Additional note:
Some words do get suggestions for correct spelling (with language set to Dutch)
and words personally added to the list are checked correctly.

The word 'These' (not a Dutch word) gets the suggestion 'The' (not Dutch
either); the word 'The' is shown as if spelled correctly.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65994] New: Dutch spell checking does not work, other languages work doubtfull

2013-06-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65994

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 65994
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Dutch spell checking does not work, other languages
work doubtfull
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: o...@dci-electronics.nl
  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.0.4.2 release
 Component: Linguistic
   Product: LibreOffice

Since version 4.0.4 the Dutch spelling correction no longer works.
This applies to Windows XP/7 and Linux (openSUSE and Ubuntu).
It applies to upgraded installations (from 3.6, 4.0.2 and 4.0.3) and to clean
installations.

behaviour:
-open a new document
-type a Dutch word (fiets)
-it is marked with a red wavy line below it
-on pressing the right mouse key with the cursor on the word, no suggestions
for correct spelling appear
-when the word has been selected, and the menu option extra-language-selection
is chosen, Frisian (once Catalan!) was shown apart from Dutch and no other
languages (not even English). Frisian (or Catalan) was not 'installed' as used
language, but chosing it (Catalan too!) makes the red wavy line disappear.
Adding a new language sometimes works (e.g. English GB) correctly, but on other
occasions it does not (e.g. Catalan, Chuvash).

I checked on master (4.2.0.0.alpha+), and there the behaviuour is not
identical, but also incorrect. two words: fiets (Dutch) and Farad (incorrect
German) are both shown as correct in Dutch, German, Catalan, Chuvash and are
both shown as incorrect in English-US.

I guessed what you meant is cell G10 (not G11) = IRR(G11:G251;0), then correct
result will be shown.

  Reporter: santiago...@live.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.4.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

After a clean install (all old folders removed) the custom wordbook is not
activated by default.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Clean install of LibreOffice Version 4.0.4.2 (Build ID:
9e9821abd0ffdbc09cd8c52eaa574fa09eb08f2), all old folders were deleted before,
language chosen: English

2. The user-folder "wordbook" should be empty at first.

3. Open Writer

4. Type in a custom word (like "harxharx") and add it to your wordbook by
right-clicking it and choosing "Add".

5. A custom wordbook "standard.dic" gets created in user-folder "wordbook" but
not activated (the check-box at Tools -> Options -> Language Settings ->
Writing Aids -> User-defined dictionaries -> "standard [All]" is not active).

6. Close Writer

7. Open Writer again and type in your custom word (like "harxharx") - it isn't
recognized.

Current behavior:

Writer doesn't remember your custom words.

Expected behavior:

The custom wordbook should get created and activated at the same time (activate
check-box "standard [All]" as soon as file "standard.dic" gets created).

This smells like it is a duplicate of bug 64279. Reopen if it is not fixed in
daily builds of libreoffice-4-0 or libreoffice-4-1.

This is further hinted by comment 10 saying "this problem does not exist in
4.1.0.beta2", which is (along with 4.0.5 and master) where bug 64279 is fixed.

  Reporter: santiago...@live.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.4.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

Deleting words from your custom wordbook corrupts your custom wordbook (file
"standard.dic" in user-folder "wordbook").

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start with an empty wordbook -> empty user-folder "wordbook" or a
"standard.dic" file that just contains the default entry:

OOoUserDict1
lang:
type: positive
---

2. Open writer and type in the three words "herxherx" "hirxhirx" "harxharx"

3. Add the three words to your custom wordbook (right-click on each and choose
"Add")

4. Now your "standard.dic" file should look like this:

OOoUserDict1
lang:
type: positive
---
harxharx
herxherx
hirxhirx

5.1 Go to "Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Writing Aids ->
User-defined dictionaries
-> "standard [All]" -> Edit", delete the first entry (harxharx), then click
"close", then click "OK" (closing the Options-Menu) then close Writer

5.1.1 Your wordbook entry now looks like this (last entry doubled):

OOoUserDict1
lang:
type: positive
---
herxherx
hirxhirx
hirxhirx

5.2 Go to "Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Writing Aids ->
User-defined dictionaries
-> "standard [All]" -> Edit", delete the second entry (herxherx), then click
"close", then click "OK" (closing the Options-Menu) then close Writer

5.2.1 Your wordbook entry now looks like this (last entry doubled):

OOoUserDict1
lang:
type: positive
---
harxharx
hirxhirx
hirxhirx

5.3 Go to "Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Writing Aids ->
User-defined dictionaries
-> "standard [All]" -> Edit", delete the last entry (hirxhirx), then click
"close", then click "OK" (closing the Options-Menu) then close Writer

5.3.1 Your wordbook entry now looks like this (nothing got deleted):

OOoUserDict1
lang:
type: positive
---
harxharx
herxherx
hirxhirx

Current behavior:

Deleting an entry (expect last) doubles last entry; deleting last entry is not
working.

Expected behavior:

Deleting "harxharx" should result in:

OOoUserDict1
lang:
type: positive
---
herxherx
hirxhirx

Deleting "herxherx" should result in:

OOoUserDict1
lang:
type: positive
---
harxharx
hirxhirx

Deleting "hirxhirx" should result in:

OOoUserDict1
lang:
type: positive
---
harxharx
herxherx

2013-06-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65991

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 65991
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: alt-ctrl-pgup/pgdown do not move between anchor and
footnote/endnote text in a Writer document.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: ja...@jasonjgw.net
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.0.beta2
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

For full keyboard accessibility (as needed for example by users of screen
readers) it should be possible to move between the body of a document and the
text of footnotes/endnotes via keyboard commands.

There is code in
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/sw/source/ui/docvw/edtwin.cxx
(see the comments and code starting at line 1454) which is apparently supposed
to assign this functionality to alt-ctrl-pgup/pgdown, but in my testing, this
key combination does nothing.

Also, it isn't clear from the comment how this feature is supposed to work.
What is wanted is a mechanism to move from the footnote anchor in the body of
the document to the footnote text with a keyboard operation. Pgup (with no
modifiers) exits a footnote in my testing. I'm running Gnome with the default
Gnome 3.4 window manager.

You're right. So workaround (from Bug 64989) is to add a blank space or
character after field.

Probably this is duplicate of Bug 64989

I'm can confirm the following: "1. When one or more adjacent line(s) is/are
selected, copied then pasted to another sheet, any conditional formatting
assigned to any cells in the line(s) is lost."

I cannot confirm the other related bugs described without more information such
as sample files and screenshots. I suggest that the other three related bugs
be separated out into individual bug reports.

This bug seems to be related to bug 57849

Now I have the new version and its weird because manual hyphenation does not
seem to be followed in single long words, but I can write normal text in a
narrow cell and manual hyphenation works on words here and there. The new
attachment can best express what I mean.

Based on your description, I also tested to insert fields into the *body
text*, and found the same un-wanted new line.
It's not happen if there are extra text following the inserted field.

So, this behaviour happen only if:
* Insert fields (date/time/pagenumber...) in a doc file; and
* The inserted field is the last char (i.e., no more extra text followed).

Hello,

I can confirm this bug on Windows 7 and LibreOffice 4.0.4.2 when I use Chinese
characters.

This is a duplicate of Bug 58604, so I marked the status of this bug so.

I changed the importance to "medium normal". This bug doesn't meet the criteria
for "Blocker", "Critical", or "Major" (according to
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/0/06/Prioritizing_Bugs_Flowchart.jpg);
but this could prevent users from making professional quality work (criteria
for "Normal"), because line breaks are useful and aren't particularly
replaceable.

Thanks for reporting this bug!

Bug ID: 65987
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Other: Layers of OLE-import drawing are
disconnected/wrongly positioned
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: james_av...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.0.beta2
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 81140
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=81140&action=edit
Diagram to use to reproduce the bug (see instructions in initial post)

If a LibreOffice Drawing (.odg) is imported into a spreadsheet as an OLE
object, and the drawing has multiple layers, then the layers are imported in
the wrong positions, i.e., they are not aligned as they should be. The result
is that layers which should overlap in a certain way are shown in different
seemingly-random positions.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Download the attached bug_diagram.odg

2. Open bug_diagram.odg.
Observe that the diagram has content in three layers
(Drawing, VGrid and HGrid) and how they overlap.
The VGrid and HGrid layers contain the blue background grid lines
and the rest is in Drawing.

3. Create a new spreadsheet
   Put cursor in A1
   Insert->OLE Object
 Check "Create from file"
Click Search... and navigate to bug_diagram.odg
Check "Link to file", then OK

Result: The diagram appears with layer "Drawing"
not aligned with the VGrid and HGrid layers. The relative positions are
seemingly random.

Expected Result: Layers should be alined. The drawing should look the same as
it does when editing it separately.

NOTE: Tested on daily build

Hello Marcus,

What are you applying styles to? Examples of how your response would affect
things:
A. I can reproduce the bug if I apply the style "Title" to a rectangle but not
if I apply the style to a text box. (I'm using Windows 7, LibreOffice 4.0.4.2.)
B. If your bug report is about applying styles to rectangles (and probably
other shapes), this bug would be a duplicate of Bug 62175.

Because this bug report needs more information, I'm changing the bug's status
to NEEDINFO. When you provide that information, change the status back to
UNCONFIRMED.

Thanks for reporting the bug!

Mmh, I still see the text when I import it in Word for Mac, but only the

Hello Markus,

I can reproduce this bug on Windows 7, LibreOffice 4.0.4.2. (The objects I used
were rectangles made from the Drawing toolbar.) Therefore, I changed the Status
to NEW (which means it's a confirmed bug).

This bug has a workaround (copying and pasting the individual objects rather
than the slide), but the user can still copy and paste the slides without any
indication (besides after closing and reopening the document) that the styles
are going to be lost. So I marked the importance of this bug as "high critical"
(a component that affects many users and data loss).

Thanks for reporting this bug!

This IS a bug.

Whatever logic lead you to state "it's not a bug, just go enable some random
unrelated setting to get it to work" is FLAWED.

I'm certain the developers of the toolbar did not intend for you to have to
enable asian languages to get the toolbar to work. If they did, the software
should be smart enough to tell the user to enable the option, or better yet,
allow them to quickly enable it on the fly when adding the vertical text
button.

I had to use google, and read this bugtrack to figure out how to use a
feature/function that is intended to be user friendly.

This is a bug.

@Stephan: No, Im not concerned about performance, but that the MSVC
interpretation of "":
"This form instructs the preprocessor to look for include files in the same
directory of the file that contains the #include statement, and then in the
directories of any files that include (#include) that file. The preprocessor
then searches along the path specified by the /I compiler option, then along
paths specified by the INCLUDE environment variable."
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/36k2cdd4%28v=vs.80%29.aspx

Might result in very hard to trace bugs and in addition differs from the gcc
interpretation of:
"It searches for a file named file first in the directory containing the
current file, then in the quote directories and then the same directories used
for . You can prepend directories to the list of quote directories with
the -iquote option."

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65942] Libre office Calc printing more than one sheet

2013-06-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65942

Hi Cees,

(In reply to comment #3)

> Attached you will find a sample of the spreadsheet. The sheet was created in
> the latest version of OpenOffice. It worked well in that version.

Thanks.

Could it be that "Extra > Opties > Calc > Afdrukken .. Alleen geselecteerde
bladen afdrukken" is on?
(Tools > Options > Calc > Print > Print only selected pages)

> Please also notice that some lines have too little height.

Yes, I see.
If you correct it once, it is well preserved. (But of course would be best if
it does not change. In general saving as ods reduces this type of problem
drastically.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65766] UI: Wish: More details for tables (meta tags/properties displayed)

Lionel Elie Mamane changed:

   Severity|normal |enhancement
   Priority|medium |lowest

--- Comment #2 from Lionel Elie Mamane ---
I understand the legitimacy of the wish. If someone feels like implementing it,
I take patches.

Stuff we can IMHO reasonably achieve show there:

Number of rows: get it from "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM tblName" or
XDatabaseMetadata::getIndexInfo (from the row with TYPE=tableIndexStatistic)

Structure of table and its indices: columns, column size, type, ...:
XDatabaseMetadata::getColumns and XDatabaseMetadata::getIndexInfo

Table privileges: XDatabaseMetadata::getTablePrivileges

Stuff that is far more difficult:

creation date, byte size of the table, date of last change, ...

The reason is that AFAIK there is no well-established API for getting this
information. I expect many database systems don't even track / store / remember
the creation date or date of last change. Theoretically, we could add a new
SDBC interface to give this kind of information, but then we have to implement
for each SDBC driver, which is not that bad, but the worse is that it will
"never" work / be available for access through ODBC nor JDBC, since neither
ODBC nor JDBC have an API call to get this information. And obviously it will
only work for DBMS that actually track these informations, and expose some kind
of way to get the information (e.g. a system-specific SQL query).

Hi Jacques, thanks for set the status.

Maybe a very specific case, anyway it is not urgent, and I think Kohei is in
deeper jobs, which I hope can facilitate the things in calc.

Robert: even by using your dump, I still don't reproduce this :-(
I'm not sure to have understood all the comments but I noticed you use MariaDb,
did you try with Mysql?
On pc Debian, there's no MariaDb package so I use Mysql Server 5.5.31-1 -
(Debian)

Remark: I would prefer using MariaDb if it was present in Debian repositories.

Hi
I tested it with different versions of libreoffice and also openoffice. The
result is always the same.
Also I tested it with windows and ubuntu and mint OS. It doesn't matter.
I changed the memory setting in options, also that doesn't help.
So I need help how to fix this.
Thanks

It is indeed empty - I changed to zip, unzipped and looked, no data in there.

That being said unfortunately there isn't an actual bug report here - no
reproducible steps to confirm - no way to really know what went wrong.

Without knowing how to diagnose it we have to mark as INVALID - I hope also
that it doesn't happen again - if you find a way to reproduce I can try to go
through steps but as is, all I can say is that indeed the file is empty, as to
why or how or if it's our bug, no way to know)

Best of luck, hopefully going forward you don't see the same issue. Good news
is I haven't seen any similar reports - if I do I'll re-explore this one and
let you know.

Identation of heading in this document looks very different than in MSWord

In attached document, in OOo Writer there is indentation of heading about 1,25
cm,
but when you open it in MS Word there is no indentation (0 cm).
