I have an open document. The File:Save menu item is dimmed, suggesting that the
document is already saved. I then try to quit, and a dialog says "Save Changes
to Document "..." before closing?"

I choose button "Save" (default) and the document doesn't close, and i can't
quit.

I don't know how to reproduce this, but if I figure it out, I will report it
here.

A calc document is created with the hidden flag. It is not visible.
Some paste is done for adding content.
The document is stored with the command saveAsUrl or saveToUrl.
The document is closed with mxDocument.Close(true) and LO crashed.

If I made the document visible before closing there is no crash.

The problem is the same in 4.1rc1.

All in Windows XP or 7.

Sorry, I can only describe what the program is doing.

--- Comment #10 from Marcos Souza  ---
I investigated a little this problem:

The function SfxFilterMatcher::GuessFilterIgnoringContent that calls the
fucntion:

xDetection->queryTypeByURL( rMedium.GetURLObject().GetMainURL(
INetURLObject::NO_DECODE ) );

to get the type of the file that will be exported. But, this function returns
writer_T602_Document.

So the fucntion GetFilter4EA is called, to verify if the type has a filter...
but in this case, the writer_T602_Document seems to don't be a valid filter.

What can I do now? I believe we're near to solve this issue, but I need help!

Further to comment #4, I'm not sure if this added feature even works at all? It
doesn't seem to work intuitively. If I de-select "Same content on first page",
Writer still applies the same header to both the first and subsequent pages. I
still have to use page styles to actually get a different header on the first
page...

Cannot reproduce on my master (4.2.0.alpha) dev-tree (own build) of commit

Debian GNU/Linux amd64. Also cannot reproduce with LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 (Debian
package).

Alex, could you try on your GNU/Linux install?

Alex and/or Dan, please give detailed reproduction instructions. Here's what I
did:

1) open the "test file" attachment.
2) edit the "assets" report
3) Select label and formatted field of AssetCategoryID, BarcodeNumber,
Comments.
   That is, six controls in total.

   Note: I have to use the SHIFT key for that, not Control like original
   reporter. Maybe that's a difference between MS Windows and GNU/Linux?

   I keep the shift key pressed, and then click one on each of these controls.
4) Point the mouse cursor on one of the selected controls, press the mouse
   button, don't release it, move the mouse down.

   The block of six controls moves down.
5) Release mouse button.
6) Click on blank area of report (e.g. below "Model", still in the Details
   section) to deselect all fields.
7) Click on "AssetCategoryID" field
8) In the properties pane on the right, in the "Label" property, add a space
   between the words, changing to "Asset Category ID".
9) Press enter

No crash for me.

Not certain why closing as "invalid" but here is information requested. Now if
developers are rejecting the enhancement then I suppose that would need to be
set to "Wontfix". for now I will set to unconfirmed as the instructions
recommend. Here are responses to questions for reopening:

> a) Provide details of your system including your operating system and the
> latest version of LibreOffice that you have confirmed the bug to be present

Affects all operating systems and versions up to 4.0.3

> b) Provide easy to reproduce steps – the simpler the better

1. Open or create a drawing with many pages.
2. Select page 1.
3. Select File/Export
4. Set file type to .png
5. Set file name to something like "page1.png"
6. Set the options for page size and resolution (this will reset everytime).
7. Repeat steps 2 to 6 for every page.

> c) Provide any test case(s) which will help us confirm the problem

Any drawing with multiple pages, best test case need >10 pages. I often deal
with >50 sheet drawing.

> d) Provide screenshots of the problem if you think it might help

Would not help

> e) Read all comments and provide any requested information

Biggest comment was if exporting as html is acceptable work around as that
creates thumbnails of all the pages. This does not however allow you to set the
page size and resolution as you can exporting one page at a time. Other work
around is export one page at a time which is very tedious and can take a great
deal of time if you have lots of sheets/pages in your drawing.

The other comment as "NeedsInfo" warning which I provide. If not clear and I
can try to post a video demonstrating out tedious it is to manually exporting
one sheet at a time.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66717] Allow use scalar User-defined Functions with range arguments, similar to built-in functions

2013-07-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66717

--- Comment #4 from Mike Kaganski  ---
(In reply to comment #3)
You just haven't tried to understand what had been asked. I tried to express
the question as detailed as possible, and included an example of desired
behaviour in form of use case of a built-in function. Have you tried it to see
what is it about?

There's no problem if you need all the range. But the problem arises if you
need just a single cell in the range, when the only thing you know is that the
cell is in the same row (or in the same column) with the cell in which the
formula resides.

Suppose that there are ranges (columns) in the worksheet named "Length",
"Diameter" and "Thickness" describing properties of some pipes. You need to
create a column with the weights of the pipes. You write formula like
"=8,7*Length*PI()*Thickness*(Diameter-Thickness)" and put it to all the cells
in that column. Note that the arguments are _ranges_, not individual cells, but
each resulting cell only uses _one_cell_ from each range, that is in the same
row with that resulting cell.
That is what I want to be able to do in User-defined functions, and something
that seems to be impossible there now.

A working example macro in an odt.

(Noel, Joel Madero asked that I cc you when I contacted him via
#libreoffice-qa)

The example code from Andrew Pitonyak (listed below) has stopped working in the
4.1 series of LO. It works for me in 4.0.4.
I copied the basic code and pasted it into a Writer Doc in order find the
reason why. It now works with standard text from gedit but not with any
text/numeric combo from Calc .

Download the document or create your own pasting in the code below.

Open the clipboardAPI.odt Writer document.
Open a blank calc doc and enter this data in a 2x2 grid, 1 character in a cell.

A B
1 2

Select the 4 cells, then ctrl+c or copy from Edit Menu

Select the ClipboardAPI.odt Writer document and open the Macro Selector
(Tools-Macros-Run Macro...)
Click on ClipboardAPI.odt, then underneath that Standard, and again until the
Macro Name column choose 'clipboardAPI'
Under 4.0.2.2 a dialog box appears containing (whitespace may differ):
AB
12

Under 4.1.0.2 Nothing happens, but if you Shift+Ctrl+V or 'Paste Special', you
still get various options and you can paste them O.K

Under 4.1.0.2, oClipContents.getTransferDataFlavors() returns an empty array
 in Xray and the Watch window shows nothing.

--- Comment #2 from Makoto Takizawa  ---
Hi Cor Nouws .
Thank you for your comment.

>But why not add a contect menu 'remove hyperlink' for the button?

add context menu "remove hyperlink" is nice idea. That is a convenient way.
I think that time also better to have remove function to push button on
hyperlink dialog for a consistency.

Yes, of course. But haven't found any info on this matter. Do you know if it is
possible, and where can I find this information?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66717] New: Allow use scalar User-defined Functions with range arguments, similar to built-in functions

2013-07-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66717

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 66717
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: Allow use scalar User-defined Functions with range
arguments, similar to built-in functions
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.3.2 release
 Component: BASIC
   Product: LibreOffice

I want to create a User Defined Function
(https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/User-Defined_Functions) for use in Calc. It
is intended to take a numeric value as argument. But I need it to work like
built-in functions like "SQRT" do: if you pass a range to it, it selects one
value from that range that corresponds to either same column or same row as the
calling cell (the cell in which the function is calculated). You may, for
example, set A1 = 1, A2 = 4, A3 = 9, and if you put "=SQRT($A$1:$A$3)" into B1,
B2 and B3, you will see B1 = 1, B2 = 2, and B3 = 3. But if I declare a function
in LibreOffice Basic like this:

function Func(x)
 Func = x^2
end function

and use it in a cell (say, C1) like "=Func($A$1:$A$3)", it will bring error,
because x is array, not single value. And there seems to be no way to tell Calc
to pass the arguments like it does to built-in functions: declaration like

function Func(x as double)
 ..

doesn't help, either.

Of course, if I wanted to reference cells by their addresses, I better simply
use it like "=Func(A1)", and dragged the formula so that it will point to
relative cell in each place. But the real purpose for this is to be able to use
named ranges in the function. In complex formulas, it is very inconvenient to
reference cells by addresses, but rather by names set in Insert->Names.

>From discussion at
http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=27860 and similar, I
already know that it's impossible to get the calling cell address from within
the code.

So, the request is to provide a means to get only one value from a relative
cell in the range passed to a Basic function.
As an option, I suggest to distinguish when the function argument is declared
explicitly as a scalar.
Other option could be to allow to get the information about the cell in which
the formula resides.

Mike Kaganski  changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||vmik...@suse.cz

--- Comment #11 from Mike Kaganski  ---
While I stated that this is similar to Bug 65067, this is quite different,
though has much in common: this one is about wrong positioning of objects
imported from another format (thus, distorting the document, making it look
different than the original), while the mentioned issue is about defaults used
to create new formulas in LO. This one should not be fixed by changing some
defaults in a program or template; rather, the styles in the imported document
(or even properties of individual objects, if they are different in different
formulas in the original) should be set appropriately.

The import code seems to simply skip the spacing properties of formula objects,
so it may be a (DOC(X) and RTF) filter issue? Miklos, could you please take a
look at this, and maybe advise on who should be notified on this? Thank you.

And below is a slightly fixed version of the Basic macro posted above. The
former code has one problem: if the document contain MathType objects not
converted to Math, and MathType is installed, it will complain that "Too many
windows are open". This is caused by string

oModel = oMathObject.Model

that, although returns null for non-LO objects, seems to trigger creating a
(hidden?) window by MathType. (By the way, is there a way to force free the
resources allocated by this?)

The new version avoids this problem by checking GUID before dereferencing
Model. Thus, the alternative method of testing model for support of service
com.sun.star.formula.FormulaProperties is impossible here.

Sub SetMathBorder
  On Error Resume Next ' Prevents deleted objects from causing errors.
  dim oEmbObject as Object
  for each oEmbObject in ThisComponent.getEmbeddedObjects()
if oEmbObject.CLSID = "078B7ABA-54FC-457F-8551-6147e776a997" then '
Formula!
  dim oModel
  oModel = oEmbObject.Model
  if (not isNull(oModel)) then
if (not isEmpty(oModel)) then
  with oEmbObject
.LeftMargin = 0
.RightMargin = 0
.TopMargin = 0
.BottomMargin = 0
  end with
  with oModel
.LeftMargin = 0
.RightMargin = 0
.TopMargin = 0
.BottomMargin = 0
  end with
  ' Update
  oEmbObject.ExtendedControlOverEmbeddedObject.Update()
end if ' if not empty
  end if ' if not null
end if ' if formula
  next ' oMathObject
  ThisComponent.Reformat() ' Updates all elements in the document
End Sub

Maybe you have select local/net printer unavailable.

Can you do a try changing the default printer in LibreOffice, or changing the
