@ Todd
Sorry for we can not help much.
Currently this workaround should help:
In LibreOffice 4 under tools->options->print there is now an additional
checkbox to disable using PDF as the default print job format for all printers.
At least disabling this option fixed problem with printing landscape A4 on
Fedora

Do you mean "Tools - Extension Manager"? There is the possibility to
disable/remove Extensions ... ;) Or did you have something else in mind? In FF
it depends on the add-on, if it searches for updates autmatically or not at all

Thanks for additional information
Reproduced using 4-th attachment test.odt
In dialog "PDF Options" was disabled "PDF/A-1a" and enabled "Create PDF form".
When opening produced PDF in Okular it asks "Show forms?". If we click on this
button then Cyrillic characters shown, if not then not.
In Evince are no such option and Cyrillic characters not shown.

It looks like problem is in creating form-mode PDF. Ordinary PDFs working
correctly.

You are right.

Sorry that I hijacked this thread. Obviously LibO 4.x takes conditional
formatting more thorough than earlier versions - which is not a bug :-) Thanks
for "debugging" this. I corrected the formatting in our files and this will
help rolling out 50+ installations of LibO 4 in our company.

Maybe the initial reporter has a different setting causing his problem?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65482] Main English install on OSX should include also localized READMEs in the README folder

Hello Miles, *,

>> How does a Chinese or Arabic user know what are requirements or special

>By reading the requirements on
>http://www.libreoffice.org/download/release-notes/ before downloading LO ;?

So you are saying LibreOffice does not need release notes because all users,
including English-speaking ones can read that on the web? Will you propose to
delete them from installation package? Obviously noone needs it?

>> Since the actions to install are
>> simple on a Mac (one just drops the icon in the Applications folder and
>> install starts and finishes) there is no way (if it is not a native speaker)

>it ... ;) But that would be a completely different feature request ... ;)

No, I do not propose that. LibreOffice is localized in more languages than OS X
(i.e. there is no Slovenian interface for OSX, but LO is localized fully into
Slovenian). Just think of all the African languages...

>> Unless release notes are meant only for English speaking users, or just for
>> Americans.

>No, I don't think so. But I am not sure, if they are entirely translated at
>all available languages ... :(

Readme is a part of localization files of UI. All languages that are above 90%
in their localization have this file localized. One can check it in Pootle if
you have doubts about my claims...

>From my POV it would bloat the download size of LO, where most win users are
>always complaining about ... :(

I do not see how 100 files of pure txt of 15kb would bloat the download size.
1,5Mb for user friendlier interface is not over the top. But it would be
possible to add interface to link to localized release notes on a website if
this size is such a biggie.

>I mean, it is a feature request ... ;) It is FLOSS as well. If you want this
>feature, you can try to find a developer to implement it or find people, who
>would vote for it by adding themselves to CC of this bug ... ;)

I know how FLOSS works, I have been there quite long. I am not saying this is a
priority for LO. I just entered it into the system so it does not get
forgotten. But I do find it funny how LO developers think that only developing
new features and squashing bugs is important. They are forgetting that success
of LO depends of the localization quality and frendliness. And developing by
being unfriendly to other languages and localizers will not help LO in the long
run.

Probably, LO should not check merged cells when inserting with "Shift cells"

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44383] cut plus paste special with move cells incorrectly updates formulas

2013-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44383

Created attachment 81443
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=81443&action=edit
sample document 2

Attached document can be used to demonstrate the problem.

1. open document
2. select range A1:A2
2. copy (Ctrl+C)
3. select cell C1
4. open paste special dialog (Shift+Ctrl+V)
5. select shift right
6. paste
7. expected behaviour: at least one of the pasted cells (C1:C2) should still
have the same result as in the cells (A3:A4) which contain sthe same formulas
as in (A1:A2).
actual behaviour: both pasted cells have now changed results.

This means that there is currently no way to copy & shift+paste without
breaking formulas containing references to shifted cells.

Probably the copied (but not yet pasted) cell's contents are not updated when
the shift takes place so that the pasted cells have incorrect references in the
formulas.

Tried to insert picture to Calc, that picture stayed in previously selected
cell (before did insertion) on the upper left part of the picture. We can also
anchor to cell.

Tested on LO 4.0.4.2 (Win7 32bit)

Please REOPENED this bug report if you don't agree & please provide detailed
steps to show the problem (along with screenshot which is expected)

As it's still broken I tend to agree - confirmed

It may have already be fixed in 4.1 but until stable is releases and there is
an update I can't test it.

Marking as NEW (confirmed) - priority seems appropriate as it's a pretty
visible problem and been around for awhile

This is not our bug, Windows says they support open standards but they really
only support the older open standards, not the later ones so you'll get these
errors often if you save as odt. I'm not sure if Office 2013 supports the
latest open standards but I'd suggest if they don't pushing MS to do so - the
standards are all visible and easy to implement support, they just have to do
it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41001] Area of OLE object referenced is lost

2013-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I am sorry I was not able to explain the issue clearly. I know exactly what is
supposed to happen when you do OLE with link to source; any change made to the
data in the original document would reflect in the documents where I have
inserted it.

Say I'm creating this spreadsheet with some data and creating a chart there
itself (because I don't like the way they are created in Impress). Since I want
this chart ot be presented, I insert the spreadsheet as an OLE object (with
link option checked) into a presentation. Then I double click on the object and
align such that only the chart area of the presentation is seen.

You are right that if I modify the original data in the data, the chart there
would change and so should the presentation when I open it the next time. But
tell me this, why should the OLE object in the presentaion should show some
other area of the spreadsheet if I had scrolled the spreadsheet (using the
horizontal / vertical scroll bars on the right / bottom side of the window) or
added one more sheet before saving it the last time?

Please provide exact steps (enumerated) where we can reproduce this.
Unfortunately as is your steps are not very clear and they are written in a way
that is very hard to follow.

What I tried:

1. Download startin document
2. Scroll to last picture
3. Copy last picture with ctrl + c
4. Select below last picture
5. Paste with ctrl + v

I see no problem but I assume I am missing something.

If this is still a problem with version 4 please provide clearer steps and mark
the bug as UNCONFIRMED. Thank you!

Kohei or Markus - thoughts on this one? I believe there are already bugs out
there that say things like "support more than one core" -> is this really
actionable? IMO we should close as it's a big request that isn't specific to
vlookup (vlookup might just be a symptom of not supporting more than one core)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66185] New: Feature request: IDE - Code auto complete for writing macros

2013-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66185

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 66185
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Feature request: IDE - Code auto complete for writing
macros
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: albe...@ridolfi.org
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.4.2 release
 Component: BASIC
   Product: LibreOffice

A feature lacking in LibreOffice holding me to make the switch is the ability
for the IDE to auto complete (ie. give suggestions according to the API) when
writing code.

For example, when writing a VBA macro with MS Office, if I write:

"Object.", then after a couple of milisseconds (or after pressing Ctrl+Space),
a drop-down list with the possible methods and variables are shown.

This makes coding a lot faster, because I don´t need to keep switching windows
to consult the LibreOffice API in almost every line of code written on the web
browser.

Hi Rolf,

After some testing & searching, I found the fact:
1. Check style "weiße schrift" (applied on conditional format #2) by hitting
F11, right-click, then Modify.
2. Select tab 'Cell Protection', see that 'Protected' checked.
So the behavior you've been explained is work as expected. Style used on
Conditional Formatting will override existing format of cell(s) where that
Conditional Formatting applied. (see Bug 51636)

Tested on LO 4.0.4.2 (Win7 32bit)

Set status UNCONFIRMED -> maybe I'm wrong, let ask the experts

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66183

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 66183
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FORMATTING: Save/store Frequently Used User Defined
Format
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: paijo.is...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

This is enhancement request, and not a bug report.

Since LO Calc doesn't have "Accounting" format, it will be nice if LO can
save/store frequently used user-defined format. So, not just "Accounting", but
a lot of useful number format can be used without change the cell (or range)
every time a new file created or modifying old files.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56799] LibreOffice Calc: Missing content by dragging hidden rows and columns

2013-06-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56799

Bug still present in 4.0.4.2.

For those who are a heavy user of the drag-extend feature like me, here's the
workaround I'm using to circumvent this issue while it's not fixed: instead of
hiding the rows/columns, just set their height/width to a small value like
0.01cm. This won't make the R/C truly "hidden" in the sense that will prevent
LO from drag-extending their contents, but for most practical purposes, the R/C
will be out of sight.

Please try with a fresh profile - I haven't seen anyone else reporting this
problem with millions of users many of them running W7 on later 4.0 releases.

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

also:

http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=39771

If you were running 4.0.0.x you were running a pre-release which maybe did
something strange to your profile.

FWIW - I am running 4.0.4 on Windows 7 without a problem

Marking as WFM - if resetting your profile and following the forum posts don't
solve your problem please leave a comment and mark bug as UNCONFIRMED again.

Thanks, hopefully those things solve your problem as it's quite serious

Note that the PDF export dialog opens the mimetype expander by default, whereas
the file saving dialog does not auto-expand it.

Nonetheless, when using the gtk filechooser, that expander shouldn't even show
up, as it is redundant with the mimetype combobox widget.

Created attachment 81435
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=81435&action=edit
Sample document (as .odt, .html and .pdf) to show the issue. Also the three
*.py files resulting from a cut&paste from each

I can put Python program source code into a LibreOffice document and mark it as
pre-Formatted (or Source Code).

If I cut&paste this into a text editor from LibreOffice itself, it works.

If I export it as an html file, and cut&paste from that, it works.

But if I export it as a PDF file then a cut&paste of that will fail, as the PDF
no longer retains the information about spaces - rather essential to pythign
code.

The problem also applies to other languages as in general any layout is lost,
and spaces can be lost from inside string etc.

I would like PDF exports to contain real spaces formatting in those document
sections which are pre-formatted in just the same ay the the HTML export lists
them as ""

As a start, does anyone know which parts of the source actually handle these
outputs for html and PDF? I could then try hacking around in the code myself,
but at the moment I'm lost as to where this is (not) going on.

This isn't a bug, it's behaving as it's supposed to. The OLE object is linked
to the data, if you change the data, the graph should (and does) change

This only happens in chromium 27.0.1453.116 on os x 10.8.4. In FF and Safari
it works fine. So setting to WORKSFORME. (or notourbug).

Hi,

There is very rough way to clear your list for versions below 4.1: You can
delete your user profile by following this guide:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resetting_the_user_profile

As you can see in enhancement request bug 62028 it will be available in 4.1.0
and + versions. Via the menu entry 'File > Recent Documents' you have the
option the clear the complete list. So another option is to install 4.1.0 RC
(http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/) and clear it that way.

I hope this helped.

Kind regards,
Joren

Setting to NEEDINFO (also as of Comment 4). Been reading through this. Also not
sure what to make of this.

Urmas: I think it would be the easiest to post a screenshot showing the correct
and the bugged version and makr the difference to look for. Than this should be
easy to confirm.

Hi Gityrebiter,

this bug is invalid.

First: version info is the first version the bug appeared in. So it does not
get updated.

Then please provide a detailed step-by-step description on how to reproduce
this bug. The more detail you provide the faster this bug will get confirmed
and subsequently fixed. You may wanna add screenshots if you like.

In that case please re-open this bug.
