new title of the report is misleading for a user of LO, but the content is the
same.

@reporter:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information we will
need to reproduce your problem is missing.
May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem?
Please add all information requested in following:
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
sample document in an other Bug with a link; to attach a file to this
bug report, just click on Add an attachment right on this page.
- Contribute a document related step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem
(similar to example in Bug 43431)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
  (attachment 68877, attachment 68490)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
-- concerning your PC (video card, ...)
-- concerning your Operating System (Language)
-- concerning your LibO localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
(video hardware acceleration, Experimental features enabled, ...)
-- how you launch LibO and how EXACTLY you opened the sample document
–- Whether your problem persists when you renamed your user profile
before you launch LibO (please see
 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#User_profile_location)
-- Whether that worked in former LibO Verions or AOOo / OOo
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Not a valid bug report, but a user error.
There is no Picture embedding in HTML document. On the target PC the linked
picture is not available, and so of course it will not be shown. If on the
target PC a lu74wqv2_tmp_m7cd36300.gif is available in the same folder as the
html document it will be shown in the document.
I do not know any help or other manual promising that local pictures will be
mailed additionally with a mailed HTML document.

@Ferry Toth
Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately you are wrong here, this is our Bug
tracking system, not a helpdesk! You can get assistance on
http://ask.libreoffice.org/questions/
or on the public users mailing list us...@libreoffice.org, a mailing list
from http://www.documentfoundation.org/contribution/#lists or
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Local_Mailing_Lists

Please feel free to reopen this Bug if discussion with other users leaded to an
assessment that we have a LibO bug with a current LibO Version and a clear and
comprehensible description of the problem due to
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport. In any case please use LibO
Menu 'Help - Feedback/Bugreport' for bug reports!

And please attach documents using Add an attachment (proposed patch, testcase,
etc.) function instead or citing source code.

I often lose style information on in new slides.
I can 100% reproduce it.
1) Copy the last slide
2) Save it
3) Reopen it, and the title style is gone and is now on standard.
I can upload you a example file.

There is definitely a style problem in Impress.
If I copy all slides into a new empty odp file I also lose all title style
information.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63496] New: Comments in .doc files lose their highlights when a document is saved, closed and then re-opened.

2013-04-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 63496

document is saved, closed and then re-opened.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: coffeetastesawes...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem: A new feature added to LibreOffice is the ability to highlight words
or sentences and attaching a comment to them versus simply having the commented
area pointed out with an arrow. This works until the .doc document is saved,
closed and re-opened. When that happens the comments revert back to how they
previously were, that is, just being underlined not highlighted.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new document, type some text.

2. Highlight the text and insert a comment. The text will be highlighted and
your comment will appear in the page margin with an arrow point out the
comment.

3. Save the document as a .doc file and close LibreOffice Writer.

4. Re-open the .doc file.

5. The comment remains but it is no longer highlighted.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63206] EDITING: Frequent crashes with simple editing

2013-04-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63206

Ok, my report:

Programs I use that potentially cause this:
-RightZoom
-Cinch
-Witch
-SmoothMouse

Disabling Enable support for assistive devices, which should disable all of
them, fixes the problem. So I enabled it again.

Enabling all four programs: Calc crashes frequently.

Disabling only smoothmouse: Calc crashes still.

Disabling: cinch and smoothmouse: Calc stops crashing.

That is, it seems like Cinch is the bad guy. Too bad, because I really like
using it.

I've enabled smoothmouse again just now, but I suspect that won't result in new
crashes.

Thanks again for the help.

Hm, I have some problems to understand the problem. I simply _see_ the text
leading in cloud in black color in 'Outline' and 'Notes' view for Sample
Document 2013-04-12 15:36 UTC, Emily Maher. So for me not the printing, but
the VIEWING seems to be buggy?
Under WIN I see that already with OOo 2.0.2, and that seems to be the same as
AOOo#76266 - Notes view does not inherit the forground text color of normal
view.

@Emily, Joel
Is me expectation concerning the core of the problem correct?

@reporter:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information we will
need to reproduce your problem is missing.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if you find out that the problem still
exists with the current stable LibreOffice version and if you can contribute
requested additional information due to hints on
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport.

If you want to reopen this Bug please add all information requested in
following:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
sample document in an other Bug with a link; to attach a file to this
bug report, just click on Add an attachment right on this page.
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
(video hardware acceleration, Experimental features enabled, ...)
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
–- Whether your problem persists when you renamed your user profile
before you launch LibO (please see
 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#User_profile_location)
-- Whether that worked in former LibO Verions or AOOo / OOo
–- If you can contribute an AOOo Issue that might be useful

That is the file I said.

Hi,
I am typing an document and try to translate it into chinese.
So firstly I was typing the structure out with the Heading 1 , Heading 2
etc,and then it could help me create a document map (as the MicrosoftOffice
Word ViewDocument map) in the Navigator window.

I was new to Ubuntu 12.04 (LTS) and use the default version 3.5.X (I dont
remember clearly) to type the structure already and save the file as docx(I
hope it could be opened with MicrosoftOffice Word)

Today, I see there is the newest version on the Internet Libre Office 4.0.2.2
so I download them , remove the old version and then install the 4.0.2.2 with
below command:
1) Remove
sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice*
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoremove
2) Install
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
It install successfully , but when I want to continue typing this file I found
I lose my Document map in the Navigator, but the text in the file is still in
Heading 1 format , but in Navigator window I cant found the Document map
tree.

I could see the Document map tree in the Navigator window with a new
LibreOffice Writer file version 4.0.2.2..

Now I just want to recover the tree~~~so that I wont type it again...
Please help and @me fine@hotmail.com Thanks!

Normal - while this is technically a loss of data, it's quite minor as the
comment placement still shows near the word, just doesn't highlight the entire

Have you tried clicking on more than one character in the table? With each
click you append the character to the string below the table, and 'OK' inserts
the whole string. It's different from MS Office, but not hard to get used to
IMHO.

Clicking on a character in the table appends it to the string to be inserted,
so it is easy to add an unwanted character. However, the 'delete' button
deletes the whole string, which is not only unintuitive, but also frustrating,
because most of the time one just wants to undo the last addition, and not to
restart from the beginning.

Simply do not understand much of the conversations, relating to the listed
duplicates, so apologise if this is, in fact, a duplicate.

I have not had a similar problem in previous versions - mine is Version 3.6.5.2
(Build ID: 5b93205)

My conditional formatting problems seem to be two-fold.

1) When 'deleting content' (text only) from cells containing conditional
formatting this also is removed.

2) When copying a cell with conditional formatting to a range of other cells,
the conditional formatting appears or doesn't appear, apparently randomly, in
the target cells - seemingly never the same twice.

I would have expected:

1) ONLY the text content to be removed.

2) The conditional formatting to be copied to ALL cells with adjustments to the
relative addressing.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63511] New: EDITING: Bibliography index

2013-04-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63511

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 63511
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: EDITING: Bibliography index
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: clicks...@yahoo.co.uk
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
Removing or adding elements from/to the structure line for all Type list
entries except Book, has no effect on the table produced.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start a new text document and add a paragraph of text.
2. Insert any Bibliography entry (Insert Indexes and Tables Bibliography
Entry), using the 'From bibliography database' option.
3. Select Insert Indexes and Tables Indexes and Tables.
4. Select Bibliography in the 'Type' drop-down list.
5. Select the 'Entries' tab.
6. The 'Type' list defaults to 'Article'. Retain this setting.
7. Remove elements from the structure line, such as 'Sh' and 'Ye', by clicking
on each and then pressing 'Remove'.
8. Click the 'OK' button to insert the table.

This behaviour is the same for all list entries in the 'Type' list on the
'Entries' page except for 'Book'.

Current behavior:
The table is inserted with all the default elements included in the table.

Expected behavior:
The table should be created with only those elements selected in the structure
line.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63513] New: Crash after setting new default template via template manager

2013-04-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63513

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 63513
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Crash after setting new default template via template
manager
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: heinzless...@gmail.com
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

How to reproduce:

Prerequisite:
If you are on Linux, make sure you have installed the presentation
   backgrounds for Impress.

1. Open LibreOffice
2. Open the Template Manager via File New Templates
3. Go to the Presentations tab
4. Open the Presentation Backgrounds folder
5. Single-click any of the files in the folder to select it
6. Click the Set as Default button in the toolbar
7. Close the Template Manager
8. In the menu, choose File New Presentation
= Result: Crash

I can reproduce this on:
* my own Linux build (Open-SUSE 12.2, x86-64; ca. Apr 10, 2013)
* on a Windows tinderbox build (Windows 8, x86; Apr 8, 2013; tinderbox
Win-x86@6)

* * *

It does seem to have something to do with the Presentation backgrounds itself,
as the following cases don't lead to a crash:
* basic .ott file (= blank document with some text inserted) set as default
  template for Writer
* basic .otp file (= same as above) set as default template for Impress

Also note that simply opening a presentation background from the template
manager by double-clicking it does not lead to a crash.

Screenshoot of the Extension Update Dialog (taken from the OpenOffice
Documentation)

Selecting an extension update in the Extension Update dialog which is ready
to be installed will show the message No descriptions available for this
extension. As described in
http://www.openoffice.org/specs/appwide/packagemanager/online_update_for_extensions.odt
(see page 18)
this text is the default if no other text is to be displayed. The other
possible text for this field are actually error message like No write
permission (shared extension).

It appears as if an extension developer has no possibility to provide an
extension description for this field (is this correct? if not, how can I
provide such a description).

The message should be changed to something positive. Instead of No
descriptions available for this extension use This extension update is ready
to be installed.

(In reply to comment #4)
leads to a completely unresponsive app on areas this is selected. Hm.

What do you mean with that? With quite the same patch, my application still
respond the same as without it (so no regression/other behavior). (see
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/3376/ )

(In reply to comment #5)
Tested with 3.3 final on Windows 7: The cursor is visible for 10-20 seconds,
before it vanishes. Seems to be way too long as well, but at least it
 vanishes.

Same on Mac OSX now, with that patch.

Kind regards,
Joren

Assigning to floeff as he did the work, and closing as WORKSFORME as there is
still stuff to tweak on the solution. ;)

Thanks MJK for setting the Platform to All. I have now been able to test this
with v4.0.2.2 under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64, MacOS 10.6.8, and Win7HP. All
platforms exhibit the behaviour as described in comments #0 and #1.

Can this bug therefore be closed? It is really just the workflow / behaviour
that is different and requires learning.

--- Comment #3 from mariosv mari...@miguelangel.mobi ---
Hola Luis Guillermo,

No need to create a new report, it is much better to add the comment about the
version in the initial report, otherwise the system would become uncontrollable
by the large number of reports and very difficult to control each bug spread by
several reports. Allowing developers to know what is the first version with the
bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63519] New: EDITING: Commented sentences are considered as read-only elements when copied if a comment was associated, can't be deleted

2013-04-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63519

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 63519
  Keywords: regression
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: Commented sentences are considered as
read-only elements when copied if a comment was
associated, can't be deleted
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: alexandre.f.dem...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
Commented sentences (a single character or a full sentence to which a comment
was added) are considered as read-only elements and can't be deleted if they
were moved or copied in the text. The comment itself can be deleted, the
characters in the sentence can be deleted, but the two tags (begin and ending)
can't be deleted because they are forming a read-only element.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select a word and attach a comment on it.
2. Select the word, copy it and paste it somewhere else.
3. Try to delete the copied word.

Current behavior:
Its content can be deleted, so can be the comment itself. However, if you
remove the comment, the sentence will be highlighted in grey. This can't always
be deleted.

Expected behavior:
It shouldn't be considered as a read-only element and it should be possible to
delete it anytime.
Operating System: Linux (Other)
Version: 4.0.2.2 release
Last worked in: 3.6.0.4 release

mimimimizk,
I am running version 4.0.2.2 of LibreOffice Writer on Debian Linux (Testing)
and opening the .rtf file the Japanese text appears fine. Please provide
information about your Operating System type and version and what Japanese font
you're using. It may well be an issue with your system's Japanese font.

I had similar problems with Japanese text in the past on Linux and had to
install a new font to resolve the problem. The font I had to install was
ttf-vlgothic.
