[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56844] FORMATTING: Conditional formatting not saving correctly

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56844

Ok reading the bug report again.

The attached file is already wrong and only contains the range "collect
2'.E7:'collect 2'.AZ99 'collect 2'.E101:'collect 2'.AZ121 'collect
2'.E100:'collect 2'.AA100 'collect 2'.AZ100:'collect 2'.AZ100"

Do you have the original file that is not wrong? Otherwise you can fix it by
defining the range newly in 3.6!

In 3.6 we switched from cell style based conditional formats to range based
conditional formats which might create some problem for some documents. However
after you have range based conditional formats you will always be able to see
and beginning with 4.0 you will be also able to dynamically change the range of
the format.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56973] UI: Copy / Paste sole sheet of a spreadsheet wrongly looks inactive

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56973

Rainer Bielefeld changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||LibreOffice@bielefeldundbus
   ||s.de
Version|3.7.0.0.alpha0+ Master |3.3.0 Beta2

This problem is already [Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.3.0 RC4 - WIN7 Home
Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO330m19 (build 6 / tag 3.3.0.4)]" and OOo 3.1.1,
so this problem is inherited from OOo.

One reason for the current behavior might be that in the past there only was a
checkbox instead our 2 radio buttons, and there the only way was to mark the
Checkbox inactive with checkmark if no selection is possible.

I wonder whether it is possible to mark some of the possible radio button
selections inactive and other ones active? So may be this is not a bug report
but an enhancement request?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56973] New: UI: Copy / Paste sole sheet of a spreadsheet wrongly looks inactive

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56973

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 56973
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: UI: Copy / Paste sole sheet of a spreadsheet wrongly
looks inactive
  Severity: minor
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Steps how to reproduce with parallel installation of Master "LOdev
3.7.0.0.alpha0+ - ENGLISH UI / German Locale [Build ID: 70ec82)]"
{tinderbox: @16, pull time 2012-11-09 00:53:19} on German WIN7 Home Premium
(64bit) with separate User Profile for Master Branch:

1. Start LibO
2. Open New Spreadsheet using start center button
3. If Document contains more than 1 sheet:
Menu 'tools -> Optiopns -> Calc -> Defaults' change 'Number of worksheets
   in new document" to 1
Close libo and restart from 1
4. type an "a" into cell A1
5. 'Right click sheet tab "Sheet1" -> Move/Copy sheet'
Expected: Radio button "Move" greyd out, because it's not possible to
move a sheet in a document only containing this sole sheet.
Radio button "Copy" active and selected
Actual: Selected radio button "copy" is greyed out, looks inactive
6.
   > A uplicate of "Sheet1" will be added.

So the function works fine as expected, but UI wrongly looks as if copy would
be impossible. The problem seems to be that both radio buttons are buttons are
marked inactive by the same condition, but they need different ones for the
"only 1 sheet" case.

Security-settings are made in the database, not in the GUI. The internal HSQLDB
could only be used for one person. So the user of this database is the
administration-user.

If you wish user security settings you have to use the database. Then you are
asked for user and password, when the GUI of Base connects to the database.

We have no builds with that Version, no 4.0 Version in Bugzilla, so currently
please leave this one as 3.7 MAB tracker.

Please adapt all relevant tools to 4.0 (renaming or creating new ones)
simultaneously after that has been reasoned and some notes have been left in
the Wiki.

Although the latest 4.0 code is simply further development of the Master, it
might be appropriate to create a new 4.0 Master Version for Bugzilla and leave
3.7.0.0.alpha0+, because for most users it will be worrying to have lots of
bugs for Version 4.0 (due to vrsion picker) without any 4.0 Version mentioned
in the comments.

This is the same form in pdf made under windows after saving it

This is the same original form designed under windows and saved there as pdf so
I can use it when under Ubuntu. That was the only solution to work under
Linux...go to windows, and do what you want and save it as pdf then go back to
linux to use it. I think this not practical for anyone.

So far experience with writer is very bad, even still I did not report problems
when using Arabic fonts. The idea is that when under the processing everything
may look good but once the file is closed and reopened then the problems will
come up.

there any way to get useful information short of installing Microsoft's debug

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56970] New: switching between sheets with different directionality hides the + button for new sheet

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56970

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 56970
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: switching between sheets with different directionality
hides the + button for new sheet
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: kaplanl...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.3.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

When changing a directionality of a sheet or selecting another sheet with
different directionality (in both cases, changing the location of the sheets
tab from left to right or the opposite) makes the + button for adding a new
sheet to disappear.

When ever getting to the original location, the button appears again.

This happens when switching to RTL sheets in LTR (e.g. English) interface or
switching to LTR sheets in RTL (e.g. Hebrew) interface.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 53909] : Importing doc-files from pages doesn't work and icloud.com

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53909

Retracting my "about a year" -- I don't remember LO on Linux ever working for
me with these exported docs. I used OO before LO and my recollection is that on
Linux it had problems, also.

I've "laundered" the docs using NeoOffice before. My Google docs discovery was
very recent.

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53909

File does not open on LO 3.6.3.2 (Build ID: 58f22d5) on Linux 64-bit. I can
confirm that this same behavior has been happening for me with LO for quite a
while on 32 bit also. I am curious that someone got it to read in 3.5, as my
Linux copies of LO have been unable to work with my exported Pages docs for
about a year.

File opens fine on NeoOffice (Mac) 3.3 patch 2.

File opens fine in Apple Pages 2009.

I didn't send this particular attached file to Google docs, but I sent one I
exported from Pages as a Word doc to GD earlier this week and GD can read the
exported Pages and iCloud Word files where LO cannot. BTW, downloading one of
these files back from GD seems to clean whatever offending content bars opening
the original. I can open my GD-downloaded files in LO.

3.6.3 is now the recomended version for all users. But still have this annoying
bug.

Do you still think we should not consider it as blocker ?

That's not a shiny new feature for fun ... that's a real pain when you use
LibreOffice at work and have many drawings/presentations that use
left/center/right tabstops in headers/footers.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56968] New: EDITING, UI: Select object autoscrolls document

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56968

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 56968
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING, UI: Select object autoscrolls document
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: dennis.bellin...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.2.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

When selecting an object in the Writer main interface, writer autoscrolls the
document to show the anchor, if you then scroll away from the anchor there is a
half a second pause after scrolling until the document jump back to the anchor.
This becomes a problem when the anchor and bottom of the object are not both
visible in the editin window at the same time, as it then becomes impossible to
resize/rotate/adjust the object using the bottom handles.

To Reproduce:
1. Open Writer
2. Insert a large object (picture, fontwork, formula, etc)
3. Resize until larger than editing display area
4. anchor to paragraph (occurs with all, but this is most reliable)
5. scroll down to the bottom of the object (the anchor icon should no longer be
visible)
6. Writer will jump back to the anchor before you have a chance to use the
handles (resize, rotate, skew, etc)

In fact conditional formatting is lost at any copying of cells, not only of
entire sheets. This is contrary to what Excel does, which is, in my opinion,
more logical: conditional formatting is part of the formatting of the cell, so
it should be copied along with the content and formatting.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56963] New: Stability degrades with large document

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56963

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 56963
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Stability degrades with large document
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: wa4...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.3.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

I have a rather large document (270+ pages) that has been years in development.
It has tons of footnotes, text boxes, and inserted images, both local images
and links. The ODT file is about 94 MB. I have experienced problems for some
time, but they are intermittent, come and go, and have mostly been merely an
annoyance. However, as the document continues to grow they have become more
and more severe. The problem appears in several recent version of LibreOffice,
as well as OpenOffice and appears on both Mac and PC.

I spent some time with xmllint dissecting the document for errors that might
contribute to the issue, finding no problems, no errors. I have also
experimented with splitting the document into a master document with various
sub-documents, but similar problems still dog my work, and the master/sub
document configuration gives me formatting issues that I have not been able to
overcome as yet, but that's another discussion.

The primary symptom is that writer suddenly becomes unresponsive. This seems
to coincide with any operation that might cause a repagination of the entire
document. Usually, hitting Tools|Update|Update All will provoke the issue
about 90% of the time, but then other times the update occurs without problems.
Attempting to export as PDF also often does so. Lately it has been crashing
on a file|save operation, which is REALLY annoying. I have left it sitting at
times for hours, hoping it might recover, but it does not, the only recovery
being to force a close and then reopen and recover the document. Usually this
means recent changes are lost, which is very annoying.

Occasionally, rather than simply lock up and become totally unresponsive,
writer just quits unexpectedly. Again, recent changes are usually lost.

A few times I have simply opened the document, and then had to leave my desk
for a time. Without my ever touching a keystroke after opening the document, I
find it crashed when I return. I believe it will eventually crash if simply
left alone.

I need help in getting to the bottom of the trouble. There are two aspects.
First determine precisely what it is about this document that provokes the
misbehavior. Perhaps there are XML errors that I have missed when looking at
it with xmllint. Any advice on what to look for, how to use xmllint to best
troubleshoot, or recommendation for a better tool is most welcome. I am
however inclined to believe it is simply the sheer size of the document, along
with the number of insertions.

Secondly, even if the problem is due to document errors, clearly LibreOffice is
not dealing well with the errors. So if we can better quantify what is going
wrong, perhaps specific bug reports can address where Writer is going "off the
rails" when faced with a troublesome document.

I would like to volunteer my system (via remote access) or my document, or both
to anyone from the developer community who is interested in taking a closer
look. I could obfuscate the document and post it somewhere, but as I cannot
really edit it effectively any more that would be difficult. On the other
hand, there is nothing particularly secret about it, so I would trust giving it
to a single developer who would promise not to disseminate it. I can place it
on Dropbox, or Google Drive and send a link via email to someone interested in
troubleshooting. I wouldn't want it widely shared, as I would hope to finish
it before letting it out into the wild, but there is nothing that is really
secret.

I searched the online bug reports, and do not see anything that really seems to
be a duplicate. However #56528 does seem somewhat similar, thus might have a
common root-cause of the failure.

If a developer would like to take a look and try and get to the bottom of the
issue, feel free to email wa4...@yahoo.com.

Regards,
Nathan

I am presently using Version 3.6.3.2 (Build ID: 58f22d5) on an iMac under Snow
Leopard (OS X 10.6.8 ) with 4 GB memory. Behavior is not limited to this

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56961] New: fileopen, formatting

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56961

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 56961
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: fileopen, formatting
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: ibrahim.ham...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.4 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

When composing new document using writer in Ubuntu, using Arabic fonts,
everything seems fine and the file is saved. However, once the file is closed
and re opened again, the formatting of the document will be different as
follows:

1- The direction of the document is changed from Right to Left to become from
Left to Right
2- All text align to left instead of right
3- image placed in the header (logo) will disappear, and some time will remain
but is aligned to left
4- Any added fields will not be there anymore
5- the document size is set back to default (letter)

The Following describes my system:

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Memory 5.8 GiB
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz × 8
Graphics: GeForce GT 540M/PCIe/SSE2

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: chja...@live.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Start MS Visio 2007 and create new drawing
2. Draw two rectangles in it
3. Connect the rectangles with a connector
4. Save the drawing and close Visio
5. Open the drawing in LibreOffice Draw
6. Move the rectangles

The result: the connector from MS Visio is not imported as a connector in

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48039] Cross-references disrupted in Master Document

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48039

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today I reproduced this
problem.

Just some first research:
"Error: Reference source not found" is defined by STR_GETREFFLD_REFITEMNOTFOUND
in sw/source/ui/utlui/initui.src
STR_GETREFFLD_REFITEMNOTFOUND is only used to declare
aGetRefFld_RefItemNotFound variable here: sw/source/ui/utlui/initui.cxx

This variable is only used there:
void SwGetRefField::UpdateField( const SwTxtFld* pFldTxtAttr )
(sw/source/core/fields/reffld.cxx)

Then reading this:
296 SwTxtNode* pTxtNd = SwGetRefFieldType::FindAnchor(
297 pDoc, sSetRefName, nSubType, nSeqNo, &nNumStart, &nNumEnd
298 );
299 // not found?
300 if ( !pTxtNd )
301 {
302 sTxt = ViewShell::GetShellRes()->aGetRefFld_RefItemNotFound;
303 return ;
304 }

FindAnchor method is line 831 of this same file.
Running gdb on all this showed me that if at the beginning nSeqNo was equal to
1, then it seems always equal to 0. Now is it normal or not? Why is it always
0?...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37638] Index randomly broken up with extra white space

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon

(In reply to comment #10)
> @Nadav - did you check the problem in other languages or it just happen to

I've only seen this problem in this specific document, which is in Hebrew. I
don't know whether the bug is specific to RTL or Hebrew (less likely), or
whether it is specific to indexes, to multi-column text, or what.

I was hoping that someone with actual access and understanding of the source
code could easily (?) debug where that extra white space is coming from, since
it is consistently being added.

As to being random, it does appear sort-of-random, but if you always use the
same "seed" (open the same file, do the same sequence of events) then indeed
the white space always appears in the same place. As I continue to edit this
document, I notice that the white space seems (unless I'm just remembering it
wrong) drift from place to place.

Thank you for reporting this bug.

I tested it with 3.5.4 on Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64 and it gave the same problem.

I also tested it with 3.7.0.0-alpha (on the same system) and didn't get the
problem. So it seems that it has been solved in development. When 3.7 comes
around it should be solved.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56958] New: Spreadsheet Crashes trying to SORT after using and removing SUBTOTALs

2012-11-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56958

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 56958
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Spreadsheet Crashes trying to SORT after using and
removing SUBTOTALs
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: bill@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.2.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

First I sorted my spreadsheet data. Then I created subtotals. I removed the
subtotals and tried to sort the spreadsheet using different criteria. It
crashed. I recovered the spreadsheet, tried it again and it crashed again.
The third time, I recovered the spreadsheet, saved it after removing the
subtotals, but it crashed again when I tried to sort it differently. Finally,
I recovered the spreadsheet again. I had saved it without the subtotals and
when I sorted it, it worked. I can't attach the file because it has sensitive
information.

Still happens with LibO 3.6.3. Another thing I've noticed is that invoking any
header related change (edit, delete) fixes the problem and the text reappears.

Bug ID: 56957

Summary: undefined: Useless and bad conversion of simple text
files renamed with ".odt".
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: doms...@yahoo.fr
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.3.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 69871
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=69871&action=edit
The files descipted in the text.

Problem description:
When I open, with the interface, a simple text file with the ".odt" extension,
LibreOffice convert it with Spreadsheet, instead of Writer.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Make a simple text file with several lines, for example with notepad (like
"test0.txt").
2. Save it with ".odt" extension, with "Save as" and quotes, or rename it. You
have the "test1.odt" file.
3. Open it with the interface of LibreOffice ("Open..."), it will be converted
with Spreadsheet.

If you double-click on the file, it opens with writer: it's good.
If you name it with "ods", like "test2.ods", it opens (with the interface or
with double-click) with Spreadsheet: it's good.

Current behavior:
It will be converted with Spreadsheet.

Expected behavior:
Test1.odt should open with Writer with the interface, like with the
double-click.

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:19.0) Gecko/19.0 Firefox/19.0

It should have the following buttons:

OK - Apply the changes and close the dialog.
CANCEL - Close the dialog without applying changes.
HELP - Open the help system.
RESET - Reset fields to their initial values.

There is no reason for this dialog to be different than other dialogs. Look,
foir example, at the following dialogs: File→Properties, Format→Cells, and
Format→Page. All have the above four buttons.
