The cursor inside a text field disappears every time the font size is changed.

Bug ID: 57828

Summary: CALC: Column lines becomes invisible when scroll the

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: verdna2...@yandex.ru
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 rc
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

When scrolling the spreadsheet in my working file left (moving the slider
right), the lines of columns becomes invisible (sheet "Склад ликв. мат-в 12").
Originally this file was created in MSO. Changing the style of lines is
impossible for me because many people use this file and it's important to not
change visual style/formatting. Also this time there's no need to see the true
"double line" style, but these invisible lines are very annoying and make me
feel uncomfortable.

Also with LibO 3.4.5 and 3.3.3 (more early versions not tested), but not with
OOo 3.4.0. So this one seems to be a regression compared to OOo

As Muthu stated the problem is lmited to Writer, When I copy the chart to Calc,
Impress, Draw the problem disappears, copying the chart back to a writer
document makes the problem reappear.

A characteristic of this problem is that the problem is not visible in the
Chart Edit Mode (after double click on the chart).

This problem looks very much like what I am experiencing.
I am using LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 on Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTS.
I have registered a directory on a unix server as a database of csv formatted
files used for creating packaging labels.

When we open the label template file that is linked with a particular database
table in that directory, it shows exactly 30 records too many in the resource
manager. The extra records will print as a restart of the database at what
whould have been the end of the label set.

Selecting another table in the resource manager and then reselecting the proper
table, correctly shows the proper number of records in the table and prints as
expected.

Win 7x64 Ultimate
LibreOffice Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 2ef5aff)

I can not reproduce this issue.

But this is intended if you have both sheets selected.

LibreOffice help:
"
Copying to Multiple Sheets
In LibreOffice Calc, you can insert values, text or formulas that are
simultaneously copied to other selected sheets of your document.
Select all desired sheets by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking the
corresponding register tabs that are still gray at the bottom margin of the
workspace. All selected register tabs are now white.
You can use Shift+Ctrl+Page Up or Page Down to select multiple sheets using the
keyboard.
Now when you insert values, text or formulas into the active sheet, they will
also appear in the identical positions in the other selected sheets. For
example, data entered in cell A1 of the active sheet is automatically entered
into cell A1 of any other seleted sheet.
"

If this is the case not a bug.

Ran into this same problem today.

Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate
Libre Office 3.6.3 Win x86

Just upgraded from OOo to LibO. Created a small Writer document and was
completely successful in changing the font from Times New Roman to Calibri and
saving the document.

Left that document open and created a new document. Before adding any text
tried to switch the font to Calibri, but upon clicking in the combo-box to
select the new font, Libre Office informs me that an unexpected error occurred
and begins saving my documents. The program recoverst he documents just fine,
but when I opt to change the font again, the process repeats.

I closed all Libre Office docs, ensured the process had been stopped and tried
again with the same result.

When I use Format -> Character and select the font from the dialog, all is well
and the program does not crash. Hopefully thsi provides some useful
information to track down this error.

Thank you for reporting this bug.

I remove my profile often because of tests with the profile. I have never had
this problem.

Are you using old master? That version isn't used often. Can you please check
the version you use? This can be found at Help -> About LibreOffice.

I use Ubuntu 12.04, maybe there is a difference. Bjoern do you know why this
can happen?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50774] FILEOPEN DOC/DOCX: automatic numbering in numbered lists different from Word numbering

2012-12-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

> @stfhell
> Is it possible to split this into separate bugs with brief clear and simple
> bug descriptions? I'm a little overwhelmed with that enormous lot of samples

The problem is I wouldn't know what to put exactly in the other bug reports. I
was looking at how "Example 9" does its numbering and I was experimenting with
autonumbering in Word to see where LO deviated and if there is any difference
between DOC and DOCX import. I'm sorry for the lengthy comments but I couldn't
make them shorter because I still don't know where exactly LO's problems start,
I could only describe what I found in the file. Maybe it is in fact just one
bug.

The samples show (I think):
(1) If autonumbering is used correctly in Word, LO can handle it.
(2) Autonumbering in Word (without list styles) is obviously bound to lead to
messy files, at some stage.
Just ignore the files if you don't want to use them for any experiments.

> I can confirm that "Lotus Symphony Release 3.0.1 Revision 20120110.2000" on
> German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) shows headings in sample 2012-06-06 03:09

> So it's a difficult decision:
> - Is it that worth to invest time to do a fix for such strange documents?
> - But if other free software is able to handle that, shouldn't LibO
> be able, too?

I think it would be worthwhile. "Example 9" is a typical real-life Word
document. People create such files, partly because autonumbering is more or
less "forced" on them by AutoCorrect. It's a feature which _should_ be used
with some consideration. I regularly get Word files from people, and with LO
(or OO) I can often only guess what kind of numbering the authors had in mind.
Sometimes I have to use MS Word Viewer to print a PDF as a reference for the
original doc's numbering.

On import of DOC/DOCX, LO tries to convert Word's non-style autonumbering to a
style-based numbering (the filter creates plenty of WW8 list styles). That is
not a trivial thing to do, and I could imagine that this is the root of the
problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57822] New: EDITING: Cells across sheets become strangely linked corrupting spreadsheet

2012-12-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 57822

corrupting spreadsheet
  Severity: blocker
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: ian.cr...@gmail.com

Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.3.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 70944
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=70944&action=edit
Minimal example to reproduce bug

Caveat: this is hard to explain. Please try steps to reproduce or attached
sample file. I think this might be similar to bug 51748.

It seems that if you put a reference to a cell in one sheet in a cell on
another sheet then other cells around also become mysteriously linked. However
you cannot see these links in the content of the cells, but they behave like
they are linked.

It's hard to explain but it's a nightmare because you end up corrupting your
whole file and by the time you realise what's happened you've overwritten lots
of cells on different sheets. I cannot use an application with this behaviour
as I cannot trust it not to lose my work.

Steps to reproduce (the values below are arbitrary):

* Create new spreadsheet
* Enter value 50 in Sheet1.A1
* Enter value 60 in Sheet2.A1
* Enter "=Sheet2.A1" in Sheet1.A2
* Enter value "ss" in Sheet2.B1
* Change back to Sheet1 and you'll find that the value "ss" has been copied to
Sheet1.B1. Why?!

Thanks,

Ian.

There is currently no rotate 180 degrees option under Format > Character… >
Position tab and Rotation / scaling as you indicate. The best way around the
shortcoming is to use a text box for the text on this page and rotate the
entire text box 180 degrees via right click (on the frame) Position and Size… >
Rotation tab and set the Angle to 180.00 degrees.

Why do I have to rotate the box? I often then have to rescale the box and many
other things so that it fits again all.

If you create a table in writer with lets say 5 lines and 2 columns and you
want to past the format from one side (one box of the table) to all fields on

background colour is copied. Sometimes only the headlines are formatted

Just try to copy the format with the "brush" tool of one of the upper boxes to

If you open writer ... insert some rectangular boxes from the drawing tool one
on top and one near bottom of a document then write sth. into the boxes and
then want to copy/paste the format with the "brush" tool from the upper box to
the lower box ... you cannot reach the bottom box cuz every time you move down
with the "brush" the page flips up.

It could be a problem with foreign-keys. Same content at different positions
could be changed or could not.
Working with Base is often working in server-based databases. The database has
to confirm every changing.
There has nothing happened with this report since the beginning of LO. It must
be declared better so that more people could say "A good idea." or "Impossible
with databases".
The first version this enhancement is missing is LO 3.3.0. This version has to
be shown in the bug-report. I have changed the version to LO 3.3.0 Beta2.

I see what your problem is.

But the disable URL recognition is that addresses aren't automaticly set to a

You want to disable the styling of URL's. That option isn't in LibreOffice as
far as I know. I should be a good enhancement as far as I think.

In French, we use this type of quotation mark : « and ». i want to report a bug
I found today : when, after an apostrophe
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostrophe), you want to quote a citation and you
type ", it show » and not «.

Example : Je suis l'»homme » le plus idiot du monde.

It should be : Je suis l'« homme » le plus idiot du monde.

Thanks for what you do, I use LibreOffice every day.

And sorry for my English, I'm just a fifteen years old student ;-)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48758] TABLE: Number Format Recognition is performed though Option "Number Format Recognition" is not Marked

2012-12-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48758

--- Comment #10 from harald-koes...@htp-tel.de ---
I had look to this bug report again and I also tried some more things. The
result is “hopefully” an improved description of the number recognition with
examples and two additional remarks. To my opinion this description could
replace the help text of the options “Number Recognition” and “Number format
Recognition”.

< Beginning of description >

_Number recognition_

Determines that the number recognition in tables is active. A number category
is assigned to each cell. Generally the number recognition only works in cells
with number categories Percent, Currency, Date, Time, Scientific, Fraction and
Boolean Value. The number recognition works as follows:

(1) A number is always recognized, if the input is recognized as a valid number
value with a unit according to the number category of the cell. The cell is
formatted according the format assigned in the Number Format dialog.
Examples: An input of “12 %” in a cell with category Percent changes to
“12.00%” or an input “10/05/20” in category Date changes to “2010-05-20”.

(2) Furthermore a number is always recognized, if the input is a valid number
value without a unit. The cell is formatted according the category and the
format assigned in the Number Format dialog. (Hint: Value is converted, if
category is Date or Time.)
Examples: An input of “12.345” in a cell with category Percent changes to
“12.35%”, an input of “1234.56” in category Currency changes to “$1,234.56” or
an input “23456.78” in category Date or Time changes to “03/20/1964 18:43:12”.

(3) If the option “Number format recognition” is marked, an inputted number
with a unit is also recognized even the unit is different to the number format
of the cell. The unit has to in accordance with a unit of one of the
categories. The category changes according to the inputted unit. The cell is
formatted with a default format of the according category.
Example: An Input of “12.345%” in a cell with the category Currency changes to
category Percent and “12.35%” is displayed.

(4) With all other inputs the number category changes to “Text” and the
inputted text is not changed.

If “Number recognition” is not active, all inputted numbers are always saved in
text format.

< End of description >

Furthermore I found a difference of the number recognition in the category
Percent between English and German. I will add an attachment where differences
are marked in red. I think it's not really a bug but I do not believe, that's
intended.
Hint: In English a dot is used as decimal mark and a comma is used as thousands
separator. In German it 's exactly the other way round.

Another interesting thing: If you type in a “1” in a cell with the category
Date the content changes to “1899-12-31”. First I thought, that's strange, why
does it not begin with 1900-01-01? Here is the story to this point:

I agree with Emir Sarı. For Mac OS X, the default setting should be off. As a
long-time Mac OS user, I am used to see icons in menus only in special cases
(e.g. in a “Recently used items” menu), or in childish applications ...

And I don’t think that the icons make our complex menus easier to comprehend
etc. IMHO this is a matter of habit, too. While people which are used to icons
in menus say that the menus are easier to use *with* icons, I have to confess
that I am really confused by the LibO menus when the icons are visible, and can
use them much easier *without* icons.

Therefore we should honour the OS/desktop default settings.

PS: And this is a UI enhancement request, not a bug ;-)

Well, it would be very helpful if was possible to rename one of the two

prevent that he/she recognizes the difference of them ...

Please open a new bug report for it. Fixed bugs should not be hijacked for
other bug reports. The original problem is fixed so your problem is a new bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50746] UI: Under customize Edit menu options: 2 "paste special" options, and no "paste unformatted text" option

2012-12-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50746

1 paste special is the uno:PasteSpecial-command.
The other is uno:InsertContents-command.

They are 2 different commands with the same name. I'm not sure however what to
rename 1 of those to to make them differ.

Another thing: in description I told:
- notice it didn't retain the user defined
- notice it didn't record the filename you gave
I must add, that when dialog window shows ssh location, no directory or file
are displayed (whereas there are some)

Perhaps everything is linked?
