[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59014] New: EXTENSIONSWEBSITE: Search with LibO Version criteria does not show all available Extensions

2013-01-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59014

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59014
CC: webs...@global.libreoffice.org
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: EXTENSIONSWEBSITE: Search with LibO Version criteria
does not show all available Extensions
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de
   URL: http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: WWW
   Product: LibreOffice

Steps how to reproduce:
1. click URL link above
2. Query for 'All cat. - LibO 4.0 - Highest rated - LanguageTool search'
   Expected: Will be found
   Actual: Not found

Results for all Version criteria:
* 4.0: Not found!!!
* 3.6: Found
* 3.5: Found
* 3.4: Not found!!!
* 3.3: Not found!!!

Now check http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/languagetool
You will see that
* Version 2.0 is available for LibO 3.5 ... 4.0
* Version 1.7 is available for LibO 3.3 ... 3.5

So all Not found results are not correct.

Also other Extensions are affected.

HTML Meta redirect test

Hi.

It seems that LibreOffice Writer has stopped following META redirects. At least
Version 3.6.1.2 does not do it, while lower versions on Debian Linux (higest is
3.5.4.2) do follow redirects.

Unfortunately this is an important feature because it is needed for the _only_
way, to create a webdav editable link.

See
http://www.heute-morgen.de/site/03_Web_Tech/60_CMS_with_WebDAV_and_Openoffice.shtml
for details.

If this has been removed on purpose this is a request for a configuration
option to restore the old behaviour, maybe on a per site basis.

The behaviour can be reproduced by opening the attached file with LibreOffice
Writer.

Sincerely,
Joachim

--- Comment #22 from Rafael DeGennaro rdegenn...@earthlink.net ---
I am a relative newbie, but in the spirit of generating possible ideas or
questions, I offer the following two facts FWIW, neither of which relate to
LibreOffice:

1) I changed the hostname immediately after installing Linux Mint 14. I changed
it in both places and followed instructions exactly. It seems correct now.
Another guy experiencing this bug did not change his hostname.

2) Print to file: Results always go to /home/username
see post here: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=47t=120962 that has
received no response.

When I print to file on this same system, it won't let me select a folder
through the other dropdown. This always worked well in Linux Mint 12 and 13.
The normal procedure that I've followed for years is: Go print to file. Then
save in folder: other and browse to a folder. Then create a file name, and
print. Now it lets me do that, but then always puts the file in the
/home/username directory, ignoring what I specified.

I've spent hours Googling forums, but only find people trying to change the
default folder for print to PDF, which is different.

(Although I'm a newbie, I've installed Linux Mint about 5-6 times now
successfully, and am methodical and not going a lot of other things during the
install.)

Hi Werner, I received you .ppt file by private mail. I promise I won't diffuse
it over the net.

The bug you describe in LibO 3.5.7 is NOT REPRODUCIBILE in LibO 3.6.4 and LibO
4.0 beta2+ using Windows Vista 64bit. I can open that file with both versions.

I suggest to upgrade to LibO 3.6.4 since the 3.5.x branch is dead (there will
not be any 3.5.8 release).

In the meantime you may test your file with a portable version of LibO 3.6.4
(no installatione required) that you can download from here:
http://www.winpenpack.com/en/download.php?view.1338

I'm gonna mark this bug report ad RESOLVED WORKSFORME.

feel free to reopen it if you still experience that issue with LibO 3.6.4

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58539

--- Comment #54 from Markus Mohrhard markus.mohrh...@googlemail.com ---
 Actually that's what I'd come up with, which should indeed fix the crash
 itself. But the concern here is that why the matrix become empty? The
 matrix there should at least contain one element, so neither the column nor
 row dimension should become zero there (it should be a 1 by 1 matrix, not
 empty matrix).

 That's what I meant to say in Comment 28.

Ah ok. But in the end we either need this patch or we can remove the if clause
and ignore it. Right now every time we reach this PushIllegalArgument() call we
crash later.

No way to close contour window

I used Edit contour on Ubuntu and could not find a way to close the Window.
No menu was there to close, nothing in toolbar, no Close button on the window
status bar.
Restarting LibreOffice and Opening any document automatically re-opens the
Contour window, hiding 2/3 of the main LibreOffice window and making using of
LibreOffice impossible.
I could get rid of it by reducing the main LibreOffice window, and unchecking
Format/Wrap/Edit Contour menu.

This workaround is pretty difficult to guess for a normal user which would
feel that LibreOffice is broken.

This might also be an Ubuntu bug in the way the Window is handled, but in any
case, I would suggest that the toolbar of the Edit Contour window contain a
Close button, to improve usability

When opening an .odt file on a CIFS filesystem (share from a Windows computer),
an error dialog saying General Error appears and the file is not opened.

From gdb, with catch throw, I see:

(gdb) up
#6  0x7f71569b3a02 in ucbhelper::cancelCommandExecution
(eError=com::sun::star::ucb::IOErrorCode_ACCESS_DENIED,
rArgs=uno::Sequence of length 3 = {...}, xEnv=empty uno::Reference,
rMessage=general error during transfer, xContext=
uno::Reference to {
  com::sun::star::uno::XInterface = {
_vptr.XInterface = 0x7f71416ae130
  }, No data fields}) at
/home/master/src/libreoffice/workdirs/libreoffice-4.0/ucbhelper/source/provider/cancelcommandexecution.cxx:112

and indeed from a shell:

$ cat filename.odt
cat: filename.odt: Permission denied

*but* as soon as I do continue in gdb and click away the error dialog, the
above cat command succeeds!

So it seems LibreOffice somehow tries to open the file twice and keeps itself
from doing it (!) through some kind of lock.

Here's what an strace shows:

8679  lstat(/path/to/filename.odt,  unfinished ...
8679  ... lstat resumed {st_mode=S_IFREG|0600, st_size=32957, ...}) = 0
8550  access(/path/to/filename.odt, F_OK) = 0
8550  lstat(/path/to/filename.odt, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0600, st_size=32957,
...}) = 0
8550  open(/path/to/filename.odt, O_RDWR|O_EXCL) = 65
8550  fstat(65, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0600, st_size=32957, ...}) = 0
8550  fcntl(65, F_SETLK, {type=F_WRLCK, whence=SEEK_SET, start=0, len=0}) = 0

I notice the open is with O_RDWR|O_EXCL. man 2 open says:

 The behavior of O_EXCL is undefined if O_CREAT is not specified.

So LibreOffice should not do that!!!

Then, LibreOffice acquires a fcntl exclusive write-lock on the *whole* file
(len=0 has the special meaning: until the end of the file).

Then it does several consecutive pread calls on the file, several of which are
REDUNDANT:

8550  time(NULL)= 1357298553
8550  time(NULL)= 1357298553
8550  pread(65,

4096

It calls:
 pread(65,, 4096, 0) THREE TIMES
 pread(65,, 4096, 28672) THREE TIMES
 pread(65,, 4096, 32768) TWO TIMES

a bit later:

8550  access(/path/to/filename.odt, F_OK) = 0
8550  access(/path/to/filename.odt, F_OK) = 0
8550  lstat(/path/to/filename.odt, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0600, st_size=32957,
...}) = 0

(two consecutive calls the access()...)

later it creates its lockfile:

8550  open(/path/to/.~lock.filename.odt#, O_RDONLY|O_EXCL) = -1 ENOENT (No
such file or directory)
8550  open(/path/to/.~lock.filename.odt#, O_RDWR|O_CREAT|O_EXCL, 0666) = 69

a few more times access lstat on the file... and finally it opens the file a
second time:

8550  open(/path/to/filename.odt, O_RDONLY) = 68
8550  fstat(68, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0600, st_size=32957, ...}) = 0
8550  open(/tmp/luj8dx80.tmp/luj8dxdw.tmp, O_WRONLY|O_CREAT, 0100600) = 69
8550  pread(68,
PK\3\4\24\0\0\10\0\0\224P$B^\3062\f'\0\0\0'\0\0\0\10\0\0\0mi..., 32767, 0) =
8192
8550  write(69,
PK\3\4\24\0\0\10\0\0\224P$B^\3062\f'\0\0\0'\0\0\0\10\0\0\0mi..., 8192) = 8192
8550  pread(68, 0x7fff93aa7850, 24765, 8192) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)
550  close(68) = 0

I'm unsure why the first pread call there succeeds, since the fcntl call locks
the whole file; maybe this is some bug/imperfection in the Linux CIFS FS or the
Windows file server lock this fcntl() call maps to. Anyway, the second pread
call fails, as should be the case, because of the fcntl lock.

LibreOffice then reads from and writes to the file from the first (R/W) fd

(In reply to comment #54)
  Actually that's what I'd come up with, which should indeed fix the crash
  itself. But the concern here is that why the matrix become empty? The
  matrix there should at least contain one element, so neither the column nor
  row dimension should become zero there (it should be a 1 by 1 matrix, not
  empty matrix).

  That's what I meant to say in Comment 28.

 Ah ok. But in the end we either need this patch or we can remove the if
 clause and ignore it. Right now every time we reach this
 PushIllegalArgument() call we crash later.

Sure. We do need this change. There is no dispute about it.

We just also need to at least find out why the matrix is empty since that may
mean there is a problem lurking elsewhere..

--- Comment #6 from Joseph Brown 1st...@gmail.com ---
I experienced similiar issues when I pasted data from a web page into a
spreadsheet.

The numbers were stored as labels. Although they appeared as numbers, the data
were actually labels.

The numbers may be stored as text values. While the scale mode is automatic,
that works fine, which was how it worked in the spreadsheet.

When switching to manual scaling, the fact that the actual data (nubmers) are
stored as labels, it becomes an issue.

In this example, there is a colum of data labels which is not used, but
contains labels. That may be the source of the issue.

Converting from one chart type to another, may have intersperced labels with
number data or possibly numbers are being stored as labels.

exiting Libre Office I open the document and the word is shown again underlined
in red color though previously added to the dictionary. After right-clicking an
arbitrary word the dictionary then seems to recognise the already added words

More generally, want to be able to watch expressions that include functions, in
scope vars and values from the object model. For example the following should
show true, false, type error?, in addition to out of scope where
appropriate: oSheet.Cells(r,c).value = 3 .

Will look at this while working on 57307.

Classification: Unclassified

Created attachment 72515
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=72515action=edit
Example of the problem

Problem description: when drawing using the draw tools in writer the default
colours do not all match

Steps to reproduce (A):
1. Open a new writer document.
2. Create a rectangle using the 'rectangle' tool from the 'drawing' toolbar.
3. Create a rectangle using the 'basic shapes → rectangle' tool from the
'drawing' toolbar.

Current behaviour: the shapes created do not have the same line colour or the
same fill colour.

Expected behaviour: the shapes should have matching line colour and fill
colour, so that it is easy to produce a quick drawing with all parts matching.

Additional observation: the text is centred in one and left justified in the
other by default.

Additional observation: when a rectangle is selected it has 8 little squares to
allow the size to be changed; these are different colours (blue/green) for the
two rectangles.

Problem description:
A. When a rectangle is created using the 'rectangle' button from the draw
toolbar the line colour is not displayed on the formatting toolbar when the
rectangle is selected.
B. When a rectangle is created using the 'basic shapes - rectangle' option
from the draw toolbar the line colour is not displayed on the formatting
toolbar and neither is the area style/filling, when the rectangle is selected.

Steps to reproduce (A):
A1. Open a new writer document.
A2. Create a rectangle using the 'rectangle' tool from the 'drawing' toolbar.

A: Current behaviour: the 'line colour' box is blank or does not update.

A: Expected behaviour: the 'line colour' box should display the current line

I tried resetting my user profile, but it did not change anything. I've
attached a few test files (you might have to change the links on your machine
to match your directory structure)

Basically, what you can do is open test.ods, then modify test.csv to something
else. In 3.6 test.ods would update once you hit file-reload. This no longer
happens in 4.0

I figured out the reason for the problem, sorry that I didn't posted it here.
I noticed that this Problem happened only if Firefox was opened at the same
time, as I tried to copy and paste some text in LibreOffice. If Firefox was
closed, this bug didn't happen. From my report I can see, that I used Firefox
16 at that moment. Sorry, but I can't say, which Version of LibreOffice I used
at that time, but it had to be the most actuall version at the moment of the
bug report creation.
With the newest version of LibreOffice and the actual Firefox Beta I don't have
troubles of this type.

While not being obvious this is just a duplicate and my fix for Bug 58863 will
also fix this issue.

Please test the cached value import a bit more. There might be more hidden
problems that we did not find yet.

I checked that one.
Might be related, but not a DUP! That sample document can be opened after saved

I agree, if someone is fixing one of these 2, it might be appropriate to check
the other one, too.

--- Comment #25 from Reto Diener reto_die...@bluewin.ch ---
It seems I have precisely the same problem within my environment:
LibreOffice 3.6.4.3 on Windows XP (Intel Core i3, 2.5GHz, 4GB Memory)

I tested with several version of Java6 RT 6.06, 6.022, 6.038 (latest). No
difference at all.

All ended with the same result:
Loading of a simple table containing about 4700 records goes quick (1s)
(about 70 records are loaded)
Loading of the rest of the table (jumping to the last record) goes terribly
slow (45s)!

See attached test-db (with embedded HSQL 1.8)

I tested additionally with a MySQL-DB via JDBC (from Oracle). Again: NO EFFECT.
Same performance problem!

Inspecting the task-monitor:
One of the 4 cores goes up to 100% (so 25% totally). There is no IO-activity
for at least 30 seconds (only memory consumption is slowly increasing).

By the way: Switching to Ubuntu 12.04 LT (same hardware) with latest
LibreOffice installed: Again, the same problem

Would be very cool to have a fix for that. Really!

Many thanks
Reto Diener, Switzerland

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59034] New: EDITING AutoCorrect's Replace while modifying existing text works only for Default style

2013-01-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59034

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59034

   Summary: EDITING AutoCorrect's Replace while modifying

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mini...@poczta.onet.pl
  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

In Writer there are two checkboxes for each entry. They are labeled [M] and
[T].

Apparently, [M] is for do it when user chooses Format → AutoCorrect → Apply
from menu.

BUT it does work only for paragraphs with Default style. So I wasted last two
hours trying to figure it out, until I happened to read this old OOo forum
topic: http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7t=11777p=55154

At least, please state clearly in documentation that autocorrection elements
with [m] checked will work only for Default style. I have read help files and
LibreOffice Writer guide chapter about AutoCorrection. Neither has mentioned
that.

As larger issue: why does it work only on Default style, anyway?
Choosing Format → AutoCorrect → Apply from menu will change style from Default
to Text body. What is the point of having menu option that will work only once
for paragraph (which may be modified later)?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59036] New: EDITING AutoCorrect: Remove blank paragraphs will work for all styles, other [M] options only for Default

2013-01-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Default
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mini...@poczta.onet.pl

 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 72524
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=72524action=edit
Test document

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attached document.
1. Go into Tools → Autocorrect options → Options → check Remove blank
paragraphs. Ensure that both checkboxes are checked by Correct TWo INitial
CApitals and Capitalize first letter of every sentence.
3. From menu, Choose Format → AutoCorrect → Apply

Result:
default paragraphs will be removed. Initial capitals and sentences starting
with minuscule will not be corrected.

This gives impression that [M] autocorrect in Writer is not working
consistently. Some options will be applied only for paragraphs with Default
style, while others (namely: Remove blank paragraphs) will be applied for all
paragraphs, despite their style.

Obviously these options should work consistently, either only for Default style
paragraphs, or for all of them.

I am using Debian testing, amd64, LibreOffice 3.6.4 from Debian (experimental)
repository.

It last over 1 minute to reach the last row. Better than before, but not really

Thanks for looking into this Marios. It looks like the default setting for
that option is Never recalculate which may be preferable for formulas that
reference in-workbook values but definitely not (IMHO) for ones that reference
other files. Would this also affect worksheet links then between ODS files? I
think those get used by a lot of (power) users.

I also filed a similar bug about DDEs breaking after loading. Maybe it's due
to the same setting? bug 59032

Thanks for the quick answers and the link!

Meantime I have tested with the prerelease LO 4 beta 2 (Windows)

Indeed, the bug seems (almost) gone!
Loading AND scrolling to last record now runs quite fast. both about the same
time (1-2s) [scrolling took at least 40s before]

just by the way. one thing came up while testing with forms:
setting the list length within the preload-trigger did not work (within LO 4):
Sub PreOpenList( event as Object )
   event.Source.FetchSize = 300
End Sub

What you mean with 'Fix mimetype'

I still don't experience your problem. But what I see is another problem. We
have for portugese (Brizilian) pt-br. But other languages are only 2 chars
long. So it is impossible to be able to have both. We should then OR remove the
brazilian or always accept the complete locale otherwise it would be a
nightmare to sort this in LibreOffice.

--- Comment #1 from Joren De Cuyper joren.libreoff...@telenet.be ---
(In reply to comment #0)
 UX guys suggest that slide-jockeys would appreciate the familiar: F5 to
 start the slideshow from the beginning, and Shift-F5 to start from the
 current slide.

 To do that we need to go hack some code:

 officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Accelerators.xcu

 and search for .uno:Presentation.

 We need to add a new name here eg. .uno:PresentationThisSlide next to
 .uno:Presentation.
There is already a SHIFT-F5:

node oor:name=F5_SHIFT oor:op=replace
 prop oor:name=Commandvalue xml:lang=x-no-translateI10N SHORTCUTS -
NO TRANSLATE/value
  value xml:lang=en-US.uno:RestoreEditingView/value
 /prop
/node

What I did (NOT pushed to gerrit right now): I didn't change something here,
but I used this '.uno:RestoreEditingView' in the next steps

 Then we need to add a description of that to:

 officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/OfFuTemporaryfice/UI/DrawImpressCommands.xcu

 so it can be translated.

  node oor:name=.uno:RestoreEditingView oor:op=replace
prop oor:name=Label oor:type=xs:string

  value xml:lang=en-USSlide Show Current Slide/value
/prop
prop oor:name=Properties oor:type=xs:int
  value1/value
/prop
  /node

 Then we need to add an SID:

 sd/inc/sdcommands.h:#define CMD_SID_PRESENTATION
 .uno:Presentation

#define CMD_SID_PRESENTATION.uno:Presentation
#define CMD_SID_PRESENTATIONCURRENT .uno:RestoreEditingView

 Then add this SID to the switch in:

 sd/source/ui/slidesorter/controller/SlsSlotManager.cxx

switch (rRequest.GetSlot())
{
case SID_PRESENTATION:
case SID_PRESENTATIONCURRENT:
case SID_REHEARSE_TIMINGS:
ShowSlideShow (rRequest);
pShell-Cancel();
rRequest.Done();
break;

 and a new case to:

 void SlotManager::ShowSlideShow( SfxRequest rReq)

This is the initial version:
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sd/source/ui/slidesorter/controller/SlsSlotManager.cxx#856

This is what I did (so far)

void SlotManager::ShowSlideShow( SfxRequest rReq)
{
Reference XPresentation2  xPresentation(
mrSlideSorter.GetModel().GetDocument()-getPresentation() );
if( xPresentation.is() )
{
if( ( SID_REHEARSE_TIMINGS != rReq.GetSlot()  SID_PRESENTATIONCURRENT
!= rReq.getSlot() ) )
xPresentation-start(); //start presentation from beginning
elseif( ( SID_REHEARSE_TIMINGS != rReq.GetSlot()
SID_PRESENTATIONCURRENT = rReq.getSlot() ) )
//start presentation from current slide
else
xPresentation-rehearseTimings();

As you can see in the 'initial version' ... Following
http://www.openoffice.org/api/docs/common/ref/com/sun/star/presentation/XPresentation.html
calling the start() function SHOULD start the presentation from the beginning
... but it don't (I tested it with LO 4.1, build today with Ubuntu 12.10 and
Mac OSX). So I don't get it right now, why the presentation start from
current/selected presentation already.

Can you please put me back on rails :-).

Thanks in advance (and thanks for setting up this easyhack).
Kind regards,
Joren

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54638] Too slow to import file with lots of cells with multi-line contents.

--- Comment #7 from Kohei Yoshida kohei.yosh...@suse.de ---
Did some investigation. Basically I haven't really figured out why importing
of multiline contents (which are equivalent of rich-text contents) became so
slow all of a sudden, but what's clear is that, to solve this, we need to
re-write the code that parses and creates rich-text cells (aka edit cells).
The current code uses way over-engineered UNO API for rich-text cells, and it's
not humanly possible to grok that enough to be able to speed things up. It's
just not doable.

The bad news is that this won't make it into 4.0. I'll see if I can tackle
this during the 4.1 development cycle.
