[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58807] No sound with statement "beep"
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58807 Rainer Bielefeld changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Resolution|NOTABUG |--- --- Comment #11 from Rainer Bielefeld --- I believe we have some misunderstanding here. Bug 48549 seems to be concerning removal of spontaneous sounds caused by LibO error messages or whatever. With most arguments I agree, but for example I think it's obvious that we need some kind of sound alarm if a macro running in a hidden window or elsewhere in the background aborts because of an error. Without doubt, a Basic beep statement what does not beep is a bug (help for this statement does not tell anything like "does not sound"). And even if we would decide that the beep should not beep (I don't believe that) at least Help for that statement will have to be amended. So I reopen bug for final finishing research and work -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61380] New: REPORTBUILDER: Report Builder crashes when attempting to reposition and modify field description in the body of the report.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61380 Priority: medium Bug ID: 61380 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: REPORTBUILDER: Report Builder crashes when attempting to reposition and modify field description in the body of the report. Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: carrbig...@yahoo.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.5.2 release Component: Database Product: LibreOffice Problem description: Using the report wizard I created a 3 column report with 100+ fields. Before creating the report, I selected edit and was able to move 15 fields two at a time (label field and data field) to the header portion of the report leaving 85+ label & data field pairs in a 3 column body. When I reopen the report for editing, select multiple fields, move the selected fields, then attempt to modify label contents, the application crashes. I am able to select a label field and the data field and move them together to the desired position. I then deselect the fields and attempt to change the contents of the label when I press enter to change the contents the application crashes. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a 3 column report using the report wizard 2. Save the report 3. Open the report for edit 4. Select multiple fields (label & data) using the Control key and cursor 5. Move the selected fields to an open portion of the report. 5. Deselect the fields 6. Select one label field and modify the contents. 7. Press enter to make the change and the application crashes. 8. Message is presented saying the application has crashed and open files will be saved. Current behavior: I have been able to move individual fields, modify the contents and/or the length. If I select multiple fields to move, after deselecting the fields and attempting to modify, the application crashes. Expected behavior: Allow multiple fields to be selected, moved as a group, deselected and then individually modified. The idea is similar to what happens in MS Office Power Point, and really gives visual continuity to the presentation. Moreover, in an actual presentation to quickly switch to a particular slide, you can use the presenter console, or the new LibreOffice Impress remote. The point is that if a slide that is after the current transition is displayed in the normal sense, but if the slide is before the current slide, the transition is displayed in reverse. Description of the problem: Add that currently inconsistent behavior occurs when moving forward or backward a slide (with transition effect). When you move back a slide: ↑ or ← or PgUp simply appears the previous slide. When using the contextual menu / previous slide back, but showing the effect transition "normal sense" being inconsistent and confusing. To replicate: 1. Prepare a presentation with at least 3 slides (with the same transition effect) 2. Try moving forward the presentation 3. now move backward presentation (with: ↑ or ← or PgUp) 4. Back to advance. Now go back to the context menu / previous (compare with 3) Expected results: Going forward (any method) is displayed normal transition when backward (any method) is shown in the opposite transition. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

All I see are a bunch of system-generated responses and then this thing auto-closed as "RESOLVED INVALID". Has any human being apart from its submitter actually looked at this? I can produce this issue so can give you any info you need to debug. It looks like libreoffice tries to make things more efficient, since when you run 'soffice' while an instance is already running, it brings that window to the front. This is fine when using it on a GUI as a single-user, but a big reason to use LibreOffice is for running it on a server to convert, or quickly extract information from a wide variety of file formats. According to all the docs, I should be able to just nicely start soffice running like a service like so: $ soffice --nofirststartwizard --minimized --invisible --accept="socket,port=8100;urp;" Then from a separate process connect to it to quickly run small tasks, like conversion: $ soffice --headless --convert-to pdf MyDocument.doc Except: this just returns straight away, because soffice just sees that it's already running, and does nothing but try and make the 'main window' pop up. Obviously this is inapplicable in --invisible mode. I know it's definitely connecting, since when I start it like a service, then in another window run: $ soffice -nofirststartwizard in the window running the service, I see: Warning: -nofirststartwizard is deprecated. Use --nofirststartwizard instead. Please please take a look at this. It would be a huge performance improvement, especially to those of us running libreoffice on backend servers. The file conversions libreoffice does are excellent and with a few small updates libreoffice could be for web applications managing office docs what imagemagick is to apps that manipulate images. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
