Unfortunately I was not able to check, which extension could be a reason of the
problem. When I tried to reinstall extensions on Libreoffice 4.0, I got error
responses for the most of them. The list of extensions and error messages
follows below. However, now I don't have any problems with entering formulas.
So this error is gone, but switching to version 4.0 would lead to loosing of
some very useful extensions.

I tried to switch between java 1.7 and 1.8 during installation, but without any
effect.

Upgrading the software (bug 61098) might solve this problem, but that's just a

I can not reproduce problem with version 4.0.2 on Windows7-64Pro.

I tried both with standard Windows 7 theme as with Windows Classic.

On the Windows machine I work on (Windows XP and 7), I change the default
background colour to another colout than white. On all these, LibreOffice Calc
has white cell background colours, unless I change the background colour of the
cell(s). This has not changed recently as far as I can remember.

(In reply to comment #1)
> Hi,
>
> 1) Do you have any extensions installed?

Yes, it seems that Libreoffice 4.0 imports extensions installed on a
Libreoffice 3.6. There are quite many of extensions related to calc. Some of
them, like remove duplicates and solvit could not be installed on libreoffice
4.0

> 2) Is this crash still reproducible after a user profile reset (guide:
>

When I removed existing profile of libreoofice 4.0, the new profile contained
all of extensions installed on the libreoffice 3.6, some of the didn't work
(remove duplicates from those related to calc). When I tried to open existing
calc files with new profile, the most of them didn't opened at all. In some
cases I got permanent response that document is loading, in some cases it ended
with "Read-Error. An unknown error has occured." Writer documents at the same
time loaded fine.

I removed all of the extensions related to calc and the problem disappeared. I
also changed locale settings to the same that I had in Lilbreoffice 3.6. I'll
try to add the extensions to see, if the problem will appear again.

> If reproducible, please try to do a backtrace (guide:

Hi Marcus...

Could you please clarify this for me. Initially I thought that the problem was
that LibreOffice Calc formatting exceeded the capabilities of Excel 2007. But
after digging deeper, it seems that the LO output filter does not have the same
capability to translate the Sheet1 reference and the row offset that the input
filter does.

Why does it make sends to have the input filter handle this, but not the output
filter?

And why for Excel XP/2003, as well as 2007/2010?

Thanks,

...Karl

  Reporter: david.ro...@mcgill.ca

Created attachment 77568

An example of a zamzar PDF->ODT file that doesn't insert properly.

I have a project in which my coworkers send me pieces (preferably in .odt
compatible format) and I incorporate them into a unified document. The worst
part of what I have to do is to deal with PDF files
(The way I've dealt with this is to open them in draw and then copy&paste each
page into my ODT document).

Recently I've discovered zamzar.com, which seems to convert PDF->ODT in one
shot. Indeed, when I open the resulting ODT file in LO it looks right. Now
here's my problem:

I go to my master document (or an new, empty, one for that matter) and try to
insert the converted file
as Insert->file the text parts are inserted, but it seems that all the graphics
parts (as bitmaps I think) are not.

So again: opening the file to be inserted works as expected, but trying to
insert it into another document doesn't work quite right.

I'll attach the document in question.

What would be better would be a hack that allows LO to insert a multipage PDF
file, instead of having to copy and paste each page manually.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting.
Is it possible to attach the particular document to this bug report, so we can
try to reproduce this behavior? If it is to big, it is maybe still reproducible
if you delete as much information as needed to make it fit. If this file
contains confidential information, please consider to send it directly to me
(QA Core Volunteer). Your privacy will be respected, and the file will only be
sended to known QA Core Volunteers and developers.

Also additional information will be useful
1) do you have any non-default extensions installed?
2) does a user profile reset help
(https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resetting_the_user_profile)?
(make sure to reset both version 3 as well as version 4 user profile).
3) how long does it take to open the file using 3.6.x before the
uninstallation?

Kind regards,

My spreadsheet with data from laboratory, when you will find problem, which I
explained.

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Write to cell A1 4,01 or 2,86 or 1,92 or 1,36 or maybe other special (?)
numbers...
2. In A2 make formula =A1-INT(A1)
3. In A3 make formula =A2*10
4. In A4 make formula =A3-INT(A3)
5. In A5 make formula =10*A4
6. In A6 make formula =A5-INT(A5)
7. A6 equals 1, which is wrong, because it should equals 0 !!!
8. Check in other cell, that [A5 number]-INT([A5 number])=0. Do not copy
formula from A5! Write number from A5 again, using keyboard.
9. Now replace INT with TRUNC([cell];0) and cry when you get 1 instead of 0
!!!

Current behavior: In some cases you get wrong number.

Expected behavior: Mathematical behavior, which is: If x belongs to natural
numbers, x-INT(x)=0

I don't know, whether this problem exists in other versions of Calc and which
is the latest proper-working version, if any.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting.

I can not reproduce a crash using Linux Mint 14 x64 with LibreOffice Version
4.0.2.2 (Build id: 4c82dcdd6efcd48b1d8bba66bfe1989deee49c3).

1) Do you have any extensions installed?
2) Is this crash still reproducible after a user profile reset (guide:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resetting_the_user_profile)?

If reproducible, please try to do a backtrace (guide:

so we have a bit more information about the crash.

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

Thanks for reporting.

(In reply to comment #0)
each time I started with style I had to click on
> the list of available views and select hierarchical

I think that is fixed now in Bug 61429. It'll be fixed int the next LibreOffice
release (version 4.0.3).

> My proposition would be an option in properties which would allow selecting
> default view of styles upon startup or remembering last used view.

Because this was a bug regarding the hierarchical filter (doesn't remember the
option) and it is fixed now, I think we can close this request?

@Harald Koester,

Could you please upload a web-friendly (png/svg/etc..) version of the mockups?
(Feel free to put them all in one document, if you like). At least for me, that
would make it easier for me to glance at how these would look.

Thanks!

Agree.

A user on the Ask site was confused by the Download layout and believed that he
had to use bittorrent to download LibreOffice:

http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/15675/test-number-for-2x-in-calc/?answer=15763#post-id-15763

@rcw writes:
"The new LibreOffice download seemed to require Torrent if I didn't want to
build my own downloader."

I think the Download page/button definitely needs an update for usability.

Hey Michael - apprently you did some work on gstreamer support. Seems like
gstreamer 1.0 support is causing this problem. Arch is built with 1.0 support
and we're seeing this delay on Debian also which is same, directly from
LibreOffice.org we're defaulting to obsolete 0.10 and it works fine.

Thoughts?

ok, looking at Archs packages package
(https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/libreoffice-common/) it seems
they use also gstreamer 1.0 (see the
https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/gst-plugins-base-libs/ linked
from there).

so it might work with gstreamer 0.10 but not with gstreamer 1.0...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63193] : LibreOffice Website "Pre-Release" download page needs updating

2013-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63193

Just to be clear,

You are saying that the "Pre-release" page automatically updates itself once
all the mirrors are updated and there is no need to remove any "RC's" that are
showing; The removal of the text and RC versions is an automated process.

If this is the case we should put a "Cautionary" note on the pre-release page
that this is the case. I thought that the page was being updated manually and
that for many of the past versions, we have had reminders from members to
update the pre-release page as it had not updated itself promptly.

If the page is not updated manually, then we need to find a process whereby the
person in charge of updating is warned when a final version is released. I
thought that a Bug warning that would also be posted on the "Website" list
would be sufficient enough to warn the person in charge of the changes.

Obviously an automated process would be the ideal.

Marc

we don't patch video stuff.

(and TBH I con't share the opionion of the severity - in contrast consider it
unprodessional - as you name it - to have videos in presentations)

Anyway, the only difference we *do* have is: we use --enable-gstreamer (not
--enable-gstreamer-0-10 as upstream does) and this we use gstreamer 1.0, not
0.10. That then would still be a upstream (or a specific bug in the used
gstreamer version), though.

Package with Presentation & Video

This bug so far is only seen for non upstream packages (ie. build packages).
Has been confirmed both for Arch Linux and for Debian build taken from Debian
(ie. not from LibreOffice.org).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Ensure you have a build of LibreOffice that is packaged through your distro
(Debian good bet as it's already verified, but Arch as well seems to be the
case).

2. Download and unpack zipped file to a folder

3. Open presentation

4. Slide 1 describes problem quite well

5. Go to slide 2

Result:
10-30 second delay

Expected:
No delay

This works flawlessly from upstream and in master

Very annoying. The only workaround is to use other apps, like gedit for

LibreOffice repo rpm installs of 3.6.6 and 4.0.2 work for me on Fedora 18 with

a Unity or possibly a GTK+ issue?

The document it recovers is blank (no content), possibly because it was created
through the "missing access rights" dialog.

Steps to reproduce (requires uneditble document):
1. Open document in LibreOffice
2. Right mouse click anywhere in document->"Edit"
3. Dialog pops up: "This document cannot be edited, possibly due to missing
access rights. Do you want to edit a copy of the document?" -> Yes
4. Modify the document created by step 3.
5. Power down computer without saving changes.
6. Restart computer and open LibreOffice. When asked whether to restore
documents, click yes.
7. A blank document is opened.

Current behavior:
LibreOffice opens a blank document after restoring a document.

Expected behavior:
LibreOffice should restore the modified document (step 4.)

My original comments seem to have been lost when I attached the .odt file.

The xxx.odt file has four comments, three of them highlighted (i.e., text
selected, then a comment added, resulting in highlighted text next to the
comment pointer.

xx.odt was successfully save by LO. But making any change now causes the error.
Add a single character, then backspace, and you can't save the file again.

Correct, I can confirm the context menu will no longer show INDEX ENTRY after
it was destroyed.

I can also confirm that if you move between the index entries with the arrow
keys it will clobber additional index entries. To reproduce this you need to
use the large arrows in the bottom right, not the small arrows next to the
LEVEL field.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63233] New: EDITING FORMATTING: Using "Text to columns" causes crash

2013-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63233

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 63233
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING FORMATTING: Using "Text to columns" causes
crash
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: michaelh10...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.5.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Spreadsheet app crashes after trying to convert a cell of text, to columns of
data using menu item Data -> Text to columns...

Reproduce:
1) Open a new spreadsheet.
2) Copy the following text: 02/17/2013 15:05:09 18546
3) Paste text into a cell (Ctrl-v)
4) Select from menu: Data -> Text to columns...

Actual Results:
Crash. Application disappears.
Info: soffice.bin was killed by signal 6 (SIGABRT)

Expected Results:
The one cell of text converted to two columns of data: Column 1 would be date
and time; Column 2 would be the numeric value 18546 (from example above).

Build Date & Platform:
Gnome desktop Version 3.6.3
Fedora 18, kernel: 3.8.4-202.fc18.x86_64 #1 SMP
LibreOffice Fedora Build ID: 3.6.5.2-8.fc18

Additional Builds and Platforms:
Also occurred with a previous recent build of LibreOffice.

Note: Issue originally discovered when copying data from a web page, then using
EDIT -> Paste Special, to paste and convert to column data and properly format
the date field. Have narrowed issue down to the "Text to columns..." menu
function.

(there is already similar one
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60871 but it is a regression and
I'd like to propose a feature)

I've been using LibreOffice for a long time and for all that time one thing was
particularly annoying - each time I started with style I had to click on the
list of available views and select hierarchical (which is more intuitive for
me) and then start to do anything.

My proposition would be an option in properties which would allow selecting
default view of styles upon startup or remembering last used view.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62442] OSX 10.8.3 refuses to open LibreOffice

2013-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62442

Hello,

The bug on the English dictionaries by default and French v4-10 is real
whith LibreOffice_4.0.2_MacOS_x86.dmg, on MacOsX 3.8.3 and 10.6.8.

I found the bypassing to install LibO 4.0.2 + FR on MacOsX 3.8.3
1. Verify that there is not a track anymore of LibO in particular images-disks
which would have been protected:
Open the disk utility of Mac and look at the rightbanne.
Delete the images-disks residual.

2. Then, work only at the level of the file Application and open the files only
with the touch ctrl pushed and click on the Open command as well for the
installation of the file of language as the launch of LibO.

In fact the simple double click on the file creates the message "damaged" on
the place of the message " impossible to launch " of the new Apple protection .

Regression with compared with 4.0.1 all the same.

The program works except for the indicated bug.

Thank you and by hoping for the resolution of the problem of the extensions of
languages
