[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48431] New: All positive currency cells go blank

2012-04-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48431

 Bug #: 48431
Summary: All positive currency cells go blank
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: octahedro...@gmail.com

Created attachment 59635
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=59635
Focus the cell and a number on the bar. I have more screenshots if you want.

I have experienced LibreOffice on Ubuntu and OpenOffice.org on Windows for
some time.
I have to work on the same documents and there was no problem in use.

But today, I removed OpenOffice.org from Windows and replaced with the latest
LibreOffice.
I opened many documents for testing. It was almost okay like the old one.

The problem appears when I open an ODS (Calc spreadsheet) about daily
accounting.
All cells containing POSITIVE number in CURRENCY format are BLANK!
Any pages, any sheets are blank!
Currency formulae that result in positive number are also blank too.

It shows only negative currency in red. As shown in attachment.
I have checked cell format settings but there is no unusual things.

However, the blankened numbers are still displayed on the top editting bar.
That means the numbers are still there but not to be shown.
This is not good if I cannot see any positive money in accounting sheet.
Please resolve this severe bug.

Secondary issue: why almost text cells are right-aligned by default?
The version on Ubuntu nor OpenOffice.org have never occured such issue.
Thai language is left-to-right writing like English, so this odd should not
have happened.

FYI: My files are in Thai language and my computer is set under Thai locale.

I second this request for enhancement in order to make wide screen
presentations easier to create.

I guess the first step would be indeed to have in Format - Page the choice
between Screen and Wide screen like Sasha proposed it.

I assume that this is an EasyBug. Could you please add it to the EasyBug list?

Here what you can do :
- try to remove (or backup) your LO profile and try again
- try to uninstall completely (LO profile included), clean the Windows registry
with a free tool like ccleaner then install again and try again.
- give your Java version
- do you use LO extension ?

English spellchecker works by default on my computer. I’m also using LO 3.5.2
with Windows 7 64 bits SP1.

Issues with spellcheckers are almost always due to specific installation.
Often a question of rights. Did you install the software as an administrator
(right click)?

Have you asked for help on the support forum?
http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/

This bug cannot be confirmed as long as it works properly for most people.

--- Comment #15 from Valek Filippov f...@gnome.org 2012-04-08 07:20:16 PDT ---
All letters and blue square in the NW corner are made with PolyPolygon WMF
records.

Missed letters and square (I only looked for BFAV and Bayerischer
Facharztv) seem to have one common difference from displayed letters:
PolyPolygon has no more than 11 points per polygon.
All those polygons seem to be closed paths (last point is the same as the first
one). Letter B in BFAV is not visible because it's white on white. You can
change BG colour under picture to verify it.

First missed records are 21,27,39,51,55,69,76,78 and 80.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48436] New: Data Label Placement needs absolute coordinates

2012-04-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48436

 Bug #: 48436
Summary: Data Label Placement needs absolute coordinates
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Chart
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: jonnjo...@fastmail.fm

When enabling data labels on a chart, the labels may overlap into the chart
image area, making the labels difficult to read. It's particularly problematic
when making a pie chart with a 3D Realistic Look, and using percents as labels.

It would be better for the data labels to be freely placed, like text boxes
with position and size x and y coordinates, instead. Really all elements should
be freely customizable like text boxes, in terms of placement, size, and
content. It may interfere and cause problems otherwise. The individual elements
can still be moved as a group when moving a chart.

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release

Start with a document, the user was a newbie he know in general Ctrl+F will
call the search bar and he did.

After the search, he think the panel use too much space on screen and cannot
find a visible close button(in graphical aspect) so he dragged the panel up and
find it and click. Then crash.

I tried this out.
And also found if run with --sync then crash won't happen.

The program 'soffice' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 7984 error_code 8 request_code 42 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48438] New: [Compatibility] Ms Powerpoint 97/2000/XP/2003 (.ppt) 3D Chart Import from .ods black background problem

2012-04-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48438

 Bug #: 48438
Summary: [Compatibility] Ms Powerpoint 97/2000/XP/2003 (.ppt)
3D Chart Import from .ods black background problem
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: jonnjo...@fastmail.fm

The problem occurs after copying and pasting a chart from a .ods document into
a presentation, and then saving the presentation as a Ms Powerpoint
97/2000/XP/2003 (.ppt). When reopening the .ppt, 3D charts show up with a
unalterable black background in the graphical areas. This was seen in pie
charts with a 3D Realistic Look and in 3D bar graphs. 2D charts seem to be
unaffected.

Obviously, this is only an issue when forced to use Ms formats, which is sadly
too often the case.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48439] New: EDITING: Row Height Change Automatically

2012-04-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48439

 Bug #: 48439
Summary: EDITING: Row Height Change Automatically
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: rian020...@gmail.com

Problem description:

it changes the row height automatically by 0.01 or 0.02 when we are editing a
certain cell.

this has been already since the previous version of Calc. And this occurs when
the file opened comes from MsOffice Excel.

Steps to reproduce:
1. I created a file made by Msoffice excel 2010. it just contains some numbers.
2. Save the file (i have save it as *.xls and open it to Calc
3. After opening the file in Calc.. Check the Row Height of the cells that
contains data.
4. Edit with anything the selected cell.
5. Click or move to the other cell.
6. Check again the Row Height of the edited cell. (sometimes it changes the
height as observed.)

Current behavior:
After editing the cell and clicking to other cell, the edited cell's row height
will increase to 0.01 or 0.02.. i dont know if this is automatic by nature in
LibreOffice, but in excel it doesnt change unless font size is changed.

Expected behavior:
the row height should not change at all unless font size is changed.

Platform (if different from the browser):
Windows 7 32 bit

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/535.19 (KHTML, like Gecko)

--- Comment #1 from Rainer Bielefeld libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de
2012-04-08 09:44:17 PDT ---
This is not a valid bug report.

I can confirm problems with LibreOffice 3.5.2.2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID:
281b639-6baa1d3-ef66a77-d866f25-f36d45f] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit).
Opening the document and allowing Macros I get lots of Basic error messages
Syntax Error. Unexpected Symbol ... what I can confirm one by one clicking
OK, but finally LibO will crash. Same with 3.4.5, .3.3.,
Some 3.5 WIN XP 32 (VirtualBox) and 3.4.4 Ubuntu (VirtualBox)

I limit this bug to the crash problem.

@reporter:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing. If
you want to reopen additional bugs concerning the syntax error please
contribute useful information. All th Bugs here are concerning problems ;-)
May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem? If you
believe that that is really sophisticated please as for Help on a user mailing
list
Please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
sample document in an other Bug with a link.
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
mouse click how to reproduce your problem (due to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
  -- concerning your PC
-- concerning your OS (Version (with Build ID if it's not a public release),
 Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language, Locale
setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
–- If you can contribute an OOo Issue that might be useful
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Even if you can not provide all demanded information, every little new
information might bring the breakthrough.

May be you can test https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ for submitting
bug reports?

looks like it, had a quick look, can reproduce it ( linux ), hmm presumably
this only happens on 3.6/master. There is a null pointer access ( that's easy
to fix ) harder is to find out what changed and why this happens now :-). I've
a couple of days fto, will get back to this when I return

weird windows specific bug, perhaps mmeeks' headless refactoring broke it,
probably only Noel knows this obscure basic stuff...
 reporter claims it's a regression.
well not really basic related but more to do with ole support :-) I will see if
I can reproduce this, ideally the version where it changed would be good,
ultimately I suspect that having a side by side comparison of
working/non-working might be the only way for a poor windows incapable soul
such as myself might figure out what is happening. It's also possible the
previous behaviour is just wrong and somehow got unintentionally fixed ( I
really don't know ) I suppose we'll find out when we get to the bottom of it.
I'll take this bug for now ( but have a couple of days fto so will look at it
when I get back )

Exalon Delft logo

Our company logo has been for a long time as in the attached drawing (odg).

In pre-3.5 if has always shown as in the ExalonDelftLogo 3.4.4.pdf.

Starting from 3.5 the original element that have been used to create the logo
are displaced as shown in ExalonDelftLogo 3.5.pdf.

The same problems happen in 3.5.1.

Also, the problems happen in our Writer templates where we have this odg
embedded (as an object).

Strange - are we the only ones suffering from this?

Files saved from Calc 3.5 with a password fail to open with version 3.4 or
earlier. This was tested on Ubuntu and Windows. The error message is:

Read-Error.
Format error discovered in the file sub-document content.xml at 1.0(row,col).

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Calc in a system with 3.5 installed (e.g. Ubuntu Precise)
2. Enter any content
3. Save with a password
4. Transfer file to system with 3.4 installed (e.g. Ubuntu Oneiric)
5. Attempt to open file

This can be a problem when exchanging secure data between sites which have
upgraded and sites which have not.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47078] Empty page with cell borders gets printed out when Suppress output of empty pages is enabled

2012-04-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #6 from Sushi ahirosh...@ashisuto.co.jp 2012-04-08 18:37:53 PDT

 Astron
Thank you for getting back to me.

The point of this ISSUE is that only when the borders are set, the option
does not work as expected.

As you can see in the sample doc, the Empty page is not suppressed from
printing disregard the print range settings. (Delete the defined print range
and the 2nd page would still be printed)

Remove all the borders from 2nd page of sample doc, it is suppressed from
printing disregard the print range. And fill background of 2nd page, it is
still suppressed from printing.

Therefore, the feature works partially and is NOT Completely Broken but
does not work as it should only for the borders.

I am fine with Print empty pages anyway if it is manually specified to
do so but in that case, I think what is written on the Help page needs
to be changed to suit the actual behavior.

Insert Picture from a file is common task on word processor. Especially if you
need to deal with a lot of pictures (e.g. software manual with screenshots).

So it would be nice if Writer has a keyboard shortcut for insert picture
command (equivalent to Insert Picture From File)

I think Ctrl+Shift+P (for Picture) is still available.
