[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42473] FILEASSOC During execution of group policy Libreoffice associates with Word files
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42473 --- Comment #13 from Michael Pappas painful...@gmail.com 2012-04-24 00:08:39 PDT --- (In reply to comment #12) (In reply to comment #10) Can someone please report whether this persists with the released 3.5.2? I have tested it yesterday at 4 PC´s. One of them failed again and lost all file associations like .doc .odt .xls and so on. The other ones worked fine. Please clarify whether your issue is the one described in this thread, that is installation via group policy or via /qn, associates LibO with .doc, regardless of user settings. Please report whether you've tested this in the following manner and if not, please re-test using the procedure below: find a system where openoffice/libreoffice is not installed and make sure that .doc files are opened by Windows wordpad. Then do the following: 1) Download the Libreoffice installation (.msi) file to your desktop 2) Start-Programs-Accessories-Command prompt 3) In the box that will open, make a cd to the desktop directory. Then enter: msiexec /i nameoflibreoffice.msi REGISTER_NO_MSO_TYPES=1 /qn Nothing will be displayed, but you can tell when installation is finished when a Libreoffice icon will appear on screen. Then double click a .doc file. Does it open with Libreoffice or with Wordpad? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

See: https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=48278 I believe the bug is related to using an xorg screen dpi the 96 dpi default, because I experienced the same behavior in older versions of OpenOffice when using dpi 96. I was happy when that bug finally got fixed, but now it's back again. I don't think anybody does any QA testing on higher than average res monitors (set up properly to actually use their higher dpi) before releases. It's very difficult to do compared to MS word. I figured it out to a point but then gave up. MSWord is just so much easier on this point and because I'm a university student I use referencing for everything. IEEE referencing is the most useful I've found to date. See : http://mikemurko.com/general/ieee-referencing-for-word-2007-2010/ Also as a side note. The MS ribbon would be a good idea to bring users across from MS office. Yes I know it's a tad on the user hostile side but I'm sure more businesses would take on open source things if they had all the standard features of what the industry standard is. cheers, Ray -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49102] New: Writer: Incorrect numbering when cells are merged in the table
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49102 Bug #: 49102 Summary: Writer: Incorrect numbering when cells are merged in the table Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: medium Component: Writer AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: b...@mailinator.com Created attachment 60516 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=60516 Numbering is incorrect when merged cells in a table LibreOffice 3.5.2 and 3.5.3rc1. Numbering in a table with merged cells is not correct. Instead 1, 2, 3... we have 1, 3, 5 in case, when there are two rows near merged cells. Numbering depends of number of rows involved (more rows=bigger number). Also LO changes the proper numbering soon after opening the file in Word format. For example I attached doc file with correct numbering and it is changed to incorrect by LO. Interestingly after saving it back and opening in Word the numbering is correct. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create table. 2. Merge two cells in first column. 3. Repeat few times. 4. Paste numbering in first column. 5. Autonumber depends of rows count near merged cells. Expected result: Numbering should not depend on rows count near merged cells. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
