[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 52639] EDITING: Creating a new report destroys .odb
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52639 --- Comment #4 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de 2012-07-30 05:49:43 UTC --- I have tested this the following way: 1. Destroy the old User-Profile. 2. Start LO. 3. Create a new database. 4. Don't register - I won't work with this database under writer ore another program. ( - ) You can create a little table, put some content in it. I have tested it with a new table and without; same behaviour as followed. 5. Start the Report-Builder (not the wizard). 6. Close the Report-Builder (nothing to save, you haven't created any report) 7. Close the database and LO (nothing to save ...) 8. Open LO 9. Try to open the database. 9a) In German version appears: Allgemeiner Fehler (General Problem) 9b) Base opened, but could not connect to tables (No Driver-class '' found) There is nothing else to explain with pictures. It's a new profile, a new database. It first appears under 3.6.0.2 (this was the first 3.6-Version I tested). This bug appears every time on my system. My System is OpenSuSE 32bit. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51239] A double-plus-more extremely slow search/browse table in embedded HSQLDB since 3.5.5/3.6.0.beta
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51239 --- Comment #34 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu 2012-07-30 06:35:22 UTC --- (In reply to comment #33) 1) What has already been fixed (see commen 30 and 31)? A performance regression was introduced in 3.5.5 and 3.6.0.alpha. It has been fixed in 3.7.0.alpha, 3.6.0.rc. It is awaiting backport to 3.5.6.beta. 2) What is currently being processed? Backport to 3.5.6.beta 3) What is still to be processed? I don't understand the difference with question 2) 4) Still to be tested for something? AFAIK, only I have confirmed that my fix makes things faster. Independent confirmation is always nice, but not necessarily a priority to assign scarce resources (QA/tester time). Whether I did or did not introduce a new bug is also an interesting question :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

No, please, the version field is first affected version, not latest affected version. If you mislead the developers into thinking that it is newer than it is, you deprive them from an useful way of working, which is look at the changes between latest unaffected version and first affected version to see what could have caused this bug. If you have reproduced it with a newer version, by all means, give us that information, by putting in a comment something like reproduced with LibreOffice VERSION LANGUAGE BUILD-ID on OPERATING_SYSTEM OS_VERSION OS_PLATFORM, replacing the all-caps words by an appropriate value (e.g. Ubuntu Linux or MacOS X for OPERATING_SYSTEM and Intel/AMD 32 bits or AMD/Intel 64 bits for OS_PLATFORM). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 52942] New: EDITING: Report-Builder - Images could only be linked, not embedded in report
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52942 Bug #: 52942 Summary: EDITING: Report-Builder - Images could only be linked, not embedded in report Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Database AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: rob...@familiegrosskopf.de When editing a report you could choose an Image. You can do this with Insert → Pictures → From File The option Link is inactive, almost choosen. So you link the file - image isn't saved in the database. Now have a look to the properties of the file. Second line: Preserve as Link. I set this to No, but the file isn't saved in the *.odb-file. You can change the filename of the picture and don't see any picture. Have a look at the property Graphics. The link is shown. Try the Button with the three point beside it. You could choose another picture and now the option Link is active. I choose, that it should not be linked. It didn't work. First it looks, as images could only be linked, then there seem to be two possibilities to embed the image. There are two ways: put away this possibilities, which don't work - or let us embed images, for example for a header of a letter. The second way would be the better way, because the only possibility to get a picture inside a report without linkin is: Save the image in a table of the database. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

It creates a new style but it's identical to text body, without my modification. I change the new style manually. Later I select another word and I press my new style to apply it and... the entire paragraph changes style! Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a new document, use text body 2. Modify the style of a word in a phrase 3. Select the word and press create style from selection 4. Create manually a new style 5. Select another word and apply the new style. It applies on the whole paragraph Current behavior: - No new style on selection - Apply style on the whole paragraph. There are several places to check and alter to produce, e.g Brochures A5 on A4 paper. Earlier version retained these setting between runs. This is the desired behaviour. The setting are ALSO not retained with a saved document. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a new A5 page sized document 2. Enter the print dialogue and set all the various options needed to print A5 on A4 paper as a brochure. 3. Print. 4. Enter the print dialogue again, note that all the carefully set setting have been replaced by brain-dead defaults. Scream. Current behavior: See above Expected behavior: See above. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51121] : Documents produced by LO 3.5.x and 3.4.x fail to open correctly when sent through Outlook Web Access
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51121 --- Comment #15 from Ronja Addams-Moring ro...@iki.fi 2012-07-30 11:51:36 UTC --- If this message looks like it comes from a Bugzilla n00b, it's because it does. Apologies for any inconvenience! Am I correct (or close enough) if I guess that characterizing this bug properly is a problem, because one cannot have both OpenOffice and LibreOffice installed on the same computer at the same time? Which leads to that one cannot create comparable ODF files with ease (installing, uninstalling and reinstalling Open/LibreOffice will likely grow old pretty fast for most of us...) I have only searched this morning, when this bug hit me personally, and having both OO and LibO is not possible on several of the old/big Linux distros, according to the documentation/wikis/forums which I have thus far checked. Fedora, Debian, CentOS, LinuxMint and Ubuntu all claim you don't need both, they cannot coexist or words to that effect. I have not found any detailed/technical explanation for why the coexistence is impossible, though, at least not yet. a) Is it really true that LibreOffice and OpenOffice *cannot* be installed on the same Linux? Is this also true for Windows (XP in my case)? b) If a) really is true ATM, is there something LibreOffice as a project could do in the near future to make it possible to have both OO and LibO installed on (at least some) Linux(es) and/or maybe Windows XP and 7? c) Failing b), does anyone already have an effective package of scripts to quickly and automatically swap between using LibO and OO (on LinuxMint 13 or Ubuntu 12.04 in my case), to make it easy to test this bug further? I will have access to OWA until 9th September, but likely not after that, so I would like to get cracking with test files ASAP, if more of them are needed. d) What would be a better place to ask questions a) and b)? They touch on so much more than just this bug. This is the first concrete case that I have seen where having both LibO and OO would be useful, or actually more than useful: pretty much necessary. And I am not holding my breath for that Microsoft would fix OWA any time soon, however complete a bug description the open source community manages to come up with. So getting this problem to go away most likely is up to us. Thank you for you time and happy hacking. I have set Tools / Options / Internet / E-Mail / E-mail program to all of the following: sensible-ooomua, sensible-lomua, /usr/bin/mutt and /usr/bin/evolution and there is NO CHANGE. File Send E-Mail as PDF... still gives the same error message for a Base Report, but works OK for a Writer document. (The only thing that does not work for me is /usr/bin/mutt, which gives an error in the terminal because I do not have that program). Please note that this bug is all about the difference between a Base Report and a Writer Document. It is not saying that File Send E-Mail as PDF... does not work per se. At some point, the splash screen disappears and the program exits. Looking at the created profile, I see that the LibreOffive folder contains 4208 files in 1436 folders, most of which are in subfolders of the LibreOffice\3\user\extensions\bundled\registry folder, with names ending in .tmp. In comparison, my previous profile contained 61 files in 66 folders. My guess is that LibreOffice crashed while creating the profile, which is why it did not start after the splash screen closed, and why there are all those temporary files left over in the profile. If I start Writer again, it starts normally. However, the problem appears again if I delete the LibreOffice\3\user\extensions folder. This happened on two different machines running 32-bit, fully patched, Windows XP. Apologies for any inconvenience! newbies are persons wanting to learn, so they are generally treated well in linux communities. Welcome. they cannot coexist or words to that effect. I have not found any detailed/technical explanation for why the coexistence is impossible, though, at least not yet. Mixing the two things would be like mixing hot and cold water - it can't be both at the same time. (until the libreoffice project has changed so much it isn't water anymore) Ubuntu 12.04 in my case), to make it easy to test this bug further? I will have access to OWA until 9th September, but likely not after that, so I would like to get cracking with test files ASAP, if more of them are needed. I have permanent access to OWA, and in my testing the problem isn't SENDING it with OWA. It's RECEIVING with OWA. Tried: a) Sending from OWA to Thunderbird - opens OK b) Sending from Thunderbird to Thunderbird - opens OK c) Sending from OWA to OWA - opens as 0-byte document (calc tries to import it) d) Sending from Thunderbird to OWA - reports wrong attachment size (+3kB) and opens as 0-byte document (calc tries to import it) Thus, I think this bug probably should be marked as fails to open correctly when RECEIVED through Outlook Web Access. Unless someone actually got the problem from sending docs from OWA to a non-OWA mail client. I hope you can also upload a few of them as attachments to the Bugzilla thread? My current test platform plan would be to install VirtualBox on our dual-boot home server, which runs Ubuntu 12.04 and LibreOffice. Then I would install Ubuntu 12.04 and OpenOffice on the VirtualBox. The resulting test environments should be alike enough - right? If I can take the time, I'll also produce test files on Windows XP - the only trouble is that my old laptop is a 32 bit and the dual-boot server is a 64 bit, but maybe that will not matter. Using Archlinux up to date on 30-07-12 with Libreoffice 3.5.5.3, Worksheets 3, 4, 5, and onwards do not return to the last position, the selected cell always goes to A1. Using the reporters attached workbook also does not work correctly. When using Debian Wheezy and Libreoffice 3.4.3 the workbooks work correctly on the worksheets. Rationale: 1) Charles' description testifies to the received aspect, as do Jaqueline's, l.dayot's and Arno's confirmations and Patrice's test file report. 2) I have seen that the same file, produced with LibO 3.5.* but saved in DOC format works just fine as an OWA email attachment.
