This bug tracker is not a helpdesk. Please ask for help on users mailing-list
or on AskLibo : http://ask.libreoffice.org/questions/

Closing as WorksForMe. Please feel free to open a new bug report (as

Without the file data or data types used in the columns, it is going to be
difficult to reproduce this bug.

Also, which locale are you using ?

I' on Mac OSX 10.8.1 and would be willing to give it a try.

No , not exactly , it's a request for a simple copy and single \ multiple paste
design . A ^C ^V sequence would be fine . It's a matter of keeping it simple -
ie. good engineering and ergonomic design - have the operations being carried
out as quickly as possible .

LibreOffice 3.6.1.2 (Final) (Build ID e29a214) Russian UI/Locale on Russian
Windows XP Professional SP3 (32bit)

The same behaviour when try to open folder in Windows explorer with .odt files.
The more files in folder, the more all freeses. The larger file is, the longer
all works. When rightclick on any .odt file to get popup menu, it appears after
10 or more seconds with high CPU utilisation. During CPU load files are locked
and can't be removed.
In Total Commander 8.01 such behavior is not observed. Folders are opened in a
flash, menu popups on rightclick without problems.

The same problem rises here

I tested with Ubuntu12 (64Bit), LibO 3.5.2.2 and an empty new presentation: I
was able to switch between the vies without problems.
Same result with Attachment 63289
No Crash with

We have several very similar LibO 3.5 Ubuntu Crash Bugs:
- Bug 46698 - VIEWING: Crash switching in and out of outline view (Mac ,
Backtrace seems to show ViewForwarder involved into crash)
- Bug 49191 - Impress crashes when switching to "Outline" or other such view
(Ubuntu, Archlinux, Backtrace seems to show ViewForwarder involved into
crash)
- Bug 49800 - Crash when changing view (Ubuntu)
- Bug 51563 - EDITING: When click Outline/Notes/Handout the programs crashes
  (Ubuntu)

I will mark all these as DUP of Bug 49191, where we have the most test results

If the other listed Bugs really are DUPs an attempt to get a fix into 3.5 might
be appropriate, although I am afraid that that will be impossible without
knowing the fix. Additionally we still do not know the roots of the problem.

evaluate the pros and cons I think we should follow Julien's suggestion and
make this one WFM

Please feel free to reopen this bug if new info shows a possibility to get a
fix bakcport to 3.5

@Noel, was told by Moggi that you know the basic code quite well. Would this be
something you could take care of?

Confirmed and I agree, a bit annoying. Marking as NEW and prioritizing. Thanks
for reporting.

Marked as TRIVIAL - HIGH as I don't see this affecting many users and while
it's annoying, it doesn't prevent users from making high quality work. Marked
as HIGH because I do think it could reflect poorly on LO for those who would
ever see this issue. We'll see what we can do to get it solved.

properly or a problem with LO? If it's confirmed can we mark as NEW, if not,
can we close it as NOTABUG and just keep the dialog open for those who want to

I just did a test with Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214) and it worked as it
should, I went back and forth between black background and no fill and the font
changed fine.

Also this should be under Spreadsheet and not have BASIC in title unless I am
missing something (?), changing both. Also marking as WORKSFORME. If it's still
a problem for you please provide version, build, your distro.

Also try making a backup of your libreoffice folder (inside of
~/.config/libreoffice) and then delete that folder. Open LO and see if that
solves it.

Open the attached bugdoc and follow the steps below.

Case A)
1:Hold down Ctrl key, place cursor over the sheet name "Sheet1" at
the sheet tab and hold down left mouse button. Drag the sheet tab
to the right and release the mouse button to make a copy of Sheet1.
The copied sheet would be named "Sheet1_2"

The chart on Sheet1_2 refers to Sheet1_2 as it should.

2:Select Sheet1_2. Hold down Ctrl key, place cursor over the sheet
name "Sheet1" at the sheet tab(*) and hold down left mouse button.
Drag the sheet tabs to the right side of Sheet1_2 and release the
mouse button. The copied sheets would be named "Sheet1_3" and
   "Sheet1_2_2"

(*) Keep holding the Ctrl key and do not lift it at this point.

The chart on Sheet1_3 refers to Sheet1 and the chart on Sheet1_2_2
   refers to Sheet1_2.

Case B)
1:Hold down Ctrl key, place cursor over the sheet name "Sheet1" at
the sheet tab and hold down left mouse button. Drag the sheet tab
to the right and release the mouse button to make a copy of Sheet1.
The copied sheet would be named "Sheet1_2"

The chart on Sheet1_2 refers to Sheet1_2 as it should.

2:Select Sheet1. Hold down Ctrl key, place cursor over the sheet name
"Sheet1_2" at the sheet tab(*) and hold down left mouse button. Drag
the sheet tabs to the right side of Sheet1_2 and release the mouse
button. The copied sheets would be named "Sheet1_3" and "Sheet1_2_2"

(*) Keep holding the Ctrl key and do not lift it at this point.

The chart on Sheet1_3 refers to Sheet1_3 as it should but the chart
   on Sheet1_2_2 refers to Sheet1_2.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39439] Web search for UI strings

2012-09-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39439

--- Comment #4 from Mat M 2012-09-07 00:37:51 UTC ---
Actually, if opengrok *really* supported escaping special chars, one could do
it straight with 2 full searches, first with Levenstein distance option.

e.g.
First Step: search for ID:

"Text E~xport"~5 is neat.
"Text Export~"~5 is wider but still contains result.
We should be able to do "Text \[ * \] Export"~5 that should narrow the search
and should not return
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/filter/inc/xlroot.hxx
because of line 126, but it seems opengrok does not escape special chars very
well...

Also, "Text Passwords for web connections"~5 works.

Second step, once you found the right ID, query it.

Is it enough ? Or what more do you expect ? If you can provide some examples
that are more complex / corner cases, it will be great.

PS: I didn't find a way to highlight matched text in OpenGrok when opening
file.

Nope it's worse than that; we want to go from "Export" to:

String STR_PDF_EXPORT
{
 Text[ en-US ] = "E~xport";
};

and from there to an opengrok query (?) for STR_PDF_EXPORT in the code.
Of course; we could do this in shell, in a tool in the code if you're
happier with that :-)

LibO 3.6.1, still the same. If you test it just make sure the range you are

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54613] New: Column chart is very slow when Transparency is used on the columns.

2012-09-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54613

 Bug #: 54613
Summary: Column chart is very slow when Transparency is used on
the columns.
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.4 release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Chart
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: mpjdev...@gmail.com

I have a chart with about 160 columns in 4 data series.
It takes about 1 second to update it, with no apparent loss of UI response.

If I "Format Data Series" on one of the series, and set a Transparency, it now
takes about 7 seconds to update, with loss of input response. With all 4 series
using Transparency it takes about 25 seconds.

The timing also seems proportional to the chart size, with the above example
taking up about a quarter of my screen and the zoom level set to 75%. It is
quicker if the chart is made smaller.

there must be another way.

Rainer: Would we consider this tracker as WFM or should we investigate to know
how to fix the problem on 3.5 branch?

The document does not render in 3.6.1 - all I get are a few horizontal lines,
no images and no text.

I got my accountant to produce a PDF of the same document I assume from Office

True, the problem does not occur in 3.6.1 in the Windows version (Vista).
But it is new in the Linux-64 version!

The workaround (macro) works, no need to copy the first line above the 'sub'

Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing.
May be hints on will help you to

Please:
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the

into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a document related step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem
(similar to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document

-- concerning your LibO version (with Build ID if it's not a public release)
and localization (UI language, Locale setting)

This has been reported before and I have made comments on it. Making a test
case is hard as the saves don't happen so I'm not sure what test document we
would provide. The issue is that if you save in a certain way things work fine
every time, to do this:

a) Edit macro
b) COMPILE macro
c) save macro within editor
d) save document

I think the issue comes when you do this:

a) edit macro
b) close editor
c) save document

I have been unable to confirm this as I've been pretty busy on other projects
lately but this IS a problem if it still exists. Someone needs to pinpoint the
exact steps that a user does that makes it so macros do not save, if they are
reproducible every time, we can fix it.

I personally have seen this and lost a great deal of work because of it, so I
know it can be frustrating but we need people to test exactly when it saves and
when it doesn't.

@ADB, if you want, email me directly and we'll work out test cases. It
shouldn't take long just like I said, I've been swamped with LO stuff on top of
my regular job ;)

Ah, it can be modified by program/flat_logo.svg. I was confused by the
program/shell/about.svg :-)

So, everything looks fine. I am sorry for the rummour. I should have looked to
the code earlier.

There used to be about.png in the program dir but it is not longer there.

Astron, do you know how is it supposed to work?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54605] New: Can't change about dialog branding at runtime

2012-09-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54605

 Bug #: 54605
Summary: Can't change about dialog branding at runtime
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.1.2 release
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: pmla...@suse.cz

We have the branding packages for LibreOffice on SUSE. We put the upstream
branding in a separate package "branding-upstream". The alternative files are
provided by the package "branding-openSUSE". See also
http://old-en.opensuse.org/SUSE_Package_Conventions/Branding

The branding-upstream-3.6 package includes the following files:

/usr/share/libreoffice/program/intro.png
/usr/share/libreoffice/program/shell/about.svg
/usr/share/libreoffice/program/shell/backing_left.png
/usr/share/libreoffice/program/shell/backing_right.png
/usr/share/libreoffice/program/shell/backing_rtl_left.png
/usr/share/libreoffice/program/shell/backing_rtl_right.png
/usr/share/libreoffice/program/shell/backing_space.png
/usr/share/libreoffice/program/sofficerc

The problem is that about.svg seems to be ignored. If I replace it, I still see
the green "LibreOffice" box on top of the about dialog. It seems to be somehow
hardcoded.

Would be possible to allow to change the about dialog?

We could add a field in "Language settings → Languages → locale setting" where
the user could set the default as he wants (two-digit → four-digit). So, for
example, nobody, who will create forms in Base with many date-fields, must
change the behaviour in every date-field, when he wishes four-digits for the
year.

Problem description:

When the search phrase doesn't match the document, LibreOffice will pop up two
dialogs:
1. "Search from the beginning of the document? Yes/no?"
2. "Search key not found."

This is rather unnecessary. "Search key not found." is sufficient. It could be
worth looking at how browsers and OS X's application Preview implement it --
they do it without dialogs.

In earlier version of OOo this was a normal behaviour: When you opened the form
for editing the toolbars for editing a form appeared. When you opened a form
for input of data, the toolbars disappeared.
Could be a good idea, that only the navigationbar of a form should be shown,
when a form is opened for input. Some people may use the print-function of the
menu bar, too. So this would be integrated in the navigation-bar. But all other
functions aren't used.

--- Comment #27 from Roman Eisele 2012-09-06 14:59:25 UTC ---
The new bug report Bug 54580 – “Clicking Slide Thumbnail of Non-Focused Window
Causes Rearrange/Crash” is nearly related to the present one (but NOT an exact
duplicate, so please don’t mark bug 54580 as a duplicate for now, until we have
more insight into the roots of both bugs!).

It contains of two parts:
1) “Clicking on a slide thumbnail in the left pane when LibreOffice does
not have window focus causes the selected slide to shuffle to the top
of the deck (become slide number one).”

IMHO this could be related to the broken drag-and-drop of slides in the present
bug report; I mean, both issues could have the same underlying problem.

2) “Now that we have rearranged slides, we can click on the thumbnails for
the two non-rearranged slides as many times as we want, but any attempts
at clicking on the rearranged slide (slide 3 cum 1) will cause
   LibreOffice to crash.”

IMHO this is the same crash as the one reported in the present bug report,
because the log files created for the crashes are all more or less identical.

So 1) seems nearly related to the present bug report, and 2) identical.

Thank you very much for your bug report, especially for your well-written,

(In reply to comment #0)
> The second half of my bug may very well be related to bug 51023; I'll let you

A good hint; see “Evaluation” below.

> First half:

> do). Now that LibreOffice is in the background, click on the thumbnail in the
> left pane for slide 3. Slide 3 will now be slide 1.

REPRODUCIBLE with
* LibreOffice 3.5.6.2 (Build-ID: e0fbe70-dcba98b-297ab39-994e618-0f858f0),
* LibreOffice 3.6.1.2 (Build ID: e29a214),
both with German langpack installed, on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel).

Maybe not 100% reproducible, but works most times.

> Second half:

both with German langpack installed, on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel).

Again: Maybe not 100% reproducible, but works most times.

EVALUATION:
I will attach a Mac OS log file created for the crash (second half). This log
file is nearly _identical_ to the ones for bug 51023 (see

  * attachment 63290
; all three crash at
  sd::slidesorter::model::PageDescriptor::GetPage() const + 6
); so I would say that the second half of this bug report is really a duplicate
of bug 51023.

In addition, I got the impression that also the first half of this bug report
is at least related to bug Thank you very much for your bug report, especially
