--- Comment #10 from sasha.libreoff...@gmail.com ---
Indeed, in Word two last lines not stroked out, as shown in attachment.
Initially I thought that problem is that in LO two last rows is shown one over
another, as shown on screenshots. Sorry for not understand problem from first
attempt.

not reproduced in 3.4.2 on Windows XP 32 bit, therefore regression beginning
from 3.5.0 version
[reproduced] in 3.5.0 beta 3 on Windows XP 32 bit
[reproduced] in 3.6.3 on RFR 17 64 bit

I can confirm this.

I looks like the fix is to remove the "USD" from the default values. The "USD"
could perhaps be replace by a generic symbol or word, or, just leave it out
altogether?

IMHO this is most important among described problem and it is regression.
I know that this dialog is unfinished new feature. As I understand, it will not
fixed until 3.7.0 because adding button is new feature, not a bug fix.

It is not fixed! The problem still exist!

2. Install LibreOffice 3.6.3

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56944] New: Extensionname: Zotero fields not appearing for old citations, only newly inserted ones connect

2012-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56944

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 56944
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Extensionname: Zotero fields not appearing for old
citations, only newly inserted ones connect
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: rcr...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.4 release
 Component: Extensions
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 69853
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=69853&action=edit
a document I am working on with cites that don't show. You will need to have
zotero installed and open, either standalone or as firefox extension, and
zotero libreoffice extension installed all from zotero.org

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. update using apt-get upgrade
2. open a document with zotero citations in it. citations should show in gray
but they do not, they show as normal text in both footnotes and parenthetical
cites.
3. can add new citations to a document, but the old ones will no longer be seen
and do not update: no connection to zotero except for newly entered citations.
4. unzip odt file and view content.xml. code for old citations appears in the
document.
5. open in a linux box that has not recently been updated and the citations
reappear. update that computer and repeat.
6. ask for help at zotero forums, get told it is a problem with libreoffice "by
definition" since it is the field codes not showing.
7. Checked it on several computers in several locations and once updated they
no longer connect to the zotero database properly.
The update for the laptop I am using now was from (1:3.5.3-0ubuntu1) to
1:3.5.4-0ubuntu1.1 in Linux mint 13 (maya/precise), but the same thing happened
running Linux Mint debian (tracks testing) on both a 32 and a 64 bit machine.

Current behavior:
zotero fields not showing up in gray or connecting to zotero dbase, only new
citations recognized and in gray

Expected behavior:
previous as well as new zotero citations and bibliographies highlighted in gray
and connected to zotero database

plz help, as this affects two books and many articles and thousands of hours of
work!

Platform (if different from the browser):
Linux mint 12 (same problem on Linux Mint debian, which tracks a modified
version of debian testing.)

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/16.0

Definitely is a problem. It was a document I had been editing for over a week,
so it's definitely saved.

Tried it on a my "base" templated, which really just has the margins changed to
0.5" as well as a copy of the basic default document -- happens with both.

In LO Writer, with Web Layout mode selected, New Window is disabled. New
Window works fine in Print Layout. This appears to be by design, but I can't
figure out why, nor can I find any documentation to this effect. I say I think
it's by design because selecting Web Layout closes any duplicate windows. If
it was a mere bug, I would have expected a crash instead. :^)

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56939

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 56939
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILEOPEN: doesn't remember path from previous fileopen
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: st...@kelem.net
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.3.2 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Previous versions of Libreoffice would remember the last directory used for
reading LO files, for inserting images, and for pdf output.

3.6.3.2 doesn't remember that last directory. I work out of a few directories,
mostly out of one at a time. In 3.6.3.2 I have to navigate to the directory to
open my file. When I write my pdf, which is always to another directory, I have
to navigate there. Then I open my next file, which means navigating back to the
source directory. If I want to open a 3rd file, I have to navigate to the
source directory AGAIN! It's tedious, and I have a lot of parallel directories.
Restoring the "remember where I was last time" would save a lot of tedium,
time, and errors.

This happens A LOT, EVERY DAY, which is why I put the severity at Normal.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 52433] MEMORY LEAK: particular .odt leading to CRASH after several 'save as'

2012-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon

   What|Removed |Added

   Hardware|All |x86 (IA32)
 OS|All |Windows (All)
Version|3.5.5.3 release |3.6.2.2 release

For 3.6.2.2 on Windows XP and a quite small odt file containing large images as
embedded links,
1. I cannot confirm a memory leak when saving, the memory comes back, sometimes
it takes a while
2. I can confirm a crash when saving with lots of images as the memory goes
beyond 1,5 GB. Writer opens all the images in succession and does not seem to
close them and giving back the memory before opening further (as seen in
Process Explorer). Same when exporting to pdf.

So there may be two unrelated problems. As to the second one: writer shouldn't
even touch the images when saving as odt. Hard to imagine that this is hard to
fix. Any hint as to a similar bug or should I file this as a new one?

removing lp#1062757 as this is not about gnome-classic but in a unity session,
adding lp#1064962 which is the right downstream bug.

Closing as NOTOURBUG here as it is caused by a downstream vendorpatch in 3.6.

version of LO.

As can be seen on the attachment, while scrolling Writer sometimes leaves text
distorted and leaves some parts of the glyphs disappeared (distinguishable by
not equal height text rows) in some cases. Selecting the text or scrolling till
that part leaves the screen and scrolling back up restores the text.

Not a major issue, but definitely inferior behaviour compared to MS Word or
Pages. Plus, it leaves the impression that Writer is not a competent software,
even not able to render simple text properly.

I will continue to add relevant screenshots as problem reoccurs.

Reproduced in 3.5.7 and 3.6.3 on RFR 64 bit

Header becomes several times bigger and takes almost whole page.
IMHO size of pictures not extracts correctly from doc and as result Writer
takes size of picture itself (biggest is 1024x612 jpg) as size in document.

I also from time to time get unexpected results because I do not know all
details of the Styles handling, and I also often fail to get the results I want
because I know too few about relations there.

I believe the best place for a systematic manual and some "tips and tricks"
from real life would be the additional Manuals from

It sould be great if you could contribute some ideas
on, especially if you have learned
something new solving a "real life problem" and if you can contribute a draft
for an addition to the manual.

An example for a Problem I had: In CALC I want to see whether cells are
explications (no borders) or values (border), whether a cell is for an input
(blue border) or shows a result (red border). For results and inputs I need
different units (currency, physics, ...). And Additionally background of all
those cells should show whether the input or result is not plausible (checked
by formula in conditional formatting. And the relation between the styles
should be so functional that, for example, I can get double border widths for
all value cells in the document, but only the input borders s transparent ... .
But I never managed to do that correctly, suddenly my standard style is
modified unexpectedly and unwanted, I don't get the correct relations between
the styles.

Some similar not trivial examples might be useful.

In general, switching back to PS is a retrograde step and I'm pretty certain we
don't want to do that - but I'll seek advice from our cups maintainers :-)
Michael Stahl did a nice write-up here:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56844] FORMATTING: Conditional formatting not saving correctly

2012-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56844

Hello

My set up W7 64x and Libreoffice Version 3.6.3.2 (Build ID: 58f22d5)

Rather than try to explain I've attached a worksheet that shows the problem
But briefly the grid set in Conditional formatting changers after saving

After trying to reproduce this problem I think the cause is that the
grid contains merged cells - as a grid without merged cells worked.
However in the previous Libreoffice version the grid worked ok
regardless of the merged cells

Conditional formatting >> manage, should show E7:AZ121 Cell value is =
"b" That is what it shows when first set,
Observe all cells correctly formatted
Save, close, reopen
Look towards the bottom of the grid and you'll see that some of the
cells are no longer formatted
The saved grid has changed

Hope this is enough for you to see the problem - and its fixable

Graham

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56915] New: Remove printing dialog

2012-11-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56915

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 56915
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: Remove printing dialog
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: yajo@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Printing and PDF export
   Product: LibreOffice

tl;dr: This dialog is totally annoying.

See why:

1. You have to wait until it closes to edit the document.

Suppose you want to print a document as it is and then change something in it
and print it again modified.

If you send it to the printer but start changing those things before this
dialog closes, the changes may or may not be printed, depending on the progress
of the print process.

Solution: When pushing print, LO should make a snapshot of how the document is
in that instant, and print that, no matter what you do to the document from
then on.

2. Disturbs for modifying.

Continuing from the previous example, modifying the document while you have a
dialog in the middle of the screen is hard, so, also as part of the solution,
remove the dialog. It could be replaced with a progress bar at the bottom, like
M$ Office does.

3. You have to wait until it closes to close the document.

Suppose you just want to print a 30-pages document. The natural behaviour is:
open the document, push print, close the document.

If you do that before the printing dialog has gone away, the printing process
stops wherever it was when you closed the main window, and you have to check
the printer, see which was the last page printed, reopen the document in the
computer and start printing from where it stopped.

Solution: When closing the main window, don't stop printing. A dialog saying
"Waiting until all printing jobs are finished..." and offering a cancel button
should do the trick, again like M$ Office does.

Other solution may be closing the window but finishing the work in the
background, as happens when you close Firefox. However this doesn't provide the
cancel button, which may be practical.

With either solution, the printing dialog in the center of the screen adds
nothing, so please remove it.

Temporary solution to everything: Make the printing dialog modal, so you cannot
fall into these misbehaviours.
