I confirm the immediate crash in version 3.6.0.0.beta2 (Build ID: f010139).
Deleting folder LOdev in the profile has no effect, crash still happens.
I don't know if for beta 2 is a new and different bug...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51278] New: LibreOffice BASE 3.6 can't open or create reports

2012-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51278

 Bug #: 51278
Summary: LibreOffice BASE 3.6 can't open or create reports
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.0.0.beta2
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: blocker
  Priority: medium
 Component: Database
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: aironm...@gmail.com

For me, using 3.6 beta1 and beta2, it's just impossible to open reports in Base
that were generated with LO 3.5.X.

I can't either create new reports. If I double click on the reports wizard I
get an error message saying that no valid templates are found. OK, that's an
error that I had sometime ago that seems to happen to some people (looking in
Google), but what is new to me is that if I double click on the option to
create reports on design mode (which always worked before), this time it does
nothing. Yes, I double click on it and nothing happens.

On a previosly created .odb file (with 3.5.X), if I try to open a report, I get
an error saying something like: The document XX can't be opened (it's a
translation that I've done from the spanish message I get, it might not be
exactly the same message on the pure english version). On this file, if I then
try to create new reports I get the same result than in the previous paragraph.

This is critical, as Base becomes unusable on 3.6.

So? If the LO BASIC machinery stores in one part of UserInstallation
(user/registrymodificiations.xcu) information about data it stores in another
part (user/basic/), manually modifying only one place will likely get the
machinery confused. (I did not bother to check whether the machinery really
works this way, but it looks highly likely. And in any event, manually
modifying the UserInstallation is not supported.)

Hey, and me being so naive to expect that a new registrymodifications.xcu
respects data that is in the tree :-)

But - what the * - so I lose all my carefully defined custom colors too.. And
what more? Ugh. Have to check and really need to add a warning to our FAQ about
solving particular problems by dumping the registrymodifications.xcu.

Thanks for bugreport
Reproduced in 3.3.4, 3.5.4 and 3.6 beta 1 on Fedora 64 bit
IMHO in 3.2.1 it was also reproducible.

Text size can be easily reduced automatically, but it is impossible to enlarge
it.

From fact that document created in OOO correctly opens in LO I guess that
problem is in UI. Or there was something like Enlarge font to fit to frame or
current option Fit to frame was working in both directions (shrink/enlarge).

@ merkurspo...@yahoo.com
Please, attach odp document from OOo with working stretching of frame (if
possible) for testing.

I am able to reproduce it. If you look into the autotext using
Edit/Autotext... or by pressing [Ctrl-F3] you see four autotext libraries:

   crdbus50
   crdbus54
   standard
   template

but the are empty.

The related files are installed in /opt/libreoffice3.5/share/autotext/cs/*.bau
The *.bau files are zip archives. You could unzip them to see the content.

I compared the content with the working en/standard.bau. The main difference
seems to be in META-INF/manifest.xml. It is almost empty in the cs version.
It includes many entries in the en version.

So, the solution is to create correct manifest files in the cs/*.bau files.

Stefan, Michael, just by chance, do you know about any helper tool to create
the .bau files? Or do we need to create the manifest files by hand?

Anyway, this is very nice easy hack, so marking it this way.

The last .bau files can be found at
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/extras/source/autotext/lang/cs

The manual solution is to unzip them, update the META-INF/manifest.xml files
and zip them again.

You could take inspiration in the .bau files for other localizations.

You could try the result if you copy them to the installed system, restart LO
and try try to edit or use the autotext.

+1 to Olaf's comment 1.

Note that views vary wildly on this issue -- I asked a couple people (friends,
family) on their preference (which is something I occasionally do when stuff
annoys me), and not all share my idea of a clean desktop.

However, there is some inherent nastiness in polluting the default user's
desktop, as only the admin can remove the icon, other users can't.

REPRODUCIBLE with
* LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 (Build-ID: 165a79a-7059095-e13bb37-fef39a4-9503d18)
* LibreOffice/LOdev 3.6.0beta1 (Build ID: 1f1cdd8)
both with German langpack installed, both on MacOS X 10.6.8 German UI (Intel).

Taking the original description together with comment #3 and comment #5, I can
confirm that if I create a simple presentation with 4 slides (I will attach my
sample file), sorting slides via drag and drop both
-- in the left panel labelled Slides
   or
-- in the slide sorter
does not work correctly.

The circumstances are exactly the same in both cases:
-- if I try to move the *1st* slide to any other position,
   most times nothing happens;
-- if I try to move *any* *other* slide to another position,
   either nothing happens
or the moved slide is inserted before all other slides
(becomes slide #1), regardless where I have dragged the slide to.
I say most times, because the behaviour seems not to be 100% deterministic
(there must be some variable I don't understand).

And sometimes (cf. comment #2), if I try to drag around slides for a while,
-- LibreOffice crashes (I will attach the log file);
   this crash seems to happen a bit more often with beta 1 than with 3.5.4;
but the crash log indicates always exactly the same type of crash:
the 1st line of the trace for thread 0 is always

Well, obviously noone else uses clang on FreeBSD... It would help if you posted
that part of the build log where the error message is, though.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51289] New: UI: Add an easy way to add image as chart background

2012-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51289

 Bug #: 51289
Summary: UI: Add an easy way to add image as chart background
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Chart
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: tobbi.b...@googlemail.com

Problem description:

Currently, It's a PITA to add a background image to a chart. IIRC,it would be
awesome to add a UI option to add your own background image to a chart.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new spreadsheet with some data. Create a diagram.
2. Right-click on the diagram, select ''Format wall''.
3. Click the Area tab, select ''Picture''.
4. Find that you have no easy way to add your own image (''Browse'' button to
add your own image / file path).

Current behavior:
No browse button to insert your own background image by file path.
Expected behavior:
Add browse button to add your own background image as a diagram background.

Platform (if different from the browser):
(all)

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/536.5 (KHTML, like Gecko)
Chrome/19.0.1084.56 Safari/536.5

Could you attach any example documents to allow others to check on different
system/build?

Please elaborate - which LibreOffice versions and operating systems are
involved.
This will help to reproduce your problems.

(In reply to comment #0)
It happens so often that I have had to resort to saving
everything as pdf, which renders the document unusable for further editing.

Did you try to use Export as PDF with embedded OpenDocument file?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51296] New: UI: Calc doesn't take care of security setting Ctrl-click required to follow hyperlinks

2012-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51296

 Bug #: 51296
Summary: UI: Calc doesn't take care of security setting
Ctrl-click required to follow hyperlinks
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: bz-freedesk...@florian-schmitt.net

Currently, there's a setting in Options - LibreOffice - Security - Options:
Ctrl-click required to follow hyperlinks.

Expected behaviour:
Since this is part of the gereral preferences, one might expect that this
setting affects all LibreOffice components, including Calc.

Current behaviour:
This option seems to affect the handling of hyperlinks only in Writer.
Hyperlinks in Calc and in Impress can bee activated by a single click even with
this option set.

Enhancement requests:
1. I would prefer if the handling of hyperlinks would be identical in every
LibreOffice component, so i would propose to make Calc (and Impress) recognize
that setting, too.
2. At least, the label of that option (or, at least, the documentation) should
state that the setting affects only the Writer component.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open Draw and create an arrow
2) In Line properties, select an unfilled arrow style, eg Diamond unfilled.
3) Save the file and re-open it

Notice how the arrow edges are distorted. Also, if you go to properties, the
line styles now display -none-. This does not happen with filled styles.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50371] CONFIGURATION: JRE 7.x incompatibility not resolved

2012-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50371

--- Comment #6 from aironm...@gmail.com 2012-06-21 07:02:37 PDT ---
My experience here:

I have two machines, one with XP 32 bits and the other with Windows 7 64 bits.

On XP 32 bits there's no problem.

On Windows 7 64 bits what happens is the following:

As should be normal, I have the 64 bits release from the java 7 JRE.
LibreOffice should work with this as I'm on a 64 bits machine. But it does not.
It finds the JRE, I can select it, but when I restart it says that it will not
work.
I noticed that LibreOffice installs on C:\Program Files (x86) instead of just
C:\Program Files. That made me to suspect that it could have someproblem with
the 64 bits JRE.
After that, I installed in addition the 32 bits release of the java 7 JRE and
restarted LibreOffice. Then I had to versions of the java 7 JRE, one with 32
bits (installed on C:\Program Files (x86)) and another for 64 bits (on
C:\Program Files ). From LibreOffice I selected to use the JRE installed on
C:\Program Files (x86) (32 bits) and restarted LibreOffice.
Java 7 worked fine since that.

So what I see is that in a Windows 64 bits machine, LibreOffice doesn't work
with 64 bits JRE, just with 32 bits. Strange...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51023] EDITING: Drag and drop Slide sorting broken on Mac OS X

2012-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51023

--- Comment #10 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-06-21 07:03:47 PDT ---
A more complete review with LibreOffice 3.5.4.2.

Given four slides numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, what allows 4 x 3 = 12 primary drag
actions, I get the following results when dragging slides in the Slide Sorter
view and/or in the Slides section of the main window (the results are
identical):

1a) Dragging the 1st slide between slide 2 and 3: nothing happens
(still 1, 2, 3, 4)
1b) Dragging the 1st slide between slide 3 and 4: nothing happens
(still 1, 2, 3, 4)
1d) Dragging the 1st slide after the last slide: works
(result: 2, 3, 4, 1)
2a) Dragging the 2nd slide before the 1st slide: works
(result 2, 1, 3, 4)
2b) Dragging the 2nd slide between slide 3 and 4: 2 is inserted before 1
(result 2, 1, 3, 4)
2c) Dragging the 2nd slide after the last slide: works
(result 1, 3, 4, 2)
3a) Dragging the 3rd slide before the 1st slide: works
(result 3, 1, 2, 4)
3b) Dragging the 3rd slide between slide 1 and 2: 3 is inserted before 1
(result 3, 1, 2, 4)
3c) Dragging the 3rd slide after the last slide: works
(result 1, 2, 4, 3)
4a) Dragging the last slide before the 1st one: works
(result 4, 1, 2, 3)
4b) Dragging the last slide between slide 1 and 2: 4 is inserted before 1
(result 4, 1, 2, 3)
4c) Dragging the last slide between slide 2 and 3: 4 is inserted before 1
(result 4, 1, 2, 3)

Analysis:
A) moving a slide via drag and drop before the 1st slide or after the last
slide works
B) moving a slide via drag and drop to any other position does NOT work, but
inserts the moved slide before the 1st slide. In the special case when the
moved slide is already the 1st slide itself, this means that nothing happens at
all.

Just take a look at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVMny2nPLOg

LibreOffice crashes reliably when clicking the tabs above the Editing-Area.
When other Modules of LibreOffice are running at the same time, they crash too.

Makes working impossible, when you need the Functions behind those Tabs.

I already tried removing everything from ~/.config/libreoffice - it didn't help
at all.

Ahh, I read too quickly and didn't see the period in the middle of your comment
so I read it as blank in Word as expected.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51023] EDITING: Drag and drop Slide sorting broken on Mac OS X

2012-06-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Created attachment 63300
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=63300
Corrupted sample file, corrupted via a simple sequence of drag-and-drop actions

But the analysis given in my previous comment holds true only when I do single
drag-and-drop actions, i.e. open my sample document (attachment 63289) before
each step again and try only one step at once.

If I do several drag-and-drop actions one after another, I observe
a) crashes and
b) data corruption.

I have not found yet a simple way to reproduce the crash with 100% reliability,
but here is a simple sequence of drag-and-drop actions which leads to data
corruption:
1) Open my sample file (attachment 63289) with LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 or 3.6beta 1
and switch to the Slide Sorter.
The order of the slides is first 1, 2, 3, 4.
2) Drag slide 2 after slide 3.
The order of the slides is now 2, 1, 3, 4 (wrong!).
3) Drag slide 1 (the 2nd one) after slide 3 (the third one).
The order of the slides is again 1, 2, 3, 4 (wrong!)
4) Drag slide 2 after slide 3.
The order of the slides is now 2, 2, 3, 4: corruption!
Now we have two slides which look identical at the beginning of the slide show.
The old slide 1 is gone.

And this is a serious and stable corruption, not only a drawing error: the
double slide 2 is still present when I save, close and open the document
again, and the old slide 1 is still missing.

Attached you find such a corrupted file which is the result of applying the
given four steps to my sample file.

The zip contains two zips which contain the ods and odt between which I was
copying.

I have finally managed to do it, but only after additional Ctrl + S. I think
that Ctrl + S cleans some buffers and the problem goes away.

This is an attachment of bug 46487, which is in RESOLVED WORKSFORME state.
Does this mean, that your problem was not resolved, as stated in

It is a *different* problem.

Original problem in bug 46487 is No images are showing up, but this bug is
about some unreadable text at the top of slide. Please see screenshot
comparing LibO and PowerPoint. Thanks again.

Some more hints and observations:

(a) There are some bug reports which could be related to this issue, especially
for Linux, but I can't find any exact duplicates for now:
* bug 49543 just says that sorting slides via drag-and-drop does not work at
all
* bug 46801 is the same (drag-and-drop does not work at all)
* bug 48101 speaks about drag drop of slides from another document
* bug 42289 seems to speak about how many slides are visible in the slide
sorter
  (if I understand it correctly).

(b) Updated summary according to previous comments.

(c) This bug is NOT REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.4.6 (OOO340m1, Build:602),
German langpack installed, on MacOS X 10.6.8 German (Intel).

- The bug is new in 3.5.x, therefore added keyword regression.

(d) This bug is NOT REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.4.6, German langpack
installed, on WinXP, therefore it seems to be a MacOS X only issue for now.
(But someone else should still test Linux).

Yes, every time. When I start working with data and make charts in ods and then
try to copy the chart to odt the pasted chart is just a straight line and not
the actual chart. My workaround is to press save in ods and then copy-paste
again. This workaround works most of the time but several times I needed to
restart the computer because restarting the program did not work.
