[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51525] UI: For Impress, please add Paste Unformatted Text to the commands list in the Customize Add Commands dialog
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51525 --- Comment #4 from Kumāra kumara.bhik...@gmail.com --- Although I marked the bug I reported as a duplicate of this, the request is slightly different, but definitely related. I fully support the effort to create consistency. I notice a suspected adverse effect of this lack: After much normal pasting (ie with formatting), I now have presentation files that are full of custom graphic styles which aren't in use. You may check out on your side to see if it's true for you too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61396] FILEOPEN: [Template Manager]Editing a model
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61396 --- Comment #3 from pierre-yves samyn pierre-yves.sa...@laposte.net --- Hello Thank you for your response (In reply to comment #2) @Pierre-Yves, I take it, you use model in the meaning of template? That confused me a bit... Yes model means template, sorry for my bad english... :( So, as far as I understand you, you want an extra tick box in the Open dialogue that allows switching between (1) opening the template and (2) opening a new document based on the template. Is that correct? No additional check box is needed: I suggest that the choice of document type makes the difference. 1.If the user explicitly chooses template (see screenshot FileOpenEditTemplate.png), File Open edits the template (new behaviour) 2.Otherwise File Open creates a new document based on the template (current behaviour) As I said before: *This would be consistent with what is done for File Save. *It does not add menu entry or anything else *It does not change the template manager *It provides a utility to File Open Type: Model, currently overlap with File Open *This allows to recover functionality lost with the new manager. * I would assume the second point is likely what user want in the majority of cases I do not agree with that: if the user specifies the type Template, he wants to edit the template. As an example: when you want to open a text file (.txt) in the spreadsheet, you select the filter in the list, otherwise it opens in Writer. It would not be acceptable that the choice of filter would not be respected. Currently, choose the template filter or not makes no difference. * It seems reasonably simple to just overwrite the template by using Save As... The software allows me to create something, does not allow me to change it. I need to create a copy and replace the original. It is indeed possible ... but it is a workaround. I'm not sure that we should be satisfied ... Hey Petr, so let me leave some comments about the patch and why saving, closing and then reopening will always fix the problems that I fixed with the patch in Comment 20. First why save, close reopen fixes the problem: We store the information about conditional format ranges in two places: The ScConditionalFormat::maRange as a ScRangeList and inside of the cell attribute storage for fast look-up. The big task is now to keep the two in sync because for import/export and nearly all update conditional format tasks the ScConditionalFormat::maRange information is the important one. However for rendering we use for performance reasons the one in the cell attribute storage. So now why does my patch solve the problem (I have to check the problem you mentioned). The cell attribute storage stores as I mentioned the information which conditional format is applied to a cell. This is done by a vector storing an index od the conditional format (in ScConditionalFormatItem with ID ATTR_CONDITIONAL). Now when we copypaste we copy the cell information from the old document into the paste area of the new document. This cell information also contains the old index which is not the same index as in the new document. Additionally in ScTable::CopyConditionalFormat we add the index of the copy to the the paste area but after the old index. Therefore the conditional format with the old index is evaluated first. So removing the old conditional format information in the copypaste case is always correct and has to happen outside of the IDF_ATTRIB case as we want to clean it always. In case of IDF_ATTRIB we also copy the conditional format and add the information into the cell information by ScDocument::AddCondFormatData -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61425 --- Comment #2 from Heikki Moisander b...@bastu.net --- I am not getting any later release through Ubuntu 13.04 repositories yet. And then of course at the time I get it some later release is then what you are looking at. This bug has been reproducible in several PCs with various Ubuntu version in several previous Libre Office Calc versions - now also in 4.0.0.0. It is excellent if that will be then working in 4.0.0.3 - when ever that might become available. To be honest I don't believe it and just lost my trust on this process. In my opinion there are few critical usability bugs in Libre Office that prevent efficient serious business use. Maybe they appear only to Ubuntu users then - one can believe what one likes. Unfortunately there seems to be no channel for ordinary user like me to report about them. I believe this is the reason those bugs exist and MS Office seems like an only option. Developers do not use office package in the way the target group is using and bugs do not appear meaningful to them. Basic UI design principles dictate that gizmos must be manipulated in a useful and reasonable way, having the ruler be moved of 1/100 millimetre makes no sense, if I want 1/100 precision I will use the indent and spacing, for all the rest I must be able to drag the ruler. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61557] New: FILEOPEN: File open dialog: file type filter
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61557 Priority: medium Bug ID: 61557 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FILEOPEN: File open dialog: file type filter Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: mi...@cs.jhu.edu Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.5.2 release Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice Problem description: When opening a file, the open dialog is particularly unhelpful when trying to override the decisions of the automatic file type detection. Steps to reproduce the problem: For example, I often load spreadsheets in TAB or comma delimited format provided as either a .txt or a .tsv file. If I select 'Spreadsheet files' in the filter these files open in writer as text files, even though from the context it should be obvious that they should be handled as spreadsheets. To achieve the desired functionality I have to scroll through a long list of file types until I find the (*.csv) option. Expected behavior: I suggest two options here: 1. The file type detection should operate in a context specific fashion, e.g. if specifying 'Spreadsheet files' in the filter, the code should automatically restrict the file types to spreadsheet files. 2. There should be a way to customize the list of file types available in the open dialog. I only use 2 or 3 file types on a regular basis (and I doubt other users use more) and it would be nice if only these were available as options in the Open dialog with the other ones relegated to Import. Alternatively, the commonly used options should be moved up in the list. This kind of functionality issue is common in other parts of libreoffice, e.g., in the Paste Special dialog - even here it would be useful to restrict the types of operations that are made available depending on user preferences. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61534] Calc: Select to block margin is severely broken
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61534 --- Comment #5 from crx...@hotmail.com --- After studying this problem with some coworkers, we determined what we think the root of the problem is- When you have select activated ( shift ) and move the cursor in any manner, the active cell is not moving, it is staying at the starting location of the selection process. This is a radically different (and broken) behavior. What is expected is that when you move during a selection, the active cell moves. Example One: * Click on cell A1 * Press and hold shift * Now press right * Note the active cell (the cell with the bold border outline) is still A1 and not B1 as it should be. You can also see the broken behavior with the mouse. Example Two: * Click on cell A1 * Drag out a selection with the mouse by holding down the first button. * Without letting go, notice that the active cell (the cell with the bold border outline) is still A1 and not the cell where the mouse cursor is/was located, as it should be. * When you let go of the mouse button, it is still showing the wrong cell as active (the start of the selection instead of the end). This above behavior explains why the shiftcontrol behavior is also broken. When you activate control, it is looking at the data in the row or column of the *ACTIVE CELL*. Since the active cell is not moving properly with the keyboard arrow keys during a selection ( shift ), it is looking at the wrong column or row and responding the wrong way. We also found a workaround for the problem, it is a different way of trying to select regions of data, but it is too complex right now for me to try and explain without a visual attachment. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

This will allow any user with any Linux Distribution that offers compliance with Linux Standard Base LSB, RPM and YUM the option to configure the YUM repo for installation of LibreOffice. This can be implemented so there is one repo for both 32 and 64 bit options which is always updated to the latest stable version of LibreOffice to keep Linux users up to date. Many other FLOSS projects are hosting their own Yum repo's including, Virtualbox and Google with some proprietary members doing this as well Adobe. Bottom line: The Yum Repo would allow for furthure acceptance and usage or LibreOffice in its native state without modification from Linux Distributions. Supporting Linux Distributions can be encouraged to simply include the Yum Repo as an addon repo for their distribution. Updates can be distributed through yum so users who's distros already utilize YUM receive updates in the same method as they do now. Mirror directories may expand to organizations that already host Yum repos such as Fedora and openSUSE. This may also assist in improving the number of active developers as many distros may work on patches and RPM fixes centrally at LibreOffice instead of Distro specific patches. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61561] New: EDITING: senseless cutoff for duplicate function
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61561 Priority: medium Bug ID: 61561 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: EDITING: senseless cutoff for duplicate function Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: bjo...@brezger.de Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.0.0.3 release Component: Drawing Product: LibreOffice Problem description: In a drawing with e.g. scale 1:400 and unit meter, the Duplizieren (duplicate?) function does not accept any x or y arguments (Verschiebung X-Achse / Verschiebung Y-Achse) larger than 1,00 m - although the page size (A4) is equivalent to 84 m x 118,80 m Steps to reproduce: 1. open empty drawing 2. set scale to 1:400 and unit to Meter 3. sometimes you need to repeat step 2 - but on the second try the scale and unit change always work out (this is a bug I know from several OpenOffice versions, too) 4. create a rectangle e.g. 1m x2m 5. evoke the duplicate function (Shift+F3) and enter e.g. 1,5m in the x- or y-shift field Current behavior: as soon as one goes on to a different input field, the input is truncated to 1,00 m Expected behavior: The function should accept input as least as large as the paper size (taking into account the actual scale) Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.0.0.3 release -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60571] custom animations from a 3.6.5.2 file do not work
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60571 --- Comment #5 from Martin Holmes mhol...@uvic.ca --- (In reply to comment #4) Hello, Those issues have been fixed by resolution of bug 59629. This can be verified by loading daily build LO 4.0.2.0+. Can you try It ? Thanks Jacques Guilleron I'm actually on my way to a conference where I have to give presentations, so I can't test it right now -- don't want to replace a known-good setup with a daily build! But I do have a Windows partition where I might be able to do a quick test once I get to my destination, and after Saturday I'll be able to do a proper test on Linux.
