Is this still a problem for you? I badly need to re-check Calc function names,
as I think there are a few discrepancies in the Help.

Problem description: In a workbook that has multiple sheets and formulas
referencing external links to other workbooks, moving or changing the order of
the sheets will cause LibreOffice to crash.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a .ODS workbook with several sheets of formulas. Some formulas
(i.e. - VLOOKUP) will reference other workbooks, One workbook will be a .ODS
and the other will be .XLS
2. Attempt to change the order of the sheets by dragging the first sheet to
the end of the row.

Current behavior: LibreOffice will appear to halt for a few seconds, then all
open LibreOffice windows will close.

Expected behavior: Sheets will change to new desired location and I could
continue with editing.

of RAM running up-to-date version of LinuxMint 12.
Also, All workbooks are saved in a dropbox folder.

I think you are confusing version numbers. 4.0.0.3 is rc3 and 4.1.0.0.alpha+ is
master. However, I have been using 4.0.1.0 (!), which is not available in the
Bugzilla dropdown - that is why I added it in the comment. This version is
supposedly later than rc3.

But I have now also installed and tested with Version 4.0.0.3 (Build ID:
7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89). Indeed, this version is older than my
4.0.1.0, because not only can I reproduce this bug, #59843 is also still in it.

Sorry that I overlooked the operating system, I added it now and reopened the
bug.

If I could I would help to fix this bug but i don't know how i can do that. The

Problem description:
Vertical scroll bar works incorrectly when viewing a spreadsheet with 10k+
rows. Limited to Mac OS X 10.8+

Steps to reproduce:
1. New spreadsheet.

on the images. Explodes into nice vector parts. Redering is also ok on my

Hi,

I can confirm the behavior shown in your screenshot of LibreOffice; but I can't
reproduce the behavior when viewing it in OpenOffice 3.4.1. It's exactly the
same as far I can see. Testing with Mac OSX 10.8.2 and LibreOffice 3.6.5 and
4.0.0.3 rc3 (both exactly same behavior as shown in the LibreOffice window in
your screenshot).

I'm not sure what's the problem you reported about, but as far I can see are
the only differences in your screenshot the 'indent' between 'Fundamental
results' and the text (and other text with 'First line indent' style).
I also checked the properties of the style 'First line indent', and can't find
any indent there (or any differences between LibreOffice and OpenOffice).
Because of that, I think there is no problem in LibreOffice (as far I can see),
and if there is a problem or difference in the document.. I think that's a
'bug' in OpenOffice.

Therefore I can't reproduce this behavior.

Kind regards,
Joren

Julien: Yep, there is work in progress on this front. When it will be ready,
and whether it is a good idea to cherry-pick to the 4-0 branch (for inclusion
in 4.0.1), I don't know. But anyway, the official TDF builds are built with an
obsolete Xcode 3.x tool-chain (in order to be usable on Mac OS X 10.4), and I
have no idea whether signed binaries and a signed app bundle will cause
troubles there, or whether it is even possible to sign binaries produced by the
obsolete tool-chain.

Unfortunately the bug is still present in LibreOffice V3.6.5.3.

If you affected by this crash you can update to LibO V4.0.x as a workaround.

Thanks for adding that attachment.

I can reproduce this behavior following your steps. Although using a Mac OSX
10.8.2, LibreOffice 4.0.0.3 rc3, that freeze is not THAT big, but it freezes...

Because I still can reproduce this wouldn't solve your problem; but is it
possible for you to retest with LibreOffice 4.0 (release probably next week),
or with current Release Candidate (RC3) to see or there's an improvement on
that part. (nevertheless this stays a bug/problem).

Following [1] I mark this bug as 'minor medium' (require users not to use some
features).

Kind regards,
Joren

Is this behavior always reproducible? Or just in some cases/some documents?

I can't confirm this behavior, and I didn't saw some similar problems reported

If this is reproducible every time, is it possible for you to reset your user

I did the tests, like you proposed:
- I created a new document using LibO 3.6.5 and inserted the bmp and gif image
attached to this document.
- I opened the document again with LibO 4.0.0.3 and both images are shown
correctly.

This means, that in the document, where the bmp image is not shown correctly,
there seems to be an error in.
I have several of these documents, because I use LibO since a long time. So I'm
not sure with which version of LibO these documents have been created.
Do you have an idea how to deal with it, because I estimate that I have more
than hundred documents, which are affected.

Thank you.

By seeing "accessibility" in stracktrace, I wonder if this Roman's (that I put
in cc) comment may help:
"
1) Do you have any accesibility features enabled? Apple’s accessibility
features like “VoiceOver” or “Enable access for assistive devices”, which get
enabled in “System Preferences > Universal Access”, are known to cause many
crashes and freezes in LibreOffice. So please try to disable any accesibility
features, then check if the problem is still reproducible.

2) Do you have installed any window management/user interface
utilities/apps/control panels/extensions for Mac OS X like
   * AquaSnap* BetterSnapTool
   * BetterTouchTool * Breeze
   * Cinch   * Divvy
   * DoublePane  * Flexiglass
   * HyperDock   * iSnap
   * Moom* RightZoom
   * ShiftIt * SizeUp
   * SizeWell* Spectacle
   * Stay* TileWindows
   * WindowTidy... or something similar?

And/or do you use any mouse cursor/pointer utility, i.e. some little
application or control panel etc. which animates or replaces etc. the mouse
curser/pointer, like
   * LazyMouse?

And/or do you use any special software which could be related to accessibility
stuff, e.g. a screen reader, screen magnifier, speech recognition software,
a text-to-speech (dictation) application, or similar?

All these and many similar utilities rely heavily on Mac OS accessibility
features and therefore can cause LibreOffice to crash or freeze. So please
check if you have installed any utility of this kind and try to disable it
(or to add LibreOffice to the list of excluded applications for the utility,
if there is such a thing).

So please check these possibilities, if any of them helps to make the crash go
away, and report the results here.
"

On pc Debian x86-64 with 3.6 sources updated some days ago (so equivalent
3.6.5)
with a brand new LO profile, I tried this:
- open Writer
- Menu Tools/Customize
- Select Toolbars tab
- just click "Reset" (as the image shows)

I didn't reproduce the crash.

- What's your Linux distribution and version?
- do you use KDE, Gnome, other?
- did you install any LO specific extensions?
- could you rename your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) and give it a new try?

If you still reproduce the problem, could you try to retrieve a backtrace? (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#How_to_get_a_backtrace_.28on_Linux.29)

Created attachment 74188
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=74188&action=edit
Example of corrupted header

Here we are, Joel. I've created a Lorem Ipsum based on the private document.
The document was created in LO 3.6.5.

Open the document in 3.6.5 and all the headers are correct. Open it in 4.0.0.3
and the header on page 4 (a right-hand page) appears as a left-hand header - it
gets the chapter-number field and the page-number appears on the incorrect
side.

Incidentally, I then tried to create the same incorrect header in chapter two,
by deleting (using 3.6.5) the last two paragraphs of chapter one (thus forcing
the first header in chapter two to be on a right-hand page) but the whole
document then appeared correct in 4.0.0.3, including the page four header!

I did as Joel suggested.

It crashed within a few seconds the first time after.

I restarted it, left it for at least 30 seconds, it stayed up. I then
configured the options and tool bars the way I like them. Closed it down.

Brought it up via a menu option, about 20 seconds later it crashed before I had
a chance to do anything with it.

I am using a fully patched Fedora 17 on a quad core 64 bit processor.

not be called Beta, it should be called Alpha or even Daily! [I am very sorry

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60291] New: MAILMERGE: Mail Merge

2013-02-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60291

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 60291
  Keywords: regression
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: MAILMERGE: Mail Merge
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: dnel...@dfn.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.7.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. New Labels: Table blank. Data Base Field Blank. Click Arrow enter each line
First Name, Last Name. Next Address and so on. Options Tab: Entire Page &
Synchronize Contents. New Document.
2. A Layout appears as created. Click View>Data Sources select date source. a
blank Pane appears. Not the Data Base showing the Addresses.
3. Click Synchronize and the layout appears not the address labels.
4. Tools>Mail Merge Wizard: 6th step preview of Address Labels does not appear
but a layout of First Name, Last Name and so on.

Current behavior: Unable to create address Lables. I have done this before
using Ver. available 5/2012, I will search for a ver. available during that
time and I will uninstall ver. 3.5.7.2. and install it.

NOTE: All I did was add addresses to the data base and then update the Address
Labels. Been working on this for almost 2 weeks. Created the Data Base and
Address Labels in May 2012. Using the same steps in Writer creating the Labels
should not have been a problem.

Expected behavior: Create Address Labels.

Well, let's say that 50% of Impress users are using those templates, and for
them printing is essentially broken (takes ages = unusable/hangs/perception
that does no work and it's frozen).
In addition is a regression (don't know technically, but an user passes from a
release where this works to one that does not)
We are going to upset a lot of people and receive a lot of bad reviews due to
this ("there is some new interesting feature but impress printing is broken, a
sigh of the low quality of the suite/development/whatever").
Do we have some hurry or better release when most problematic bugs are fixed?
I would do the latter

Hello,

Firefox-17 had similar issue as a regression from Firefox-10.

It is common to this problem.

Fonts of Taamey David CLM and Taamey Frank CLM are working correctly in both.

So I am unsure why it used to worked and stopped working, but no problem using
these fonts.

Thanks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60290] New: FILEOPEN: Opening a file changes the directory's modification date

2013-02-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60290

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 60290
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILEOPEN: Opening a file changes the directory's
modification date
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: rho...@recurrentengineering.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.5.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
On Mac OS X, opening any file with LibreOffice causes the enclosing directory's
modification date to change. This plays havoc with folders organized by date.
Am I missing an option, or perhaps invisible lock files I can turn off?

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any file with LibreOffice
2. Observe that this changes the enclosing directory's modification date to
now.

Current behavior:
The directory's date changes.

Expected behavior:
The directory's date should not change, because nothing (visible) in it has
been modified.

Note: I would have tried Ask LibreOffice, but can find no way to log in without
a social network membership, which I eschew. This Bugzilla membership doesn't
seem to work for that.

Operating System: Mac OS X
Version: 3.6.5.2 release

do two things please:

reset your user profile

rm -R ~/.config/libreoffice/4

and:

try running ./soffice --writer a second time after it fails the first time.
Sometimes things have to be set the first time you try it, second time works
fine.

I haven't seen one other report like this so I suspect it's environmental
factors, not LibreOffice issue as we've had hundreds of users testing
LibreOffice 4+ on Linux.

Hi. I'm sorry you're having that problem. I tested this using Ubuntu 12.04, but
with LO Version 4.0.0.2 (Build ID: 408fe71bd18616c467b3dcd7ab6756528ffcae2). I
did not encounter this issue when trying to export as pdf, or print to file. I
used existing and new documents.

I only recently stopped using LO 3.4 on Ubuntu, and did not experience a
similar issue, but I can't speak for 3.5 specifically.

This problem gets even worse when dealing with Language Packs, as a comment in
Italo's article says

http://www.italovignoli.org/2012/08/libreoffice-and-mountain-lion-macos-x-10-8/#comment-1046

It's definitively a non-friendly installation process if we have to ask users
to lower their system security level, and a lot of non-advanced users won't
follow the process if it scares them.

Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: robinkin...@core.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.4 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

Incorrect behavior when inserting a field

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select any place in the document including footer using left mouse
button
2. Select Insert Field then select any of the available field values
3.

Current behavior:
Below is a list of the behavior based upon the field selected. The text
presented below after "get" is the literal text displayed on the screen. All
values are presented with gray background
Select Date get Date (fixed)
Select Time get Time (fixed)
Select Page number get Page numbers
Select Page count get Statistics

Other selected fields produce unexpected results.

I was expecting inserting the field for Date to provide today's date, page
number, to insert the current page number, etc. It has always behaved in this
way in the past.

I recently installed a new iso of Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS on this computer. At some
point in the past, getting to 12.04 LTS by upgrading through an Internet
connection, LibreOffice was behaving correctly.

Expected behavior:

2013-02-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 60287

Summary: FORMATTING: Freeze when typing Hyperlink into
hyperlink formatting
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: t...@tomthorogood.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.2.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
When adding a hyperlink to a word by typing in the hyperlink, I am experiencing
a (really, really bad) freeze, which requires me to forcibly kill the
LibreOffice process. I have tried multiple times with the same document, and
the same link.

Copy-pasting the link into the dialog box, however, works. The issue is
reproduceable only when typing the link into the dialog box.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the attached document
2. Higlight a word
3. Use the "hyperlink" button on the toolbar
4. Begin typing a hyperlink (I was trying to hyperlink to
"http://www.github.com/tomthorogood/pyrex"; -- the freeze took place after the
"i" in Github, every time, without exception.

Current behavior:
Heavy freeze which requires Writer process termination from command line

Expected behavior:
Not freezing.

This is using the LO release currently in the Ubuntu repositories for 12.10
(Quantal). While it may not be the most updated LO release, it is what is
currently used from standard repos. If the issue has been fixed in a later LO
version, then I suppose it should fall to the package maintainer to update to a
newer version of LO, instead of the LO dev community.

Do I understand you point of view as something like:
"The Report, and with it the enclosing .odb file, is broken, so why should LibO
be able to read a broken record from an therefore broken file?"

1.) Then the error message should exactly say this! "General Error" has the
smell of internal program failure.

2.) This record of a report in that file was created by LibO, so maybe rename
the title to something like "LibO causes corrupt report item in data base
file".
