[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67206] New: EDITING: No autocalculation of a cell referenced to a cell, if a column was inserted before

2013-07-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67206

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67206
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: No autocalculation of a cell referenced to a
cell, if a column was inserted before
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: moglivonw...@t-online.de
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.3 rc
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
A cell with reference to another cell with formula won't
recalculate/autocalculate, if a column was inserted before.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In a row enter numbers for example 1 2 3 in cells A1, B1, C1
   In cell D1 enter =sum(A1:C1)
   In cell E2 enter =D1+1
Changing any numbers in A1, B1 or C1 works well.
2. Insert a column between the number-cells, for example
   between A1 and B1.
   (All references will updated correctly.)
3. Enter a number (5 or so) into the new and empty cell B1.
   :-(
   Cell D1 autocalculate correctly,
   cell F2 not!

Current behavior:
After inserting a column some cells won't recalculate automaticly.
Cell F2 dont't recalculate automaticly.

Expected behavior:
Cell F2 must recalculate automaticly.
Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.1.0.3 rc

With LibreOffice 4.1 and Mesa 9.2 (on Fedora 19), the following error occurs
when trying to demo any 3D (has to be from the libreoffice-ogltrans package)
transition.

This bug seems to exist for users of the R600g driver, as I cannot seem to
confirm this at the moment on any other cards that are available to me.

I also can confirm that features not available on LO 4.0.4.2 (Win7 32bit).
Perhaps that crash related to unavailability of that features.

@DeJQit, anyway your LO version is too old & unsupported anymore. You could use
newer version from LibreOffice PPA:

With the old LibreOffice v.3.5.5, i had have saved old MS-Word 2000 files
(.doc) into .odt format. No problems to open the .odt files in LO v.3.5.5.
Now, with the "new" LibreOffice v.4.0.4.2, i try to open the .odt files and
always i get the "LibreOffice v.4.0.4.2 - General Error" Pop-Up. Okay, the
document is loaded after i click on "OK", but it makes me nervous. That
Error-Warning should not be there. I´m afraid, that later this file will be
corrupted, and i loose my data.

It is great to be able to access a large font library for creative purposes,
but for more basic use they can get in the way when you need to switch between
common office fonts. it would be great to have somethign like "bookmarks" in
browser, so I could bookmark most common use office fonts, for easy use but
still have the big font library loaded for when I want just the right font for
more creative purposes.

2013-07-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon

made a test in Version 4.0.4.2 (Build ID:
9e9821abd0ffdbc09cd8c52eaa574fa09eb08f2)

copied in Outlook with ctrl+c

created Lorem Ipsum text in writer

paste Writer with ctrl+v
=>Pasted text appears in the correct position (= position of cursor)
=>Pasted format appears as in Outlook but now applying styles shows effect,
this means I can change styles be using the styles defined in my style window.

Note: Placing the cursor into the pasted text without doing anything else shows
in the style window that style "Text body" is used although it is not.
Double clicking of "Text body" style changes text format to the real "Text
body" style.
I cannot really judge if this is still a smaller bug or not. maybe here an
enhancement of having in the style window a style indication like "undefined
style" or " direct formatted text" could be useful.
I leave this up to the QA team and their prioties

paste in Writer with ctrl+shift+v and select unformatted text
=> Pasted text appears in the correct position (= position of cursor)
=> Pasted format appears in the format of the text before and after the
insertion point.
Perfectly correct now

Beside the possible smaller bug or enhancement idea this bug is solved from my
point of view.

Testing in 3.6 is not possible anymore as I migrated already ot 4.0.4.2

Still Reproducible in LibreOffice 3.6.7 and 4.1.0 RC3.
This happens in ODS file, courses data loss, so I change Importance to

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67071

Hi Menno, maybe it is not usual in a so large quantity, I think is more proper
of a database. If data came form a database a view could be a good solution.
But anyway the issue is there and is a severe problem IMO.

Hi Petr, but maybe a lot of people use it in a more short quantity, I have seen
more than once questions in Ask and forums about VLOOKUP() on external files.
People having e.g. half a minute delay on recalculate, can not see there is a
bug, but half after half can be a lot of their minutes.

Not a blocker, perhaps, but IMO is critical and a MAB, affects to all versions
in production.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67194] New: I cannot replace straight quotes with the rounded versions using Format|AutoCorrect|Apply

2013-07-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67194

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67194
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: I cannot replace straight quotes with the rounded
versions using Format|AutoCorrect|Apply
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: j...@vansomeren.co.uk
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.4.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

In the Localized Options of Auto Correct I have specified that the straight
single and double quotes should be replaced by the 66/99 (ie rounded) versions.
This works while I type.

However, my current document was produced without this option. I used the menu
choices Format | AutoCorrect | Apply (and also Format | AutoCorrect | Apply and
Edit Changes) to no avail. The progress bar shows that my document is being
scanned (it is about 200,000 words so it takes half a second or so) but the
quotes don't get changed.

I tried selecting the whole text in case it only worked within a selection, and
now Format | AutoCorrect only offers AutoCorrect Options. The other three items
are greyed-out.

I have also tried with Times New Roman instead of Georgia. No change.

It also fails with converting 1st to 1½, which also works while I type.

a screenshot of the bug

When the report gets longer than say .. a page. The detail bar starts rendering
incorrectly. See the screenshot

For the record there are probably about 5 other bugs, quite a bit more severe
than this, 1-3 are appear when the document becomes sizable long, 4-5 are
always present

1) cannot resize elements with mouse, results in CRASH
2) cannot move elements with mouse, buggy as Heck, element zooms to extent/edge
of documents
3) elements occasionally disappear, when near the page boundary I suspect they
simply are are rendered erroneously, off page, perhaps?
4) elements are not always rendered to match there exact location in the
document, move an element by .01" and no change will be displayed and the
report builder acts as if the element still occupies that .01" preventing you
from moving elements into the supposedly empty space
5) elements often appear to become unaligned with the grid making is difficult
to precisely stack elements without gaps

Rename your user profile, so that you are sure to get a new fresh user profile.
Start LO Writer.
Enter three paragraph and select them.
Open Style&Formatting window and apply list style "List 1"
Open this list style to modify it.

Click on tab "Graphics".
Notice, the styles, which use graphics from the user profile gallery do not
show the picture. If you apply such style set nevertheless, the list items get
a replacement graphic as bullet.

Similar with tab "Options". From the 'Number' drop-down-list choose "Graphics"
or "linked Graphics". Then in section 'Graphics' click on "Select" and then
"Gallery". Notice, that here again the list items, with link to the user
profile have no picture. If you choose on of them and click "Apply", nothing
happens.

I cannot supply a testcase as it (almost certainly, but untested) requires an
external MySQL database. It may fail with other external databases as well.

In case you didn't catch it I am using a TIMESTAMP field, which automatically
updates to the current date/time upon record change in my MySQL database. I
require this feature to record when a particularly important record is changed.

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: ja...@jswhite.net
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

This bug is only present in the 4.x.x branch. Works in 3.6.7

Using a MySQL database with either a TIMESTAMP or a DATESTAMP field. It
displays and behaves correctly in the Form editor. However in a REPORT,
attempting to display it results in a incorrect date. For instance if I update
a record on `7/22/13 2:25pm`, it will display the date of the timestamp 2 days
in the past so that it appears `7/20/13 2:25pm`. I have confirmed in my case
that the database contains the correct date and that in fact the REPORT
component is incorrectly displaying the date by 2 days.

The behavior has remained constant throughout the various hours of the day.

LibreOffice version: as you know Report Builder in the 4.0.4 Release crashes
Libre Office so I must use 4.0.3 (windows, portable)
Connection Type: JDBC, It is not the JDBC a fault. Libreoffice displays
TIMESTAMP correctly in forms

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67179] EDITING: JDBC - Firebird: Integer-fields formatted with wrong field properties

2013-07-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67179

Hi -- I wouldn't know much about this unfortunately (I'm working on the native
firebird driver which avoids going through JDBC -- which will eventually work
with external and remote dbs).

However assuming this is jaybird specific and doesn't happen with other jdbc
databases then it could be a jaybird specific probem, otherwise it'll probably
be a jdbc driver problem. Probably worth testing there to determine where
exactly the problem lies -- testing 4.0 on openSuse 12.2 64 bit the embedded
hsqldb (which uses jdbc) seems to work fine, i.e. field length starts at 5, 10,
100 etc. (depending on type) and stays such after closing and reopening.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66025] uno.py Importing bindings causes python to crash.

2013-07-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66025

@Andreas:

Yeah, I hate it when an issue just disappears like that. Not quite sure what
to say. I'm still unable to see a way for the uno.py code to create import
errors that aren't already there, though it clearly masks their origin, making
the original error harder to detect, so I'm guessing the original attribution
of the source of the issue in this ticket may have been misplaced. Hard to be
completely confident without some way to reproduce though.

Any chance you somehow had an OpenLP tree that maybe was only partially
processed with 2to3? That was the only way I was able to create failures such
as reported earlier in the bug. It would appear with any source issue
resulting in an ImportError anywhere along the way.

For my part I've been testing under Ubuntu 12.04. LibreOffice was installed
from debs from the web site, not distribution packages. Python and PyQt were
local builds from source, using distribution packages for C/C++ dependencies.
Python module dependencies were all installed directly from pypi. OpenLP was
from its repository.

Context menu shows about 204 ttf fonts in alphabetic order.
In my case there are still some 41 ttf fonts not shown.
Win XP, 4GB

Workaround (menu - format - character - font) shows all installed fonts.

please give as much details about your system as possible and then mark the bug

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 38144] Functionality request:UI Option in Writer to enable snap to grid in ruler

Okay, now I will try to explain why this is so important for LibreOffice from
the point of view of a MS Office switcher. I cannot *comfortably* suggest LO to
MS Office users, especially heavy Word users, because first thing they will
notice is the lack of this feature. And I know that they will bug about this,
because I've had this conversation already several times.

Imagine, you are writing a nice report, something or whatever, it is not
important. You want your document to look nice with paragraphs nicely stacked
and listed. You have lots of sub-sections on your document, lots of lists,
bullets, numberings etc. The first thing you will want to do is arrange these
sections, so that one reading your document will understand what is going on
there. Eventually you have a ruler, so you will want to use it first. You were
already using this ruler for years in MS Word, because it allowed you to
arrange document elements with ease and with 0.0 pixel perfection. But when you
start to drag the ruler in Writer, you will notice something odd, ruler is not
snapping to grids in LO. What?! So you won't be able to arrange items with
pre-set length variables, you have to go to Paragraph dialog box, and set each
thing manually, - without any or less visual aid. I don't even mention the
number of extra clicks to do this.

This is probably one of the biggest usability and UX issues LO (OOo, AOO) ever
had. Speaking of novice users, no one will bother to look for the Paragraph
dialog box, instead they will get irritated about this and probably they will
switch back to MS Office, if they have no sense of FOSS or if they do not have
financial concerns.

I hope this will get some attention from the developers' side, because this is
really a serious issue, and it is simply unbelievable to see this wasn't
addressed in 20 years. At least this could be an Easy Hack. There has been some
noise about this on AOO side, it is possible to check with them also.

I hope there is someone with some free time to hack on this. :)

I rest my case...
Best regards,
Emir

Integer field shows currency-formatting and length of 32

When I create a table in Firebird, connecting with JDBC to LO 4.*, and chose
some numeric fields, they show wrong field properties.
In the attachment you see an integer-field. The length of this field is shown
during editing with 32 characters. The format shows a German currency-field
with two digits. I could change the currency-format to a numeric format without
digits, but could not change the length.
When I reopen the table I couldn't edit anything of the old fields. But have a
look at the length, which is displayed now: 10.
This formatting-problem appears with the following field-types:
Big_Int, Integer, Small Integer, Number and Decimal. It doesn't appear with
Float and Double.

I have tested this with OpenSUSE 12.3 64bit rpm, openjdk 1.7.0_21 and
Jaybird-2.2.3JDK_1.7 (JDBC-Connector to Firebird)

Hello Petr,

thanks for your response.

It suprised me also that nobody did report this problem earlier. Maybe because
in the most company's MS Office is used?
If we want to promote libreOffice as a good alternative for business use, these
kind of things wil have to work well.

We did choose the lts version of Linux Mint 13 because we don't want to install
a new version on 65 workspaces every year. In a company you want to stay in the
same release as long as possible,as lang as there are bugfixes and safety
updates. Only if there are major improvements i would consider to upgrade
specific software parts.
So i need a fix for the "old version" in Linux Mint 13 too. Therefore I
contacted Lanedo.

Hi William,

I think you have to use Ctrl+Click. That behaviour has changed recently.
You can set it in Tools > Options > GEneral > security ...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59424] undefined: I/O Error while opening file from WebDAV over GVFS from Nautilus

2013-07-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59424

I guess I can confirm this bug also for LibreOffice 4.0.4.2 and for owncloud
instead of Alfresco.

I get:

General input/output error while accessing
/home/christian/.gvfs/dav:host=cloud.balticfinance.com,ssl=true,prefix=%2Fowncloud%2Ffiles%2Fwebdav.php/Shared/somefolder/test.ods.

Using the Open File dialogue from LibreOffice gives me the same results as in
the original bug report.

In addition (I'm not sure if this is the same bug), I can't create a new file
on the WebDav share. I get:

Error saving the document Untitled1:
https://cloud.balticfinance.com/owncloud/files/webdav.php/Shared/somefolder/test/test2.ods
does not exist.

followed by a:

Error saving the document Untitled1:
General Error.
General input/output error.

And then by a frozen LibreOffice - restarting Ubuntu or killing the soffice.bin
process are the only options to get out of here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67163] Albanian Dictionary Extension does not work after LO 4.0 versions

2013-07-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67163

Thank you Julien for checking.

The installation goes through well. That's not the problem. When installed in
any version starting from LO 4.0+ in windows and mac instalation, the
correcterd does not correct any albanian word in the text. The same file
extention downloaded from the source I pasted in this bug report, if installed
in any previous pre 4.0 version gets installed and corrects the words in
albania.

Don't know why.
Thank you so much for your help!
Drini.

Hi
Yes, I can print from other software such as LR5, web pages, notepad, etc.
Difficult to send you a screen show of what happens when I try to print from LO
as the job goes in and out of the print queue so fast that I can't grab the
screen show.
I'll try the pre release version of LO and let you know what happens.
Cheers

This patch improves the Windows 7 integration quite dramatically but further
work is still necessary to finish this once and for all. The tentative release
for all the required fixes will be 4.1.1.

Further Windows related improvements will be made only on the 4.2 branch.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66985] ill-handling of numbers in imported xls worksheet

Thank you for the promptness with which you responded to the reported issue. By
any standards it is great, by OO standards - where a reported issue did not
elicit response for years and which had me totally put-off - this promptness is
unthinkable.

Coming to the issue, my office, personal systems are all on Linux / LO. My only
dual boot Windows installation did not work. So, this had to wait.

You are right. I created an xls file in Excel and opened it in LO. One column
containing numbers explicitly formatted as numbers and another column with
numbers, but with default formatting. Both had no apostrophe in LO. So, this is
not a general problem.

But I have attached an excel sheet which I downloaded from my bank. This file
when opened in LO treats all numbers and dates as text. I cannot say whether
the apostrophe before the numbers / dates was introduced by LO while first
reading it or was in the original excel file produced by the Bank. But this
file, when opened in MSO, does not show the apostrophe in cell editing or
formula bar and the data are also treated as DATE / NUMBER as relevant. Only
clue to them being text is the data are all left aligned. The ditto behaviour
in calligra sheets as well.

I have also observed any excel file produced by Java Jasper Library behaves
exactly same way in LO. Though the datta in jasper report is treated as number,
when exported to execl, all dates and numbers have apostrophe before them.I do
not know if the bank also used Jasper to produce Excel.

I would suggest you to try to work with pictures anchored as character, when
you need them all at a line.
Pls visit the users support forums or Ask.LibreOffice for initial ideas
