seemed not to work, but I needed to rebuild bibligraphy, so I reinstalled

now I don't use LOdev, but 4.0.2.2 (Build ID: 4.0.2.2 Arch Linux build-3).

--- Comment #12 from Tor Lillqvist tlillqv...@suse.com ---
There are no 32-bit master builds because nobody has volunteered to produce
such builds. There is no central authority that decides what nightly builds to
produce and then delegates that tasks to underlings. It is quite the opposite;
anybody can run a tinderbox, and if he or she seems at least a bit reliable,
can be allowed to upload daily builds for redistribution (I assume; I am not
even a member of TDF).

In other words, if you have a suitable Mac and and maybe a dozen of gigs of
disk space available, you could well run a tinderbox yourself and upload
dailies.

Hi. Thank you for submitting a bug report. I tried to reproduce this issue
with LibreOffice Writer using version 4.0.3.1 on Ubuntu 13.04. I opened 2
.doc files, and then opened a .docx file. I am able to save, close, and edit
any of the documents normally. For this reason, I am marking this bug as

If this is still an issue for you, you can REOPEN the bug with any extra
information (such as specific version of Ubuntu you are using, and sample
documents which result in the freeze).

FWIW, problem can be reproduced when building without --enable-debug or
--enable-dbgutil, using MSVC. Just rebuilding sw with debug=t makes the problem
go away, however ENABLE_SYMBOLS=y still reproduced the problem.

Can't reproduce on 4.0, so closing without a backport.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46055] : Support GPOS kerning

2013-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46055

--- Comment #9 from Christian Herzberg mailchri...@gmail.com ---
(in reply to comment #4)
Can you describe what kind of volunteering you need. So maybe
someone can do this or we can ask on the lists.

I asked Phillip from Linux libertine about what someone could do to get
GPOS-Kerning works in LibreOffice:

* implement the OpenType [1] specification [2] von Adobe and MS for glyph
positioning (GPOS) Kerning Feature

[1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenType
[2] http://www.microsoft.com/typography/otspec/default.htm

It seems a good idea to work on the following at the same time
* implement glyph substitution (GSUB)
* implement more features from the specs
* do programming on the kerning-maschine in LibreOffice

The Pango developers implement some of this features to complete the l18n for
all systems of fonts. May be some things that are not LibreOffice specific
could flow together to help other projects like Scribus or Pango (an open
source multilingual text rendering engine). May be we don't have to do all
things twice.

Thanks a lot for all efforts

 Hi Manik,
good to see you working on this.
can you send a 'git diff' of what you've done together with your question to
 the Mailing List?
There you get more attention than here.

I hope I'm not disturbing you, I just wanted to confirm before disturbing a
whole lot of more people if my approach was acceptable.
I had earlier removed the Job which meant that once Listener was activated (On
startup) it looked if the Enable Presentation Screen was checked and
accordingly added or ignored the Job.
Now I have moved the condition to the actual event listener function

void SAL_CALL PresenterScreenListener::notifyEvent( const
css::document::EventObject Event ) throw (css::uno::RuntimeException);

And only initialised the presenterScreen object if object is enabled which now
works flawlessly. I followed the norms and the function which checks if the
option is enabled is defined in presenterScreen interface and implemented in
presenterScreen implementation and uses presentationConfiguration and existing
context.

Chapter from a book with 26 end notes.

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. develop document with footnotes or endnotes
2. save as .doc or .docx - everything will appear normal.
3. close and reopen and the end notes numbered above 9 (i.e. double digits)
will be reformatted to 1 0. The references at the end will show 1 0 [tab] text
of endnote.

Current behavior: deforming footnote references if they have double digits

Expected behavior: maintaining the formatting.

Operating System: Windows 7

(In reply to comment #1)
Is that really a problem for the extension website? Isn't it more a bug in
 the program itself?

No, indeed.

This will probably fixed with commit
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=ca3fa2a210cc6978dc75566ff453c9138ab9c094
and
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=6faa622c13969ff198b471b0550aacf10b5baa57
. Therefore it is most probably a DUPLICATE of Bug 63498. If this isn't fixed
in Release Candidate 2 of version 4.0.3, or in the final 4.0.3 version itself,
please mark this bug as REOPENED.

Kind regards,
Joren

Thanks for reporting.

I can reproduce this behavior using Mac OSX 10.8.3 with LibreOffice 4.0.3.1.

Opening this SVG file result in a crash. I'll attach the crashlog. Most
probably not a Mac OSX-only bug.

--- Comment #4 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu ---
Adding bug 35785 (faulty jump list behavior) to the see also list-- because for
the Windows builds work on isolating the various LibreOffice component modules
of the soffice.exe will be necessary for more granular control of the Recent
Documents Lists and of Windows 7 Jump lists features.

On Windows builds, looks like work for this enhancement will require rework of
Windows default SHAddToRecentDocs calls, or the introduction of customized
ICustomDestinationList Windows handling of the LibreOffice AppIDs.

Also as this enhancement evolves, conflicts are possible between the Windows OS
tracking of recent documents and the LibreOffice registry handling of recent
documents. The two mechanisms will need to be adjudicated.

Hi kuko!

Thanks for taking your time reporting this issue.
First of all, I think it's important to upgrade your LibreOffice to a more
stable version. As far I can see you are using 4.0.0.1, which is the first
release candidate of a point zero version. This version (the point zero
versions) are only recommended for testing purposes, and does contain some
regressions etc.

So, to determine it is already solved or not it is interesting to test the
latest version (4.0.2) (http://www.libreoffice.org/download), or even the
current release candidate of version 4.0.3
(http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/). A guide to install:
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/installation/linux/

If this problem is still reproducible using mentioned versions, please provide
some detailed steps how we can reproduce your behavior. For example:
* create a new presentation
* Insert picture from file ...
* ...

Thanks for retesting and your time
Joren

I tested with 4.0.3 RC1, and still encounter basically this problem. This is
what is printed on the command line.

** (soffice:2601): WARNING **: Unknown type: GailWindow

(soffice:2601): Gdk-CRITICAL **: IA__gdk_screen_get_monitor_geometry: assertion
`monitor_num screen_x11-n_monitors' failed

** (soffice:2601): WARNING **: Invalidate all children called

The presentation screen is displayed in a tiny box, rather than a 0 width box,
but its still unusable.

From that assert, it seems like whichever monitor impress thinks its displaying
on is larger than the number of monitors on the system, and then it is reading
uninitialized memory or past array bounds and finding incorrect monitor size
values.

I know once upon a time, when both my laptop screen and another screen were
attached, I switched which screen would be the presentation window and which
screen would be the presenter preview.

Is there some logic missing that says when the user has asked for the main
display to be display 2, but total system displays 2, then use display
1?

Sorry for the pure speculation...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64028] New: Calc forgets cell format whenever ^X is used to change a cell

2013-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64028

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64028
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Calc forgets cell format whenever ^X is used to change
a cell
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mrzen...@gmail.com
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

This has happened now at least five times in a row.

I use ^X to cut the contents of a cell to transfer it to another cell, and Calc
forgets what the format in that cell was. I have to reformat the cell to get
it back.

Most of my Calc cells are formatted for currency, with a few exceptions, all in
the same spreadsheet.

This is really irritating and totally wrong.

Please fix.

Thank you.

Joren, I notice you said you couldn't reproduce the error on 4.0.3 (which is
pre-release). I'm using the 4.0.2.2 release. I'm downloading the 4.0.3 version
now. I highly doubt a the 4.0.3 version will fix my problem, but it's worth a
try

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64030] New: EDITING: LO crashes when using mouse wheel

2013-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Summary: EDITING: LO crashes when using mouse wheel
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: ssack...@adaxa.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: Writer 4.0.2.2 crashes when using mouse wheel on a windows
xp box that has been running many versions of LO for a long time without
problems.

Steps to reproduce:
1. loaded a ~70 page document that was created in LO Writer and has been
edited may times before in earlier versions of LO
2. edit some text, scroll the wheel down rapidly
3. LO dies without warning or notice.

Current behavior: ..as above .. has crashed maybe 10 times in last two hours.
Not able to trigger the crash at will but it is definitely related to scrolling
.. the screen seems to freeze, sometimes multiple instances of a single line(s)
are briefly displayed then the whole application dies. File recovery works as
expected.

Expected behavior: ...

thanks..

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46719] UI: Show unused styles

I would like to draw the attention to the AskLibO entry
http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/2196/wish-purge-unused-styles/?answer=16767#post-id-16767

What is discussed there appears to me slightly different from this bug report
but closely related and could possibly be tackled in one development work.

Just another bug:
Bug 60967 - EDITING: Table shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Del ineffective cannot delete
following paragraph of a table
Bug 33631 - Can't remove new line after table

Which in turn may be workaround of this:
Bug 42504 - [FILEOPEN] delete empty paragraph after table → table disappears
after saving in .doc format

Print to a Canon inkjet printer, works as well. Possibly a printer issue or a

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58838] : =A1= returns TRUE when A1 does not contain a blank

2013-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58838

--- Comment #2 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
Created attachment 78588
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=78588action=edit
Example spreadsheet showing comparisons

I am not sure if this constitutes a confirmation of this bug or not. I agree
with mariosv that the EXACT() function is the preferred method for string
comparison. It would seem to me that comparisons via raw equality (equals sign)
of the empty string with CHAR() and UNICHAR() output are, for some reason,
variable i.e., dependent upon the character in question being compared.

In the attached spreadsheet there are columns for comparison of CHAR() output
for characters 0 through 256 (one extra to be certain) against a NULL cell, an
empty string cell, and a cell that has been edited (for curiosity sake). This
is repeated again for UNICHAR() output for the same range. A comparison of the
results of these tests is then made i.e., NULL result for CHAR() test against
NULL result for UNICHAR() test.

I have conducted these tests under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 running TDF LO v.3.5.7.2
and TDF LO v4.0.2.2. There is no difference in output between the LO versions.
As can be seen in the attachment most empty string tests return a FALSE value
that is the same as that returned for a NULL value. There are some characters
though (0-8, 14-31, 127, 249-251, 254-255 for the CHAR() function and 0-8,
14-31, 127-132, 134-159 for the UNICHAR() function) that return a TRUE value. I
have not tested higher Unicode values.

I am not sure if these characters constitute an edge case, but the behaviour
would certainly appear to be unusual or inconsistent.
