[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 53924] FORMATTING: PRINTING changes text (space get's removed) on OS X 10.7/10.8

--- Comment #21 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk ---
(In reply to comment #20)

Hi Julien,

Alex: about your building problems due to Python3, did you get by about this?

Nope, the problem appears to lie with a command in the build script/makefile
that tries to strip something from the build after invoking xcrun --strip, and
which doesn't exist in the path used by the script. This is with XCode 4.5.2,
the latest available version for OSX 10.8.2. I guess that current OSX builds
are using an earlier version of XCode which doesn't produce this error (or
which drops it silently). The end result is that I still can't build LO on OSX,
so I can only use the daily builds, and AFAIK, they are not debug builds.

Hi Tor,

I actually posted this problem twice to the dev mailing list, the first time on
December 3rd, and then again on December 8th, with the output of the build
failure.

Do you use an English Windows version? Otherwise, this might be due to the
.msi you are using only containing en-US localization, and none of the
contained writing aids data (for English, French, Spanish only) matching your
Windows locale, so none being selected automatically during installation. Have
you tried Custom Setup and explicitly enabling any of the Dictionaries
available under Optional Components?

So the question is: has somebody contacted the Duden people about this bug?
Or who could/should do so? It would be helpful if somebody with some
authoritative appearance, e.g. somebody from TDF, could do that ... Many
Germans are authority-dependent, and will not listen to a simple bug
wrangler like me („Wer sind Sie überhaupt? Da kann ja jeder kommen!“).

My understanding is that Thorsten Behrens (now on cc) has contacts to the
developers of that extension.

This is a regression which by the time version 4.0 is released will be a year
old. It is a very simple bug to duplicate but prevents me from being able to
upgrade from version 3.4.6. I am marking this critical because if LibreOffice
is going to a new major version number a bug of this nature should be fixed
unless it's expected for users to only use LibreOffice for trivial documents.

This is related to the bug #56270. The DOCX import/export of formulas newer
worked reliably. I actually do not any difference when I save and open the test
file in ODT by Lo-3.6.3 or LO-4.0. You results on Lubuntu are confusing. I
wonder if there is any regression at all. Such bugs should not block the
release = lowering the severity a bit.

Anyway, Miklos or Lubos, could you please have a look at the formula
import/export and make it working more reliably?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59105] New: Different header for first page

Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: Writer

Hi,

could you please implement first page header functionality for Writer when
using the ODT format?

Microsoft Word 2007 and up have a checkbox, which, if checked, creates a
different header (and perhaps footer) for the first page only (and the last
page if the user wishes, by a different checkbox). This only works when using
the .docx file format, I believe.

I use Linux at home and I cannot hence get a screenshot of Word demonstrating
this feature, but this is an important feature to me.

Regards,

Yannis.

The pivot table functionality is lost when exporting into XLSX also with LO-3.6
and 3.5. So, it is not a regression = can't block the release = lowering the
severity a bit.

Note that the OOXML import/export filters are work in progress. It is being
improved in every LO release.

works on the XLSX import/export.

With server installation of 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID:

Time: 2013-01-04_01:06:01 - ENGLISH UI / German Locale on German WIN7 Home
Premium (64bit) with LO41 Masters User Profile
problem looks like a variant of Bug 43496 - FILEOPEN .doc FORMATTING Allow
TABLE to split ... does not work although checked, but it's a little
difficult to find out reporter's Linux problem with only WIN available...

The problem in reporter's sample also is already visible with LibO 3.3.3 and
AOOo 3.4, so inherited from OOo.

BTW:
* Similar damages with Lotus Symphony Release 3.0.1 Revision 20120110.2000
* Works nearby perfectly with FreeOffice (Softmaker)

I mark this one as DUP for now

@Marcos Souza:
Please try to bundle screenshots in a DRAW document (or attach a PDF export),
that is more clear than such a lot of screenshots and attach this info
immediately with the report.

Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you find evidence that we have an
independent issue here (for example because the fix for the other bug does not
work for you).

The common part is that some parts of the docs are not showed as in MS Word.
But, in this case, we have a great text area, with some ASCII art that is not
showed. So, I can't say what is different between the docs, because I don't
have MS Word to see what LO is hidden from us in the Bug 43496

the following error messages:

Duden Korrektor 6.0:

file:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Roaming/LOdev/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lu1ngnd1.tmp_/Duden-Korrektor-OpenOffice-2011.oxt/duden_korrektormi.dll

loading component library failed:
file:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Roaming/LOdev/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lu4dwiz.tmp_/DRO-D.oxt/dudenkorrektor.uno.dll

Though, I can confirm that Duden Korrektor 6.0 installs and works fine in
LibreOffice 4 Beta 2 on Linux Mint 13 x86 (Ubuntu 12.04 based). Note, I
remember that I had to install package libstlport4.6-dev to make Duden
Korrektor 6.0 work with LibreOffice 3.5.4 provided by the distribution. That
package is still installed.

With LibreOffice 4.0 Beta 2 I'm observing problems on Windows only.

Thanks,
Stephan Hennig

 pythonloader: after expansion

If that is all of the output, then that is very odd. As protocol is file, it
would need to go into the corresponding if branch in getModuleFromUrl, where
mod would need to be null (as this is the first call to getModuleFromUrl, and
only this function adds to g_loadedComponents), so it would need to call
checkForPythonPathBesideComponent, which would always print something if DEBUG
== 1. Can you add some more print debug statements in your copy of
pythonloader.py to help track down the flow of control that happens for you?

Can you do a few things for us:

1. Attach an actual docx displaying the behavior

2. Change mime types for the documents you attached to the correct ones so it's
easier to view them.

Also I tested a basic case (attached) for Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID:

be fixed already in master (meaning we'll just have to apply a patch to 4.0

referencing deleted row/column

I have cells referencing a previous row/column.
When I delete that referenced row/column then the formula shows #REF!.
I expect it to reference the new row/column which is now its previous one.

I have attached a simple test file. Either delete row 2 or delete column B.
When deleting row 2, I expect D3 (which will then be D2) to show the content of
C1.
When deleting column B, I expect D1 (which will then be C1) to show the content
of the new B1 (which was C1).
Using an absolut reference ($B$1) does not work.

I did not want to write about Lubuntu, because Linux is not my system. It is
possible that it was necessary to remove the old version and install the new

working on confirming the bug but I'm doing a few things first:

1. This is in no way a CRITICAL or HIGHEST priority bug. Critical/Major bugs
are meant primarily for crashes, data loss, loss of basic functionality such as
printing, etc... styles is no basic functionality. Marking appropriately
(normal bug)

2. Highest - Highest is meant for a bug that will affect a large majority of
our users, this bug will not for many reasons (it only happens under specific
situations when using styles which already isn't used by the vast majority of
users). Marking as Normal

3. Changing version, version is used to show the OLDEST release that the bug
behavior appeared, not the latest it has been seen on. You have said that you
first see this on 3.5 so it's a regression in 3.5 which still exists, I will
test the bug on 3.6 right now and mark as NEW if I can confirm.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59109] New: FORMATTING: Conditional Formatting not limited to a selected range that is a subset of range that already has a rule.

2013-01-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59109

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59109
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FORMATTING: Conditional Formatting not limited to a
selected range that is a subset of range that already
has a rule.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: rao...@comcast.net
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.2.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: When trying to set a conditional formatting rule to a
range that is a subset of a range which already has a rule, the second rule
applies to the larger range of the first rule, not the smaller selection.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Set up a range, e.g. B3:B9 with values, e.g. 1 in each cell.
2. Select B3:D9, create a conditional formatting rule (e.g. value = 1) with one
style.
3. Select C3:D9, select Conditional Formatting Conditional Formatting.

Current behavior: The Conditional Formatting dialog box applies to the larger
range of the first rule (B3:D9), not the smaller range currently selected
(C3:D9). A rule created in this box (e.g. value 0) is applied to that larger
range, not the smaller range selected.

Expected behavior: You should be able to create a conditional formatting rule
that applies to the smaller range selected.
More generally, you should be able to create a conditional formatting rule that
applies to a selected range, and only to that selected range, independently of
any rules that apply to different ranges, even if there is overlap of the
ranges.

I am unable to reproduce this with 4.1 master or with 3.6.3.2.

Marking as WFM.

Please try resetting your profile by backing up your configuration folder,
deleting the configuration folder then reopening LibreOffice so you're starting
from a fresh setup. Sometimes during upgrade process things can go wrong with
profiles.

A screenshot of the crashreport of Windows, with the crashed LibreOffice in the
background.

Problem description:
When using Impress and you change the layout using the Master Pages
functionality it works fine. When I tried to go back to the original layout
instead of selecting it I pressed ctrl-z (undo) rapidly. LibreOffice crashed. I
repeated the process and could crash LibreOffice Again

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start Impress (with a new / blank document)
2. Make sure view - task pane is enabled
3. In the task pane select Master Pages and randomly pick at least 6 different
styles so that you presentation changes
4. Now press quickly ctrl-z to undo your style changes.

If ctrl-z is pressed with a normal speed nothing happens.

--- Comment #7 from David genericinet+libreoffice@gmail.com ---
As noted in my one message, I tested this on a CLEAN virtual machine. There was
no previous install of LibreOffice on it. By using the exact instructions I
gave the document will fail to preserve line spacing on every version after
3.5. 3.4.6 works fine. As of LibreOffice 4.0 beta 2 it still fails.
