OK, this makes it unlikely to be due to something that could be solved by
changing the Lightproof.py component in the dict-en extension from active to
passive registration.

LibreOffice has a concept of language, and indeed when typing Hebrew in a blank
document that has "English" or "French" as language, LibreOffice switches to
Hindi. Reopening/confirming (with 3.5.4.2 Debian package)

This can be changed using "Tools->Language->For all text", but it is still a
bug that the autosniffing gets it so spectacularly wrong on a simple case (it
is not like Hindi and Hebrew share the same alphabet...)

Screenshots for missing borders of rightmost column in RTL Table in impress

When we select the whole table and change its orientation from LTR to RTL, the
borders(Top,right, bottom) of the rightmost column is missing/invisible.

How to reproduce.
1. Open Libreoffice impress
2. Insert table by Insert -> Table -> give row column values -> ok
3. Select the whole table & change the orientation from LTR to RTL
4. Now we can notice that the borders of the right most column is
missing/invisible.

> So where LO is coming into this?

LibreOffice is coming into this because the .doc that has the problem is
created by LibreOffice. It is a problem for LibreOffice because it breaks
interoperability with MS Word and thus people cannot use LibreOffice to
exchange documents WRITTEN IN ENGLISH with (Hebrew version) MS Word users.

> The attached document is marked as written in Hindi, so...

The attached ODT file is marked as written in "English (UK)". If the .doc
appears as written in Hindi in MS Word, it is a problem in LibreOffice's .doc
export.

The codebase has a history of confusing Hebrew and Hindi, see e.g.

I also see the file (attachment 72443) identical. But LO-3.6.4 can convert the

start Math_LO, so unknown OLE objects are not converted to OLE Formula Math_LO.

file without conditional format

I looked into it and the problem is that at some point the conditional formats
where screwed up. This creates now problems with the new range based
conditional formats.

The easiest solution is to delete all conditional formats and define them new.
This should fix all problems with the document and even improve the
performance. The new range based solution for conditional formats allows to
deal with large conditional formats easier. Using color scales for these
coloring additionally improve the performance a bit more.

Attached is a clean version of the file.

If you can reproduce the problem after defining the formats new I'd like to
know a step by step instruction to reproduce the problem. However I suspect the
problem was either introduced much earlier as the old style conditional format
information already show the problem, or with an early version of 3.6 that
contained a bug in the transformation from old-style to new style conditional
format information.

Thank you very much. I'll try with version 3.6.3 or latest.
Only a little note: I´m a school math teacher and, very often, I and my
colleagues use PowerPoint presentations as additional material for our classes.
In this context, using LaTex isn't a good idea, so we use PowerPoint with Math
Type or, in my case, LO Impress with Math. Browsing the internet, you will find
many material (containing mathematical expressions) bluit with PowerPoint, but
the poor integration of math symbols inside it, makes the resulting
presentations a little bit dissapointing and unprofessional.
In this sense, Math integration inside Impress is much better, so mixing both
is not so rare, and being able to save your work in ppt format is necessary in
order to share it with others.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58663

Actually, it *has* been started. Try the --enable-64-bit option and build
against a current SDK. Basically what prevents it from working is the
unfinishedness of the --enable-coretext thing. For 64-bit code all the
deprecated stuff is really gone, honestly. Not like for 32-bit code where some
declarations are gone from headers but the API is still present in libraries
("frameworks"). So the code definitely needs to use CoreText. As for the
C++/UNO bridge, I think it might even work. At least I vaguely recall seeing LO
start up as a 64-bit program fine, which probably it wouldn't manage to do
unless the bridge worked? (Sure, it soon gets stuck or crashes because of the
bugs in our CoreText code).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59114] New: Dialog box window sizes

2013-01-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59114
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: Dialog box window sizes
  Severity: critical
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: ljelou...@me.com
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.0.beta2
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

Dialog box window sizes (mainly open dialog box and save dialog box)
Gtk window placement is not remembering size when it is an open or save dialog
window on a normal monitor for a computer running ubuntu.
Problem:
1. Open the open dialog on libreoffice.
2. Window overlaps off screen. Does not fit on screen.
3. Click the maximise button and the window adjusts as a maximised window that
fits on the screen.
4. Close window.
5. Open window again.
6. Same problem overlaps on screen does not remember that it was in a maximised
state when I closed it from last time.
7. Have to click maximise again!

What it needs to do:
1. The 2nd window should remember where it was in a maximised state (not
overlap when i open it again) as I had left it when I had closed the 1st
window.
2. Window open and save dialog s should remember there state no matter how they
are adjusted.

I have filed a gtk bug.
My response so far is that it is a Ubuntu problem.

What I think is happening:
The open and save dialog window knows that it needs to be at a resolution as it
was before... And that is what it is directly doing. But, What the window needs
to do though is to be told when it is opened to go to that size and resolution
but to also go back into maximise mode as I had left it before.

Links:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...iz/+bug/760645 launchpad bug:
Bug filed with gtk developer: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=685347
Screenshots in both links of what is going wrong.

I have had this problem with many versions of ubuntu since 10.04.. Earlier. It
would be great if it could be fixed... still happens in quantal 12.10.

It is quite annoying when the dialog doesn't remember its position or fits on
the screen??

occurs from libreoffice 3.5 and onwards..

Things like a 64bit libjpipe.jnilib would only be one part of a complete
picture. To allow in-process UNO communication, a 64bit C++ UNO bridge for Mac
OS X would be needed too. In short, this ultimately boils down to a new LO
"port" for 64bit Mac OS X (which has repeatedly been discussed but never
actually been started). Changed the summary accordingly.

David changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED
 Resolution|WORKSFORME |---
 Ever confirmed|0 |1

I just installed the latest daily build dated 2013-01-07 on a CLEAN Windows XP
virtual machine. The virtual machine had no previous install of any version of
LibreOffice or OpenOffice therefore there are no configuration folders to
delete. Following the instructions given in the first message the document
failed exactly as I noted. I create the styles by opening the style window and
selecting "New Style from Selection" from a new, blank document. I then
downloaded the sample test document attached to this message thread and when I
opened it it also displayed a spacing of 0" after the style2 and style3
paragraph but when I opened it up in version 3.4.6 it displayed the paragraphs
correctly with a .10" after paragraph spacing.

Just in case there are any questions as to where the changes are being made,
I'm referring to linking the styles under the paragraph style properties window
in the Organizer tab. The other options are changed in the Indents & Spacing
tab in the "Before text", "After Text", and "Below paragraph" input boxes.
After making the changes you will need to close the document and re-open it in
order to see the failure.

And IMO styles is a VERY basic function for any non-trivial document.

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified

  Reporter: rao...@comcast.net
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.2.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: When trying to set a conditional formatting rule to a
range that is a subset of a range which already has a rule, the second rule
applies to the larger range of the first rule, not the smaller selection.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Set up a range, e.g. B3:B9 with values, e.g. 1 in each cell.
2. Select B3:D9, create a conditional formatting rule (e.g. value = 1) with one
style.
3. Select C3:D9, select Conditional Formatting > Conditional Formatting.

Current behavior: The Conditional Formatting dialog box applies to the larger
range of the first rule (B3:D9), not the smaller range currently selected
(C3:D9). A rule created in this box (e.g. value > 0) is applied to that larger
range, not the smaller range selected.

Expected behavior: You should be able to create a conditional formatting rule
that applies to the smaller range selected.
More generally, you should be able to create a conditional formatting rule that
applies to a selected range, and only to that selected range, independently of
any rules that apply to different ranges, even if there is overlap of the
ranges.

working on confirming the bug but I'm doing a few things first:

1. This is in no way a CRITICAL or HIGHEST priority bug. Critical/Major bugs
are meant primarily for crashes, data loss, loss of basic functionality such as
printing, etc... styles is no basic functionality. Marking appropriately
(normal bug)

2. Highest - Highest is meant for a bug that will affect a large majority of
our users, this bug will not for many reasons (it only happens under specific
situations when using styles which already isn't used by the vast majority of
users). Marking as Normal

3. Changing version, version is used to show the OLDEST release that the bug
behavior appeared, not the latest it has been seen on. You have said that you
first see this on 3.5 so it's a regression in 3.5 which still exists, I will
test the bug on 3.6 right now and mark as NEW if I can confirm.

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59108
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: no formula update when deleteing referenced row/column
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: zhaw...@googlemail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

referencing deleted row/column

I have cells referencing a previous row/column.
When I delete that referenced row/column then the formula shows "#REF!".
I expect it to reference the new row/column which is now its previous one.

I have attached a simple test file. Either delete row 2 or delete column B.
When deleting row 2, I expect D3 (which will then be D2) to show the content of
C1.
When deleting column B, I expect D1 (which will then be C1) to show the content
of the new B1 (which was C1).
Using an absolut reference ($B$1) does not work.

Can you do a few things for us:

1. Attach an actual docx displaying the behavior

2. Change mime types for the documents you attached to the correct ones so it's
easier to view them.

Also I tested a basic case (attached) for Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID:
a0d2c3c59fbe9324395152e544890fe298b6043) and it seems to be fine, so it could
be fixed already in master (meaning we'll just have to apply a patch to 4.0
before release next month.

If that is all of the output, then that is very odd. As protocol is "file", it
would need to go into the corresponding if branch in getModuleFromUrl, where
mod would need to be null (as this is the first call to getModuleFromUrl, and
only this function adds to g_loadedComponents), so it would need to call
checkForPythonPathBesideComponent, which would always print something if DEBUG
== 1. Can you add some more print debug statements in your copy of
pythonloader.py to help track down the flow of control that happens for you?

(Build ID: 4104d660979c57e1160b5135634f732918460a0) on Windows 7 x64 fails with
the following error messages:

Duden Korrektor 6.0:

loading component library failed:

loading component library failed:

Though, I can confirm that Duden Korrektor 6.0 installs and works fine in
LibreOffice 4 Beta 2 on Linux Mint 13 x86 (Ubuntu 12.04 based). Note, I
remember that I had to install package libstlport4.6-dev to make Duden
Korrektor 6.0 work with LibreOffice 3.5.4 provided by the distribution. That
package is still installed.

With LibreOffice 4.0 Beta 2 I'm observing problems on Windows only.

Thanks,
Stephan Hennig

The common part is that some parts of the docs are not showed as in MS Word.
But, in this case, we have a great text area, with some ASCII art that is not
showed. So, I can't say what is different between the docs, because I don't
have MS Word to see what LO is hidden from us in the Bug 43496

Thanks for verifying the inheritance!

On the other hand, it is not a real data loss because the data are not removed.
The document can be fixed relatively easily => should not be marked as a

problem looks like a variant of "Bug 43496 - FILEOPEN .doc FORMATTING "Allow

difficult to find out reporter's Linux problem with only WIN available...

The problem in reporter's sample also is already visible with LibO 3.3.3 and
AOOo 3.4, so inherited from OOo.

BTW:
* Similar damages with "Lotus Symphony Release 3.0.1 Revision 20120110.2000"
* Works nearby perfectly with FreeOffice (Softmaker)

I mark this one as DUP for now

1. Switch Off left panel: View > Slide Panel (Impress) \ Page Pane (Draw)
2. Agree with the restoration of "Untitled_1.odp \ odg".
3. Starts smath.exe (Windows OS only) and closes its after.
--
Impress and Draw are working right. 'Add Slide(impress)\Page(Draw)' option
works too across 'Insert > Slide'.

Bjoern could you please get a backtrace? I am afraid that we are not able to
move forward otherwise.

It seems that you are the only one who is able to reproduce it => it is not a
common problem => should not block the release => lowering the severity a bit.

It'll be available in LibreOffice 4.0. See release notes:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.0#Writer

Allow different header and footer on the first page without using a
separate page style. For more details, see this blog entry. (Miklós Vajna)

The pivot table functionality is lost when exporting into XLSX also with LO-3.6
and 3.5. So, it is not a regression => can't block the release => lowering the
severity a bit.

Note that the OOXML import/export filters are work in progress. It is being
improved in every LO release.

Kohei, Muthu, Noel, could you please have a look? I am not sure who of you
works on the XLSX import/export.

Hi,

could you please implement first page header functionality for Writer when
using the ODT format?

Microsoft Word 2007 and up have a checkbox, which, if checked, creates a
different header (and perhaps footer) for the first page only (and the last
page if the user wishes, by a different checkbox). This only works when using
the .docx file format, I believe.

I use Linux at home and I cannot hence get a screenshot of Word demonstrating
this feature, but this is an important feature to me.

Regards,

Yannis.

This is related to the bug #56270. The DOCX import/export of formulas newer
worked reliably. I actually do not any difference when I save and open the test
file in ODT by Lo-3.6.3 or LO-4.0. You results on Lubuntu are confusing. I
wonder if there is any regression at all. Such bugs should not block the
release => lowering the severity a bit.

Anyway, Miklos or Lubos, could you please have a look at the formula
import/export and make it working more reliably?

This is a regression which by the time version 4.0 is released will be a year
old. It is a very simple bug to duplicate but prevents me from being able to
upgrade from version 3.4.6. I am marking this critical because if LibreOffice
is going to a new major version number a bug of this nature should be fixed
unless it's expected for users to only use LibreOffice for trivial documents.
