 Bug #: 48022
Summary: FILEOPEN: MS-Office ppt file can be opened, but when
slide show is executed only blue screen is displayed
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.1 Release
  Platform: Other

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

PPT file can be opened but when slide show is executed only blue screen is
displayed

Using LibreOffice v3.5.1 Impress on Windows XP. I opened attached ppt file and
file opens successfully. In the right site I can clearly see slides. But when
running a presentation slide show with then only blue screen is displayed.
No slides are visible. So this file can't be seen in LibreOffice.

I also tried pressing a mouse or key and nothing really happens - but
it looks like slides are trying to be displayed, because if I press key
to abort presentation I see non-first slide is currently marked as active slide
- so Enter key is working properly to go to Next slide - but no content
displayed.

Reproduced in 3.3.4 and 3.5.1 on Fedora 64 bit
But in 3.3.4 we see master page instead of actual page. And in 3.5.1 we see
frames for fields in bottom of slide

When the spellchecker is invoked (F7), if the document contains no errors (eg
if the document is empty), the Options button cannot be accessed since
LibreOffice simply shows a message box saying "The spellcheck is complete" and
immediately closes the spell check dialog without giving an option to invoke
options, which could affect what is counted as an error.

The disadvantage of that first example is that it's not easy to find out for
what tests it should be used.

I believe test documents should fulfill following criteria

Document Name should give a hint concerning test
Spreadsheet document should contain information in a sheet named
"TestInstructions":

Author of document:
Tests for:
Expected test result:
How to reproduce (facultative):
Unexpected (facultative):

I attach "Performance3DSmoothLines.ods" following these ideas

Here is a query leading to Bugs with charts:

For collecting test charts I propose following proceeding:

1. Run this modified shared query:

2. Attach reworked sample document here with some hints
3. "Edit Search" from step 1
4. Add Bug ID number of bug where you found the document to
Second line "Bug ID" of "Custom Search"
5. Search
6. Remember Search

I hope that proceeding will work, I do not have much experience with those
shared queries.

@Markus: May be you want to give some additional hints concerning requirements
for optimum test documents?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48018] New: : Report Does Not Sort by Groupings

2012-03-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48018

 Bug #: 48018
Summary: : Report Does Not Sort by Groupings
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.6 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Database
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: acreech2...@gmail.com

Created attachment 59185
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=59185
Database with the issue.

Problem description:

Report in Database does not sort by the groupings.

Steps to reproduce:

I have a database of recipes. I have setup fields such as ID (Primary Key),
Cookbook (name), Recipe Name, Number of Servings, Calories Per Serving, From
the Kitchen of, Ingredients, Instructions, and Note.

I then created a query to select only certain cookbook entries and then sort by
recipe name. The query sorts correctly. The SQL for the Query is:

SELECT "ID" AS "ID", "cookbook" AS "cookbook", "Recipe Name" AS "Recipe Name",
"Number of Servings" AS "Number of Servings", "Calories Per Serving" AS
"Calories Per Serving", "From the Kitchen of" AS "From the Kitchen of",
"Ingredients" AS "Ingredients", "Instructions" AS "Instructions", "Note" AS
"Note" FROM "Appetizer" WHERE ( "cookbook" = 'Creech' OR "cookbook" =
'Patterson' OR "cookbook" = 'Pampered Chef' ) ORDER BY "Recipe Name" ASC, "From
the Kitchen of" ASC

Current behavior:

Then I created a report, using the report wizard on the query. I setup
groupings for "Recipe Name", "Ingredients", "Instructions", and "Note". The
groupings are sorted by ascending, in the order listed above. the fields "From
the Kitchen of", Number of Servings", and Calories per Servings" are also
included in the report.

Expected behavior:

Report should sort the database by recipe name so that they are all in
alphabetical order.

I am running LibreOffice in a 2008 R2 RDS (Remote Desktop Services)
environment. We have many servers running LibreOffice. Users have their
application data folder redirected to a network location.

Consider the following scenario with the environment above:

1. User A and B open LibreOffice running on server 1
2. User A and B close LibreOffice
3. User A opens LibreOffice and it runs on server 2. User A will not have
Language Modules and spellcheck will fail to work
4. User B opens LibreOffice and it runs on server 1. Users B will have Language
Modules and spellcheck will work
5. If User A closes LibreOffice on server 2 and opens it on Server 1. Language
Modules will be there, and spellcheck will work

It seems that when LibreOffice first runs it saves something that relates to
the computer that it was first run on. So long as LibreOffice continues to run
on that computer (or server) spellcheck will continue to work.

However as this is a RDS environment, it is very likely that users will run
LibreOffice on other computers.

I tracked the issue down to the LibreOffice/3/user/extensions folder. If I
delete this folder it will re-create the next time LibreOffice is run and
spellcheck will work correctly. Indeed all I really need to do is delete a
lastsynchronized file.

While I have a workaround (deleting the lastsynchronized file when the user
logs off), its not exactly elegant. If this can be fixed I would appreciate it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48015] New: Option to export all sheet from Drawing and Presentation module

2012-03-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.1 Release
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Drawing
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: ski...@alum.mit.edu

Currently if I have a 10 sheet drawing or 10 sheet presentation and I want to
export all the sheets as png files I have to export one sheet at a time. For
each sheet I have to enter the resolution and page size. It is very tedious.

Enhancement: Add ability to select slide to the bitmap export dialog (png, bmp,
jpg, etc) similar to how you select pages in the print dialog. Default could be
"Selection" which is similar functionality to what is current. If you select
more than one slide it will automatically append the slide number to the
filename. For example if you type in slides 2,7,8-12,14 and you enter the
filename of "My Exported Slides" when you export a png, it will output the
followings:

My Exported Slides02.png
My Exported Slides07.png
My Exported Slides08.png
My Exported Slides08.png
My Exported Slides10.png
My Exported Slides11.png
My Exported Slides12.png

I just have to create a blank presentation for this to happen.
I'm using LibO 3.5.1 on Arch Linux right now and it still happens.
Just Put some text into the slide (so that you can see the problem), click on
the 'Handout' tab and then click on the 'Outline' tab. The slide(s) don't show
up, only the Master.
I'll attach one anyway though.

I didn't reproduce all the cases, just 1 with 2 different versions : 3.4.5 and
3.5 branch and didn't have the problem as you can see.

Since there's no plan for 3.4.X after 3.4.6 (see

3.4.6) or give 3.5.1 a try.

Even if you haven't the precise version code, could you tell if it was 3.3.X or
3.4.X ?
Could you attach the file so we can try to reproduce and try to debug ?
Finally, did you try to remove/backup your LO profile (~/.config/libreoffice,
~/.libreoffice, check both) ?

You're right. It is more clear if you activated extended tips (Tools > Options
> LibreOffice > General). The background color button in the table toolbar is
intended for paragraph background, not for cell background.

So closing as NotABug. Thank you, we have learned something :-)

Best regards. JBF

I have a large (1100 page) document that I've been editing with OO.org and LO
for six years without any particular problems, but LO 3.5 has changed all that.

Editing any text takes an age. I can type a sentence and then site and watch as
LO painstakingly puts each letter on the screen for me. I was following the LO
PPA in Ubuntu 11.10, but had to remove it when 3.5 was released. I've retested
with the latest LO 3.5.1 in Ubuntu 12.04 and it's no better.

Help!

Late this afternoon I did a fresh userprofile-start for 3.5.2 and had > 60
seconds start too. So it varies a bit, between say long and very long ..

I could do some more measurements, e.g. with certain extensions removed from
presets (or where ever they may be atm). But rather unsure if that provides you
with usefull data, that is not easier to retrieve for yourself. (And it limits
the time I can spend on other useful stuf :-\ )
But if you think it does make a lot of sense ...

Thanks for looking at this ;-)

I inserted a column between two existing columns in a Calc spreadsheet, then
created a formula in a cell in the inserted column. The formula showed the
correct value in the wizard, but showed the formula, not the result, in the
cell. I tried repeating this with different formulas, also in a newly created
spreadsheet. The formulas evaluated correctly if put in a pre-existing cell
(i.e. not in an inserted column) but not anywhere in the inserted column.
I cannot recall whether I came across this situation in any previous version. I
have not yet downloaded 3.5.2 RC1 to see whether this occurs in that version
also.

Not sure if things have been moved about, but here's the Library where I
assume the generator should live, if one was installed by LO 3.5, and you
will notice the presence of the old OOo generator from 2007 and the neopeek
generator that is at least partially successful (provides formatted image
without correct font for odt, but works for ods.)

I am happy to tweak whatever on instructions from whomever so as to test any
solutions, but I have yet to see anything for LO that purports to fix
this.

[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.5.1.2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID:
dc9775d-05ecbee-0851ad3-1586698-727bf66] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

I additionally checked with a 5 pages document filed "Page Number" and "Page
Count" (total number of pages) on each page, printed with reeporter's address
database. First page of all correctly show Page 1 of 5, all further pages in
all documents show Page 5 of 5 Pages on all pages.

Same with OOo 3.1.1., so that problem seems inherited from OOo.

Reporter also submitted AOOo "Bug#116780 - Mail merge printing problems in
OpenOffice.org 3.3 (Writer)"

Still a Problem with Master "LOdev 3.6.0alpha0+ English UI/Locale [Build ID:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48006] New: EDITING: Moving rows with drag and drop only inserts part of the line

2012-03-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48006

 Bug #: 48006
Summary: EDITING: Moving rows with drag and drop only inserts
part of the line
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.1 Release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: b...@potthast.info

Created attachment 59167
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=59167
Screenshot of Spreadsheet after described procedure

Problem description:
Moving rows with drag and drop does not shift entire row

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a spreadsheet with 4 entries (e.g. "1" to "4") in row 2, 3 entries
(e.g. "5" to "7") in row 3, 2 entries (e.g. "8" to "9" in row 4 and 1 entry
(e.g. "10") in row 5
2. Select entire row 4 (values "8" and "9")
3. Move row 4 by drag and drop between row 2 and row 3 while pressing the "Alt"
key
4. Release mouse button

Current behavior:
Row 3 now contains numbers "8", "9" and "7"

Expected behavior:
As I selected the entire row and wanted to move the entire row, I expected that
the entire former row 4 would be inserted above the former row 3, i.e. that
everything from row 3 downwards is shifted down and row 3 replaced by the
former row 4. I expected the values "8" and "9" in row 3, and the values "5" to
"7" in row 4. But the drag and drop only takes the cells from the first to the
last non-empty cell, and only shifts that part of the spreadsheet down when
inserting the values per drag and drop. In former versions of OpenOffice the
drag and drop worked as expected (at least as I expected it and as I also know
it from Excel). If I only wanted to insert certain cells I would only select
those cells, but if I select the entire row I would also expect the entire row
to be inserted. I also noticed that the undo operation afterwards (after I
noticed this bug) then selected a different row than the row which I selected
before the drag and drop operation. I also noticed that if the first column is
empty I cannot move the row selection properly to the upper rows.

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47759] PDF/A1a export creates non standard conform file

2012-03-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I submitted Hybrid-PDF.pdf to two validation sites.

http://www.validatepdfa.com/ (which can only test for PDF/A-1b) returned this
report:

reserved.

Incorrect value 'A' used for property
'pdfaid:conformance'
Recommended property 'format' for schema 'dc' missing

I tried to confirm this with the tool referenced in the earlier comment, but I
don't think the tool worked.
http://www.pdf-tools.com/pdf/validate-pdfa-online.aspx (testing for PDF/A-1a)
gave this report:
Hybrid-PDF.pdf does not conform to PDF/A.

Validating file "Hybrid-PDF.pdf" for conformance level pdfa-1a
Error in DCT stream: Read failed on temporary file.
   The filter DCTDecode is unknown.
The image's sample stream's computed length 958800 is different to the
actual length 0.
The document does not conform to the requested standard.
The document doesn't conform to the PDF reference (missing required entries,
wrong value types, etc.).

The latter report looks erroneous to me.

Done.

As you can see, there is quite a bit of detritus here. If 3.5 was supposed to
resolve this bug - and the bug does not appear in new installations, then
upgrading is not resolving issues from prior installs and arguably the install
should address that or there should be a specific procedure identified for
curing the problem.

ODTs in LO 3.5 on OSX 10.6 still do not appear correctly (format is there but
font is not), though ods files do. As I have tested on systems that have had
previous installs of OOo or LO it is possible that this failure is an artifact,
but if so, it is an artifact that should be resolved through any installation.
To put the question back to others, has anyone seen any resolution of this
bug, and why would confirmation be required unless some change were made, and
if so what cganges were made and where would we look to examine those changes?

Yes, it works with LO 3.5.

> Now Writer remembers list view for Stylist, but one for all types of styles.
> It is important to remember each type separately?

LO remembers one default view for each application.
That is enough to close this issue.

You should open a feature request if you think we should have the possibility
to have different settings for each type of styles.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47983] initializing extensions in daily from Master slooow

2012-03-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47983

06:10:36 PDT ---
So - instrumenting osl_syncFile - I see we have 144 fsyncs on this first-start
path, which seems like rather a lot. Here is how they break-down:

 40 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.configuration.PackageRegistryBackend/backenddb.xml'
 39 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.configuration.PackageRegistryBackend/configmgr.ini'
 11 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.bundle.PackageRegistryBackend/backenddb.xml'
  8 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.component.PackageRegistryBackend/backenddb.xml'
  5 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.component.PackageRegistryBackend/unorc'
  5 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.component.PackageRegistryBackend/Linux_x86rc'
  4 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.help.PackageRegistryBackend/backenddb.xml'
  3 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.script.PackageRegistryBackend/backenddb.xml'
  2 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.help.PackageRegistryBackend/luot57qu.tmp/en-US/help.jar'
  2 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.help.PackageRegistryBackend/luot57qq.tmp/en-US/help.jar'
  2 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.help.PackageRegistryBackend/luot57q9.tmp/en-US/help.jar'
  2 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.executable.PackageRegistryBackend/backenddb.xml'
  2 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/bundled/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.component.PackageRegistryBackend/Linux_x86.rdb'
  1 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/uno_packages/cache/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.help.PackageRegistryBackend/backenddb.xml'
  1 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/uno_packages/cache/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.configuration.PackageRegistryBackend/backenddb.xml'
  1 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/uno_packages/cache/log.txt'
  1 osl_syncFile
'/home/michael/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions/shared/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.help.PackageRegistryBackend/backenddb.xml'
...

and another 16 or so single osl_syncFiles in ~/.config

If I was an evil person, I'd hack osl_syncFile to simply not sync any files in
~/.config.

So the big jump was 351 to 352 ? if so I guess that is the fsync patch, why it
is worse in a daily, that is really unclear ;-)

I'm just digging into a few of these osl_syncFile traces

Hi,

I can reproduce on Win7 with LibO 3.4.6 and LibO 3.5.1.
The same problem occurs with extension "Clipart gallery of danger signs"
http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/gallery-of-danger-signs

1. Install extension and restart LibO
2. Open Gallery
3. Select "Signalétique Chemical Product" Them
4. Drag and drop first clipart (GHS-general)
=> with LibO 3.4 the clipart is correctly inserted. OK
=> with LibO 3.5 the different elements of the clipart are separated
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/820/immaginesmr.png/

However, the bug does not apply to all cliparts. I could not identify what
makes wrong exactly.

This is a regression.

2012-03-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34502

--- Comment #9 from sasha.libreoff...@gmail.com 2012-03-28 05:19:02 UTC ---
Steps to reproduce:
0. Open file Sample-file.odt from attachment, other file just download
1. Tools->Mailmerge wizard
2. Next until Step 3 of Wizard.
3. Select address list-> choose file Timbri Copie -> choose first table
4. Next until Step 8 of Wizard.
5. choose "Save merged document", press "Save documents"
6. Open resulting document
Expected: number of page contains number of page
Actually: number of page always 4 (we see 4/5 on each page except of first)
(number of pages placed on left/right side of initial document)

Why expected: I think that number of pages should work as in initial document,
difference of initial document should be only in Database fields.

I created a simple presentation. A single page with a bitmap for a background
and two lines of green text. When the slideshow runs the bitmap is not
displayed and the screen is white. The text is displayed but it appears
irregular with strange spacing between letters and the font is distorted. I've
included a screen shot taken from a tri-screen system (however the same results
show on a single screen system) and the original presentation file. I have the
same results on three 32bit windows xp machines and a brand new out of the box
64bit windows 7 machine.

Strange expectation. IMHO automatic means that colors always differ from

DUP of or related to "Bug 31606 - Exporting a selection of pages to PDF has
pagerange wrong because of blank pages" and 7 or "Bug 42099 - PRINTING: Page
Count and Blank Pages"?

@reporter:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing.
May be hints on will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem? If you
believe that that is really sophisticated please as for Help on a user mailing
list
Please:
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) and the print result (may
be PDF export shows the same problem? Or you can use a PDF printer?)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
mouse click how to reproduce your problem (due to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
-- what EXACTLY is unexpected; please contribute exact observation, including
shown page number in status bar, ...
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
  -- concerning your PC
  -- concerning your OS (Language)
-- concerning your LibO localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Even if you can not provide all demanded information, every little new
information might bring the breakthrough.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47995] font features disabled when using OpenType font -- even when same font in TrueType format works

Some web searches show a lot of remarks to the effect that
LibreOffice/OpenOffice do not support OpenType features. I suspect these refer
to just this bug.

Also see for example
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31821
Bug 31821 - Writer ignores OpenType ligatures.

To be honest: I have no idea what problem you are talking about.

I limit this report to the page number problem.

@Emanuele Forner:
For "Besides, I had another problem" please submit a new report. Before you do
please read hints on !

@sasha:
It seems you understood the problem, can you please explain
- what EXACTLY is unexpected
- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected
- and what steps exactly are required to reproduce the problem
