Ah yes, I had missed that; I was so focused on the CatalogName and SchemaName
NULL vs empty string.

Fair enough; LibO should not call it with empty string for TableName, and this
should be fixed.

Yes, the segfault, with the explanation about SQL_SUCCESS/SQL_ERROR should be
reported upstream. Could you do that (and CC me)? Thanks.

More or less [Reproducible] with reporter's sample and Server Installation of
"LibreOffice 3.6.0.0.beta3 German UI/Locale [Build-ID: 3e2b862] on German WIN7
Home Premium (64bit):

Cells A3:C3 and A7:C7 contain links to contents in an other document, in C7
(linking to contents in a sheet with name "sheet 4"(?)) only a "=" instead of a
complete link is visible. I will have to check how it looks with Excel.

Same with LibO 3.3.3, AOOo 3.4 and OOo 3.2.1RC1, seems inherited from OOo

Effect is reproducible with Server Installation of "LibreOffice 3.6.0.0.beta3
German UI/Locale [Build-ID: 3e2b862] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit), but
the question is what that might mean. Damaged document?

@Reporter: What's the history of that document, is it imported from an other
format / software or created from the scratch with LibO?

Unless this text string is translated in the pt_BR localization package but do
not appear translated, or text string not marked for translation at all, it
shouldn't be considered as a bug.

pt_BR i18n team would take care of the UI translation update.

Feel free to reopen if you disagree.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51923] The "Target in document" window presents a list of headings that is extremely difficult to use

--- Comment #2 from narayana...@hotmail.com 2012-07-10 03:10:32 PDT ---
Clarification:

I have used the term "explode" to mean "expand all nodes of a tree at once".

The tree in NAV cannot be exploded: It expands only one node at a time.

On the other hand, the TID list is flat.
In a large document, this list is excessively long.
* Since it is not sorted alphabetically, spotting the desired node is
difficult.
* We cannot collapse the unwanted chapters out of the way.
* Viewing a huge list through a tiny TID window makes it claustrophobic
blinkered experience.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50849] SIGSEGV: ODBC to PostgreSQL, renaming column in SELECT list

2012-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50849

--- Comment #10 from Terrence Enger 2012-07-10
01:38:07 PDT ---
My references to the ODBC driver are to psqlodbc-09.01.0100.

It is the ODBC driver which dereferences the null pointer, and the ODBC
driver may be the underlying cause. Still, I suggest that between the
cause and the dereference, LibreOffice has at least helped the ODBC
driver to fail by executing a "funny" call.

In the segfaulting case, ODatabaseMetDataResultSet::openSpecialColumns,
ODatabaseMetaDataResultSet.cxx:1139, calls SQLSpecialColumns with null
string and zero for parameters 7 and 8, TableName and TableNameSize.
For comparison, in the working case, LibreOffice passes a good table
name (and good catalog name and schema name, too).

does not mention the possibility of the table name being the null
string. I cannot imagine how one could expect a good result from the
null string.

Does this suggest that it would be good to look into why LO is doing the
call with null table name? Or into why LO is doing this extra call at
all?

A funny thing happened on the way to the crash: In PGAPI_SpecialColumns,
info.c line 2783 detects the null table name, so line 2785 does
SC_set_error and then line 2786 returns SQL_SUCCESS. SQL_SUCCESS sounds
to me like an outright lie. If in SQLSPecialColumns I fudge the return
value to SQL_ERROR, then LibreOffice ...

(*) Goes on to call SQLSpecialColumns with good catalog, schema, and
table names. This call looks very much like what I remember from
the successful query.

(*) Goes on to display the table data.

The SQL_SUCCESS sounds to me like a candidate for reporting upstream, as
does the segfault itself. LEM, do you agree?

The problem occurs in different text fields of my form. It never happens when I
press delete in the middle of a string - only when the cursor is positioned at
the end of a string and only when the last char of the string is space.
Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the problem either. Right now LO crashed when
I had just started to work on the second data set. I restarted LO with the
original file and performed the same steps as before the crash - and everything
was just fine ...
I'll inform you when something substantial occurs.

Why is it necessary for LibO to know the content before the mouse button has
been released? Is it not possible for LinO to recognize: There was a picture
inserted, so AutoCaption has to be added?

In that case I would suggest to make it possible that you can select several

Perfect! It could be ProductVersion or SuiteVersion...

It would be interesting to keep the variables MsiProductVersion and
ProductCode. They are useful...

It does make sense. But unfortunately that does not happen for the other file
types. I uninstalled my copy of MS Office 2003 to test it. So I guess it's a
bug (or inconsistency)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51930] New: Word Reversal In Table Cell

2012-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51930

 Bug #: 51930
Summary: Word Reversal In Table Cell
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.4 release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: write2da...@gmail.com

Created attachment 64050
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=64050
File containing the problematic table

In the attached document, there is a problem with one cell of the table. I'd
call this cell A3 (to use spreadsheet terminology). The text in this cell is
"Status Spiritual".

When opening the document, you will find that if you place the cursor between
the "A" and "T" in the word "Status" and then press the spacebar, then the
words "Status Spiritual" will separate into this text: "tus Spiritual Sta".
Very odd.

Then if you press backspace (to remove the space you just created), the text in
the cell will become "Spiritual Status". (which is a reversal of the
original wording)

I also notice that when the text turns into "tus Spiritual Sta" then if you
make the column wider, the text will turn into "Spiritual Sta tus"

>Hi I can not write in English. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Don't worry, mine is not good (I'm french...)

Did you tried what I suggested ? You have to defined the "range" of Rows to
repeat, here $1:$4

If you ask for repeating $4, it's only the fourh line that will be
reproduced
from the 2nd page

In the attached spreadsheet "Format>Print ranges> Edit" is defined to
reproduce on all pages the cells I have coloured (yellow) : lines 1 to 4
and
col. A

I hope it is what you want :)

Highlight text, right click, click on "Text...", add a number to "Spacing to
borders". For instance to move it up 2 inches add a 2" bottom border and it'll
push it up. An example that I did awhile back:

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.4 release
  Platform: All
   URL: https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=62973
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: gerry.trep...@googlemail.com

Currently LibreOffice Impress nicely supports drawing / writing / highlighting
with the mouse cursor as pen in the presentation mode. However, when the
presentation is over, there is no option to save the ink in the .odp file as
drawing.

This is particularly important when giving lectures and students want to get
the drawings during class for download after class.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37551] LO template folder should accept anchor to a remote folder

2012-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37551

--- Comment #3 from Heinz Repp 2012-07-09 20:00:49 UTC ---
Just stumbled over this bug, I think it needs clarification. There is some kind
of misconception around concerning links in Windows. In Unix based systems we
have hard links (every directory entry is one) and soft links (transparent to
applications, as application really see the linked file or folder.

Windows has both kinds of links too, or to be exact, NTFS. But they are little
known, and seldom used (except for Microsoft, who makes heavy use of it).
Hardlinks are only possible within the same file system (as in every other OS)
and only for files, not for directories. In contrast, soft links are only for
directories and can span different file systems. They are known as junctions or
reparse point.

What Windows users usually know are shortcuts, files with the invisible .lnk
extension. Those are neither soft nor hard links but hints for the Explorer
(and only for this program) which directory or file should be opened. They are
not even transparent for the Explorer itself, as shortcuts to directories are
not shown in tree view. Apart from the Explorer, shortcuts are meaningless. And
by the way: file open dialogs are in reality Explorer calls in most programs,
so they can handle shortcuts.

So what do you mean when you say you created an "anchor"? Did you create a
reparse point and it did not work? Or did you just create a shortcut and
wondered, that no program except Explorer handles it?

Correction:
Link behind "LibreOffice bug tracker" should be

or

Same for Link behind "bug report" in last sentence

I am pretty sure that I discussed some of these issues with Marc Paré few days
ago with the result that Marc did some very good suggestions how to improve the
texts, and I thought at least this Bugzilla link would have been modified in
between. I will piing him when he is back.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50132] Provide as-is order for groups in Reports

> You could put the field "Category" in the group-area of "ID". Then you have
> ordered by "ID" and shown only the "Category".

Thanks for the advice. But what to do, if theoretically there is an order,
which can not be expressed by 'ascending' or 'descending' of an existing field?
In that case, an enforced order IMO is a defect.

> And set the Status to "new", because it can only be ordered by the field of
> the
> group.

I would say: ... because post/re-ordering by the report-builder can not be
disabled.

I could see this being a new cell format (like "unit formula") or something
like that. I'm going to mark as Lowest priority because I think realistically
it won't affect many users and it's going to be a bit tough to implement. But,
we'll see what we can do.

Thanks for the suggestion

You can manually edit the text to move it above or below the line. But the
example you showed from Visio does indeed look nice. Making this a lowest
priority enhancement.

I'm raising this to a bug instead of an enhancement. Because the option is in
the general security options, you're absolutely right that all software should
handle the option in the same way.

Marking as a Normal -> High bug. I gave it high priority because it falls in
the "security vulnerability" category. Some might disagree that this level of
priority is necessary or appropriate but for me anything that raises security
concerns deserves to be raised.

Thanks for reporting this

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51923] New: The "Target in document" window presents a list of headings that is extremely difficult to use

2012-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51923

 Bug #: 51923
Summary: The "Target in document" window presents a list of
headings that is extremely difficult to use
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.0.0.beta3
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: narayana...@hotmail.com

Note:
For brevity, I will use NAV=Navigator window and TID=Target in Document window.

Problem:
The list of headings in the TID window are extremely difficult to use.

Firstly, it looks totally different from the headings shown in the NAV:
1. NAV has a hierarchical tree, whereas the TID list is flat.
2. The NAV list is mostly collapsed, but the TID list is always fully exploded.
We cannot explode the NAV list, nor collapse nodes of TID list.
4. The NAV list has no outline numbers; the TID list has outline numbers.

(See the attached file for screenshots).

Secondly, the TID window is very small (narrow and short). As a result, we can
see only a part of the list at a time; and longer entries cannot be seen fully.

Suggestions to make the list more user-friendly:

1. Make this list identical to the Navigator (tree structure). This will make
it very familiar.

2. Remove the outline numbers from the TID list.

3. Make the TID window resizable.

4. Provide a search field in TID window (as the user types the entry he wants,
only matching entries remain in the list, and the rest are hidden).
