[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58275] Install fails if .NET Framework 4.0 (Client) is not present

2012-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58275

I have Windows Vista Home Premium with SP2
A few months back, I had removed .Net 4.0 and retained only .Net 3.5 SP1
With only .Net 3.5 SP1, LO 4.0 beta did not install and I ran into the error
message.

After downloading and installing .Net 4.0 client framework, I was able to
install LO 4.0 beta1, using custom install method.

You can close this bug.

This _regression_ bug began from 3.4.* and it completely blocks the possibility

use LO 3.3.4 to edit them.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58282] New: FORMATTING: Auto-correcting spelling and capitalizing of a word at the same time doesn't work.

2012-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58282

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58282
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FORMATTING: Auto-correcting spelling and capitalizing
of a word at the same time doesn't work.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: panic...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.0.beta1
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: Example: The word 'isnt' gets flagged as wrong. Once set
to auto-correct to isn't, it works properly. However, if the word is used to
start a sentence like 'isnt it nice out?', it only auto-corrects the spelling,
not the capitalization: 'isn't it nice out?'
Steps to reproduce:
1. type any word that contains an apostrophe, but leave it out, When the
word is flagged, choose to auto-correct it withe the apostrophe in it.
2. Try the word in the middle of a sentence and see that it auto-corrects
properly.
3. Try the word at the beginning of a sentence without capitalizing it or
adding the apostrophe: the pgm auto-corrects the spelling, but not the
capitalization.

Current behavior:
Auto-corrects only spelling of word.
Expected behavior:
Should auto-correct spelling AND capitalization.

Operating System: Windows XP

In Impress/Draw it works – with some hickups:
* only Alt-– and Alt–+ work, Alt-0 does nothing;
* it doesn't work immediately after opening a file, you have to click the

* when editing text, it doesn't work either.

I guess having a FreeBSD tinderbox image would really help here. If we're only
very infrequently compiling on that platform then no doubt it breaks regularly.
We have hardware to run that tinderbox - all we need is a system image. If
someone is willing to invest the time to create a system image of FreeBSD that
has the necessary pre-requisites to compile LibreOffice, then maintaining that
slave is something we're happy to do of course.

Wow - what a sucky bug in Microsoft's infrastructure. Is there no way we can
defeat it (for this fairly minor piece of .Net integration code that almost

I wonder, could we detect the wrong SDK and simply turn off that .Net
integration in the installer, or even default to turning it off in extremis for
Beta2 ? ...

But paragraph property applicable for whole paragraph only. On screenshot from

is Character style, not a paragraph.

And another question: may be Basic Macro which changes style or formatting for
all entries in document will be useful? As temporary workaround at least.

We have another report of this on FreeBSD IIRC - can we get an strace of

An:

strace -f -s 256 -o /tmp/slog spadmin
gzip /tmp/slog

and attach it would be really helpful.

Thanks ! :-)

It does indeed look like an odd word ;-) Perhaps my google is customised for me
too much somehow, but anyhow - putting 'bibisect' there gives me a #1 hit of:

http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/HowToBibisect

Quite a big download is required, but then hopefully with only a dozen tests we
can get very close to the one patch out of tens of thousands that causes the
issue - which makes it immeasureably easier to fix (normally).

Thanks !

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58231] Retain import support for legacy binary StarOffice files: 1.0 -> 5.0

2012-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58231

Thanks for contributions and discussion on this bug. Of course, I understand
the issue lots of old code in LibreOffice which is needed for the support of
the old binary StarOffice files. However, the main question is, what happens to
users of LibreOffice 4.0 who want to import .sdw or .sdc files? I assume that
the file conversion tool in 4.0 will not be able to convert .sdw/.sdc, right?

Suggestion: It should be still possible to select .sdw /.sdc in the
"file"->"open" dialogue, followed by a window explaining the options for the
user: a. To use a version of LibreOffice < version 4, b. to use the online
conversion tool xyz .

This would be really helpful for users and I am sure that there is a conversion
web service existing which actually uses OpenOffice/LibreOffice in its back
end?!?

of course, it would be great if you could do the bibisecting. But for non-geeks
it's a challenge, I think you should ask for assistance on the qa mailing list.

2012-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58283

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58283
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: .desktop files miss translations -> LibO descriptions
untranslated in application menu
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: mihh...@gmail.com
  Hardware: All
Status: NEW
   Version: 3.6.0.0.beta3
 Component: framework
   Product: LibreOffice

The .desktop files in /opt/lodev3.6/share/xdg (from package "lodev3.6" or
"libreoffice3.6") only contain localisation sections for Zulu, no other
translations are included for some reason.

Also, the Unity strings "New Document", "New Spreadsheet", etc. (which are
included in the same files) are untranslated (or even untranslatable).

Confirmed with DEB x86 and x86-64; the Windows build seems to be unaffected.
Can't test the Mac builds.

This was a regression in 3.6.0.0.beta3 (I just tested, 3.6.0.0.beta2 still
seemed to have everything it should) and the problem is still present in
3.6.4.3.

(I noticed this only now because previously I had the desktop-integration from
3.5 branch installed.)

I can confirm this bug on platform Windows Vista with 4.0 beta1

Note: It is not happening every time, but rather when a new line or new word is
entered and the action attempted.
Test:
1. Create a new document
2. Write a word in CAPS and use Shift+F3
Expected Rotation: CAPS->caps->Caps->CAPS
Actual Rotation: CAPS->Caps->CAPS->caps->Caps->CAPS

2012-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49287

We didn't kill lpr support.

for me...
a) on 3.5 with default configure-time flags, launching spadmin and ticking
"disable cups" and starting LibO I get the "generic printer" and it all appears
to "just work"

b) note that as a normal user, NOT root, I can launch 3.5 spadmin fine and
check that disable box without any problem for my own personal settings

The spadmin problem may be something like it can't find the correct user config
dir to write its changes to (~/.config/libreoffice/3/user/psprint/psprint.conf
for me). So running spadmin under strace -f/truss and attaching the log here is
something concrete someone with that problem on FREEBSD can do

> Therefore it is Character style, not a paragraph.

You are confusing document presentation with document structure. The aim of the
RFC is to create a *presentation* attribute where a paragraph is followed by a
space not a line change. This attribute must not change the document structure
itself, or lots of things (indexes, etc) will break.

Document with paragraphs having round corners

This document contains round corners in paragraphs by using svg picture as
background. It will be possible to write Basic Macro for automating this
process. But it will not help much with exporting to HTML. Writer not even
allows placing pictures behind of text.
And it will be helpful for developing to have well formatted HTML page with
round corners as example of how it should be.

Hello

I confirm with windows 7 64bits and:
- Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 2ef5aff)
- Version 4.0.0.0.beta1+ (Build ID: 58889b2f592658a6c68ed13fe604fbbe7eaad96)

More information

A. Was already the same with OOo (not a regression)
B. We have the same issue with the "Object catalog" in EDI

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start LibO
2. Tools> Macros> Organize macros> Basic> Edit (EDI opens)
3. Open help (F1)
4. Change back to EDI
5. Display Object catalog if not (click on the tool in standard toolbar)

Help is listed in the catalog, item:
vnd.sun.star.help://sbasic

See attached screenshot (HelpInNavigator.png )

In Writer's context, we can wonder if it is a bug or not: Help is here
considered a document.

In contrast, in EDI's context, this can be nothing but a bug because the
purpose of the catalog is to list macros.

Regards
Pierre-Yves

2012-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I'm using LibreOffice 3.6.4.3 under Win XP and I've got the same problem.

.ODS documents with conditional formatting created with and working OK in LibO
3.5 don't show the conditional formatting when opened in 3.6.3.4

After adding conditional formatting again to the document, it seems that using
"save" doesn't work.

Conditional formatting is saved only when using "save as" and using a different
filename.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58231] Retain import support for legacy binary StarOffice files: 1.0 -> 5.0

2012-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58231

Gerry - we have adding a dummy filter for this that warns the user with some
helpful pointer on our TODO for 4.0.

On the other hand it's not getting done - so if you want to jump in and hack on
that - it'd be much appreciated.

I can reproduce this bug in Libo 4 (Version 4.0.0.0.beta1 (Build ID:
87906242e87d3ddb2ba9827818f2d1416d80cc7)
Win 7 32bits sp1

The interesting in this bug I have seen :
- save Adocument on desktop, dubble-clic on it to open, Clic On pdf => crash

Workaround :
- Open Libo first, File-open Adocument, clic on pdf => OK !

So I think there is a little difference with the opening methods :-/
Hope that's could help to see where is the problem.

Yves.

2012-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54627

You're right it seems to be nearly impossible to create a document with the
same behaviour - I even removed any content from the document, saved it, added
one heading 1 and one heading2, and everything worked fine.
But the problem here still is, that it is a document which was created with
OpenOffice, and now can't be further edited by LibreOffice. And I don't think
we can tell our users here to remove any content, save the document, and then
insert the text again. Especially, as the error isn't too obvious, but is
visible only after you save and reload your document.
(btw, eymux has left our department and probably won't track this bug any more,
I'm one of his successors here)

!It's the same problem in OpenOffice 3.4 and the same problem under Ubuntu
12.04 and 12.10!

Problem description:
The gradients I see are not the gradients I chose before restarting the
software.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Add a box and fill it with a custom gradient.
2. Add another box with another gradient.
3. Add more boxes with other gradients.
4. Add some boxes (maybe on other slides) with gradients from step 1 to 3.
5. Save the document.
6. Close the document
7. Restart.
8. Open the document again.
9. If you have saved all of the gradients and if you are using Ubuntu, they
will be shown in the box where you can choose the colour for the area, but in
the boxes you have added in your document there will be sometimes another
gradient than you chose before! If you didn't save all your gradients and/or
use Windows, the false gradient will be shown in the 'area-filling'.
Current behavior:
A false gradient is used.
Expected behavior:
The gradient I chose is used.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54485] EDITING: cut / paste of a line of data doesn't remove the selected lines

2012-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54485

Hello

The feature (move a line) already exists:
1. Select the line (click on the header)
2. Move the cursor on the line (not on the header) and move the selection to
the destination by pressing the Alt key

Regards
Pierre-Yves

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58303] New: Formatting

2012-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58303

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58303
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: Formatting
  Severity: minor
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: peter.b...@talktalk.net
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

In Writer, when producing Address Labels, click 'File', 'New' and then
'Labels'. This opens a new window. One defines a label eg. Avery J8160.
Clicking on the tab 'Format' one sees the values of the label position and
dimensions. The problem lies in that it ignores the value in 'Horizontal
Pitch' and uses the value in 'Width' instead. This caused a few wasted sheets
before coming up with this workround.

Thanks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54485] EDITING: cut / paste of a line of data doesn't remove the selected lines

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54485

Agree that this is not terribly logical & agree with Eric's
(bureautiquelibre's) proposed solution.

One of the caveats here is presumably making sure that formulae stay intact,
even as a line is removed* – so I guess this improvement might be some work...

* Simple example: you have a formula SUM(A1:A4) in cell A5 and then delete row
3. The formula will now be in A4... to make sure the formula is still valid,
you'd have to correct it to SUM(A1:A3).

Disregard the last part of my comment. I should have tried what happen when
removing a row currently – and formulas are corrected as expected. So, I don't
really see any reason not do this.

(Setting major => normal, because while annoying, it's not related to data loss
etc.)

crap, there is no work around after all on our side, it's got to be fixed on
the Duden side. :-(

Either by...

a) ensuring that the exception thrown from
Duden::ContextMenuInterceptor::notifyContextMenuExecute conforms to
the exception signature of...

notifyContextMenuExecute( const css::ui::ContextMenuExecuteEvent& aEvent )
throw (::com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException) = 0;

i.e. they can only throw ::com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException from their
implementation of notifyContextMenuExecute

or...

b) (if they are using true gcc and not clang) then with an additional
-fno-enforce-eh-specs option to gcc

I have tried bot a recent master (2012-12-07, debug build) and 3.6.4.3
Linux 32-bit. In each I opened an existing .odb and created a new
one, connecting to a PostgreSQL with a few small tables. In each case
I was able to see the contents of a couple of tables by double-clicking
on the table name. No errors were evident.

@sk8tesgre8 ...

Can you please give us details about your system and about your
database and--particularly--a blow-by-blow description of what you did
in LibreOffice?

Terry.
