[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63413] Tinderbox @6 does not deliver 4.1 Master builds

2013-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63413

And also, I would really love not to have this bug being reopened every now and
then. Tinderboxes happen to be broken time to time. Developers know about that
because we consult the status page pretty often and receive the notifications
if our commit is in the bulk that broke the build. So, having a bug that is
reopened every now and then just adds to the annoyance and does not help.

Interesting, I can't reproduce this on Bodhi Linux, same version of
LibreOffice.

Just to be clear:

Opened a new drawing
Insert -> Picture
selected an image from computer

Ctrl + N

Copied image from first drawing
Pasted to new document
Save

Worked no problem - am I doing the correct steps?

I did exactly what you described in comment #7, but with 4.0.2 not with 4.0.1.
Probably some weird bug has been fixed between 4.0.1 and 4.0.2.
Please, could you try yourself to modify your problem sample file (attachment

Best regards. JBF

I had libre office 4.0.0 and had the same problem so I just downloaded 4.0.2
I'm using Windows 7.

I've determined that there is a "delay" of 6-7 seconds before it will paste.
This delay happens every time I copy something new, until then it's as if
the clipboard is empty.
I've also done a system reboot just in case, problem still persists.
Hope that helps.

as release candidate of 4.0.3 and both work. Attaching working file.

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

If that doesn't solve please set bug back to UNCONFIRMED and attach a document
that you see the problem.

Thanks! This indeed would be a bad one

Strange thing is, it's 2 columns in Google Docs also.

Verified all the way back to 3.5.4 (using bibisect):

+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
As I've been able to confirm this problem on an earlier release I am changing
the version number as version is the earliest version that we can confirm the
bug, we use comments to say that the bug exists in newer versions as well.

Marking as:

Normal - prevents high quality work
Low - for now unless you can tell us that this affects more than one document
&/or tell us how to repeat this from a blank document. It's definitely not
happening with every single document.

Sorry, correct that to read "Cut special" +X to complement "Paste
special" +V.

The +V is Windows generic for paste special but is not assigned in
LibreOffice which uses the KDE/GNOME norm.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49930] FORMATTING : Pressing "Enter" key changes paragraph style of just completed paragraph.

2013-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49930

I have had a look at the provided test document and apart from the fact that it
is rather large, and thus not a simple test, the styles within appear to behave
exactly as one might expect. Each recipe has four pieces of content with a
related paragraph style (shown in round brackets) and a next paragraph style
definition [shown in square brackets]:

 1. heading (RecipeHead) [RecipeCmmnt]
 2. leading comment (RecipeCmmnt) [RecipeIngred]
 3. list of ingredients (RecipeIngred) [RecipeInst]
 4. method / instructions (RecipeInst) [RecipeInst]

Testing the document (using TDF LO v3.5.7.2 and v4.0.2.2 under Ubuntu 10.04
x86_64 by pressing ENTER at paragraph end at random locations throughout its
length) did not produce any observed behaviour being at odds with the style
definitions in use. There are however instances where the styles are used out
of order or a modified variant of one of these paragraph styles is employed
e.g.,

p.53 "Julie's Rum Cake" RecipeInst style is used for sub-heading content above
list of ingredients.
p.89 "Sour Cream Pound Cake" RecipeInst style is used for sub-heading content
above list of ingredients.
p.92 "Sourdough Starter - Not from Scratch" RecipeCmmnt style is used for
sub-heading content above instructions, some of which are formatted with an
unordered list attribute.

There could well be other examples, but this is illustrative. It is to be
expected that in these situations pressing ENTER will not result in the desired
style (that is, contextually).

I suggest this bug can be closed as NOTABUG.

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64068
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: Comments don't delete (immediately)
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: clayor...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 78625
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=78625&action=edit
Document that has a comment, showing problem.

Problem description:
When I delete a comment, it doesn't go away until I close the document and
re-open it. After selecting "Delete comment" from the menu for the cell, the
comment is still there. Right-clicking on the cell again brings up a menu with
no comment items except "Insert comment". If I save, close, and re-open, the
comment is gone.

It *does* work properly with a newly-opened document. Maybe it's because these
were created with a previous version?

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the document I've attached.
2. Right click on the cell with the comment.
3. Select "Delete comment" from the menu
4. Save.
5. Close.
6. Re-open.

Current behavior:
After step 3, the comment is not gone. I can do things with it.

Expected behavior:
It should go away, without having to do steps 4, 5, and 6.

Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.0.2.2 release

Something weird keeps occurring when I view HTML documents that were made in

If I view the document and/or convert the document from Microsoft's HTML to
LibreOffice's HTML in LibreOffice write, the justification with the text isn't
both flush right and flush left as I set it in Microsoft Word 2000 and 2003. It
is only flush left.

Have adjusted summary and setting New as a low priority enhancement request.

+X has had this function since early OpenOffice era
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=8461

If you are serious about seeing this long present behavior changed you must
flesh out how you would expect it to behave. Perhaps a "Cut special"
+X to complement "Paste special" +V.

But please be aware that this is not a bug--LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice
function as designed regards the +X Cut function in Calc and clearing
formatting of source cells.

Windows builds do clear formatting of source cells when a +X cut occurs.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64028] Calc forgets cell format whenever ^X is used to change a cell

2013-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64028

Clarification:

^X cuts everything from the source cell, including the formatting, causeing the
source cell to revert to the default format.

If this is by design, it is incorrect design and needs to be fixed.

The purpose of the "cut" function is to delete the data being cut from its
current location so the data can be pasted into a new location.

If this is by design, then a new function that performs cutting the data
without disturbing the underlying format should be instituted. That is, there
should be a "cut (data only)" function and a separate "cut all" function.

I can see where this might be applicable when one is cutting an entire row or
column, but not with individual cells.

According to at least one person, on Windows 7, the cut does not change the
format of the source cell. I contend that this should be the default behavior
for single cells.

If the implementers/designers disagree, I suggest considering this as an RFC.

Hi Julien
Thanks for taking an interest.
No LO extensions that I am aware of .. and I am the only user on this pc.
New profile created .. same problem.
Two types of behaviour happen.
(1) total crash .. LO just disappears, or
(2) the screen hangs and displays garbage and has to be restarted. Copy of what
the screen displays is attached.

I can't give exact details of how to reproduce the problem. It just happens
apparently at random when editing the file. It seems mostly to happen when
scrolling quickly in the file .. suddenly there is duplication of part of the
screen data and then it hangs or crashes... but I cant make it do it.

If you want a copy of the file I am happy to email to you but it is not
suitable for adding to a public forum.

thanks
steven

MR Zenwiz, so is your complaint that the pasted copy of the cell is
unformatted, or that you have cleared the formatting of the existing cell?

+X will cut ALL information, clearing formatting. That is by design.

If you want to retain formatting on the source cell, you need to +C to
copy, and then delete the content with a back space where default is to leave
formatting intact.

As to pasting with +V, or +V (for Paste Special) those will
paste ALL including formatting by default.

It is all working correctly for me.

Perhaps clear your per user configuration and see if default gets you back to
expected actions.

If adjusting your use of +X and/or clearing your configuration sets
things right, please close this as Not a Bug.

Michael,

I think my specific half-baked theory is wrong -- I managed to hook my laptop
up to a projector today, and with two screens adjusted, under Impress->Slide
Show->Slide Show I selected "show on both displays" and "display 1", but when I
go back to single monitor in both cases I find this problem. Right now I've set
it to "display 1".

I can confirm that running

fixes the problem (but obviously the GTK display theme gone).

I just tried to build current master in my packaging env. Whcih points PYTHON,
PYTHON_CFLAGS and PYTHON_LIBS to python3.3 and its libs as Debians default
python is (and never will be, I fear, I guess that will stay python3..) 2.7.

Now autoconf seems to be trying to be smart but of course isn't and does the
following:

checking for python... /usr/bin/python
checking for python version... (cached) 3.3

when checking for the PYTHON_FOR_BUILD which in turn means sw_python fails with
a syntax error here:

File
"/home/rene/LibreOffice/master/core/unotest/source/python/org/libreoffice/unotest.py
print("starting soffice ... ", end="")

IIRC (and if I read http://docs.python.org/dev/howto/pyporting.html correctly)
this is easily fixable by

I decided to fix the bug in a slightly different way. As I wasn't very
satisfied with the idea of just getting rid of the code.

Wait for a couple of commits to be merged into master and then test it, please.

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/3638/

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/3639/

I find very curious that it has been reported working on 4.0.4 as the fix is
not in this branch. AFAIK if the user *always* clicked in the document in
Explorer to open it, the result should be reasonable. It may be the case?

If 4.0.3 doesn't change anything for you, since you've already removed LO
directory profile, I'll quote Roman's questionnaire (and put him on cc):
"
1) Do you have any accesibility features enabled? Apple’s accessibility
features like “VoiceOver” or “Enable access for assistive devices”, which get
enabled in “System Preferences > Universal Access”, are known to cause many
crashes and freezes in LibreOffice. So please try to disable any accesibility
features, then check if the problem is still reproducible.

2) Do you have installed any window management/user interface
utilities/apps/control panels/extensions for Mac OS X like
   * AquaSnap* BetterSnapTool
   * BetterTouchTool * Breeze
   * Cinch   * Divvy
   * DoublePane  * Flexiglass
   * HyperDock   * iSnap
   * Moom* RightZoom
   * ShiftIt * SizeUp
   * SizeWell* Spectacle
   * Stay* TileWindows
   * WindowTidy... or something similar?

And/or do you use any mouse cursor/pointer utility, i.e. some little
application or control panel etc. which animates or replaces etc. the mouse
curser/pointer, like
   * LazyMouse?

And/or do you use any special software which could be related to accessibility
stuff, e.g. a screen reader, screen magnifier, speech recognition software,
a text-to-speech (dictation) application, or similar?

All these and many similar utilities rely heavily on Mac OS accessibility
features and therefore can cause LibreOffice to crash or freeze. So please
check if you have installed any utility of this kind and try to disable it
(or to add LibreOffice to the list of excluded applications for the utility,
if there is such a thing).

So please check these possibilities, if any of them helps to make the crash go
away, and report the results here.

Looks like the same bug as mentioned in Bug 48250. I mark this bug as a
duplicate of a newer bug report due the fact there is more information on it.

Kind regards,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 35785] LibreOffice's support of the "recent documents" feature of the Windows 7 Start menu broken

Jesús, Tor

So, with the 64dafbe584fe7644ec29b96b6a9a9588ba4619bd commit done to back out
the start of an individual APPUSERMODELID for each component, what should now
happen with applauncher and handling of APPUSERMODELID as AppID in Windows?

I just got a chance to do a complete install of todays TB 6 build of master
which includes the above commit.

tinderbox: administrator: Tinderbox
tinderbox: buildname: Win-x86@6
tinderbox: tree: MASTER
tinderbox: pull time 2013-04-29 04:16:17
tinderbox: git sha1s
core:e986d3e396174096abb46075bf7488677b9a35f9

Before starting, I'd cleaned all LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice off. I
installed the TB build of master with a command line WRITE_REGISTRY=1.

I have verified file associations were made against todays TB build.

Unfortunately at this point I am NOT seeing correct Windows 7 "Jump list"
behavior, do you think we should be?

The package "timezone" and "timezone-java" have had an update at my OpenSuSE

"Berlin" to "Zürich" works now; changing from "Zürich" to "Vaduz" set 3 dates

Could be this isn't a bug of LO/HSQLDB but of the timezone currently working in

An example of the orange square that sometimes appears at the left of a menu
item

Problem description:
Normally when you mouseover a menu item in ubuntu it light up orange, but now
(only in libreoffice) it doesn't. With some options there's a little orange
square lighting up at the left around 6mm, but not the whole menu item.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Click in the menu bar and mouseover the options

I have defined a table with a head in 1 row, followed by multiple rows of data.

The table overlaps one page and the header is set to repeat, so, on the second
page the header appears too. For this explanation, 4 rows are on the second
page.

Now, when I work in a row on the second page sometime the rows on the second
page splitts and do result in a table splitted over 4 pages (1 row for one
page). The problem happened sometimes and is not so easy to reproduce.
This problem can only be managed when I remove the format configuration
"repeating header on each page=Yes".

Do not concede because just one developer is "And?-ing" you endlessly just
because he do not want implement a feature. Another one could be interested and
that is what Open Source is about.
I see use cases for that everywhere, especially for users who are accustomed to
private browser sessions or deletion of session's history upon exit available
in every recent browser and wanting to use LibreOffice the same way. Have
"fresh" LO file menus every time when started.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61174] Enhancement: rework of Recent Documents List, options to prevent logging and to manage entries on the list

2013-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61174

(In reply to comment #9)
> Seems totally unreasonable to me.

Why? Because of traces left in the recent documents list of Windows? Well that
one can be disabled using dedicated registry parameters ("NoRecentDocsNetHood",
"ClearRecentDocsOnExit", "NoRecentDocsHistory", "NoRecentDocsMenu"). That would
take care of the whole list, including PDF, TXT, JPG, etc. (That's also why I
don't see a need for trying to manipulate the Windows list from LibreOffice, to
keep the Windows list in-synch with the one of LibreOffice. If someone is
interested in the LibreOffice entries the Windows list, they will most likely
be interested in its entirety, including the non-LibreOffice files, and can
disable the list using the above parameters. To keep things simple, the
LibreOffice list could be handled independently of what Windows does with its
list, as I suppose it is already done now.)

But while other office programs (e.g. PDF viewers) allow cleaning of their own
recently opened file list on program closure (or alternatively disabling of the
built-in list entirely), that is currently not possible in LibreOffice. So that
its files will still be visible in its own list, even if the Windows list is
disabled.

As an alternative to the above "Clear Recently Used Documents on Exit" option,
an option to completely disable the Recently Used Documents list of LibreOffice
could be provided. I proposed the "Clear Recently Used Documents on Exit"
instead (as e.g. the proprietary but free “PDF-XChange Viewer” does it) just to
have the list of at least the current session available to the user. But the
complete disabling of the LibreOffice list would serve privacy just as well (as
most other programs do).

Hi Joren,
thank's for your quick answer. Document sample uploaded. However it's
impossible for me to reproduce the behaviour. The problem is gone (see below).
To answer your questions:
1. No extensions installed. I changed a few language settings in the setup
menu, but nothing exotic.
2. Apart from my custom templates I removed every profile folder that I could
find before downgrading to 3.6.4.3. I moved my custom templates to a different
location. The problem persisted.
3. After installing 3.6.4.3 the time to open the document was the same 3min20s
as before with 4.x.
To further test the behaviour I created a new XP user account and surprisingly
found that the problem was gone immediately. Depending on the file size it now
takes only a few seconds to open a file. The attached test file takes only 2-3
seconds to open. My thought was that the problem could be located within the
USER hive of the registry. But even more surpring was that while writing this
report I logged back into the old account where I've had the problem. The
problem is now completely gone. Unfortunately I'm no longer able to reproduce
it. It looks like there was some system wide self healing initiated by
creating a new XP user account. I currently have 3.6.4.3 installed.
Kind regards,
Gerd

@Tor,

No, it does not occur. But after further playing with documents on AOO, I've
realised that FS feature is not reliable as it should be. The FS icon has
disappeared and I cannot find a way to make it re-appear. Before that it
started acting totally random, if a document crashed and then recovered FS icon
disappeared again. FS icon sometimes appeared on the start screen, sometimes
not.

It would be great if someone else could test AOO[1] behaviours, but at the
moment I've changed my mind.

This is down to some truly horrible design / coupling between:

SwWriteTable::CollectTableRowsCols and ::FillTableRowsCols

Which have intricate cut/paste calculation magic of an truly horrible kind,
it's really just -too- awful :-)

Apparently this bug https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=60390 is
related to the underlying problem - which is some global settings that affect
how these loops iterate.

Summary: VLOOKUP returns the wrong value (possibly if not

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: david_ly...@blueyonder.co.uk
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: (See in Summary)
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

I have a spreadsheet with about 10 sheets each about 200 by 300 cells.

The cell $HN40:
=VLOOKUP($FR40,$EA$2:$FQ$201,HN$1+2,0) [HN$1 is 1]

and those in $HN41, 42 ... 45

produced the wrong value, matching the first cell $EA$2 not the correct one.
The results for HN$46 ... 201 appear correct. Re-entering the formula has no
effect, neither did recalculating with F9. Increasing the memory Options>Memory
from 256K to 512K cured the problem.

I have been unable to reproduce the problem by reducing the memory again, so I
realise that this bug may be impossible to confirm. I thought I had better
report it because of its potentially serious consequences.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64053] New: Support Info dialog is 2009 pixels wide

2013-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64053

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64053
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Support Info dialog is 2009 pixels wide
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: pedl...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.0.3.1 rc
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

In the Windows OS, under Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, if you click on
Libreoffice, a link with the words "Click here for support information" shows
up.

Clicking on the link provides information about the authors, version, etc. One
of the fields named Comments is used by TDF to indicate the languages included
in the installer. Because there are no spaces, the line does not wrap so it
becomes a very long dialog, centered on screen.

Expected: a dialog that fits on screen with the Close button visible (instead
of off screen)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61174] Enhancement: rework of Recent Documents List, options to prevent logging and to manage entries on the list

2013-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61174

@Tor,

OK concede, so no "Clear Recently Used Documents on Exit" function. Fine,
although I think it is short sighted.

Item 2. has already been accomplished, against enhancement bug 62028, commit
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=0e6a5bf1d9f4106af44996548ab0924ce7e5648c

So the meat of the nut are the elements of Item 3. Could we please focus on
those and related from the see also list. Feel free to close out this issue
and restate in a new bug if it would make more sense to a UX enhancement.

Stuart

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64052] New: LibreOffice using wrong symbols for bullets

2013-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64052

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64052
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: LibreOffice using wrong symbols for bullets
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: john.ma...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 78605

Document with Symbols

Attached are two documents. The first document (libreDocumentWithSymbols.OTT)
contains symbols for bullets with text following (not bullet items). The
second document (libreDocumentWithBullets.OTT), is the same document with the
Bullet Symbol replaced with a bullet item.

With the first document, there are a couple of issues. With libreOffice
already open, going through Windows Explorer and opening the document, the
"Bullet" symbol is replaced with a "Club" symbol and if we try to Export as PDF
with the Embed Standard Fonts option unchecked, the document is exported
appropriately, although the wrong symbol is used.

Without libreOffice already open, going through Windows Explorer and opening
the document, the "Bullet" symbol is replaced with unprintable characters (2
blank squares). If we try to Export as PDF with the Embed Standard Fonts
option unchecked, libreOffice crashes and attempts recovery.

For this second scenario, if the "Bullet" symbol is replaced by an actual
bullet item (as in document #2), Export as PDF works without incident and shows
correctly.

The above has been replicated under Windows Vista and Windows 7 Pro (64 bit)
using LibreOffice 3.6.3 and LibreOffice 4.0.2.
