[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64701] New: EDITING: enhancement: 1 - add to the context menu for comments: EDIT / 2 - add the initial of the person adds comment

2013-05-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64701

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64701
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: enhancement: 1 - add to the context menu for
comments: EDIT / 2 - add the initial of the person
adds comment
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: bugquestcon...@online.de
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Request 1
Problem description:
when a cell comment needs to be edited, it is always necessary to
- first check "show"
- double click into the comment to enable editing
- edit
- right click into the cell (of the comment) and uncheck show to hide the
comment

Solution
add an EDIT function to the context menu which opens the comment for editing
with out a double click on it
close editing when cursor is clicked somewhere outside the comment.

This will increase productivity

Request 2
add the possibility to automatically have the intinals of the author of the
comment.entered at the beginning of the cell text, followed by a colon and
position the cursor at the beginning of the next line

Note: I saw several enhancement request for cell comments, and would like to
suggest that these are all dealt as one task.
Operating System: Windows XP
Version: 4.0.3.3 release

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64594] PDF: pdf in image

2013-05-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64594

Thing is, trying another program that in some way manages to do the job, in the
end is only some kind of "patch", because it would resolve for this moment my
personal problem of needing a converted pdf, but it wouldn't resolve the
problem in itself, that MUST be somewhere else...
I tried now with an old document of the same kind, which I transformed - at its
time, it was september 2011 - without problem. Using that SAME document,
transforming it NOW in pdf and than in image, I got the same problem as I told
(parts missing in image-pdf). I controlled the created pdf with
(http://www.pdf-tools.com/pdf/validate-pdfa-online.aspx) and it gave error of
non-conformity.
So when it went ok 2 years ago, and now it doesn't any more, there must be some
problem, that wasn't there before.

Steps to reproduce:
1. make plot lines, have at least two data series
2. assign each data series a style via "format data series" -> line
3. load a different icon for each series from custom SVG files

Current behavior:

The diagram shows only one icon (first loaded, I think). In libreoffice 3.5
this works as expected. When I save the document in 3.5 with different icons
and open in 4.0, both icons look the same. There must be a problem when mapping
the icons. I am using a "stacked column and line" diagram.

Should display assigned SVG icons like in libreoffice 3.5

Libreoffice 4.0.1 and this bug still seems commonplace. The Timbabase database

waiting period. So it has been back to LO 3.4 for me and JRE 6.22.

There were multiple slowdowns.

This bug is about the slowdown that appeared in 3.5.5 and 3.6.0.beta, which
AFAIK is resolved. That is, 3.5.7 should be as fast/slow as 3.5.4 now.

There was another slowdown that also appeared in 3.6.0.beta, which is now also
fixed, that is bug 51976.

There is yet another slowdown, which appeared in 3.5.2 (or earlier, not sure),
that is not resolved, and that is bug 52170. But I'm missing information to
work on bug 51239. If you see that recent LibreOffice versions are still slower
than e.g. 3.4, please go to bug 52170 and give detailed information *there*.
Please compare *exactly*, saying exactly what operation, with what version of
LibreOffice and Java, with timings (say e.g. "33s" or "8 minutes and 20s", not
"a long waiting time"). I need comparisons of LibreOffice 3.4, 3.5.4, 3.5.7 and
latest 4.0:

 - LibreOffice 3.4 because it is the "reference": it was fast
 - LibreOffice 3.5.4 to compare *without* the impact of this bug.
 - LibreOffice 3.5.7 to check if it is the same time as 3.5.4
 - LibreOffice 4.0.latest to check if it is the same as 3.5.4,
or if a *new* performance problem has been introduced.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64626] [FORMATTING] changing border does not work correctly

(In reply to comment #3)
> Using some variations on cell(s) & border settings, still can't reproduce
> the problem.

Weird, as I think I even found the cause.
In /core/sc/source/core/data/attarray.cxx, ApplyFrame(...) changed border lines
are rewritten (left, top, right, bottom seperately), but only if there is a
changed border line to be written. Result: border lines are not removed.
That the border lines are removed when 'no border lines' are selected, is
because ApplyFrame(...) is treating 'no border lines at all' differently.

Back to reproducing:
The only difference I can think of is that I renewed my cell selection to
examine the result, but I just checked with another method and that also shows
to problem (to me, at least)
1. open a new calc document
2. select cells C3-D4 (4 cells) with the mouse
3. apply border with toolbar button 'Borders' and select 'borders everywhere'
(borders inside and out, with me bottom right icon in list)
4. Don't change the cell selection. Border lines are visible within the
selection, the border lines at th eoutside are hidden by the selection
5. apply border with toolbar button 'Borders' and select 'outside borders only'
(with me rightmost icon in middle row in list)
5. border lines are visible within the selection, which should not be the case.

Tested both with LO4.0.3.3 on Windows XP Professional and with
LO4.1.0.0alpha0+master on openSUSE 12.3

  Reporter: pmla...@suse.cz

I guess that it is related to the fix for the bug #64311 and the commit

Oh - that is bad; %FILE% should be replaced by %U or %F depending on whether
you have gnome-vfs enabled see:

sysui/desktop/share/brand.pl

which should do that substitution. IIRC we cherry-picked that to -4-0 as well,
so we should fix that ASAP if there is an issue.

It worked for me when I tested it but ... what configure options are you using

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64709] New: FILESAVE: Autorecovery fails every time (Caused by deleting Temp folder)

2013-05-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64709

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64709
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: Autorecovery fails every time (Caused by
deleting Temp folder)
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: dalr...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
Files recovered after AutoRecovery are deleted together with the Temp folder
every time after the Prog. closes / relaunches.

Steps to reproduce:
1. [Whenever LibreOffice crashes]
2. Do the AutoRecovery accordingly

Current behavior:
1. After AutoRecovery has saved the files, the folder named something like
"lu1nrcg.tmp" is deleted right after that.
2. When AutoRecovery attempts to recover from that folder, it fails since the
Prog itself has already deleted that folder and created a new .tmp folder
3. Currently, I have to copy the original .tmp folder very quickly to somewhere
else before it is being deleted and then put it back to the Temp folder.

Expected behavior:
1. Both .tmp folders should exist together.
2. The prior one should be deleted only after AutoRecovery

Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.0.3.3 release

There has been ~/.config/libreoffice for a while now.
Which LO version do you have?
(Last ones are 4.0.3 or 3.6.6 for 3.6 branch).

If you didn't make customizations/add extensions etc., you can remove
~/.libreoffice
To be sure to not lose anything, just rename the directory and try.

found to break some 'normal' documents, I didn't really look at the patch in
any detail but since this is for rtl should there be some test to see if the
document is indeed in rtl mode ?

Also I have some documents that demonstrate the bad behaviour ( size and
position of objects incorrect ), these are customer documents and I am
currently stripping out all but an object ( that hopefully will still show the
problem ). Please be a little patient 'till I get to attach the document

there are clearly 2 different bugs here.

the crash in comment #4 is also filed as bug 62965.

i think i found the commit that introduced that one, see other bug.

please keep this bug to what is in the description.

the crash in the description is around in every version since OOo 3.2.1
... OOo 3.1.1 does not seem to crash so i guess it's a regression.

test document

Before the patch the object/drawing on this document occupied ( more or less )
the space defined by cells B3 => X3, with the patch the space defined by the
object/drawing is something like D3 => AU3.
Also notice in design mode the handles don't correspond to the area occupied by
the object/drawing, additionally the size and position ( as reported by context
menu/ position-size ) are all correct ( even though how it is drawn mismatches
that completely )

reverting the patch fixes these problems.

Again just looking at the patch if this indeed is needed to fix something in
RTL then the correction applied would seem to be needed to be limited only when
the document layout mode is RTL. However even saying that it seems suspicious
that the correction is applied only for negative offset ?

There is an option to calculate when open the file.

Yes I can always replicate. I have tried many permutations of programs running
or not running and I removed Java as suggested. Usually I have Firefox running
as I cut and paste articles from the web to read in LibreOffice with much
larger text. (I have poor vision for reading the computer screen) As I
mentioned this is LibreOffice specific as any other program will paste
correctly.

I cannot believe more people haven't reported this unless LibreOffice users are
primarily Linux based.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61186] Print dialog ignores saved settings from Printer Settings + more

2013-05-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61186

"The newly redesigned File->Print dialog for writer and calc"

for the record, in this context the newly refers to
http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Printerpullpages the printerpull stuff, and so
was in something like version 3.3. So not "new" in the context of the later
conversion to .ui format which left any printerpull behaviour unchanged, so
bibisecting won't help.

"always completely ignores the paper size ... in the document. Instead, it
guesses what they should be, on the fly, based solely on the format->page
size/page"

I'm not sure, outside of the simple math case, that this is new behaviour. e.g.
back in OpenOffice.org 3.2.0 with an old print dialog this is also the case.

"If one changes any of those settings in the print dialog, none are them are
saved in the document"

But if I use file->print, then properties, and change the paper size there and
do ok + ok, and then visit file->printer settings, then the same paper size
appears there, in other words the file->print->properties->paper settings do
change those of file->printer settings

Now, what I do see is that if use file->print, it goes into its default and
automatic mode of honouring the document page styles for different pages. And
when print is pressed that those settings are getting written to the printer
settings, overriding the manually set settings. That, to me, is a definite bug
anyway. We should only write explicitly selected settings as the new defaults.

(2) If the program displays dialog "edit contour", then close the

(3) Menu options Insert > Picture > "From File ...". Program displays
dialog "Insert Picture".

(4) Navigate to and select ~/lo_hacking/logs/20130419_1028.png, and
click . Program shows the image in the document window.

(5) Right-click on the the image and from the pop-up menu select Wrap
> "Edit Countour...". Program displays "Contour Editor" with a
larger version of the picture overlaying a smaller one.

(For comparison, the version of LibreOffice delivered with
ubuntu-natty, 3.3.4, shows the picture only once in "Contour
Editor".)

(6) In the toolbar, click and move the mouse cursor over the
picture. Mouse cursor changes to a cross-hair.

(7) Drag the mouse cursor from one point on the picture to another.
Program unsaturates the part of the picture outside the generated
ellipse and then crashes with a segfault. Backtrace coming soon.

I wrote for Outline view:
no, workaround: Navigator > Content View to drag and promote/demote headings

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64717] New: When registering the png file with alpha information to the toolbar, it was discolored.

2013-05-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64717

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64717
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: When registering the png file with alpha information
to the toolbar, it was discolored.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: mi...@info.email.ne.jp
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.6.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

LibreOffice 4.0.3/3.6.6/3.5.7calc/write
ubuntu 12.04 32bit

This problem occurs by Linux.
It does not occur in Windows.

The size of the following picture is 16*16 pixels.
http://www.ne.jp/asahi/soft/miday/Calc_Moji/pngdata.zip
256tr.pngTrue color with alpha information A background is transparent.
256wh.pngTrue color A background is white.
8tr.png Index color A background is transparent.
8wh.png Index color A background is white.

By Calc/Write, the following operations are carried out and it registers as an
icon of a toolbar.

menu View -> Toolbars -> Customize ->
Toolbars -> Commands -> Modify -> Change Icon ->
Import

Pictures other than 256tr.png are satisfactory.
256tr.png will become white.
http://www.ne.jp/asahi/soft/miday/Calc_Moji/errorIcon.png

The alpha information on the original range of 16*16 is not right.

At 256tr.png, one pixel is "RGBA" and is 32 bits.
"A" is alpha information and is 0 - 255.
  0 is un-transparent.
  255 is transparent.
This alpha information is reversed in 16*16.

For example, in LO3.5, if the following line is changed, it will be repaired.
File
 vcl/source/gdi/outdev2.cxx
Method
 OutputDevice::ImplBlendWithAlpha

Original
pAlphaW->SetPixel( nY, nX, Color(255L-nResAlpha, 255L-nResAlpha,
255L-nResAlpha) );
After correction
pAlphaW->SetPixel( nY, nX, Color(nResAlpha, nResAlpha, nResAlpha)
);

nY and nX are 0 - 15.

But since it thinks that Windows will be influenced if this is corrected, I
think that it is not right.
I am not investigating any source other than LO3.5.
I am not investigating the source of Windows/Mac, either.

Bug 62030 is different in that it does not report a crash, neither in
the bug report nor in my test with localbuilt master. Of course, it
may still be "related".

The problem I described I show with the attached test file. In sheet1 I created

It has nothing to do with calculation, it is only a link, but clicking it

Guess that CERCA.VERT = VLOOKUP, FALSO = FALSE

If I'm not wrong, there's a difference between LO & MS Office:
- in MSO using FALSE
- in LO using FALSE()

So that function should be:
=CERCA.VERT("CodicePerito";_RiservatoAxa_!A1:B210;2;FALSO())

Please try again using that.

Most of the open source text editors/office suites I've used allow you to
specify a filename on the command line. If the file is there, it is opened in
the appropriate component. If it's not, a new blank document of the same type
is created and the filename is set to the one specified on the command line.

Libreoffice allows the first behavior (it opens an existing file), but does not
allow the creation of new files from the command line. It would be really nice
if this feature were added.
