[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63013] New: cursor and bullets

2013-04-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63013

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 63013
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: cursor and bullets
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: dm...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.1.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

1) The bullets are very sporadic in size and shape. They have a tendency to
NOT have continuity when you leave them and come back a paragraph or two later.

2) The cursor has a tendency every once in awhile to jump back up the page
several paragraphs whenever you pause your typing.

Both of these bugs are very annoying.

Thank you for your work on this project, and for considering these matters.

Still worked fine with Server Installation of LibreOffice 3.3.3 German
UI/Locale [OOO330m19 (Build:301) tag libreoffice-3.3.3.1] on German WIN7 Home
Premium (64bit)

[Reproducible] with Server Installation of LibreOffice 3.4.5 German UI [Build
ID: OOO340m1 (Build:502)] parallel Server installation on German WIN7 Home
Premium (64bit):

1. open attached sample document
shows top left rectangle with corner radius 5mm (ok)
shows rectangle below with corner radius 0mm (NOT ok)
2. For both rectangles:
   Rightclick - Position Size - Slant corner Radius - Radius = 15mm'
3. Save - Close - Reopen
Expected: Both modified rectangles with corner radius 15mm
Actual: only rectangle created with 3.3.3 with corner radius 0 !!!

It seems we changed the Corner Radius code with 3.4.?
In attached sample you find a rectangle with corner radius created with 3.3.3.
and below a rectangle with corner radius. You can edit radius in both
rectanangles with all versions starting with 3.4 (I started with 3.4.5), always
saving corner radius for 3.4.5 rectangle fails.
3.3.3 will not recognize a corner radius for 3.4.5 rectangle

I see the effect, but without the source with correct rectangles it's difficult
to find out what's happening there. A quick test with rectangles with rounded
corners from LibO 3.4.5 (WIN) did not show any problems in 3.6.5 amd 3.6.6

@Iddo
Plase use a document with undamaged rectangles or at least a step by step
instruction how to create a sample document with an older LibO Version.

 Hi,

Sorry for my late reply on your email. But it is better to reply at the bug
 report itself (browse to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60902).

Your email I received a while ago:

 -

 Hi !
The bug appeared suddently in my typing. Before happend next: on the end of a
word space appeared on the screen after word. After bug I pushed space bar
after word, but nothing happened. Space appeared on the screen after next
 typed
letter. The same happened after sentence. After dot was not space even I typed
it. To correct this missing I added a dot to next row. Then space appeares on
the screen normally. Matter does not exist any other programs than in Libre
Office Writer. Program is 4.0 Finnish language version. Every other features
 functions well.

 --

As far I can understand, I can not reproduce this behavior using Mac OSX
 10.8.3
with LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 rc. Therefore I mark this bug again as UNCONFIRMED.

 Kind regards,
 Joren

Example of wrong errorbar scaling in impress (left side) and correct scaling in
calc (right side).

Hello!

When copying a chart with y-errorbars from calc to writer or impress the
errorbars have a wrong scaling (see example image).
Using individual errorvalues for each data point the errorbars increase linear,
using a constant error for all data points the errorbars in the copy have a
size of zero. I have not checked on the other two errorbar types (percentage
value and one item of the drop-down box like standard deviation and so on).

Nanority

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Create chart with y-errorbars in calc.
2) Copy chart to writer or impress.

Actual Results:
Errorbars have wrong scaling in copy.

Expected Results:
Correct errorbar scaling as in calc.

Did you try to insert before the last sentence a manual break by Insert
Manual break Page break ?
Also because you are at the end of page, see in your paragraph settings,
particularly Format Paragraph Text Flow Options Orphan control or Widow

It's hard to tell you without the document itself what is convenient for.

Have a nice day,

since upgrade to LO4 this bug is present on my Arch Linux install (Gnome
desktop).

Basically, because of the fault outlined in the header, Calc is unusable.

When it happens (and how to re-create it):

Whenever I try to type a = or click Function (=) button to create a formula,
or change the existing one, Calc crashes. Happens with both existing and new
documents.

What I tried to get it fixed:

Renamed my LO profile, to force the creation of the new one.

Created brand new user account and tested there.

Neither of these help.

Ran Calc from terminal with command:

libreoffice --calc.

Upon the crash the following error displayed in terminal:

terminate called after throwing an instance of
'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException'

Output of uname -a :

If you need any extra info, or can suggest any steps to clarify the problem for
you, let me know, I'll be happy to assist.

Since C++11 non-member std::begin() and std::end() are available.

It would be nice:
- to have these being able to handle UNO Sequences too
- and then remove ::comphelper::stl_begin / ::comphelper::stl_end and use the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56015] Insane use of _PC_NAME_MAX

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56015

Heh, I wasn't aware we even had a bug for this :-)
Just to mention that in the mean time apparently all (relevant for LibreOffice)
systems use a sufficiently large dirent d_name size, e.g. of NAME_MAX+1, even
Solaris ...

Report fails also on my Linux-system. So I set the platform to All. It has
nothing to do with spreadsheet or text-document. Text-document fails also. So
we have to look which part of your document produces an error together with LO
4.0.2.
So I have deleted all groups and all functions and every content, which should
be shown from the table - the report didn't execute with LO 4.0.2, but did
with LO 3.5.7. I will test a little bit more.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63022] New: EDITING: Duplication of text in drag and drop of end-of-line to the following paragraph

2013-04-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63022

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 63022
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: Duplication of text in drag and drop of
end-of-line to the following paragraph
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: cwood...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.5.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: EDITING: In a body of text, select a portion of text that
contains an end-of-line, and then drag and drop the selection anywhere within
the following paragraph. This results in duplication of text.
The selection may consist of just the end-of-line of the preceding paragraph.
Drop it anyuwhere within the next paragraph, including at the end, and text is
duplicated.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create nine paragraphs of text (a minimum of five lines is required for
testing, but more allows for the testing of a selection consisting of multiple
paragraphs), i.e.:
Paragraph1.
Paragraph2.
Paragraph3.
Paragraph4.
Paragraph5.
Paragraph6.
Paragraph7.
Paragraph8.
Paragraph9.

2. Select from the start of paragraph 4 to the start of paragraph 7 so that the
end-of-line character of paragraph 6 is last in the selection.

3. Drag the selection and drop at the end of paragraph 7.

Current behavior: Paragraphs 4 and 7 are duplicated:
Paragraph1.
Paragraph2.
Paragraph3.
Paragraph7.Paragraph4.
Paragraph5.
Paragraph6.
Paragraph7.Paragraph4

Paragraph8.
Paragraph9.

Expected behavior: Paragraph 4 should only once appear appended to the end of
paragraph 7:
Paragraph1.
Paragraph2.
Paragraph3.
Paragraph7.Paragraph4.
Paragraph5.
Paragraph6.

Paragraph8.
Paragraph9.

The selection may also include a portion of the following paragraph. In the
above example, some of paragraph 7 could be included in the selection to be
dropped at the end of paragraph 7.
Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 3.6.5.2 release

1. Writing a single 40~50 kb document, doc or txt (it crashed on rtf, too)
2. Sometimes while Calc is open, but it crashes alone, too.
3. Sometimes working with it for hours, sometimes don't.

I am sorry, but I cannot give more details except that since I updated to 3.3
it's crashing every single time.

I am filling a bug report because I cannot complain nowhere else.

Libreoffice cannot read correctly RTF files, containing headers and footers,
written by itself. Verified in 3.6 and 4.0. Results of my testing are in the
attached zip file.

The problem is that in header also the text from footer appears and in footer
the text from header:see the file header-LO40.rtf.LO40.pdf

Apache OO 3.4 can correctly read its own similar rtf files and files produced
by LO (see header-AO34.rtf.AO34.pdf)

LO40/LO36 cannot read AO34 files correctly: header-AO34.rtf.LO40.pdf

LO can read correctly similar rtf files produced by MSO 2013:
header-MS13.rtf.LO40.pdf

Results of my testing are in the attached zip file. To reproduce:
1. in LO open the odt file
2. save as rtf and close LO
3. in LO open the rtf file

Names of the provided files mean:

header-LO40.rtf
means: The document was stored by LO40 to an RTF file.
header-LO40.rtf.AO34.pdf
means: The document was stored by LO40 to an RTF file. Subsequently the RTF
file was opened by AOO 3.4 and was saved to pdf.

Writer does not preserve position and wrapping of images in RTF files, written
by itself. Verified in 3.6 and 4.0. Results of my testing are in the attached
zip file.

The problem is that all images are aligned to left and wrapping is ignored.

I tested the document with LO36, LO40, AO34 and MSO2013. It is hard to describe
what is correct and when - therefore I attach a file insimage.pdf with all
combinations. On each page on left is the correct appearance (the file name in
blue) and on right is the rendered document.

Perhaps LO, AOO and MSO use two formats for writing and reading, which causes
this mess.

To reproduce:
1. in LO (msoffice) open the provided odt (docx) file
2. save as rtf and close LO (MSoffice)
3. in LO open the rtf file

Names of the provided files mean:

insimage-LO40.rtf
means: The document was stored by LO40 to an RTF file.
insimage-LO40.rtf.AO34.pdf
means: The document was stored by LO40 to an RTF file. Subsequently the RTF
file was opened by AOO 3.4 and was saved to pdf.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63029] New: Slide comments are lost when importing a slide into a different presentation

2013-04-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Summary: Slide comments are lost when importing a slide into a
different presentation
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: sean.car...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 rc
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

If a slide is imported into a presentation from another presentation, any
comments attached to the slide are NOT imported. I verified this behaviour
using the menu Insert File option as well as simply dragging a slide from
one presentation to another. In both cases, a comment attached to the imported
slide was lost.

Verified on both Linux x64 Windows.

The severity is debatable as many may not care about comments, yet this
behaviour does represent a subtle data loss which might not be immediately
noticed. Keep in mind that AFAIK importing slides from one presentation to
another is currently the only way to change the underlying slide template, so
this problem can impact entire presentations should a user need to change the
presentation template.

(In reply to comment #0)
 Since C++11 non-member std::begin() and std::end() are available.

But we cannot rely on them being available in our code base, which still needs
to compile with non-C++11 compilers. And breaking contracts by hacking
nonmember begin/end functions into those compilers' std namespaces in order to
get rid of comphelper::stl_begin/end is arguably not worth the trouble.

LibreOffice dialogs persist!

Problem is that LibreOffice ignores the unchecking!!!

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start LibreOffice-Writer. Select Tools/Options/LibreOffice/General
Uncheck Use LibreOffice dialogs. Quit LibreOffice. Relaunch LibreOffice. Open
file. Reboot Ubuntu if necessary and repeat procedure..
2.

memory/intelligence/custom folder aliases etc)

Expected behavior: System default Open/Save dialogs to be called as per every

The current ctrl-f find-bar is really nice, but it is missing the feature to
easily toggle the 'match case' feature that we find in the dialog.

The uiconfig/ files eg.

sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/findbar.xml

Specify the toolbar UI; the 'FindText' command we see implemented in:

svx/source/tbxctrls/tbunosearchcontrollers.cxx

I imagine to get a check-box embedded there we would need to add something
like:

css::uno::Reference css::awt::XWindow  SAL_CALL
FindTextToolbarController::createItemWindow( const css::uno::Reference
css::awt::XWindow  Parent ) throw ( css::uno::RuntimeException )

that wrapped a vcl/inc/vcl/button.hxx /CheckButton/

with a suitable legend.

I bibisect this one. I can confirm the loss of data/formula is a regression.
But the bug regarding not editable is already present in LibreOffice 3.5.0
(oldest bibisectable version).

The bibisection is based on the loss of data/formulas.

I agree with the priority High Critical.
Critical: data loss
High: our own file format + not reproducible by many users (should be medium
then, but because of the regression and our own file format - raise it a bit).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48344] CONFIGURATION: New OpenDocument Text uses different default page size

2013-04-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48344

--- Comment #2 from Jon Grossart j...@grossart.net ---
I started to notice this problem (I think it's the same one) starting with 4.0

Right click in Explorer to create a new document, and open new document. It
will be whatever LO has as it's original default document.

Since I changed my default document template, I would expect that to be used
for a new document.

Under the older releases, when you opened this blank document, it would
prompt to update styles from the default template, which would then work
correctly (even though it seems like an extra step that shouldn't be needed).

@ydutrieux - if you're saying that using the right click context menu and the
menu within LibO itself used different template setups, then that sounds like a
design issue, even if it's bug. How is a user going to know what template will
be used in that case? And since there is currently now way to alter the
template associated with a document, that is a problem.

hmm... this would need some sort of notification from the
cursor movement to the navigator dialog, probably indirectly;
i'd try defining an empty virtual method in SwCrsrShell
(since that one is used also in documents that don't have any UI)
that is called from SwCrsrShell::UpdateCrsr and with
an override in SwWrtShell... the SwWrtShell method then
updates the navigator (if it is active).

SwCrsrShell is in sw/source/core/crsr/crsrsh.cxx

but i'm not sure how to get the dialog...
the navigator is in sw/source/ui/utlui/navipi.cxx
apparently it's registered as a child window at SwView.

the outline list is apparently stored in a separate class
SwContentTree in sw/source/ui/utlui/content.cxx

SwContentType::FillMemberList

aha... so it works like this:
SwContentTree::HasContentChanged() is called from a timer
and updates the display. it could of course request the current
cursor position from SwWrtShell* pActShell and select something.
probably it's not even necessary to change SwCrsrShell at all.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56015] Insane use of _PC_NAME_MAX

2013-04-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56015

--- Comment #3 from Cesar Eduardo Barros ces...@cesarb.net ---
(In reply to comment #2)
Heh, I wasn't aware we even had a bug for this :-)
Just to mention that in the mean time apparently all (relevant for
LibreOffice) systems use a sufficiently large dirent d_name size, e.g. of
 NAME_MAX+1, even Solaris ...

If that is the case, why not just use struct dirent directly, backed by a
static assert to make sure it is large enough?

I drafted up a quick-and-dirty patch (not even compile tested) to show what I
mean, feel free to fix it up and submit to the repository.

By the way, while writing it I noticed a #ifdef AIX in one of the files. Does
LibreOffice still support AIX? If not, removing leftover AIX compat code is yet
another code cleanup opportunity.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63049] New: FILESAVE: Form field control properties not being saved in odg files

2013-04-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63049

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 63049
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: Form field control properties not being
saved in odg files
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: alain.trembl...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.1.2 release
 Component: Drawing
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 77346
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=77346action=edit
A simple odg file with form fields.

Problem description:
When creating a form in an odg file it will not save the form field control
properties, such as the background colour or the border of the form field.

This works in odt files, but not in odg files.

Important note: If you want to create a form on top of a pdf you can't use an
odt file, you have to use an odg file.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new libreoffice drawing
2. Make the form controls toolbar visible
3. Turn on design mode
4. Select the text box option from the tool bar
5. Create a text box
6. Right click on the text box and select Control...
7. In the properties box under the General tab change the Border style to
without frame
8. In the properties box under the General tab change the Background color to
green
9. Close the properties dialog box
10. Save the file you have created and close Libreoffice
11. Re-open the file and the properties you have set will not be there.

Note that I have also looked at the xml generated in content.xml - the
properties are not saved in this file for odg files, but are saved in odt
files. I even tried manually introducing these properties in an odg file's
content.xml, but when you open the odg file it ignores and removes these
properties.

Current behaviour:
broken

Expected behaviour:
works perfectly to increase the love of open source software ;-)

Operating System: Mac OS X
Version: 4.0.1.2 release
