[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46510] Turn on Quickstarter by silent install

2012-04-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46510

--- Comment #2 from Timur 2012-04-04 00:37:33 PDT ---
This is very important for deployment, because LO is slow without this.
When Quickstart is turned on, shortcut is created that depends on user:
"%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu\Programs\Startup\LibreOffice 3.5.lnk".

I think it would be more logical and easier to turn on Quickstarter for all
users by silent install. If it's shortcut, it should be then
"%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\LibreOffice 3.5.lnk". This works
both for XP and 7.

Normally an object can be selected by a click-and-drag outline enclosing the
object. However for objects with rectangular (different length and width)
outline, when they are rotated, a selection can't be made by drawing an outline
around the shape.
Steps to re-create the problem.
 1) Create a new LO-Draw document.
 2) Draw a rectangle (length and width different)
 3) Rotate the object by 90 degrees (either direction)
 4) Attempt to select the object by drawing an outline
just outside the shape!

Just as a hint:
I have installed LibreOffice 3.4.x and 3.5.x in parallel on a single machine
running MacOS X 10.6.8, but there are NO such problems with the math formula
editor. This does not, of course, mean that I have any doubt about the
existence of this bad bug; it just means that the problems with the math
formula editor do not occur *always* when upgrading from 3.4.x to 3.5.x, at
least not on MacOS X and at least not when installing both applications
parallel ...

I have XLS file which looks ok in LO, but when I open that file in Excel
borders are dotted, not regular.

In attachment you can find example file.

Comment not connected to this bug:
LO has A LOT of problems with XLS/XLSX compatibility. One of worst bug I
encountered was FORMULA changing after file save without any reasons. For this
alone it's still an alpha/beta software when it comes to xls files.

The bug as originally described doesn't happen now
I have updated my openSuse 12.1 and used the LO
as per attachment. So I guess you can close this one.

However ...

The other attachment is what happens now after you
end a presentation with hardware acceleration ON

With it off everything seems fine. ( other than
bug 34531 still exists - which I don't know if
it's related )

best wishes

Not really sure I understand what you tried: how is that an upgrade if you
installed them in parallel? Upgrade is new one over old one, not new and old
side by side... (note sure if it does make a difference for this bug, though)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46071] EDITING: Math formula editor frezees after upgrading to 3.5 - PLEASE HELP

2012-04-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46071

--- Comment #22 from Roman Eisele 2012-04-04 03:06:13 PDT ---
(In reply to comment #21)
> Not really sure I understand what you tried: how is that an upgrade if you

> side by side... (note sure if it does make a difference for this bug, though)

Well, it's an issue of naming. I know some people who call installing a newer
version of an application, but keeping the old one just for security reasons
for a while, an upgrade, and there are other people who don't call this an
upgrade. But "what's in a name?"

I just wanted to help, and because I assumed that this bug probably would not
only show if you 'upgrade' to 3.5.x in the strict sense of the word but also if
you install 3.5.x side-by-side with 3.4.x I just checked if I could reproduce
the bug with my double installation. There was a good chance that this worked,
because, as http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel points
out, if you install a new version of LibreOffice along an existing one on MacOS
X, "The new installation will share your existing LibreOffice user
configuration and profile" -- similar to an upgrade which should to re-use the
user configuration and profile from the old version.

But I could not reproduce the bug, and this gives us three possibilites:

1) the bug is OS-dependend and does not occur in LibreOffice for MacOS X, OR
2) the bug does only appear if you upgrade from 3.4.x to 3.5.x in the strict
sense of the word, deleting any older version, OR
3) the bug does not appear in all cases, depending on some circumstances
different from OS or the upgrade/parallel installation issue mentioned above.

To reveal which one of these possibilities is true needs further study. But if
this all does not make any sense to you, just ignore it ;-) I just wanted to
help a little bit, and if it doesn't help, it should (at least) not hurt you.

Oh, ok, I wasn't aware of the shared configuration mentioned in
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel, it does make sense
to me now. Also I suppose you used version 3.4.6 and 3.5.1, maybe this matters
too?

Update on this...

openSuse 12.1
LO 3.5.2 from Unstable
Nvidia

This still happens

I have found a simpler way to reproduce it now

Start LO Impress
Open or create a presentation
Set to go onto screen 2 ( smartboard )
F5

Pick up pen and write on smartboard - Ink layer opens OK
put down pen
Close inklayer
Repeat as much as you want - Use different colours or eraser
All works fine

Now close inklayer
Tap smartboard with finger to advance to next slide
Ink layer never works again

Reboot and repeat etc

regards

Mal

While copying merged cells, it will be better if the target cells merged
automatically. The default behavior is copy everything in the merged cells into
a single cell. This is a show-stoper for some of my clients that used this

This is a feature request.

Copying rows for the purpose of inserting them somewhere else (rowwise) is
difficult. The default behavior is to insert blank rows (as much as needed)
first.

A menu item (and the code behind of course :) like "Paste as Insert" will do
the job if it will open as much blank rows as needed an then copy the rows into
them automagically...

If one has a table with some cells or rows that have a background color applied

cases, one would like the cell formatting to follow the cells when they are

Thanks for bugreport
Sorry for I can not reproduce this problem in 3.5.1 on Windows XP and 3.5.0 on
Windows 7. It works even if delete extension of mp3 file.
Works even embedding of media file into presentation.
May be I do something wrong. Please, verify on another computer this problem.
And if exist, explain how to reproduce it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48294] New: Impress EDITING: impossible break link to media file using File->Links

2012-04-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48294

 Bug #: 48294
Summary: Impress EDITING: impossible break link to media file
using File->Links
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.1 Release
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: sasha.libreoff...@gmail.com

Steps to reproduce:
0. Start Impress
1. Insert->Movie and sound, select any video or sound file, leave "Link"
checked
2. See on Edit->Links
Expected: it works and I can break link to media file so file becomes embedded
Actually: it greyed out

reproduced in 3.5.1 on Fedora 64 bit and Windows XP 32 bit

PS: functionality of embedding media added in 3.5 version. Before this was not
possible. My thanks to developers for this useful thing.
So, it is just unfinished feature.

Described in step 2 functionality is important, because during creating and
editing presentation is not sense to embed media files: it will greatly slow
down saving and loading of presentation. But after editing is finished, it is
very handy to embed all into one file. Then presentation can be copied and
distributed as one file and nothing will be lost.

hi soshial,
thanks for the screen shots.
 - reg. *33: that is obviously a result of the line borders being different.
Would you like to test in a recent version (I know some work has been done on
this).
 - reg. the left page margin: that is a special issue. Can you reproduce that
always with that document, that you save it with the correct margin and then
after opening that the margin is wrong again? Woudl be useful to have an issue
for that.
(I do see it occasionally with old document, but cannot reliably reproduce it.)

--- Comment #3 from Astron 2012-04-04 06:55:47 PDT ---
So, I did a bit of testing and noticed that this happened even when choosing
"All pages" (which is a print range, but not one where the user actually says,
"I want this page!").

So, I think that it should be changed, as Sushi described – otherwise the
feature is just broken.

But, going a bit further, if the user specifically lists the empty page, we
should print it anyway. For instance (with page 2 being the empty one, as in
the test case):
* 1-3 – don't print the empty page
* 1,2,3 – print the empty page
* 1-2 – print the empty page
* 2-3 – print the empty page

Rationale: If the user specifies a print range that includes a more or less
empty page, my assumption would be that they might have set the range to
specifically print the empty pages.

Does that help/compute?

I created a color palette based on Pantone colors to use in Draw, and was able

I expected to use the same colors in Writer, but for some inexplicable reason
there is no option to load a palette in Writer like there is in Draw.

This is incredibly asinine.

this is a regression from using the new RTF export filter in OOo/LO 3.4.

hopefully the README's are past the tipping point here, where they simply
improve with time.

Did we manage to get your scripts sorted out, committed somewhere, and run
regularly on an official server ? :-)

Auto-detection is doomed to fail in many situations, consider the
following data:

This is one field; but it continues here, and here, as the field separator is a
TAB

However, what we can do is to initially preselect the separators comma,
tab and semicolon, and not space.
