[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47458] EPS graphics not displayed properly during presentation
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47458 --- Comment #17 from Roman Eisele --- Created attachment 70774 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=70774&action=edit An even simpler test kit, including a manually created EPS (In reply to comment #15) > Because we have problems only with some exact pictures, not with all EPS (at > least on Windows), I have one question: how created this EPS picture? Can you please test the attached “even simpler” test kit, which includes * a manually created EPS (yes, I learned PostScript long ago ;-), extremely simple, using only language level 1 commands * a simple .odp file just containing that EPS Does *this* EPS file display correctly on Windows -- or does it not? On Mac OS X, no difference: the EPS displays correctly when editing the presentation, but is replaced by the well-known placeholder frame when presenting. So, on Mac OS X, the results do NOT depend on the complexity of the EPS file: just *every* EPS file fails to display during presentation. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

So, on Linux, we have a different issue than on Mac OS X. As far as I can see, we have very different results: * On Mac OS, *every* EPS graphics fails to display properly during presentation * On Linux, only in the current master builds EPS graphics fail to display properly during presentation; -> regresssion?! * On Windows, *some* EPS graphics display correctly, and others don’t; we have to find out what makes the difference ... I fear we need to handle these problems as three different bug reports: a general report for Mac OS X (the present one), a report about a regression on Linux, and a report about *some* EPS graphics failing to display on Windows (further research necessary). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57063] FORMATTING/FILEOPEN: spacing "Above/Below paragraph" from old .ott template is lost in 3.5.0 and newer
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57063 --- Comment #15 from Roman Eisele --- Thank you for the file! Interesting results: * When I open your 3.3.4 template file (“bar.ott”) in LibO 3.6.4.1, the spacing “Above paragraph” and “Below paragraph” is correct. * But when I open the template file, save it under a new name as Writer template (.ott file) again, close it, and then open the new .ott file again, all “Above paragraph” and “Below paragraph” spacing is lost. * This time, the same happens when I open the template file, save it under a new name as normal Writer (.odt) file, close it, and then open the new .odt file again, all “Above paragraph” and “Below paragraph” spacing is lost. So, something is wrong with the handling of these properties in (some?) .ott files: while the “Above paragraph” and “Below paragraph” spacing is correct first, it gets lost after saving the files created from the .ott template. @ dear Writer experts: Can you please take a look at this issue? https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53442 --- Comment #2 from Gerry --- Is there any chance that this bug gets fixed for LibreOffice 4.0? I am very glad that Miklos added the possibility to assign comments to text ranges, but it is IMHO just half a feature if it does not allow to assign it to multiple paragraph text ranges. Right click on the column select Format Data Series 5. Select a Area Fill Color and select any color 6. Select Transparency Gradient (or Transparency or No Transparency does not change the behavior in ALL following steps) (selected color is displayed) 7. Select Area Fill Gradient and any gradient 8. Select Transparency (selected gradient is displayed) 9. Select Area Fill Color and any color 10. Select Transparency (selected color is NOT displayed but the previously selcted gradient) Instead of Color and Gradient, Color and Hatching and Color and Bitmap and Color and None show the same behavior. Any switching sequence between Gradient, Hatching, Bitmap and None showed correct behavior when going from Area to Transparency. Next I tested Impress Chart which I submitted to bug 56766. I open it in normal mode (not Read Only) from my HDD. There I observed an equivalent behavior but Gradient behaved like Color in the file of Rainer Bielefeld. Therefore I made test 3. I created a new Column Chart in Impress and observed the same behavior as in Rainer Bielefelds' slide which I opened only in Read Only mode An additional observation was made in all charts used for testing: When switching from Area Fill Color, to Area Fill Hatching the last selected color was displayed as background color and does not match the background color of the hatching patterns. Current behavior: Whenever a switch was made from Color to Gradient, the Color does not show up in Transparency. The same is valid for Hatching, Bitmap and None. However, changing to all kind of Gradients, Hatching, and Bitmap, and None works correct when going to Transparency. Only Color does not show up in Transparency when there was once one of the other Fill were selected According to the other two test I made the behavior is instable. This problem was NOT present in the previous daily build I have tested, i.e. LOdev 4.0.0.0.alpha1+ (Build ID: 6aabe09ac092c51d4b394bde9c7ea0055b952e3; pull time: 2012-11-26 00:28:52). So: a regression?! Removing/renaming the LOdev user profile does NOT change the situation: the extension still has the “unknown” status. I have not installed any other extensions at all. It does not change the situation if I install the the US English language Pack or not. This is independent of the calculation mode: 1900-01-01 and 1899-12-30 both show the same behaviour. Since it's at the same date (not number) this might be intentional? I've found nothing in the docs. I cannot see any situation where this is of positive value. At least: it is absolutely undesirable in Germany (and probably most other countries). So if you not simply correct that behaviour there must be a place where a user can change it. In Normal the gradient filling is displayed. Note: pasting the same chart as GDI Metafile displays the gradient fillings of the chart column as gradients in Normal and slide show. Note: That the GDI metafile displays the gradients also in slide show was observed while working on the presentation. However, after working for a while on this particular presentation, the GDi Metafile pasted charts changed also from gradient in Normal to full color in slide show. Steps to reproduce: Calc chart: opened new ods-file entered data selected data range, created chart, first with default colors of Calc. clicked on data series right clicked on selected data series and selected Format Data Series Selected Area Fill Gradient ,selected yellow-white gradient created once before using white and yellow checked Transparencys setting = No Transparency Clicked OK Repeated this 3 time for each stacked column element saved file as ods. Impress slides Opened new Impress file Used default template of LibO Created 2 slide with Title Only layout Selected Chart in Calc and used ctrl+ key Clicked once into the slide Pasted chart from Calc using ctrl+shift+V key and selected first Star Object format and in next slide GDI meta file format Switched from Normal to Slide Show using F5 Observation: Star Object slide displayes color (not the gradient visible in Normal) GDI Metafile slide displayes gradient as visible in Normal When I created bug 56766 I observed that even the GDI Metafile started changing from gradient to full color when going from Normal to Slide Show. What I did not understand is why this bug did not show up for quite a while during which I worked on that presentation and switch frequently back and forth between Normal, Slide Show and, Outline and Notes. I would have been happy if the GDI Metafile worked. Saved file in odp-format. This bug is linked to Bug 56766 Current behavior: Star Object pasted chart changes column filling from gradient in Normal to full color in slide show.
