[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 55485] New: sort option left to right does sort top to bottom
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55485 Priority: medium Bug ID: 55485 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: sort option left to right does sort top to bottom Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Mac OS X (All) Reporter: tr...@gmx.de Hardware: x86 (IA32) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.0.4 release Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice When I select the sort option from left to right, it still does sort from top to bottom. That's the major fault, but the sorting is a major bug and ui collection: Bugs: * sort options are not sticky: when you do select the same range of data again, the former option such as Range contains column labels is not kept. * sort now failed with the option of column labels: it did show the column labels to select from, but it still did include the labels within the sorting, thus moving the first row downwards User Interface: * the selection of sort criteria is very user unfriendly. If you want to see a better implementation, check e.g. FileMaker: A left column with available fields (labels), a right column to move the fields over and the option to reorder the selected fields (labels) - either by drag'n'drop or with up/down arrows * the major requirement to use the pop up lists is not user friendly. It's a poor copy of Excel, while over there you still may edit the selection by hand, e.g. to enter both the label or identifiers such as column z * field selection should trigger automatic sort options: when I do select the full table, full columns or full rows, it's very probable that this selection would include range labels. On the other hand, selection of a few cells only probably could mean no range labels, but data only. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44718] Add Unicode 2034 (Triple Prime) to LO
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44718 --- Comment #5 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com --- So - this is indeed font related; OpenSymbol doesn't appear to have those glyphs. So - we need to add them; first read: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/extras/source/truetype/symbol/README And you'll find the authoritative .sfd file in that directory to edit - and add the new glyphs to. With some dumb -luck- that might just work; please send a patch for the .sdf file with 2x new entries. It is possible we'll also need to adjust the big-table-of-re-mapping-badness in vcl/ that is used to synthesise wingdings and other common Windows fonts when they're missing. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55499 Priority: medium Bug ID: 55499 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: removal of header/footer scrolls to begin of document Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: xbet...@hotmail.de Hardware: x86 (IA32) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.1.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice When hovering the top (or bottom) of a page, a blue button appears for adding a header (footer). When a user clicks again the blue button to remove the header, headers of all pages of the document are removed and thereby the view scrolls to the top. This is probably undesired in long documents, and also inconsistent because you can add the (document-wide) header while working at a specific page, so removing it should leave you at the same page. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 55156] Hang on accessing any pane in the application Options dialog, when Cinch is running (related to Mac OS accessibility)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55156 Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de changed: What|Removed |Added Assignee|libreoffice-b...@lists.free |tlillqv...@suse.com |desktop.org | --- Comment #8 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de --- Thank you very much, Tor, for all your debugging work applied to this issue, and for your patch, even if you just call it a “silly workaround”! I have tested the new workaround with a current master build: LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 3f84462b, pull time: 2012-09-30 06:38:06), on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel), Cinch running as required. I can confirm a big progress: there is no hang anymore (and no crash, as it was caused by another a11y-related bug); the LibreOffice “Options” dialog window is usable again even when Cinch is running. Of course, there is still a noticeable delay when changing the options pane. To see more easily what’s going on, open the Terminal, start “top”, and let it run in the background while playing with LibreOffice. My observations: * When I open the LibreOffice “Options” dialog, everything is fine (the CPU usage of the soffice process jumps only for a second or not at all). * As soon as I try to change the current options pane, there is a 1-2 seconds dealy, and the CPU usage of the “soffice” process jumps to ca. 100%. Interesting enough, it stays at that high level even after the new options pane is visible. You can “feel” this also in the LibreOffice UI: changing anything in the new options pane (e.g., typing something into an edit field, or just checking a checkbox) works very slowly. But it works, of course, and this is a big progress. * If you change the options pane again, the same thing happens: a 1-2 seconds delay, then the new options pane is visible, editing/changing anything is very slow. CPU stays at more or less 100%. * Even when I close the “Options” dialog window, and there is another LibreOffice window open (Start Center or document window), the “soffice” process first stays at 100% CPU usage; as soon as I click on the Start Center or document window so that it gets the focus, the CPU usage goes down to normal level ( 1%). * If I close the “Options” dialog window, and there is no other LibreOffice window open, not even the Start Center window (this is possible on Mac OS X, not on Win), the CPU usage immediately goes down to normal level. @ Tor (and Michael Meeks): A big progress, and the main bug (the hang) is fixed now. Great! Of course, it would be even better if we could get the CPU usage (which stays at 100% after the first options pane change) down to a normal level again; this would make it much easier to change anything in the “Options” window, and give us back a good User experience. Do you see any chance to achieve this (without too much additional work, of course)? Anyway, thank you very much! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55436 --- Comment #4 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de --- (In reply to comment #3) Is there a keyword for MS Word feature parity? Not that I am aware of it. There is one (!) bug with the whiteboard (!) tag INTEROPERABILITY, so you can add it here, too, but this will probably not help very much … ;-) Once there was a very passionate QA volunteer who wanted to create a list of all interoperability issues, to make it easier to track and fix them, but he newer did what he announced :-( So, what to do about this request now? The best thing we could is to find some hacker who misses this feature, too, and wants to add it. But at the moment, I don’t know whom to ask. Caolán McNamara caol...@redhat.com has implemented some similar features, cf. e.g. bug 38983, but he is one of our most important developers and very busy, so I hesitate to ask him.
