You copied the text in the firefox(but not the source code), and pasted 
all the text to the LibreOfficeWriter,  but with no observed issues.

Maybe it is just my computer's problem. I just have one computer, and my 
friends' computers installed windows-word. So I cannot test the bug in 
the other computer. I'm sorry for wasted your time.

I wonder whether it's a bug or a feature that only styles used in a sheet will
be copied to a new target document, but not styles what are used in other
sheets of the source document (what also might be useful in the copied sheet).

Sure, I can confirm it not only for zh-tw, but also for zh-cn. And the button
we are talking about in English is "Website" in the About box.

After had both Chinese packages installed, when I chose LO user interface as
Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese. The "Website" button in Help->About
Libreoffice dialog will bring out always this nonexisted link:

  http://www.libreoffice.org/zh

Minor - I think that Minor is appropriate as it only happens if a user is

So, first we create a CellRangeAddress and then pull four long values out. We
use Array to create an array. What is returned is a Variant array with four
long values. This is returned as a variant type (because getMergedArea returns
a Variant). So, ultimately, a variant references an array, that contains an
array of Longs. If I change getMergedArea() to use hard coded long values, the
problem does not occur:


Dim l As Long : l = 0
getMergedArea = Array(l, l, l, l)

Current behavior:

LO crashes

Expected behavior:

LO does not crash

Mac OSX 10.7.5 - Lion

Restore windows dialogue box

Was working in impress, tried to save document, save box disappeared while I
was looking for directories or something. Then force quit and restore windows
dialogue box continues to pop up since restart. Have tried deleting and
re-installing Libreoffice.

Looked and saw that this same thing happens to many others, but don't
understand how to use terminal to block box from coming up (solution that
appears in forums).

can reproduce this only on Windows, a 4.0beta2 on Linux 64bit displays fine.

on Windows, this was fixed by commit 06968a96afd334c276b425bf6b809c011f88b716

The initial confusion anyway isn't a new problem, but an old one, e.g.
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=79878 where we got a bit
sidetracked as to what the right way to store them in odf.

Revisiting it, we seem to have acquired a style:font-adornments and a bouncer
office:font-face-decls tag which would seem to avoid all that trouble.

In my tests, this problem results broken conditional content: hiding sections
doesn't work, but this function is critical for template management of public
administrations (like Munich) and other organizations.

which simply changes the default action from copying the
paragraph attributes to copying the character attributes.
this works as documented in the Help (index entry Paintbrush):

  By default only the character formatting is copied ; to include paragraph
  formatting, hold down Ctrl when you click. To copy only the paragraph
  formatting, hold down Ctrl+Shift when you click.

But Cell B1 With a standard LibO Style for CF keeps the CV
Reason for the problem is that Style "john" will not be copied to new document.
The problem will be healed if you also youse Style "john" for a quite normal
cell formatting:

11. Open document from LibO Start Center
12. Apply style "john" for cell C1 
13. Click back to Sheet1 tab
14. Right click Sheet1 tab
   > Context menu
15. 'Move/Copy Sheet -> Copy -> To Document = New Document -> '
   > New document with sheet contents created

presumably its because I have additional fonts installed which fontconfig
suggests as better replacements.

So in order for me to attempt to reproduce this bug I need to 

a) get the full list of fonts you have installed so that I can synchronize my
installed fonts with your installed fonts.

fc-list -v > /tmp/fontlist.txt

and attach /tmp/fontlist.txt here

b) get the output of "locale -a" because that can affect the suggested fallback
font too.

Hmm... a couple of things we can do to try to squish this bug:

1) Test the bug using LO 4 beta builds.

I'm not expecting any miracles, but it's a relatively fast check with big
payoffs if it fixes the problem.


2) Track down what, precisely, is changing in these files.

There are a couple of XLSX files attached to this bug, but both of them
demonstrate LO output. What we need are some small xlsx files saved in Excel,
and then re-saved in LO so that we can do a side-by-side diff of the output.


3) Reproduce the attached error message, and include the relevant lines (per
the referenced line and column) so that we know what input is causing Excel to
choke.

My Spanish is pretty weak, so if there's a way to get that error message in
English, that would help me better understand the nuances of the archive error.

There are further problems:
The icons are so large, that I have to scroll to see all categories. Having
only a list of the categories needs no scrolling.
In the old dialog I could use "My documents" to access templates, which were
stored somewhere else. That is no longer possible.
Sorting templates Z to A is no longer possible.
After clicking 'Sort' the small letters are sort after the capitals and there
is no way back.
Thumbs.db is listed.
Editing an template by clicking 'Edit' from the template manager does not give
a macro warning.

Do you need a "regression"-bug report for each of these?

Unless there is objection, here is what I'm going to do.

When saving, I'll check if the directory path changes before and after the
save, and if it does, I'll mark those sheets that have a hyperlink dirty, in
order to prevent their stream caches from being used on save.  As we discover
other elements that depend on the full path of the host document, we will add
more checks in the same routine.

This will slightly increase the cost of the file save, but hopefully not too
much.

xlsx files created in Excel 2010; opened and then saved again in LO 3.6.4
(Windows7 32bit) are corrupted.  Will open again in LO or Excel 2010 but loose
all sheet tabs in workbook and also loose alpha column headings.  Excel 2010
also one workbook shows several graphics boxes created by LO (why???) over some
of the cells in the one remaining worksheet.  Maybe other data corruption, but
these are the most obvious.  Easy to reproduce with any .xlsx file.  Files
created in older .xls in Excel are ok when modified in LO, so problem seems to
be in new "compressed" xlsx (docx?) formats.

I see this as an enhancement request. I don't know if it's intuitive to make
"none" do something, none seems to mean none. Maybe a new option for
"transparent" is more functional.

In the new template manager click on icon 'i' to call the properties of a
template. You get a page with a preview of the template. This preview shows
some toolbars of the application window. You can even click on the arrow to
show the additional toolbar commands. See attached screenshot.

Alternatively, we could just disable stream cache only when the host document
is saved into different directory.

We could also do additional check and disable stream cache only when the sheet
contains hyperlinks (or anything else that might depend on the full path of the
host document), but that would require going through all cells in each sheet,
which is a big overhead especially for large documents.  I'm not sure if it's
worth it.

Confirmed still bug in v3.6.4 on Windows7 32bit
Corrupts save of .xlsx file.  Loosing all tabs to all other sheets in workbook
and alphabetic column headings, probably more but these are most apparent
looses.

It will be conceptually equivalent of saving a new document.  We don't use this
optimization when saving a new document, and IMO we shouldn't do it when saving
an existing document as a different document either.

Note, my proposal will not remove this optimization.  It will just disable it
for "Save As" operation.  Let's ask ourselves, how many times do you expect the
users to "save as" a document as opposed to just "save"?

already quite slow so we might want to keep this optimization.

That does not mean that I'm generally in favor of this optimization just that
we need to think about the performance impact of such a change.

I don't understand any Chinese, and I can't click on a link. Is this good or
bad behavior? (installed UI = zh-TW).

@Reporter - I've checked with two QA members and 2 developers and we've never
seen this behavior where Navigator is "stuck on default" essentially.

Because of this I'm closing as WFM. 

What I recommend is to reset your user profile & update to the upcoming RC
release in a couple days. If these things don't solve your problem please
reopen the bug as REOPENED and we'll try to look at it again. Thanks for
reporting

The solution that might work better is to mark all table streams dirty when
saving as a different document.  It makes no sense to re-use streams unless you
are overwriting an existing document anyway.

Stressing the personas feature, if we increase the number of toolbars in the
top of the screen, then the background is undefined. See attached image: The
last toolbar from the top get random background (actually my desktop
background)

I missed the memo about setting status NEW; setting that now.


I think independent confirmation is unlikely because I have to do
oddball things to make make the segmentation fault.

(1) Actually, a debug build is not supposed to be very rare, but it
does seem to be a bit unusual.

(2) Under valgrind, I have to specify option --fill-free.

I have succeeded in provoking at least a couple of superficially
different segfaults.  For the attached backtrace, here is what I did
as closely as I can reconstruct it.

( 1) Presume existence of bugs_058893/subdoc.odt.  [This brings us to
 line 14 of the typescript.]

( 2) Make not to exist the template and the master document that we
 shall create in following steps.  [line 15]

( 3) Run LibreOffice; specifically 
 ./soffice.bin --norestore --writer
 Program displays empty Writer document "Untitled 1" [line 23]

( 4) Type "This is the template.".  The program displays that
 text in the document.

( 5) Take menu options File > "Save As".  The program displays dialog
 Save.

( 6) Navigate to your templates folder (mine is

~/lo_hacking/git/libo2/solver/unxlngi6/installation/opt/share/template/common)
 and press .  The program displays the contents of that
 folder.  (For me that was just folders internal/, layout/, and
 wizard/.

( 7) In Name field, type "bug_058893" and click to open the drop-down
 list of file formats.

( 8) In the drop-down list of file formats, click "ODF Tdext Document
 Template (.ott)" and click .  The program displays the
 document window and changes the title to bug_058839.ott.  [line
 23]

( 9) Take menu options File > New > Templates.  The program displays
 dialog Template Manager.

(10) Double click "My Templates".  The program displays some files,
 including ~.lock.bug_058893... and bug_058893. [line 35]

(11) Click bug_058893.  The program displays Writer document "Untitled
 1" with content "This is the tmplate."  The caret is before the
 first letter.

(12) Take menu options File > Send > "Create Master Document".  Program
 displays dialog "Name and Path of Master Document" with file type
 "ODF Master Document" selected.

(13) Navigate to your chosen folder.  Then type name "master" and click
 Save.  Program displays the document window, changes the title to
 master.odm, and displays the floating navigator toolbar.

(14) In the navigator toolbar click the Insert icon and select File.
 Program displays dialog Insert.

(15) Select file subdoc.odt and click Open.  The program displays
 document window master.odm with two paragraphs ...

 This is the subdoc.
 This is the template.

 There is a fine border around the first paragraph.

(16) On the toolbar click the Save icon.  Program runs a progress bar
 across the bottom of the screen and clears the document-modified
 flag in the status bar.

(17) Switch to window bug_058893.ott.

(18) Change the content to read "This is the template, updated one
 time."  Program sets the modified flag in the status bar.

(19) Take menu options File > Save.  Program runs a progress bar across
 the bottom of the screen and clears the document-modified flag in
 the status bar.

(20) Switch to the window master.odm and take menu options File >
 Close.  Program displays document window bug_058893.ott.  [line
 53]

(21) Take menu options File > "Recent Documents" and select master.odm.
 Program displays dialog "... Would you like to change the
 document, and ...".

(22) Click Yes.  Program displays dialog "... Do want to update style
 based formatting ...".

(23) Click "Update Styles".  

 Expected program action: display Writer document master.odm.

 Actual program action: Program displays window master.odm with no
 content but only a gray background in the content area and quickly
 produces a segmentation fault in in SfxRequest::IsCancelled.
 [line 59]


This is from master commit 58376a6, pulled 2013-01-02 and subsequently
lightly hacked in irrelevant ways, configured with

--enable-dbgutil
--enable-crashdump
--disable-build-mozilla
--without-system-postgresql
--without-myspell-dicts
--without-help
--with-extra-buildid

and built and executing on ubuntu-natty (11.04) with classic desktop
(no effects):
