The attached Word DOC, which appears to be in XP-2003 format, does not display correctly in LibreOffice (or OpenOffice). In MS Word, the document has a total of 21 pages. The other bug also suggested that the rework was done by David Ostrovsky = adding him to CC. BTW: I searched /opt/libreoffice4.1/share/registry for the string Icedove. It is mentioned in 4.1 only in the res/registry_main.xcd and nowhere else. Note that it was mentioned also in main.xcd in LO 4.0. I wonder if this might be the reason for this bug. I wonder if it might be related to gbuildisation or so. Anyway, if I understand the bug #64741 correctly, the driver did not work in 4.0 = it does not matter if we show it or not in the menu = of course, we need to make it working again but it should not suddenly start blocking the 4.1.0 release = lowering severity a bit. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66924 --- Comment #4 from Petr Mladek pmla...@suse.cz --- I did some more testing and here is my observation: + I am able to edit the first master slide in any presentation + I am NOT able to edit the other master slides if I choose them using the left hand slide sorter. If I click anywhere in the other master slide it jumps back to the previously edited slide; it means: + it jumps back to the first master slide if you did some editing before + it even leaves the master view and jumps back to the normal view if you did not not do anything else before (did not edit 1st master slide; did not edit other slides in the normal view A workaround seems to be to click on the first master slide in the central edit window and navigate to the other master slide using the [Pgdn] button. Then I am able to edit them. + I have troubles to leave the master view. If I edit a master slide, leave the master view and try to edit the real slide, it jumps back to the master view. A workaround is to close the mast view once again; then it stays in the normal view. + IMPORTANT: I see these problems only with more master slides. Since not LO related setting Version to UNSPECIFIED. I have to say I disagree with the tooltip enhancement request for the up/down voting arrows. Imo those are very obvious as similar to all forums across the web. Up/down for voting isn't a new concept and I believe most users are familiar with that. Please don't clutter the askLO page with tooltips (e.g. similar to BSA which had a tooltip in the component selection view - cluttering the whole view and being very annoying). I see the danger of instead of presenting a clean self-explanatory UI overwhelming the user with info (displayed out of good intention) but resulting in a much too busy overall UI. Voting is explained here: http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/help/ I've just added a voting explanation to the wiki as well: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Ask/Getting_Started bugquestcontri: Editing the wiki is rather straight forward. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66989] VIEWING: Writer not displaying/printing full page range of Word DOC
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66989 James spa...@gmx.net changed: What|Removed |Added OS|Windows (All) |All Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from James spa...@gmx.net --- Interesting behavior. Testing on LO 4.1.0.2.0 and OS X 10.8.4 LO displays 19 pages whilst MS Word displays 21 pages. All content is there so nothing get's lost but the formatting is displayed differently. This document imo has some strange formatting. It takes a while in both programs to load completely although it is only a table with some text. So this document might have some very odd formatting. When comparing the opened documents already on the first page I notice that Word displays #15 as the last number and LO goes to #16. That explains why the doc only has 19 pages when opened in LO. IMHO, it is only small part of the disk space and energy that is spent in this are these days. I mean all the windowmanager effects, complex graphics, and design. I am afraid that the world goes this ways. Regarding the disk space. It would be great if you could provide some static. It wonder how big part the thumbnail takes in normal documents in average. Regarding the cpu usage, it is questionable. In fact, the bundled thumbnail is an optimization here. It is produced only once, from already preprocessed data and then used on many systems. If it is not there and user want the thumbnails, the windowmanager would need to run LO on all systems working with the file, do the rendering and producing the thumbnail for the system cache. Problem description: When using command prompt: soffice.exe --nofirststartwizard --invisible --convert-to pdf --outdir %1 %2 the attached file is exported to PDF without the table of content (TOC). Instead there is a blank space where the TOC should appear. Doing the same operation using GUI with the same document produces a PDF with the correct TOC. I confirmed this on several windows OS versions with same consistent result. The file was created with MS Office 2013, docx file. Note: I am using LibreOffice Portable version, but had a friend confirm the same with the full version. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the attached file using writer, convert to PDF - success. PDF has TOC. 2. Close writer, and all instances of LibreOffice 3. Open command prompt, run the command above (replace %1 with the output location of your choice and %2 with the attached file location) 4. Failure: the PDF is produced but missing the TOC. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62105 Jérôme jerome.bo...@wanadoo.fr changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|NEW --- Comment #4 from Jérôme jerome.bo...@wanadoo.fr --- The storage cost depends on the usage : - the local desktop disk is often a cheap storage with possibly no backup (in enterprise for example), - the storage of a user or a group is an expensive storage (the final archived size can be multiplied by ~20 with archives rotation, humans are paid to perform the storage and check it, a long term storage use expensive technology or it requires frequent backup refresh of older backups, ...). I think that preview should be stored only on cheap storage. However a document file is usually stored on an expensive storage. Note that a document sent by email will use the network bandwidth for image preview which can be easily created by the recipient. Moreover, the document will be copied into the inbox folder of the recipient and also into the sent folder of the sender. The mailboxes of the sender and the recipient will be possibly backed up (expensive storage) and they will possibly reach their size quota.
