Sure sounds like a good idea.

Marking as

New (valid enhancement request)
Enhancement (not a bug, additional feature)
Low (pivot tables aren't used a ton despite them being functional, this is just
a way to make them slightly better as you can always refresh manually also the
technical details might be a bit tough)

@anyone who takes this - maybe using the changed trigger - ie if a document
is changed and you can save it - to cause a refresh would work.

 @koukasio / all
How often do you see such problems? all 100 edits? all 10 edits? Only to
get an idea how much edits might be needed to have a chance to see something
 interesting
When trying to notice, I keep checking back an forth for any losses. At some
point I find it really frustrating to keep checking but there comes a point of
breakage. So I can tell you that it is more than 100. 10 sounds too much.
Maybe a class of 100-1.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61803] New: VIEWING: TRUE FALSE showing up as 1, 0 except when conditional formatting is applied

2013-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61803

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 61803
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: VIEWING: TRUE FALSE showing up as 1,0 except when
conditional formatting is applied
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: afo...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.5.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
TRUE FALSE are showing up as 1,0, not sure if that is accepted behavior - I
have searched through the docs, but I would think it should show TRUE FALSE by
default. Primarily I would not expect the representation of TRUE FALSE to
change to 1,0 based on conditional formatting.

Steps to reproduce:
1. populate two columns with some values
2. create a third column that would have eg) A1=B1 etc.. so you could get
results. The third column will then be showing 1's and 0's
3. Select the third column and go to format conditional formatting
conditional formatting add if cell value is equal to (enter a 1) then hit
ok

Now the 1's turn to TRUE's

Current behavior:
default TRUE FALSE seem to be 1's, 0's

Expected behavior:
I would expect either:
that true false would always be the representation of true false

or:
for the representation to be consistent even with the application of
conditional formatting. eg) if it starts with 0, 1 stay as 0, 1 or if it
starts with true false stay with true false

EFFECT:

The side effect of this current behavior is lets say you only applied the
conditional formatting to 1's as done above, you then have your 3rd column
filled with TRUE'S AND 0's - so it is mixing them up.

Operating System: Fedora

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61804] New: FILEOPEN: Specific docx file crashes LibreOffice

2013-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61804

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 61804
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILEOPEN: Specific docx file crashes LibreOffice
  Severity: critical
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: b...@pml.ac.uk
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.6.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 75905
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=75905action=edit
Docx file causing libreoffice writer to hang when attempts to load it

Opening particular docx files causes my Libreoffice Writer to hang. The calling
process returns immediately, any existing Libreoffice processes (not just
Writer) hang. An example document causing this on my system is attached - this
document opens correctly in MS Word (two-page document).

System is Fedora 17 Linux, LibreOffice 3.5.6.2

Steps to reproduce (every time):

1. In a terminal, type `ooffice document`

Actual results:

Process returns immediately, document does not open, existing other LibreOffice
windows hang and must be killed.

Expected results:

Document opens, existing windows do not hang.

This may be a duplicate of #59883, but I can't find the test document for that
bug (link broken) so I thought better to file a separate one since it's against
a different version and OS. It appears not to be a duplicate of #61343 because
I can correctly open the given test document for that bug.

On Linux the behavior is even stranger, if I drag 1. Open an application
(Firefox, TextEdit, Safari etc.) to writer I get this:

pre class=bz_comment_text id=comment_text_0 1. Open an application /pre

Same behavior with 3.6.5.2, not marking as anything as I want someone with OS X
to test this.

Joren you mind checking this one out?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34467] FORMATTING Fit to Frame for text boxes is broken

2013-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34467

crx...@hotmail.com changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||crx...@hotmail.com

This is a *CRITICAL* regression bug. We just stumbled across it today in the
real-world where it ruined many of our existing Draw and other documents that
depend on the feature to be working correctly.

The fit to frame option is completely broken. It doesn't fit text at all
when the frame is increased in size . And when reduced in size, it doesn't
work properly either, it keeps the text proportional (which it is not supposed
to do). And those are behaviors for NEW objects in a NEW document. When you
open an EXISTING older document that uses fit-to-frame, the behavior is even
more bizarre- increasing the vertical size of the frame causes the text to
become huge (yet still proportional) and run way outside the frame.

Confirmed as broken in LibreOffice 4.0.0 and confirmed as NOT broken in
OpenOffice 3.4.1. This is the second show stopper bug we have found that
prevents us from using LibreOffice :(

I am trying to verify this, but I would like to understand what you are doing,
exactly. This is my first time creating a variable. I went to Insert - Other
- Variables and used Set Variable to create a new variable myVar with text
variable text. Then I followed your steps.

Insert - Fields - Other - Variables - ShowVariable, and clicked Insert. It
worked on inserting variable text or the name myVar, depending on which I
selected. It worked for the Header and Footer.

If this is not what you meant, could you please clarify?

--- Comment #7 from Jorendc joren.libreoff...@telenet.be ---
I can confirm this behavior using Linux Mint 14 x64 and LibreOffice 4.0.1.2 rc.

When I open the document, and scroll to page 54 where that table Birth
Control (see screenshots) is placed, it looks good. When I open Page Preview
(File Page Preview or Ctrl + Shift + O) it still looks OK. But, when I Close
Preview it is all messed up. Suddenly that Birth Control section starts at
page 52.

I tried to reproduce this multiple times, but can't reproduce this every single
time.

What I tried:

* Open that document
* Open the search box (Edit Find ... or Ctrl+F)
* Type birth (without quotes) in the search box
* Click on down arrow once (or hit 'Enter' once)
* Now, click 2 times on arrow up (because that table sections is at the end of
the document)
* (select Yes on the dialog if he said that he reached the end of the document)
* Now open Page Preview (File Page Preview or Ctrl + Shift + O or icon on menu
bar)
* Close Preview

As I said: this isn't reproducible every time. If it isn't reproducible, please
reopen the document without closing LibreOffice. If it's still not
reproducible, close LibreOffice and restart it. Try again. I can't find any
consistency.

Very odd ...

Kind regards,
Joren

Hi. Are you saying that you made a document, added a header and footer, and
then proceeded to make changes? And after that, you were not able to save the
changes? I would need additional info before I could confirm this bug.

If you go to

you can find the sort of information we need to help determine a bug. For
example, a summary about what you expect and what is happening, and steps on
how to reproduce the bug. If you provide the information, you can change the
bug status to UNCONFIRMED.

Normal - prevents high quality work

Medium - default for normal bugs, I think that this is good for now, if this is

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34467] FORMATTING Fit to Frame for text boxes is broken

2013-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34467

(In reply to comment #15)
When you open an EXISTING older document that uses fit-to-frame, the
behavior is even more bizarre- increasing the vertical size of the frame
causes the text to become huge (yet still proportional) and run way outside
 the frame.

I would consider that a bug indeed - can you please attach a simple example
showing that behaviour?

Beyond that, the usefulness of the OOo-era fit2Frame anisotrophic scaling
behaviour is probably a matter of debate. A possible workaround is to convert
such text objects into metafiles, then scale. Or if you need to keep it
editable, e.g. create in Draw, then paste-special as Draw 8 in Impress to get
you an embedded OLE object.

I was going to attach an example workbook that had this then I realized:
when I created a new workbook, this behavior was not occurring.
it is only occurring in these existing workbooks that came from excel.
So it does not appear to be the default behavior in LO that I thought it was.

Reproducible with LO 4.0.1.2 under 10.7.5.

Just opened up a blank spreadsheet, entered some text, saved as 2003 XML file
with both English and Turkish localizations (to check whether the name Untitled
1 or Adsız 1 makes a difference), and it both crashed.

It only crashes when using .XML format.

I suggest we set the importance to Blocker, once Joren and Joel could also
reproduce the problem.

Corporate firewall: good point.

How about putting a choice? When one is logged in, one has choice between

Actually, the Anonymous HTTP and HTTP choices seem not to work at all.

I can't, but even then blocker is to high. Following [1] I marked this bug as
Critical Medium:
* Critical: A feature result in a Crash. Even I can't confirm, we need to admit
that and mark it as such.
* Medium: I think affects MANY users is the right word, not MOST.

 Hi,

In the way it is currently done I did not find a easy way to export a chart
as SVG. For release 4.1 I will try to find a way to make it possible using a
different solution but I don't think I can do anything other than to disable
export to SVG for release 4.0

 Regards, Tomaž

Hi Tomaž.

I understand if it is not an easy task to allow Calc to export charts as SVG,
and it isn't already implemented. But in my opinion, if it is not possible, the
save dialog should not allow the user to chose formats that are not supported.

Sounds very related to Bug 44621, except this is a bug regarding text, not
images.

(In reply to comment #0)
 Actual behaviour:

 1. Nothing happens

I can reproduce this behavior using Mac OSX 10.8.2 with LibreOffice 4.0.1.2

(In reply to comment #1)
On Linux the behavior is even stranger, if I drag 1. Open an application
(Firefox, TextEdit, Safari etc.) to writer I get this:

 pre class=bz_comment_text id=comment_text_0 1. Open an application
 /pre

I can reproduce that behavior also using Linux Mint 14 x64 LibreOffice Version
4.0.1.2 (Build ID: 84102822e3d61eb989ddd325abf1ac077904985).

Therefore I mark this as NEW.

In addition, similar behavior also occur for 'Text Box', where you add lot of

Sadly, I cannot share the document I'm working on. I don't have the
 permission from the author. :(

Thanks for your feedback. We respect of course. Although, is it a problem to
share this document with only several QA-members and if this bug get attention
to a developer share it with him/her too? We'll respect the permissions and do
not make it public in any kind of way.

The problem is that we need a/that document to reproduce this behavior. Only
then it could get fixed.

@Markus Kohei - might be a dupe of the other chart bug(s) but it seems a bit
different, interested in looking into it?

No feedback since several months, put it WFM.

Robin: don't hesitate to reopen if you still reproduce this with 3.6.5 or 4.0.0
and a brand new LO profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)

I can reproduce this behavior using Linux Mint 14 x64 with LibreOffice 4.0.1.2.
After a while (1 minute on my computer) A General input/output error appears.
After that I need to force quit LibreOffice.
