--- Comment #13 from Lionel Elie Mamane ---
Reproduced.

Oh, the error is in mysqlcppconn code, not in libmariadb! I assumed wrong. The
problematic value is MYSQL_TYPE_NEWDATE, which seems to be supported by newer
mysqlcppconn. Updating that and we'll see.

The "hide white space" is definitely a good one. However, it would be nice to
combine the development of this feature with the request to have also "normal
view" like in Word. (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37967)

Problem description:
I would like to create a style that is numbered like this:

0002
0003
0004

0008

I can't do this using the existing option to add three zeros before the number
because when the number goes from 9 to 10 (or 99 to 100) it does this
0009
00010

I can use fields to get a numbered list like I want. See the explanation
provided at the forum here (I also attached a document that shows the list I
created using fields): http://en.libreofficeforum.org/node/5557

The problem with using fields is that I can't automatically include the field
at the beginning of a style.

Here is another thread on the forum that discusses a similar numbering schema.

re-exporting the embedded svm as an svm using file->export and then re-loading
that corrects the issue - which is somewhat irritating :-) if you then export
that SVM to PDF then all is well.

In this case in the fixed svm the PolyLine is embedded inside a
META_COMMENT_ACTION - which is what we see when it's exported (erroneously) to
PDF as well. Most odd ...

Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.5.2 release
 Component: Writer

Problem description: After a series of Copy - Paste actions (especially when
tables are involved but not only), Writer crashes. It does not save before
closing (which is a very useful tool). I must say that the 3.6.5.2 version is
much more stable than 3.3.0 but it still happened a number of times.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Copy some formatted text
2. Paste
3. Redo steps 1 and 2

Current behavior: the mouse pointer changes into a rotating blue arrow (like
when an application is loading) and locks at this point

Expected behavior: that the text copied from clipboard is pasted correctly or
at least that an error is shown, giving the option of trying to copy the text
again.

Thanks for your effort

Wow this is annoying :-) I can't create an SVM like this that breaks
LibreOffice 4.x's PDF export using either LibreOffice 4.x or 3.6.

Apparently there is something rather unusual / unexpected about the SVM itself.

I agree. This is a mistake of Microsoft not having their own guidelines
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa511445.aspx) in mind
when developing Windows Installer. I think this can be marked as RESOLVED
NOTOURBUG, unless someone develops a new, custom installer. Meanwhile, marking
as NEW.

Thank you very much for following up on this issue. I intend to verify the
quick-starter, as requested, once LO 4.0.2 is released in a couple of weeks.

It does not behave as the normal software does. That is the main, irrefutable
argument.

Additionally, how do you suggest to deal with fields and headings? They cannot

OK, I understand that this is not easy or trivial. I also understand that it's
not a bug fix and that this may not be the proper place for discussion.

I am an enduser, not a particularly wealthy one, and not a programmer. So...

Could you say a little more about how endusers can help. I think it might also
be useful to suggest a link or two to "where."

Specifically:

Where do you buy support? How do you support or escalate the issue there?

Where can developers be found with an interest?

Who might be motivated to support/mentor at GSOC?

Not asking for anything lengthy...just a nudge in the right direction ;-)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62649] New: Initiate UAC (User Access Control) Prompt earlier, both at install and uninstall times

2013-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62649

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 62649

   Summary: Initiate UAC (User Access Control) Prompt earlier,
both at install and uninstall times
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: tansta...@libertytrek.org
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.1.2 release
 Component: Installation
   Product: LibreOffice

Summary says it all.

Currently, the UAC prompt when installing Libreoffice happens *way* later than
it should. It doesn't occur until after the user has gone through all of
install options, and the actual installation has begun.

It should be triggered as soon as the installer starts, before anything is
unpacked.

Anything else is a waste of time - if the user doesn't have Admin rights, they
should discover this immediately when the installer is launched, and if the
user does have Admin rights, they may walk away after clicking the last 'OK'
and the install begins (but before the UAC prompt occurs), and if they do, the
install fails, and they have to start all over again.

It’s a shame this isn’t being dealt with as copy and paste are the two most
common word processing functions according to Microsoft user captured data form
Word. It gives the impression to non-technical users the program is less
robust than it actually is.

I’m prepared to help track it down.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62645] VIEWING - Libmariadb connector fails to display data in mysql server registered VIEW

2013-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62645

--- Comment #12 from Alex Thurgood  ---
If I run the SQL statement as a query from within the Query section of LO
(Query in SQL View), I get the same error.

If I remove :

if(((`oldfmpro`.`Prio_FF_Date1` + interval 30 month) is not
null),(`oldfmpro`.`Prio_FF_Date1` + interval 30
month),(`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Date1` + interval 30 month)) AS `NATPHA`

from the query, then the following query does execute :

select `oldfmpro`.`File_Num` AS `file_num`,`oldfmpro`.`Owner1` AS
`Owner1`,`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Num` AS `filing_num`,`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Date1` AS
`filing_date1`,`oldfmpro`.`Prio_FF_Date1` AS `Prio_FF_Date1` from `oldfmpro`
where ((`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Num` is not null) and (`oldfmpro`.`Ctry_Short` =
'WO') and (`oldfmpro`.`IngJur` like '%ajt%') and (`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Date1` >=
(curdate() + interval -(30) month))) order by if(((`oldfmpro`.`Prio_FF_Date1` +
interval 30 month) is not null),(`oldfmpro`.`Prio_FF_Date1` + interval 30
month),(`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Date1` + interval 30 month))

so, LO will handle the IF condition in my WHERE clause, but not when I put it
in my SELECT preamble as well ??

The VIEW used to work prior to LO 4.0.

If I look at a blank Query Designer window, after adding the table "oldfmpro",
in the list of available functions, I can see only following choices :

None
count()

Any link between this and the inoperate "SELECT...IF" ?

Thanks for reporting!

I can confirm this behavior. This proves there is something very broken related
to the focusing of LibreOffice on Mac OSX.

This may be a duplicate of bug 49853 and others related to this topic, but I'm
going to put it only in the 'See Also' field for now.

I'm not going to change the priority of the bug (Normal Medium) looks fine to
me. I see bug 49853 has priority 'major medium', so this topic will get some
importance via that way.

Kind regards,
Joren

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62645] VIEWING - Libmariadb connector fails to display data in mysql server registered VIEW

2013-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62645

--- Comment #10 from Alex Thurgood  ---
Okay, so if I understand correctly, this stuff :

/* {{{ allocate_buffer_for_field() -I- */
typedef std::pair BufferSizePair;
static struct st_buffer_size_type
allocate_buffer_for_field(const MYSQL_FIELD * const field)
{
switch (field->type) {
case MYSQL_TYPE_NULL:
return st_buffer_size_type(NULL, 0, field->type);
case MYSQL_TYPE_TINY:
return st_buffer_size_type(new char[1], 1, field->type);
case MYSQL_TYPE_SHORT:
return st_buffer_size_type(new char[2], 2, field->type);
case MYSQL_TYPE_INT24:
case MYSQL_TYPE_LONG:
case MYSQL_TYPE_FLOAT:
return st_buffer_size_type(new char[4], 4, field->type);
case MYSQL_TYPE_DOUBLE:
case MYSQL_TYPE_LONGLONG:
return st_buffer_size_type(new char[8], 8, field->type);
case MYSQL_TYPE_YEAR:
return st_buffer_size_type(new char[2], 2, MYSQL_TYPE_SHORT);
case MYSQL_TYPE_TIMESTAMP:
case MYSQL_TYPE_DATE:
case MYSQL_TYPE_TIME:
case MYSQL_TYPE_DATETIME:
return st_buffer_size_type(new char[sizeof(MYSQL_TIME)],
sizeof(MYSQL_TIME), field->type);

case MYSQL_TYPE_TINY_BLOB:
case MYSQL_TYPE_MEDIUM_BLOB:
case MYSQL_TYPE_LONG_BLOB:
case MYSQL_TYPE_BLOB:
case MYSQL_TYPE_STRING:
case MYSQL_TYPE_VAR_STRING:
return st_buffer_size_type(new char[field->max_length + 1],
field->max_length + 1, field->type);

case MYSQL_TYPE_DECIMAL:
case MYSQL_TYPE_NEWDECIMAL:
return st_buffer_size_type(new char[64], 64, field->type);
#if A1
case MYSQL_TYPE_TIMESTAMP:
case MYSQL_TYPE_YEAR:
return st_buffer_size_type(new char[10], 10, field->type);
#endif
#if A0
// There two are not sent over the wire
case MYSQL_TYPE_ENUM:
case MYSQL_TYPE_SET:
#endif
case MYSQL_TYPE_BIT:
return st_buffer_size_type(new char[8], 8, MYSQL_TYPE_BIT);
case MYSQL_TYPE_GEOMETRY:
default:
// TODO: Andrey, there can be crashes when we go through this.
Please fix.
throw sql::InvalidArgumentException("allocate_buffer_for_field:
invalid rbind data type");
}
}

tells the connector which TYPEs to accept and how much buffer allocation to
allow for each one.

Now, it looks like I have to go on a hunt to find the offending unsupported
type in my view.

Note that the OSX mysql connector never relied on mysqlcppconn in the past (at
least, not on any of my builds), it was built against the MySQL C connector
source library only.

The default behaviour is for the build process to download (a patched)
libmariadb tgz, unpack it and then builds it internally from there. Can't think
what else it might need.

--- Comment #8 from Alex Thurgood  ---
allocate_buffer_for_field

is to be found in mysqlresult_bind.cpp in

/core/mysqlcppconn/unxmacxi.pro/misc/build/mysql-connector-c++-1.1.0/driver

#if A0
// There two are not sent over the wire
case MYSQL_TYPE_ENUM:
case MYSQL_TYPE_SET:

case MYSQL_TYPE_GEOMETRY:
default:
// TODO: Andrey, there can be crashes when we go through this.
Please fix.
throw sql::InvalidArgumentException("allocate_buffer_for_field:
invalid rbind data type");

so it would seem to be linked to the builtin version we ship internally ?

I use master sources and git update it almost every day.
I saw options concerning Mariadb in configure.ac but when I used them,
something (I don't remember what) was lacking. I'll be able to give console

Well, as I told you, you do the wrong edit for your goal. That might be a bug,
but with you, not with LibO.

And as long as you can't contribute the requested arguments, the bug will stay
INVALID, it does not matter what different status your select in the dropdown.

So please contribute comprehensible arguments or close the bug again.

#1  0x7fffc5643484 in ?? () from
/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/../program/libswlo.so

you are using a build configured with --enable-mergelibs

[Enables linking of big, merged, library. Experimental feature tested
only on Linux and Android.]

it is probably a bad idea do production builds with this enabled,
the binaries available on libreoffice.org certainly don't enable it
and we don't recommend Linux distros to do so.

so i'm removing the "regression" keyword for now since
there is no evidence that the problem exists in builds
that do not use experimental options.

Sorry Alex, I don't even know how to build with MariaDB. On pc Debian x86-64
testing, there's no package which name include "MariaDB" or just "Maria".
Now, if you know what options in autogen.lastrun + Debian package I would have
missed, I can give it a try.

LibreOffice for OS X is linked against /usr/lib/libssl.0.9.7.dylib which
doesn't support TLS server name indication.

libssl.0.9.8.dylib supports it.

Is there a cause why LibreOffice for OS X is linked against the older libssl?

Am poking around a bit more to find out where this message is coming from, but
it is a showstopper on me migrating to the libmariadb connector.

be JVM stuff since this pid/tid does stuff like:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62645] New: VIEWING - Libmariadb connector fails to display data in mysql server registered VIEW

2013-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62645

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 62645
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: VIEWING - Libmariadb connector fails to display data
in mysql server registered VIEW
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: ipla...@yahoo.co.uk
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

Tested Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID:
edf57013463eff6d3b40d8d5d933577f0e6cf8e)

After having gotten the new libmariadb connector to build on OSX, I am seeing
the following error when browsing my table list :

The data content could not be loaded.
allocate_buffer_for_field: invalid rbind data type

The SQL command leading to this error is:

SELECT * FROM "ipdatabase"."natpha_ddl"

natpha_ddl is a server registered view

It is built in the following way :
DROP VIEW IF EXISTS `natpha_ddl`;
CREATE OR REPLACE ALGORITHM=UNDEFINED DEFINER=`alex`@`%` SQL SECURITY DEFINER
VIEW `natpha_ddl` AS select `oldfmpro`.`File_Num` AS
`file_num`,`oldfmpro`.`Owner1` AS `Owner1`,`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Num` AS
`filing_num`,`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Date1` AS
`filing_date1`,`oldfmpro`.`Prio_FF_Date1` AS
`Prio_FF_Date1`,if(((`oldfmpro`.`Prio_FF_Date1` + interval 30 month) is not
null),(`oldfmpro`.`Prio_FF_Date1` + interval 30
month),(`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Date1` + interval 30 month)) AS `NATPHA` from
`oldfmpro` where ((`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Num` is not null) and
(`oldfmpro`.`Ctry_Short` = 'WO') and (`oldfmpro`.`IngJur` like '%ajt%') and
(`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Date1` >= (curdate() + interval -(30) month))) order by
if(((`oldfmpro`.`Prio_FF_Date1` + interval 30 month) is not
null),(`oldfmpro`.`Prio_FF_Date1` + interval 30
month),(`oldfmpro`.`Filing_Date1` + interval 30 month));

The display of the data in this view used to function flawlessly with the
previous mysql connector, so there must be some difference in the libmariadb
and mysql connector code which is causing this to happen.

The view functions normally in other software (MySQLWorkench, MySQLQuery
Browser).

That is not likely. When you uninstall LibreOffice your user profile will not
be reseted (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile). I totally
have no clue what the possible cause could be, except for a "buggy install".
I'm glad this is solved for you.

Therefore I mark this bug as VERIFIED WORKSFORME. (I can not reproduce this
behavior so this should be RESOLVED WORKSFORME, but because you (the reporter)
verify you can't reproduce it anymore I mark it as VERIFIED WORKSFORME.

Thanks for your time filing a bug.

Wrong word completion

Problem description: I start typing a word that I expect to be auto-completed
and add a space before auto-completion. If I cancel this space and start typing
again, "Word Completion" doesn't take into account what I already typed before.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new empty document
2. Type a long word like "abandon"
3. Type "ab" and space, cancel space, type "a" and watch (see screenshot)

Expected behavior: Word Completion function should be considering the whole
word (including what was typed before).

Additional comments:

#1: In LibO 3.6.4.3, Word Completion worked correctly.
#2: The word in question has been correctly saved when I check Extras,
AutoCorrect Options, Word Completion.

LO will have a formatting problem.

2.docx: This document originally was designed using Win Word in Windows

2.pdf. Nevertheless, opening it in LO still will looks like 2.docx when
opened now in LO. you can see the difference clearly.

I hope this will satisfy your query.

--- Comment #1 from Brenda Granados  ---
Hi, thank you for submitting a bug report. Here are the steps I followed to
reproduce your issue:

1. Create a new Writer document. Add text in the main body.
2. Add a few (3-4) endnotes. Insert -> Footnote/Endnote. Select Endnote.
3. Click on the page with endnotes.
4. Press F11 to pull up the Styles and Formatting window. Select Page Styles,
then highlight Endnote.
5. Right click Endnote -> Modify. Select 3 columns.
6. Click Apply and then OK.

Expected Result: Endnotes page split into columns.

Actual Result: The other pages are split into columns. The Endnotes page is
unaffected.

According to the LibreOffice wiki for Endnotes, the user should be able to
change the page style of the endnotes page by going to Styles and then Page. So
the above directions should work. I did find on the Inserting and Editing
Footnotes and Endnotes page of the wiki that you can alter page properties by
going to Format -> Page, and then selecting the Footnote tab. However, this
only accounts for things like the separator line, and the distance from the
main text, etc.

This is an annoying bug, but I think that the priority should be lowered. A
major bug is something that includes broken functionality to print, install
extensions, is tediously slow, or does not allow some documents to be opened. I
would consider this as normal- prevents a user from making professional quality
work. I hope you understand.

-Brenda

positive, parenthesis and thousands separators if negative).
2. Open this file in LibreOffice 4.0.1.2

Expected Result:

The formatting should be preserved

Actual Result:

The formatting is lost, just the number remains.

Unfortunately, I can't really attach the document since it contains
confidential information, and I couldn't reproduce it by just creating a one
cell excel document with that format code. I'll see if obsfucating the data is
at all possible, but that may take a little while.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62637] New: : Automatic Download and Installation Does not Work if Checked for Updates

2013-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62637

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 62637
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: : Automatic Download and Installation Does not Work if
Checked for Updates
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: harald-koes...@htp-tel.de
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: Installation
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

[1] Start LO and check for updates (Menu: Help → Check for Updates...). The
“Check for Updates” dialog is displayed with: „LibreOffice 4.0.1 is available.
…. The automatic download of the update is currently not available. … download
LibreOffice manually from the web site.“ The automatic download is not only
currently unavailable it's always unavailable. A user may assume that it will
be available later. Expected: Either it should not be suggestive, that an
automatic download is possible or better an automatic download is possible.

[2] Click “Download...” The LO download website page is opened with the
browser.

[3] Download LO from the website.

[4] After download the “Check for Updates” dialog is still displayed. But an
installation from this dialog is not possible, the Install button is greyed.
Expected: Installation starts by clicking “Install”.

Furthermore I miss how the installation of the offline help will be carried out
in this update process. At least the user should be informed that the help has
to be installed separately.

And furthermore, assuming that the Install button works, I wonder if the same
components are installed if a customer specific installation has been performed
earlier.

Created attachment 76901
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=76901&action=edit
Slideshow illustrating the bug. On the left side is the ellipse that is
animated, on the right side what the final result should look like.

Problem description:
When using the Change Line Colour effect a box with the new colour is drawn
around the object, no matter it's original shape. When using the Change Fill
Colour effect, the object changes into a rectangle with the new fill colour.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Add an ellipse object
2. Choose Custom Animation -> Modify Effect -> Add -> Emphasis -> Change Line
Colour
3. Pick e.g. green colour for the line colour in the animation sidebar
4. Choose Custom Animation -> Modify Effect -> Add -> Emphasis -> Change Fill
Colour
5. Pick e.g. red colour for the fill colour in the animation sidebar

Current behavior:
During presentation, click once to see a green rectangle around the ellipse
object. Click once more to see a red, filled rectangle.

Expected behavior:
Click once, see ellipse border change to green. Click one more to see ellipse
fill color change to red.
