Sample diagram in LibreOffice calc 'testconfig.ods' -- displays the incorrect
sizing

I have drawings made for a single cell in the spreadsheet calc with the drawing
tools of calc. When the page is loaded at a different time, parts of my
drawings with grouped items are imaged much larger than normal. I usually
resize them and they're okay until I reload the page later. My work-around is
to ungroup the items though I prefer not to as they tend to have many parts.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47542] : Crashes during conversion from doc or xls documents into odf formats

Comment on attachment 58985
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=58985
xls converted

Well I do not know what to say, the xls file crashes LO 3.5.1 in all my
machines, and leaves a lock file in the directory called .~lock.ESTADISTICA
TESIS.xls# its content is:

"Carlos Sevcik,csevcik,avispa,24.03.2012
20:11,file:///home/csevcik/.config/libreoffice/3;"

the doc file, as loaded extremely slowly in my Asus Eee netbook, but crashes my
2 64 bit machines. In my home machine I run Linux Mint 11 and just produced
this lock file with the crash:

.~lock.BactridinesCharact Rev_Cecilia_28012012.doc#

Its content is the same as above

"Carlos Sevcik,csevcik,avispa,20.03.2012
21:58,file:///home/csevcik/.config/libreoffice/3;"

after the doc crash /home/csevcik/.config/libreoffice/3 containes a .lock file
with the following content:

[Lockdata]
User=csevcik
Host=avispa
Stamp=EACAA41FAC1C3B7C67FCB38C220F14D6
Time=Sat Mar 24 20:23:27 2012
IPCServer=true

The many comments and edit messages in the manuscript are corrections and
suggestions crossed with a colleague.

I think you are using a native Debian machine 32? 64? bits, my office machine
runs Linux Mint 12 also with LO 3.5.1. Linux Mint is a Ubuntu derivative, which
in turn is a Debian derivative. Mint 11 runs gnome 2 with a AMD Athlon x2
processor, while Linux Mint 12 runs gnome 3 on a Core5i processor. Both
machines have 4 GB Ram.

The Mint 11 machine runs linux kernel 2.6.38-8-generic, the Mint 12 machine
runs linux kernel 3.0.0-12-generic. Do not now if the info helps.

Problem description:
Presenter console show just raw text from notes, all character and paragraph
formatting is ignored.
When you have a lot text in note, you want to format it for better readability,
and maybe mark some text bold, when it needed to click and show something new
on slide. Presenter console is awesome alternative for paper notes because it
always on secondary screen and it automatically changes with slides. But all
notes text formatting is ignored.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch slide show on dual screen system. Slides will appear on one screen,
presenter console on another.
2. Turn on notes displaying.
3. See unformatted text in notes section (before it, for example, make some
text bold in notes)

Current behavior:
unformatted text in Presenter console notes section
Expected behavior:
Presenter console display all text formatting

Sorry for my English

Since several versions of OO and today LO, I am missing a function in draw,
that let me stretch simmetrically a text object, either horizontally or
vertically.

It was able to do, pressing alt key and drag with the mouse. Be careful, I am
saying simmetrically, not proportionally.

Today, under linux, I have found that when I do this, LO window become smaller,
either it be a text object or a drawing object (ellipse, square, etc.)

Under windows, it can only stretch drawing objects, did not work on text
objects.

When I work with texts I am setting "text adjusted to frame".

First,I have to apologize for my poor English, because I am not a native
English spoken, but I will try to do my best to be understandable.

Since I have used OpenOffice under linux, there is a trouble with trying to
stretch text to frame. Before, under windows, text adjusted to frame will be
able to stretch dynamically in any direction and any size.

Meanwhile, under linux, a text frame only can be stretched by steps, alike when
you fit against grid, and moreover to be right, this text frame cannot be
stretched, it can only be deformed proportionally by steps. More exactly, the
frame can be stretched, but text inside did not follow the frame, only by
steps.

Another thing, when a picture created under windows is opened under linux, text
objects works well. Moreover when this text object is pasted into another draw
it works well too.

But today, I have found that both versions, linux and windows, did not work
well at this point.

The problem is with native printing.
I didn't get a chance to check it with LibO 3.5.1 though.

1. Platform is Windows XP SP3
2. With v.3.5.1. placement of frames greatly improved.

Check boxes that I mentioned before appeared to be just squares in MS Word, so
no exactly check-box issue here, but please see 2 screenshots, I marked on the
1st pages of the converted .odt problems:
1) document itself is a bit shifted to the left;
2) tabulators - occasionally;
3) few check-box like squares converted into 14 7 digits;
4) a text box in the footer is of smaller size and is misplaced;
5) all narrow frames appears like bold one

 Bug #: 47820
Summary: Secunia PSI reports program out-of-date despite katest
release being installed
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.1 Release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: michaels.pe...@hotmail.co.uk

It would appear that a file, or some files, are not informing Secunia PSI 2.0
that LibreOffice is fully up-to-date and it seems Secunia is 'seeing' version
3.5.0.102 instead of version 3.5.1, so it thinks LibreOffice is out-of-date and
insecure.
Please discuss with Secunia what the problem is so thet either you or they can
correct it.

Problem description:
For some reason, my Openoffice/Libreoffice Tips facility considerably slows the
UI down.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable Tools/Options/General/Help Tips
2. Click around or hover on toolbar icon

Current behavior:
* It takes up to 2 seconds for the menu text or icon to 'raise' indicating
clickability. Once raised, it registers a click rapidly. If I click prior to
the 2 seconds, it will delay until the click registers.

Expected behavior:
* UI is snappy irrelevant of Help Tips setting.

Related to or DUO of "Bug 39540 - EDITING Improve performance for insert big
tables"?
Generally every software can be overloaded, if not with 1rows/1000columns
may be with a million rows and a million couluns. But for what should that be
useful?

Christopher Yeleighton:
We still need your sample document and some reasons why you believe that LibO
does not fulfill normal requirements what you can expect from a WORD processor.

Wrong alignment of numbers inside math matrices

The instructions alignr , alignc, and alignl are no more operational with
matrix command. Their consequences are bizarre.
See attachment for exact description and examples.

This bug appeared with version 3.4 and is still present in 3.5.1.2.
(The 3.3 version does not have this bug.)
The same bug appears with Open Office new versions...

Tested on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and Mac OS X 10.7.3 (Lion).

Your text is on the boundary of unresponsiveness. I pasted your data to a new
document and told Writer to convert text to table. Then I told the Window
Manager to close the document window and I got a notification that the
application is not responding. Shortly thereafter, I got a question from
Writer whether to save the modified document and the window manager
notification disappeared.

Depending on your hardware, you may want to try with a bigger N.

I opened a new writer document, inserted a chart (german UI) and changed the

It didn't work (pls. refer to the attached file...)
Italo Vignoli tried it, so it might be a REGRESSION (

ASAP I will try it with the latest RC...

On pc Debian x86-64 with 3.5 branch updated today, I didn't reproduce the
crash.

However, I hadn't the picture on the pdf so I tried to copy paste the table on

table), no crash and all was exported on the pdf. Now you just have to
reformat.

I wonder if the crash is not linked with this :

Confirmed : LibO 3.5.2 RC1 crashes while loading the RTF file
http://www.sbrf.ru/common/img/uploaded/files/pdf/legal/Blank_plat_por_val.rtf

LibO 3.4.5 : file totally messed up

LibO 3.3.4, OOo 3.1 : file nearly usable (2 pages instead of one, second page
is empty

(I confirm the problems with the doc file (attachment 3) too, but it is another
bug and should be filed separately)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47807] New: Style changes not undoing from icon and feature request.

2012-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47807

 Bug #: 47807
Summary: Style changes not undoing from icon and feature
request.
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.1 Release
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: ski...@alum.mit.edu

This report is both a bug(s) and an enhancement request. The basic bug:

If you change a style from from the style editor any change you make can not be
undone by the icons. Steps:

1. Create a blank writer document.
2. Modify a child style (for example Footer) by making any change (for example
change the font to 20pt).
3. Select "Apply".
4. Go to the "Organizer" tab of the dialog and notice that "Contains" field is
blank (THIS IS BUG #1, which I can confirm on WinXP32 right now). As the
"Apply" button is new to LO3.5 I don't think I would call that a regression.
5. Now select "OK" or "Cancel".
6. Modify that child style again (i.e. Footer).
7. Go to the "Organizer" tab. Note that "Contains" field has the change(s) you
made (i.e. 20pt font size).
8. Close the dialog selecting "Cancel"
9. Note that the undo icon does not have record of this change (THIS IS BUG
#2).
10. Go to the "Edit" menu and select "Undo: Change style: Footer". This will
reset the style change that was made, which is correct functionality (fixed
from LO3.4).

If you have a style that has been changed from the parent there does not,
AFAICT, appear to be a method to revert back to parent (other than undo which
does not help you if editing an previously saved document). If I say have in
the past changed the font size of Footer to 20PT and Default is 12PT there is
no way to relink the font size back to the the "Linked with". I can manually
change back to 12PT it does not reestablish the link. So this is the
ENHANCEMENT request (there maybe better implementations but here is one
example):

Next to every items in the "Contains" field have a "x" in a circle that you
could click on it to reset that items link back to the parent in the
organization. For example it would read:

"(x)Western text: 20pt + (x)0.0 inch + (x)Indent left 0.2inch, First line..."
whereever (x) is an "x" in a circle and if you click on it that link is reset
back to parent and item is removed from the list.

An alternative implementation is to program item level resets for each item on
all the tabs (this seems like more coding to me).

This is a major bug and needs to be fixed ASAP.

It is a regression against 3.5.0 and since Hardware Acceleration is enabled by
default it affects ALL Windows users.

It makes Impress 3.5.1 unusable for presentations.

Although the wrong registry entries are fixed in 3.5.1, the shell extensions
are still not enabled after a clean installation of LibreOffice 3.5.1 in
Windows x64.

Procedure:
In a clean Windows 7 x64 system you install LibreOffice 3.5.1. After
installation, libreoffice document properties and images are not shown in
windows explorer.

Manually registering the following dlls (win admin rights) solves the problem:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice
3.5\program\shlxthdl\ooofilt_x64.dll"
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice

Sample document for printing.

Problem description:
When using multi-print with my regular printer (HP OfficeJet 4500 g510n-10)

portrait.

Seems similiar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/889108.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create multipage document
2. File -> Print -> Page-Layout -> select 2 pages
3. Start print

Current behavior:
Pages are printed unscaled, unrotated and thus truncated in portrait mode.

Expected behavior:
Pages get rotated, scaled and printed landscape.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45694] Alignment of MathType equations

2012-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45694

--- Comment #3 from Pierre Farrugia 2012-03-24
07:44:04 PDT ---
Hi,

Thank you for your reply. If I understood right you suggest that

   - Format one equation as I would like it
   - Create a new style (say X) from the formatted equation
   - Apply style X to any new equation that I create

I have tried to follow the above procedure and I have encountered the
following problems:

   - Proper style can depend on the equation. For example when there is a
fraction the style 123 that you have provided does not yield the optimal
setting. This means that multiple styles need to be created depending on
what is contained within the equation. If the number of styles increases
substantially you can loose track to what each style can refer to making a
copy and paste procedure of an already formatted equation more feasible. (I
have adopted this procedure thus far.)
   - I could not transfer properly the provided style 123 to a new
   document.
  - What I had to do was to edit an equation using style 123
  - Copy the edited equation to the new document
  - Create style 123 in the new document from the equation

The style was now available in the new document (but only in that
document). However, it did not work properly and started stretching the
equations I wanted to format. The same thing suddenly started happening in
the document you sent me. Have no idea what went wrong.

Hope this feedback helps and thank you for your assistance and good work.

Regards,

Pierre

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47325] : Existing Base reports won't open in LibreOffice 3.5

2012-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47325

--- Comment #1 from Ian~G 2012-03-24 05:42:06 PDT ---
same here on linux (ubuntu 11.10) with reports created on openoffice 3.2.1
under linux (ubuntu 10.04 lts)

also same on libreoffice 3.5.1

also existing reports did not run on libreoffice 3.4.5

i also agree your views on report-builder. it is very klunky - once you have
figured out where the wizard templates live and have edited the errors out of
them, the wizard works very well for rapid report creation.

in terms of upgrading, this is a show-stopper for me as an office front-end to
our MySQL database is essential to running our uk charity and my carefully
crafted reports won't run on libreoffice.

it is also not possible to re-create them. ie create new ones, due to bug
47473.

we will not be able to upgrade ubuntu 10.04 lts to 12.04 lts until these
problems are fixed as deploying openoffice 3.3 under unity is rather painful.

NOT [Reproducible] with attached document created similar as reported (I was
too lazy to do it the exact way) and with "LibreOffice Portable 3.3.0 - WIN7
Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO330m19 (Build:6) tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4]".
We really need a sample document.

@Christopher Yeleighton:
We really need the sample document.
Can we simply say "Crash wehen convert very big tables"?
Your Version is very outdated, may be you want to try with a current one?
