[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61396] FILEOPEN: [Template Manager]Possibility to edit a template that is not in the repository, is lacking
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61396 --- Comment #13 from pierre-yves samyn pierre-yves.sa...@laposte.net --- Hi (In reply to comment #12) Hm, I can't reproduce that on 4.0 on Linux ... .txt files only show up when I select Text Documents as the filter. You're right, I was not specific enough. Steps to reproduce: 1. File Open Filters: All files (*.*) is selected, so you can see and... 2. Select your .txt file 3. Click the drop down list, down to the spreadsheet filters and 4. Select Text (*.csv) 5. Click Open The spreadsheet wizard starts to open the file in the spreadsheet. new Template Manager contains a cogwheel/Action menu, which could be extended to look like this: [ ] Reverse sort order Refresh --- Edit external template This could be a solution Additionally, something like Cor's idea (comment #7) could be implemented, although I don't know if either Ctrl or Shift are good modifiers (see comment above). To be honest I do not like this type of solution. Microsoft used it (I do not know if this is still the case) to change for example the Close menu (changed to Close All). My experience as trainer and support tells me that this feature was not intuitive and therefore unknown. I may be wrong ... [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63154] New: replace tools/solar.h macros with osl versions
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63154 Priority: medium Bug ID: 63154 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: replace tools/solar.h macros with osl versions Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: michael.me...@novell.com Hardware: Other Status: NEW Version: 4.0.1.1 rc Component: Libreoffice Product: LibreOffice Some of our oldest code uses the tools/inc/tools/solar.h header to do various things. Things like: #define _LF ((char)0x0A) #define _CR ((char)0x0D) Are poorly namespaced, and presumably under-used too, as well as being duplicated everywhere: basctl/source/inc/bastypes.hxx:#define LINE_SEP_CR 0x0D eg. presumably it'd be good to have these defined in sal in some sensibly namespaced way if they are not already, and uses those throught the code. Then we have these guys: #ifndef __cplusplus #ifndef min #define min(a,b)(((a) (b)) ? (a) : (b)) #endif #ifndef max #define max(a,b)(((a) (b)) ? (a) : (b)) #endif #endif #ifdef __cplusplus templatetypename T inline T Min(T a, T b) { return (ab?a:b); } templatetypename T inline T Max(T a, T b) { return (ab?a:b); } templatetypename T inline T Abs(T a) { return (a=0?a:-a); } #endif Which look (to me) as if they should be re-written to use std::min std::max etc. (I suspect) and then removed. These guys: tools/inc/tools/solar.h:#define EXTERN_Cextern C tools/inc/tools/solar.h:#define EXTERN_C should be in-lined at the tiny number of sites that macro is used and it should be removed. The SVBT16ToShort macros look like they could use each call site tweaking to use equivalent sal macros [ are they equivalent to OSL_NETWORD* ? ]. Anyhow - lots of good cleanup possible there. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61028] Problems with OOXML custGeom and arcTo command
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61028 --- Comment #2 from Radek Doulik r...@novell.com --- Loads OK in master, where we handle the G command OK. I cannot use the T command, because it doesn't cover all the functionality of drawingml arcTo command. So if I understand it correctly, the document was saved with newer LO which supports already G command and loaded in older LO it doesn't look the same (because it uses draw:enhanced-path which is there to not break older versions with unknown commands) That is expected behavior, in current version it should survive save/load cycle. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44462] Provide a proper 'File Association Manager' for the windows version of Libreoffice
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44462 --- Comment #6 from Charles tansta...@libertytrek.org --- Hi Joel, Thanks very much for picking up on this. It appears one thing has changed since I opened this Feature Request, is that using the right-clickopen with method does now apparently properly fix associations with the normal version of a document type (ie, .odt or .doc) also fixes the remplate version (ie, .ott or .dot) so they work as templates are expected to work. Also, I'd like to expand a little on the concept... First is the creation of the 'restore point' for the associations. This means that the installer (and the FAM itself) should always 'record' the current settings of the associations before changing them. I'd even suggest expanding this to having two different restore points: 'original' (this is the state they were in prior to the very first time Libreoffice changes them, whether this is at install time, or done manually via the FAM sometime thereafter), and then a 'previous' state, that would only be available after subsequent changes are made after the 'original' state was created. Second, is the ability to check and/or repair permissions on the registry entries that control the file associations the FAM will be managing. This is actually one of the things that I ran into myself during one of the first times I ran into a problem with the file associations. The permissions had somehow gotten messed up. I was able to fix/reset them manually when logged on with an admin account, so if I can do it manually, then Libreoffice should be able to do it automatically (again, as long as the user is logged on with a user account that has local admin privileges). Thanks again Joel... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I currently have LO 4.0.2-1 installed on Arch Linux on a new i7 computer with 16 MB of memory and lots of free disk space. I ran pacman -Syu yesterday morning. Steps to reproduce: I wish I could describe the steps. It just happens. Current behavior: The only symptom seems to be that Calc takes 10 - 15 seconds to save a file that it previously saved in 1 second. The most recent instance is a newly-created spreadsheet with two tabs. Each tab has two columns (one date and one numeric) and less than 60 rows of data with no formulas. When correctly saved, the file is less than 20 KB. After The Problem occurs, the saved file is 3.2 MB. When I reopen this large file, Calc ceases to respond and I have to kill the process; any other spreadsheets which are currently open are also rendered non-functional. This problem cropped up fairly recently (though I can't tell whether it reaches back to prior to the LO 4.0 installation) and has corrupted perhaps three or four files, some of which are brand new and some that I have used every day for many months. I have been able to recover all but one of the files with Excel 2010 on my wife's Windows 7 computer. When opening the 3.2 MB file that hangs Calc, Excel opens a dialog that reads: Excel found unreadable content in 'Weight.xlsx'. Do you want to recover the content of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click 'Yes'. Excel works several seconds after clicking Yes and opens another dialog that reads: Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content. Removed records: Cell information from /xl/worksheets/sheet2.xml part The log file that Excel offers contains: ?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8 standalone=true? - recoveryLog xmlns=http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main; logFileNameerror050480_01.xml/logFileName summaryErrors were detected in file 'E:\Weight.xlsx'/summary - removedRecords summary=Following is a list of removed records: removedRecordRemoved Records: Cell information from /xl/worksheets/sheet2.xml part/removedRecord /removedRecords /recoveryLog The spreadsheet is now workable in Excel, but Excel still saves it very large (~2.7 MB). After I delete all the columns to the right of the last populated cell and all the rows below it, Excel will save the file at a proper size: 11 KB. Calc will now also open it successfully. In one instance, I had to copy the data from the corrupt file and paste it into a new spreadsheet to resolve the problem. Expected behavior: Well, Calc should save files without mangling them. Sorry, but this seems obvious. I will later upload an offending 3.2 MB file, but my bug report has been rejected twice whentrying to include it originally. I found a similar problem for TAB type right (others not tested) at opposite direction, Alignment in cell will kept for Table - Text (becomes Tab type right), but lost for Text - Table. I will submit a separate bug for that. That never worked correctly in LibO / OOo at least back until 1.1.5., and also Symphony and OOo 4 fail. But SoftMaker FreeOffice does a perfect job with my enhanced test document I created based on reporter's. Not a big thing, but if SoftMaker can do that ... @Michael: Please change Status to ASSIGNED and add yourself to Assigned To if you accept this Bug or forward the Bug if it's not your turf -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
