Please, do not change picker's settings.
Version for example, means most early version of LO where bug reproduced. Not

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54861] FORMATTING: When right click and select Format cells calc crashes

2012-09-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54861

 Hello

We need more details to try to reproduce the bug.

Windows xp sp3
I don't know if it could have some relation, I have installed
LibreOffice to replace a previous installation of OpenOffice 3 which
didn't even open.

The problem is there for all spreadsheets or one in particular?

For all spreadsheets even empty ones, but it ceased temporarily after
a repair-installation. I haven't yet tried
deinstallation-reinstallation.

 That contains (the) cells concerned?

Have you tried to reset your user profile cf.
 http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

No, but I haven't really used it other than opening some files which
crashed and I was offered the recovery feature.

(I'll try it anyway)
This has solved the problem of OpenOffice not opening at all ( :)) but
as of LibreOffice nothing has changed (I have uninstalled LibreOffice
5, deleted LibreOffice user profile, Installed LibreOffice 6, oppened
a new calc document; with all cells being blank clicking format cells
either from menu or from context menu sends LibreOffice to crash.)

 Regards
 Pierre-Yves

 time
now KDE asks about uploading this file to server after exiting LO.

not granted - especially in case of network failure or power off
if any program will save file to network drive and happens network failure or
power off, then file will be corrupted. This problem exist for all programs.

Main problem is that LO not allow wile names in URI notation, such as
smb://server/user/file.odt. On Windows used shortened filenames, without smb:
in beginnings. And it works. On Gnome all network drives mounted automatically
to ~/.gvfs folder.

Possible workarounds: mount network drive manually (not useful if drives can be
pover-off in different times); or use Nautilus

We may also ask developers to add support of URI notation to LO

hi, Roman. thanks very much.

i tried methods #1, just untick Enable Access for assistive devices it works.
i opened my file again and again and moved through pages very quickly and now
the program stays well.
btw, before diable it, i didn't active any of the options. it is all
default configuration.

i just installed the soft i need, and none of them is related to those in
method #2.

because method #1 solved the problem, two dictionary soft opened while testing
#1,and the office also works well, so the hanging or crash was not related to
these two soft -- dictionaries from Apple and eudic from eudic.net.

hope libreoffice grows more stronger!

But what I don't understand is that, this commit also got into

I have double-checked this and can confirm: the document opens correctly in

2012-09-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55436

--- Comment #2 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de ---
However, let me add another hint:

there is no common international order of the *, †, ‡, § … footnote symbols;
books about typography tell us that even in the English language and its
varieties there are different convention about the order of these symbols; and,
e.g., in Germany we had completely different tradition, namely to use
either
   * ** *** † †† †††
or
   * † ** †† *** †††
or just
   * ** ***  * …
(I have seen all three both in real use and in textbooks).

Because of this diversity of conventions, IMHO the best solution would be to
give the user the possibility to specify his/her own order. Could this done
just by adding an edit field to the dialog window available in Writer via
“Tools Foot/Endnotes…”?! To the popup menu “Numbering”, we should add an
entry “Custom”; and if the user selects that entry, an additional edit field
near to the popup menu should get enabled, into which the user can enter the
desired symbols, separated by blanks and/or commas.

But if this is too difficult, it would be also helpful to fulfill Eyal
Rozenberg’s original request first, by just adding (I propose) two new entries
to the “Numbering” popup menu there:
   *, †, ‡, § …
and (I suggest)
   * ** ***

Thank you for your bug report!

However, as far as I can see, LibreOffice Writer 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: da8c1e6) on
Mac OS X opens the document completely -- no text is missing. (There are some
formatting problems, esp. with the background color, but that is another
issue.) So either this bug is specific to LibreOffice on Windows, or the bug
was already fixed in LibreOffice 3.6.2.x.

Can you please download version 3.6.2.2(*) from

  http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

and test if the bug is fixed with that version for you, too, or if it persists,
and report your test results here?

This would be very helpful! Thank you very much!

(*) Please don’t be afraid because 3.6.2.2 is called a “release candidate” --
in some days, this version will be the offical 3.6.2.2 release. ;-)

Hint:

I can NOT reproduce this with LibreOffice 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: da8c1e6) on Mac OS

   ||style, so only one of them
   ||works

--- Comment #5 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de ---
I have tested this issue with LibreOffice 3.5.7.1 on Win XP, and there is the
same issue: Control-B is used two times:

* The tooltip for the bold button in the toolbar says: “Negrita (Ctrl-N)”.
* But the menu “File New ...” (in Spanish: “Archivo Nuevo ...”) also
says, depending on which component is active, that Ctrl-N is used for a new
Writer document (if Writer is active), a new presentation (if Impress is
active), and so on.

The only difference is that on Mac OS X the “File New ...” action wins,
while on Windows the “bold text” action wins. This makes the situation even
worse: when you switch between Windows and Mac OS X, the same keyboard shortcut
(Ctrl-B = Command-B) triggers two completely different actions.

So I suggest at least to remove one of the two identical shortcuts.

I have checked the French localization of LibO, and there the international
(English) standard is used:
* Command-B for bold text
* Command-N for new document
* Command-F for the find toolbar.
So, if even the French localization uses the English shortcuts, I would suggest
that the Spanish should do the same.

Another reasonable solution would be to change one of the two Ctlr-N/Cmd-N
shortcuts to Ctrl-Shift-N/Cmd-Shift-N.

Some Spanish experts should decide this. Again: which keyboard shortcuts does
MS Office use with Spanish UI?

Does this also happen if you remove the LibO user private settings (in your

I can confirm this behaviour. It would be a good idea to create orthonormal
axis.
In mathematical lessons we need such a function - or it's too difficult to
reproduce the difference between, for example, f(x)=x² and f(x)=5x² in
different charts. The charts of the functions would both look the same for
pupils.

--- Comment #26 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com ---
(In reply to comment #24)
I like these patches, now manage dialog shows CF they are defined in the
first cell of the block on which the apply. That's fine from end-user point
 of view.

Personally, I would have appreciated a thank-you; just a suggestion; one of
those little things that makes life flow -much- more sweetly.

Now the bug: it seems that defining a CF on a block of cells does not work
well: the propagation of the formula on each cell is not done. Step to
 reproduce:

The relative reference is expressed consistently with reference to the top left
hand corner of the range you're currently inside - at least with regard to the
CF dialog launched from the Manage range dialog. The idea of a special case for
when a cell is selected inside the range is (IMHO) not at all intuitive there.

With regard to the standard conditional format dialog though as Mario says the
way it currently behaves is really not ideal - it that looks very bug prone to
me - with people tempted to re-format single cells inside existing ranges in
odd ways that are hard to see etc. Fixing that with an add button is (IIRC) in
mind for 3.7 but I suspect will not happen for 3.6.

On the other hand, restoring the flow you mention to that way might work - if
you play with some hacking around a partial reversion of commit:
9edb6ba992ad2ef092996903d775df5313613bee you might have some luck and come up
with a patch.

But please - make my life easier by asking for changes more pleasantly.

Thanks !

Thanks Roman! :)

I also checked on Windows XP. And because bug 49342 was fixed in 3.5.4, I
checked the following official builds:
* 3.5.3.2
* 3.5.4.2
* 3.5.5.3

All versions open correctly. But incorrectly in 3.6.2.2. Same result ;)

--- Comment #3 from Stephan Hennig stephanhen...@arcor.de ---
LibreOffice's colouring of UI checkboxes' background is a little bit more
confusing. System window background colour is not completely ignored, but
distorted in a strange way.

As an example, setting system window background colour to an orange tone
RGB(255,127,63), makes LibreOffice render UI checkboxes with a background of
RGB(255,102,51), see second attachment. UI Combo boxes etc. are again rendered
correctly with a background of RGB(255,127,63).

How do you add the copied fields? When you will try this directly in a table
you could only add content to one field of one row. Same behaviour in a
base-form.
You have to use the wizard to import more than one field and one row into a
table.
Try the following way:
Copy the content you want to insert into a table.
Click with the right button of the mouse in the table-folder of Base.
The wizard appears.
Choose the option Append Data.
Table name is the name of the table, where you wish to add the data.
... and then follow the whole steps of the wizard.

Does this steps solve your problem?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51228] Allow connection to spreadsheet with relative path

2012-09-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #2 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de ---
I have tested the following with OpenSUSE 12.1 64bit, LO 3.6.2.1:
Created a calc-file with a little table.
Created a database, connecting to this calc-file in the same path A.
Moving the calc-file to another path B. Remember, that the old calc-file
doesn't exist any more.
Copying the base file to this path B.
When opening the new base-file in B, it connects right to the calc-file in
B.
Having a look at the properties of the database the path seems to be absolute,
but is is interpreted as a relative path.

Seems to work like Hendrik wishes.
@Hendrik: Could you please try to reproduce the way I described?

I have tried the following with a table of over 8000 rows:
Opened the table,
Input Record: 450 at the buttom, left side of the table. It jumps to this
row.

I could not confirm freezing of LO-Base, but when I tried to move to the last
row it lasts a moment. This is another bug,

Hello Alexander, *,
I can confirm this issue with LO Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: da8c1e6) under
Debian Testing x86. If you enter the text of the exported wiki text in a wiki
itself (I have tested it in my user profile at wiki.documentfoundation org),
the right borders of rows 2 and 3 have no border on their right ... :(

I cannot confirm your issue with LO Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: da8c1e6) under

newer version of LO than 3.5.0? Does your problem occur there as well? If not,
it would be kind, if you could close this issue ... ;)

Problem appears to no longer exist. It may have been an unique bug since I
sometimes will convert an existing .ppt presentation to .odp and that is when
the problem showed up.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48672] LibreOffice (and OpenOffice) does not provide a search by content

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48672

Hello jim8899, *,
I think, it is not our bug, but a bug from the GNOME search. With KDE 4.8.4
under Debian Testing x86 and LO Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: da8c1e6), I can use
dolphin (with nepomuk in the background) to search for the string abc in my
test files and it finds the string in your file. And I think, this should be a
feature request, not a bug, if it is LO's fault and not the one from the GNOME
search ... ;)

than 3.4.4, please? If it still occurs, it would be nice, if you could give us

you use and/or which java version is installed etc.

Hello Jarlath, *,
I can confirm your observation with LO Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: da8c1e6)
under Debian Testing x86 (but seem to remember to have this same behaviour
observed on my PC with Debian Testing AMD64), but I am not sure, if it is a bug
from LO and/or from the clipboard. I seem to remember, that it happened to me,
when copying from other applications to the clipboard (say from firefox to
konsole) in the past as well. So maybe it works as expected (by the
developers, it means ... ;) ).

Just out of interest: Are you using the default WM/DE GNOME? And have you
tested it with another one (like XFCE, KDE or the like)?
