 3.5.1 on my fast PC under Windows7 64bit, I can now
report that the performance is worse than it was for version 3.5.0, with a
delay of between 0.5 and 1 second to edit the fields.

Not yet tested on the older laptop under XP.

Sample file uploaded for replications test.

Could this somehow be related to the newly introduced 'unlimited number of
rules for conditional formatting' feature?

No it did not run in the presentation, or while editing. Yes I could play the
movie in the movie player.

I did get the movie to be playable in the presentation by installing the java
media framework. Then the movies would play, but I could not change settings on
them as far as repeat / start when click. So it would not work sufficiently.

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice

  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: s...@aquintos.com

Repro:
Enter some text (at least one word) into the first line of an empty
writer-document.
Press the toolbar-button for decrement indentation.
After 4 clicks the text disappeared on the left border of the document.

There is a similar (closed) issue coming from OOo:

This behaviour is reproducable on all OOo/LibO-versions I had (OOo3.2, 3.3,
LibO3.3, 3.4, 3.5)

Btw.: If you increase the indentation instead it stops on the right border of
the paragraph area.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47719] New: SLIDESHOW shows Han characters fat and ugly with Hardware Acceleration activated

2012-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47719

 Bug #: 47719
Summary: SLIDESHOW shows Han characters fat and ugly with
Hardware Acceleration activated
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.1 Release
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: pswo10...@gmail.com

Created attachment 58872
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=58872
The sample presetation.

With sample document (as attachment), Han characters on first slide will be
shown too fat and ugly during slide show with "Hardware Acceleration"
activated.

Steps how to reproduce with "LibreOffice 3.5.1" on Fedora x64 plaform.

1. open document, activate menu 'Tools -> Options -> Viewing ->
   Hardware acceleration' if necessary
2. start the slideshow with first slide and compare text view with text view in
   edit mode.
   Expected: no difference
Actual: During slideshow, Han characters became fat (looks like many strokes
overlapping each other) and ugly.

The ugly text also is visible with presentations created from the scratch.

I was using Windows version of 3.5.0 from http://portableapps.com/ .
The official installer could cause permission error using my restrictive
account.

The problem does not appear in OSX version of 3.5.1.
Thank you for your work!

@Phillip Ross:
That's life - When you see the crash again, please try to gain more
information,

May be hints on will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem? If you
believe that that is really sophisticated please as for Help on a user mailing
list
Please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Reduce contents what causes the crash from step to step halving text size and
checking whether the crash still happens.
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
mouse click how to reproduce your problem (due to example in Bug 43431).
"Copy
  paste" is much too general.
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
-- concerning your PC (video card, ...)
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language, Locale
setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
(video hardware acceleration ...)
-- how you launch LibO and what Browser you use
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Even if you can not provide all demanded information, every little new
information might bring the breakthrough.
May be you can test for submitting
bug reports?

Example presentation

Moving or resizing text boxes is very slow in Impress when image antialiasing
is enabled. I thought this old bug was already reported but it seems not.
However, I'm not an Ubuntu user but I saw a bug report
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/411542) that
deals with the same issue.

To reproduce : open the attached presentation example, and, with image
antialiasing enabled in the LibreOffice options, try to move or resize the box
which contains the text "Example (slow)". This operation is very slow even on a
fast machine. If you disable image antialiasing in the LibreOffice options then
the move / resize operation becomes very fast and usable.

I also discovered that reducing the box size around the text greatly improves
the speed (with antialiasing enabled). This can be checked on the example by
moving the box which contains the text "Example (fast)".

The bug appears (at least) on LibreOffice 3.4.3 and 3.5.1, on Linux (Official
build with deb packages on Debian Squeeze) or Windows XP SP3 (Official build).
And since I have two computers with ATI and Nvidia graphic cards, it seems to
be independent of the hardware.
