I think the problem is the anti-aliasing for the graphics, mainly the grids
which are strangely made.
To workaround: menu Tools Options LibreOffice View uncheck Use
Anti-Aliasing (under Graphics Output).

Tested with Version 4.0.0.0.beta1+ (Build ID:
789ec89fceb949eee482ecb7731a3d7b1ac0660)

I do not have a MS-Windows version at hand to check if Anti-Aliasing for
graphics output is enabled.

Best regards. JBF

Thanks for reporting this bug!

I can confirm this bug, I either can't select the whole table. To select the
whole table, you normally go to the upper left corner of the table, until you
get a diagonal arrow. If you click then on your left mouse button, you select
the header instead of the full table.

Tested with Mac OSX 10.8.2; LibreOffice 3.6.4.3 and LibreOffice 4.0 beta 1;

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54456] Open of a existing ODBC connection I got a strange screen

Hello,

On the Apple I have Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 2ef5aff), so that is the
last version.
How can I see which version of Java (run-time I supose) I have ?

ODBC doesn't give that problem on the Apple, but with ODBC, I still get
strange behavior. like:

While I have:

267 records in the database table and I think it is also a Java problem.
I don't have this problem on the Windows machine.
I did use the normal installation of a downloaded .dmg
Also it could be strange to have different versions of Java.
I have also NetBeans 7.3 Beta on this machine.

Julien I work also on a Dutch version of OS X version 10.8, so it is
hard to find
the directory's and I didn't find a user profile on the place you mentioned.

Hopefully it gives you some ideas about this problem.
I give computerlessons to 55 Plus (elderly) people and I would like
to give them an alternative for Windows Office, also with Base in
place of Access.

By the way I have installed Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 2ef5aff) on Windows
and the problem is solved I think, so you can close the bug 54456,
because the
problems with the strange screen are gone on both machines.

You all are very helpfull to try to solve this problem and I would like
help you all to make LibreOffice a good alternative.

Thanks in advance

--- Comment #1 from Korrawit Pruegsanusak detective.conan.1...@gmail.com ---
Thanks. We have two problems here. I tested with Windows 7 x64.

== First Problem ==
The Fit to frame option doesn't work.
This is reproducible with both 3.6.3.2 and 4.0.0.0.beta1.

Steps: see comment 0, steps 1-6.
Expected: text in textbox will fit to frame
Actual: nothing happened

Ah, I found that this is the old unfixed bug 34467 = we will *not* tackle with
this issue in this ticket.

== Second Problem ==
The Shift+Ctrl+F8 doesn't work.
This is reproducible with 4.0.0.0.beta1, but *not* in 3.6.3.2 = regression

Steps: see comment 0, steps 1, 2, and 7.
Expected: text in textbox will *not* appear outside textbox region.
Actual: text in textbox appears outside textbox region.

We will deal with this bug in this ticket.
Change status to NEW. Adjust subject.

Fred Bakker:
So trying to understand your feedback.
- You had some problem with Windows but with last version they're gone.
- You still have problems with MacOs but don't know where to find LO directory
profile
- Moreover, you don't know how to see Java version.

So first, I update platform to Macos All.
About profile, the important thing is this one:
For Mac users:

/Users/user name/Library/Application Support/libreoffice/3/user

Important: These folders are hidden, you need to enable the option from your
operative system to see hidden folders in order to see them.

About Java, just launch LO then go to Menu Options, then LibreOffice/Java and
take a look to the version used.

Don't hesitate to come on IRC #libreoffice on freenode.net and talk about this
behaviour.

Desktop and radeon graphics driver for chipset ATI Radeon 9250 5960 (AGP)
(Xorg.0.log).

When opening any ODT document, scrolling destroys the page with vertically
repeated stripes, see attached screenshot. Sometimes those stripes overlap, and
the origin changes with every scrolling. Writer is totally unusable with this.
With 3.5.7, all those documents opened and scrolled flawlessly on the same
system.

We have so many lots of descriptions for various different problems, existing
or not, XLS relate or not in the comments here, it's more or less impossible to
follow the discussion - its some horror.

Please do some tests to problems related to Markus' Fix 2012-09-18 18:21:39
UTC, and then we should close this Bug, except a backport to 3.6 is planned.

For anything else not 100% related to the original report please submit new
bugs (if not already reported), that's the only way ot keep overview.

@Markus:
Is it planned to backport the fix to 3.6?

FindReplace dialog

Under Ubuntu 12.04, there are undersized elements in some dialogs, I noticed
them especially in Find bar and in FindReplace dialog (affects Calc, Writer,
Impress, ...).

Besides the appearance it has a negative impact on readability - see attached
FindReplace dialog where searching for word Wyoming - letter g is
difficult to read, letter y looks like v. See also cropped check boxes and
radio buttons. Also text in Less Options button (or More Options button) is
vertically misaligned, compared to Help and Close buttons.

Libreoffice installation is from DEB files available at libreoffice.org, but
the same appears with Libreoffice installation from Ubuntu repositories.

John, how did you install LibreOffice? May I suggest you to reset your user
profile, following http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile and try to
open the file again? If resetting helps, could you please attach your old user
profile here?

Anyway, I'm not sure where is the user profile for this 4.0beta1 ... If you
install in parallel, look in program/bootstraprc file for UserInstallation
line. But if you didn't install in parallel, maybe it's in ~/.config/lodev ...
(?)

3.6.2.2 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:2))).

Works with other versions of Libreoffice i tried on Ubuntu, esp. on version

Seems to be an Ubuntu bug...

I know from qa-mailinglist what reporter wanted to report:

When anchored to “cell” by hand, than save to XLS and than open the spreadsheet
again, the pictures/drawings are anchored to “page” again.

[Reproducible] with parallel installation of LOdev 4.0.0.0.beta1 - GERMAN
UI / German Locale [Build ID: 87906242e87d3ddb2ba9827818f2d1416d80cc7)]

1. Open new Calc document from LibO Start Center
2. Insert a bullet from gallery
3. Anchor it to Page
4. Save document.odt and document.xls
5. Close and reopen both documents
ok: in ods bullet is anchored to cell
NOT ok: in ods bullet is anchored to page

OOo 2.0 and LibO 3.3.3 show bullet in document.xls anchored to Cell, so it's
a FILEOPEN problem and a regression.

Already broken with 3.6.4.3, I will do some more research later.

Problem description:
Writer does send an AT-SPI focus messages when the window is first activated,

Hello,

Yes, that is correct; I don't have the ODBC problem anymore, also the
connection
with a MySQL database did work.

I did try the command below /User..
I got this:

First I treid to do cd
Second I did ls of Library which was found and you can see what's inside
The last one was a ls of a part of the mentioned path, but there is no
LibreOffice inside.

At the Java subject I found this and I suppose that this is what you are
looking for.

Which I found under Preferences and not under Options, but the heading
is Options, so it's ok.

I did connect and found

which is not the correct one (I was downloading 3.6.4), but I got this

Don't hesitate to come on IRC #libreoffice on freenode.net and talk about this
 behaviour.

I haven't installed any LO by sources. But I tested this behavior with LO
3.6.4.3 and LODev 4.0.0.0 beta1. No difference in the behavior since LO 3.5.0
RC1.

Don't know, who had set the version to 3.6. I have corrected this to the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58373] New: Info if the current font is missing or not has been removed from Format Character Font dialog

2012-12-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58373

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58373
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Info if the current font is missing or not has been
removed from Format Character Font dialog
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: jbf.fa...@sud-ouest.org
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.0.beta1
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Steps to reproduce:
1/ open an existing document in LO 3.6.x
2/ select some text and do Format Character - Font tab
== you can read the following text The same font will be used on both your
printer and your screen just above the preview, if the font is installed on
your system.
If the font is not installed on your system, you can read a text saying that
the font is not installed and another similar font will be used instead.

Do the same with LO 4.0 beta1 : there is no information text above the preview,
so it is impossible to know if the font used to render the text is the right
font.

Tested with LO 4.0 beta1 and LO 4.0 beta1+ (Build ID:
789ec89fceb949eee482ecb7731a3d7b1ac0660) under Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64

Confirmed with Version 4.0.0.0.beta1 (Build ID:

But this only happens in Writer.
I've also tested with Draw and Impress where the behavior is like one expect
(as done in the other text editor).

I think this should be changes the way you described it should be. It's what
the user expect and it should be the same in all LO-applications.

I've also tested this use case in Calc. There you can't even past the object if
you have selected another object (nothing happens). You can only past if you
select a cell only.

Time to browse to the end of the table with over 3 rows is now 1:20
minutes. Much better than nearly 6:00 minutes I have tested for LO 3.6.* here:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51976#c16

But when I start my LO 3.3.4, this version needs only 3 seconds to reach the

--- Comment #10 from Julien Nabet serval2...@yahoo.fr ---
Fred: you're mixing Win and MacOs elements.
You must seperate both subjects to make it clear.

1) On Windows
If you have still some remaining problems. Try a clean install, ie:
- uninstall LO
- clean your Windows registry with free tool (like ccleaner)
- rename or delete (if you didn't customize anything) your LO directory profile
Before Vista: \Documents and Setting\user name\Application
Data\libreoffice\3\user
From Vista: %appdata%\libreoffice\3\user
- install last 3.6.4 version

On Windows, what's your Java version (you can go to add/uninstall softs to
know it)

2) On Mac
It seems you have several versions.
So idem:
- uninstall every LO versions
- rename or delete your LO directory profile
/Users/user name/Library/Application Support/libreoffice/3/user
- install last 3.6.4 version

On Windows, what's your Java version

Last thing: please, answer by adding a comment to the bugtracker here
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54456
and not by answering the email automatically sent by bugzilla
And again: distinguish the problems and actions you did on 2 platforms.
